006. A CLAIM TO PROPERTY

THE SECOND HUX SAW THE SHADOW OF THE SHIP LOOMING OVERHEAD, HIS MIND HAD GONE BLANK AND HE FROZE IN A MOMENT OF PETRIFIED STUPOR. He mentally chastised himself for being foolish enough to believe that he could escape the grasp of the First Order while simply cruising through occupied space. His breathing had grown shallow as his panicked thoughts began to jump to the worst possible conclusions.
The scavenger didn't seem to be faring much better. Seth paced along the interior of the cockpit, madly rambling under his breath. "What do we do? There must be something we can do?"
DB chirped. She went ignored, an action she adamantly voiced her disapproval of by rolling over Hux's feet while fervently releasing a series of chirps and beeps that the General was certain he should be pleased he didn't understand.
"Gah!" He exclaimed in pain, hopping back onto one foot while cradling the wounded one in his hands. "You malfunctioning piece of hardware! Do you realize that you could have crushed every bone in my foot by rolling over it?"
DB's flat top head rolled along her bodyโas if completing the human action of rolling her eyes. She released another series of chirps, extending her retractable arm as both a protective measure and a threat as electricity sparked from the end. Hux took a wary step back.
"That's actually not a bad idea," Seth noted, a look of deep thought twisting his features.
"What's not a bad idea?" Hux questioned, once more emphasizing that he was at a loss for interpretation during any and all conversations between the two. He kept a safe distance from the droid while looking between her and the scavenger with a paranoid look in his eye.
"Opening back up the leak," Seth replied with a shrug as if the idea should have been obvious, then he sprinted down the hall back toward the room where they'd previously been making repairs.
Hux guffawed and shook his head, incredulously sprinting after the scavenger. "You said it was a poisonous gas."
"Yes," Seth agreed, snatching a pair of gas masks from the wall of the lounge. He tossed one over to Hux, who fumbled with the object before allowing it to clatter against the floor. Seth's brow lifted. "You can't fly, you can barely shoot, and your reflexes are slower than a happabore. What kind of General are you?"
"The kind that's renowned for his strategy, not his fieldwork," Hux pointedly remarked, bending to pick up the gas mask. "And if you'd given me a minute to come up with a real plan, we wouldn't be taking such an unnecessary risk."
"Well, we don't have a minute," Seth countered, pulling back the grate from the floor before crawling back down into the hole where he'd spent quite a bit of time earlier. He then held out his arms, which Hux almost took as an invitation before the scavenger turned his attention to the rolling menace at the General's side. "C'mon, DB-17."
Seth shot Hux a look that silently instructed the ex-general to help in lowering the droid. Although his nose wrinkled with distaste and he rolled his eyes, Hux didn't argue. He understood that time was limited and that if the droid was discovered, then their own discovery wouldn't be far behind. He slid down into the hole then aided Seth in lowering the droid to their level. However, they lost their grip halfway. The droid's landing was softened only as she fell on top of Hux.
"Oof!" Hux exhaled, losing his breath with a pained wheeze. "Droid... get off."
Seth pulled the grate over their heads while DB slowly rolled off of Hux, as if taking great joy in every second of pain he experienced. Seth quickly jumped to working on the controls while Hux regained his breath.
"You think this'll work on the Stormtroopers?" Seth skeptically asked.
"How should I know?" Hux asked with wide eyes. "You're the one that jumped to conclusions with the idea of poisoning them. And just what are we going to do if their masks filter out smoke and toxins?"
"Shhh!" Seth hissed.
"Don't shush me!" Hux immediately returned the hiss. "I'm in the middle of making a valid pointโ"
"Shhh!" Seth repeated while loosening the bolts that he'd previously tightened. "They're coming."
The overhead lights flashed brighter while the sound of the ship's ramp lowering echoed down the halls. Hux readjusted the grate over their heads to ensure they were covered. It wasn't that he didn't believe that Seth had done the job properly, but there was a saying about a job only being done right if completed by oneself. It was merely habit to check over his associates work at this point.
"Hurry!" Hux hissed.
"I am hurrying!" Seth replied, equally frustrated as his nudged Hux back with his elbow. The General had started to lean over his shoulder and it was entirely distracting to his work. He hadn't meant to knock the wind from the General's lungs, but it certainly did the job as he jumped back and gave him space.
Suddenly, the overhead grate was lifted up and they were left completely exposed. Hux's hands shot up in surrender and Seth followed suit, but only after glancing over at the General in confusion. Surely he should have put up some fight. However, the older man pointing his blaster in their face was certainly a factor which may have discouraged such actions.
"Where are the others?" the old man's voice was gruff as he questioned them. "Where's the pilot?"
"I'm the pilot," Seth admitted.
"You?" the old man's brow furrowed.
Hux scoffed. "I'd hardly consider you a pilot. You might have flown the ship, but let's not hastily throw labels around."
The Wookiee at the old man's side growled and its voice warbled as it spoke in its native tongue. DB chirped as if translating and then Seth quickly shook his head. "No, it's true. We're the only ones on board."
Hux incredulously glanced between the Wookiee, the droid, and Seth. "You can understand that thing?"
"And 'that thing' can understand you too, so watch it," the old man snapped as he jumped to the Wookiee's defense. He then roughly gestured toward the open area above with his blaster. "Come on outta there."
Seth and Hux glanced at one another with uncertainty, but didn't dare argue with the old man who'd proven himself to be in no joking mood. DB had no troubles escaping the hole as she elected to use her magnetic arm to pull herself out.
Hux blinked and bit his tongue, but it did little to hold back the remark. "You could have lowered yourself down that whole time?"
"Where'd you get this ship?" the old man interjected before the argument between General and droid could begin.
"The Niima Outpost," Seth replied.
"Jakku?!" the old man's eyes widened incredulously. "That junkyard?"
"Precisely!" Hux was quick to agree. Pointedly directing the conversation back toward Seth who frowned in reply. "See? A junkyard."
"Told ya we should've double-checked the Western Reaches!" the old man said to the Wookiee before questioning Seth again. "Who had it, Ducain?"
"I stole it from Unkar Plutt," Seth explained. "He stole it from the Irving Boys, who stole it from Ducain."
"Who stole it from me!" the old man interjected. "Well, you tell him Han Solo just stole back the Millennium Falcon for good."
"You're Han Solo?" Hux's expression slackened. Solo didn't confirm his identity, he'd already left the room and had made his way back toward the cockpit as if he owned the shipโwhich apparently he did.
Seth's brow furrowed with confusion. "Who's Han Solo?"
"Han Solo. The Rebellion General," Hux explained, disbelief evident on his face. "He was a war hero."
Seth's blank expression failed to change. Hux sighed.
"You should at least know his reputation as a smuggler," Hux tried an alternative explanation as they made their way toward the cockpit, following after Solo. "He made the Kessel Run in fourteen parsecsโ"
"Twelve!" Solo shouted over his shoulder to correct the ongoing conversation. He then quietly scoffed under his breath. "Fourteen. Hey! Some moof-milker put a compressor on the ignition line!"
"I assume that would be Unkar Plutt," Seth replied. Solo stepped out into the corridor to meet with them. Seth's brow furrowed in confusion as he tried to look beyond the smuggler into the cockpit. "What's wrong with putting a compressor on the ignition line?"
"It puts too much stress on the hyperdrive," Solo explained and then scoffed. "How the hell did you manage to fly this thing without immediately crashing?"
"Pure luck," Seth suggested while shrugging his shoulders.
"I wouldn't say we didn't crash," Hux muttered under his breath.
Solo blinked then turned to his Wookiee friend. "Chewie, throw 'em in a pod, we'll drop them at the nearest inhabited planet."
"Wait! Please," Seth pleaded. "We could use your help."
"My help?" Solo's brow furrowed. His lips pursed as if debating whether or not the conversation was more of an inconvenience than he was willing to sit through.
Seth quickly nodded his head, gesturing down at DB who had yet to leave his side. "This droid has to get to the Resistance base as soon as possible!"
"It's carrying a map to Fulcrum," Hux added, straightening the leather jacket as if it would bring him some authorityโa habit usually used in First Order meetings when facing other officials who were against whatever policy he was proposing. Solo paused, appearing at least minorly intrigued so Hux continued. "You once fought with the Rebellion. You must have known him."
Solo scoffed. "There were half a dozen agents that used the call-sign Fulcrum. Who's to say this one is even legitimate?"
Hux was at a loss for words. He hadn't considered that possibility, specifically because the information hadn't been released to anyone within the First Order. It certainly explained why no one truly knew the identity of Fulcrum: because there was no one individual to target. Seth was hardly discouraged by this revelation though because he only grew more determined.
"You were a war hero, right?" the scavenger asked, eyeing Solo as if he didn't quite believe it. "Surely you see that what the First Order is doing is wrong. Isn't that enough?"
Solo's expression softened and he sighed. "That's a nice sentiment, kid. But I'm not that guy anymore."
A metallic thud echoed down the halls of the freighter ship, ricocheting aboard the Millenium Falcon which immediately put everyone at unease.
Solo frowned. "Don't tell me a Rathtar's gotten loose."
Solo jogged down the hall, stepping off the ramp of the Falcon to enter the cargo hold of the larger freight carrier. The others followed, but only Hux had a wild look of concern plastered to his face.
"I'm sorry? Did you just say Rathtars?" Hux asked, quickly trying to catch up to Solo as the smuggler approached the nearest control panel. "Surely you wouldn't be so foolish as to haul Rathtars aboard this freighter. Right?"
"I'm hauling Rathtars," Solo confirmed much to Hux's chagrin. He flicked a few switches on the control panel, controlling which images appeared on the screens from the cameras that monitored the ship. Although there were no rampaging Rathtars, there was an uninvited transport ship landing on the freighter which made Solo's features twist with a moment of fear. "Oh great. It's the Guavian Death Gangโthey must've tracked us from Nantoon."
"You're hauling Rathtars and have ties to the Guavian Death Gang?" Hux's eyes widened incredulously and his brow furrowed. "I thought you were supposed to be brilliant."
"What's a Rathtar?" Seth whispered, glancing down at DB as the droid rolled alongside him. Solo proceeded to lead the group down a long narrow hall lined with cargo containers.
"I'm a smuggler, not this fancy war hero that you think I am. I take the money and run, which tends to piss off quite a bit of people," Solo retorted, hardly glancing over his shoulder. "As for the Rathtars, they're big and dangerous..."
"The Trillia Massacre is a wonderful example," Hux sardonically agreed, rolling his eyes.
"The Trillia Massacre?" Seth's clueless expression grew more confused.
"Oh, you sweet, confused, kid. That's some rock you've been living under," Solo snickered. "I got three of 'em going to King Prana."
"Three?!" Hux cried in outrage. "How'd you get them on board?"
"I used to have a bigger crew," Solo replied and the Wookieeโwho he'd referred to as Chewieโgrowled as if concurring that statement. Solo pressed a few buttons on the next console they came across, opening a hatch in the floor. "Get below deck and stay there until I say soโdon't even think about taking the Falcon."
"Stepping aboard that ship is quite possibly the last thing I'd ever like to do again," Hux agreed, climbing the ladder below decks.
Seth paused mid-descent. "What about DB-17?"
"She stays with me," Solo replied. "Until I get rid of the gang, then you can have her back and be on your way."
"The Rathtars!" Hux exclaimed at the last minute with a gasp. "Where are you keeping them?"
The cargo doors just overhead and to the right shuddered and creaked. Hux fell to the ground, clutching his chest as if trying to keep his heart from hammering its ways out of his chest. He was thankfully already below decks so he didn't see the creature, but it was no less terrifying to know it was so near.
Seth's eyes shone with fascination. "So that's a Rathtar."
"Yes, now get down," Solo instructed, nudging Seth with his foot as if the verbal instructions weren't enough encouragement.
"And what are you gonna do?" Seth asked.
"Same thing I always do: talk my way out of it." Solo smirked with an exaggerated confidence. Chewie growled, apparently voicing his disagreement because Solo immediately frowned and tried to defend himself. "Yes, I do. Every time."
After Seth had finished his descent, Solo closed the overhead hatchโessentially trapping them below just as the exterior portal doors opened and the Guavian Death Gang walked through. There were six of them: one in a nicer suit while the other five wore security uniforms. Not as nice as those that the First Order provided, but it was nearly impossible to match that level without some serious funds.
"Han Solo," the leader of the group called out, stopping his men about forty feet away. "You are a dead man."
Solo placed an innocent but falsely friendly smile on his face while DB nervously looked back and forth between the smuggler and the gang. "Bala-Tik. What's the problem?"
"The problem is we loaned you fifty thousand for this job," Bala-Tik explained, "I heard you also borrowed fifty thousand from Kanjiklub."
"Can you see them?" Seth whispered, trying to see anything through the grated floor.
Hux shook his head. "No..."
Seth nudged his way past Huxโquieting the protested huffs of outrageโthen began crawling down the crawl space as if trying to eavesdrop on the conversation. His eyes remained glued to the grates overhead and he only stopped when he could make out the shapes of how many gang members were standing above them.
"You know you can't trust those little freaks!" Solo tried to deny the accusation, relying too heavily on charm that no one found amusing. "How long've we known each other?"
"They have blasters..." Seth noted.
Hux paled as he nodded in agreement, counting more weapons than hands in the room. "A lot of 'em."
Bala-Tik scoffed. "The question is how much longer will we know each other? Not long. We want our money back now."
"Ya think hunting Rathtars is cheap?" Solo rhetorically asked, brushing aside the demand with an ounce of truth. "I spent that money."
"Kanjiklub wants their investment back, too," Bala-Tik added.
"I never made a deal with Kanjiklub!" Solo protested.
"Tell that to Kanjiklub." Bala-Tik chuckled. However, it wasn't because he was humoring Solo, but the opposite as he caught the smuggler in a lie. The sound of the gang leader's laugh was cold as it merged with the sound of another portal door opening.
Solo's face paled white as a sheet as he turned to see the presence of several Kanjiklub members. He quickly recovered though with an uncomfortable smile while trying to play off the fact that he'd been caught by surprise and overestimated his own skill to talk his way out of any situation. "Tasu Leech. Good to see you."
Tasu Leech did not speak basic; however, it wasn't difficult to interpret the meaning behind the clicks and warble of his voice as he cocked his blaster.
"This is not good," Hux muttered under his breath, biting his knuckle as he glanced around the enclosed area of the crawl space around them. There was little they could actually do below decks and they were essentially sitting pelikki should they be discovered.
"What's wrong now?" Seth whispered.
"Solo has been taking funds from rival gangs and they've apparently allied themselves with a common enemy," Hux replied, less than gently pushing Seth back the way they'd come. "We need to get out of here."
"Solo said to stay out of sight," Seth protested.
Hux scoffed. "He hasn't exactly proven himself to be full of grand ideas."
"We don't exactly have anywhere else to go," Seth reminded him, eyeing the overhead grates as if trying to prove a point.
"Well I didn't just escape the First Order to find myself captured by a cybernetic enhanced gang or their rivals of renegade slaves," Hux retorted, again trying to shove past.
However, Seth pushed him back against the walls while pressing a finger to his own lips, silently shushing the general. "I understand that you're used to being in charge, General, but I really think we should listen to Solo."
"Boys. You're both gonna get what I promised!" Solo insisted, defensively lifting his hands while shifting his position so that his back faced neither group. "Have I ever not delivered for you before?"
"Yeah." Bala-Tik immediately agreed and Tasu Leech added on which specifics in his native alien tongue.
Solo's brow furrowed in confusion. "What was the second time?"
"Your game is old. There's no one in the galaxy left for you to swindle," Bala-Tik ignored Solo's poor excuse at changing the topic. "Nowhere left for you to hide. That BB unit... the First Order is looking for one just like it. And two fugitives."
Hux frowned and his expression had a distinct "I told you so" attitude about it. Seth frowned and immediately there was a hushed argument being whispered below about who was right and how they should proceed. No conclusion was actually reached, and it was practically a miracle that the hissing steam from the surrounding pipes covered the sound of their fight.
"First I've heard of it," Solo said. But neither gang believed him because each member moved further into the freighter and began searching for the fugitives.
Hux and Seth fell silent, staring at one another in terror before scrambling back in the opposite direction from which they'd come from before reaching a junction box area which had a bit more room than the more narrow corridors they'd been moving through prior.
Seth glanced at the controls. "What if we close the blast doors in that corridor?"
"And trap both gangs," Hux nodded in agreement. However, he felt lost as he looked over the controls. "But how do we accomplish that from here?"
Seth shrugged. "We'll just reset the fuses."
"And you can do that?" Hux questioned his ability.
"I scavenge parts from these sorts of vessels all the time," Seth dismissed the comment. "How hard can it be?"
Seth began rewiring and resetting the fuses, working quicker than Hux could process. As far as the General could tell, the scavenger seemed to know what he was doing. Then again, based on the own lies he'd told, looks could be deceiving. Seth looked over his shoulder with an optimistic smile that Hux felt was almost contagious as he felt the corners of his own lips lifting into a mirror smile.
All of the lights switched off one by one before simultaneously flickering back on. However, it was the deep rumble and deafening roar that made Hux's blood run ice cold.
"What did you do?" He feared the answer.
Seth swallowed. "Maybe it was a little harder than I thought..."
"Kill them!" Bala-Tik's screams were only the first they heard echoing down the hall. "And take the droid!"
Blaster fire and screams filled the halls. The sound of feet trampling overhead shook the floor and made the walls quake. Each thud and plea of mercy was grating on Hux's ears and he could feel the blood rush from his face. The world was fading in and out of focus as if being torn between the present and past. That is until a pair of firm arms gripped his shoulders and held him in place until he focused on the ice blue eyes staring into his.
"General!" Seth shouted, apparently not for the first time either. "We need to move."
"Right..." Hux's voice quivered and cracked. He cleared his throat and shook away the chills running down his spine as a sign of trying to regain control. "We should move."
Seth nodded, allowing Hux to take the lead as they began crawling down the interior tunnels once more. They quickly lost track of how far they'd gone and where they'd started from as the walls looked the same at every turn. Growing tired of feeling so lost, Hux paused when they reached the next overhead hatch and climbed back above deck.
"What do they look like?" Seth asked as they turned the corner and narrowly ran into one. Fortunate for themโunfortunate for the members of the Guavian Death Gangโthe Rathtar was already preoccupied with finishing the first course of its meal.
"They look like that!" Hux shrieked, yanking Seth away as he led them down another corridor. "This way!"
"Are you sure?" Seth questioned, but didn't stop running.
Hux nodded, turning to look over his shoulder and reply; however, a thick tentacled wrapped itself around his waist and snatched him out of the air. The Rathtar rumbled and roared, barreling down the corridor at a speed impossible to keep up with. That didn't stop the scavenger from trying.
"General!" Seth shouted, following the trail of screams with a look of horror draining the color from his face. Hux's panicked shriek echoed and soon it was impossible to tell where the sound had originated from. The scavenger was distraught, left alone. The weight of unintentional abandonment crushed the breath from his lungs and he began to grow lightheaded as he continued to run despite lacking the proper oxygen. "Hux!"
Only once out of breath did he stop. He huffed, struggling to regain control over the shallow wheezing of his chest. Ultimately, he resorted to closing his eyes then blocked out everything but the sound of his own chest rising and falling. He counted the beats between each breath until he regained a steady rhythm. Then slowlyโlike a growing pinprick of lightโa singular scream stood out amongst the rest. He followed the sound as if it had reached out and tugged him by the hand, guiding him to the precise corridor where the general was struggling against the grip of the massive Rathtar tentacles.
Several of the Kanjiklub and Guavian Death Gang members had already been eaten and torn apart on the beast's rampage, yet the general thankfully appeared physically unharmed for the time being aside from the minor bruises of being thrown about and crushed. Seth frantically searched for a weapon, snatching a blaster from the ground and aiming for the creature's mouth with a loose hope that's where its vulnerabilities lie. However, his little "knight in less than shining armor" act was cut short as the Rathtar wildly whipped around and threw him back against the wall with one of its free tentacles before additionally snatching him up as well.
The monster continued its rampage searching for more prey as it rumbled deeper inside the interior freighter, swiftly moving from one corridor to the next with little hindrance. That is until one of the blast doors came crashing down and severed the pair of tentacles holding Seth and Hux captive. The beast bellowed in pain but did not turn around or try to reopen the blast doors.
Hux and Seth desperately scrambled and writhed to free themselves from the tentacles, immediately embracing the other once free as if trying to ground themselves with the fact that they were alive and had survived.
"IโI don't know how you did that..." Hux's voice cracked and his hands trembled as he took a step back, running them through the strands of ginger hair that were matted against his forehead.
"Me?" Seth released an incredulous laugh. "I thought it had been you!"
"I'd say the pair of you were quite lucky," a third voice joined the conversation.
Hux's jaw dropped and his eyes widened with disbelief, blinking as if she were merely a mirage. "Dangir?"
The pilot smirked and nodded her head. There were several bruises coloring her face in bright hues of purple and blue, but those had been present since her interrogation with the dark apprentice. Aside from a few scratches and the fact that she was covered in sand, there was no evidence to the general's claim that she'd been dead. "Glad to see you're making friends."
Hux glanced between Dangir and Seth, stunned into stuttering and stumbling over his words. "But I saw youโThe sand pitsโThe ship was on fire! How?!"
"I'll explain later," Koria brushed aside his confusion, gesturing for the pair to follow her. "Right now we should really get out of here. Where's my droid?"
"With the smuggler..." Hux finally managed to form a complete sentence.
"And you're welcome by the way," she added, jogging down the nearest corridor. She paused once she recognized that her footsteps were the only ones she heard. She sighed and glanced back over her shoulder with a thoroughly unamused look. "Move it or lose it. I won't be saving your asses twice."
"That's your pilot?" Seth asked, a look of impressed disbelief slacking his features.
"She's hardly my pilot," Hux corrected while nodding. "But yes. She's the pilot I believed had been dead up until a minute ago."
"Let's go!" Koria called after them with even less patience than before. Seth and Hux didn't dare push the limit of how long she was willing to wait. They sprinted to catch up, ducking behind the pilot for cover as she fired her blaster at anything that even glanced in their direction.ย
The trio entered the hangar, meeting up with Solo, Chewie, and DB by the Falcon. Seth's face lit up with relief as he called out to the smuggler, "Han!"
Chewie looked worse for wear, cradling his shoulder while leaning against Solo for support. DB rolled back and forth and chirped and whirred with great excitement at the sight of Koria dashing forward toward the ramp of the Corellian Freighter while firing at any gang members that approached. As the pilot provided cover fire, it allowed time for Solo to help Chewie inside. Seth and Hux followed after them, while Koria continued covering.
"You, close the door behind us!" Solo instructed Seth before handing Chewieโwho growled wildly in painโoff to Hux. "You take care of Chewie!"
Solo left them behind, quickly making his way to the cockpit as Koria and DB finally stepped aboard. Seth didn't hesitate to close the ramp behind them, following after the pilot and droid as they also made their way to the cockpit. Solo was working on the final preparations, hitting several switches at the navicomputer. Koria only took a second to glance around the cabin before taking a seat in the co-pilot's chair.
"Hey, where are youโ" Solo paused and his brow furrowed. "Who's this?"
Seth shrugged. He'd only gotten a brief description and he hardly felt confident enough to lead an introduction that he hadn't even received himself.
"You need a co-pilot," Koria explained without providing any actual answers. "And if we don't prime the fuel pump installed in this ship we're not going anywhere."
"Plutt installed a fuel pump? I hate that guy," Solo muttered, working around Seth as the scavenger stood in the middle of the space. "How the hell did you know about it?"
"Did a quick scan of the ship when I arrived," Koria shrugged. "Considered nicking it and leaving before noticing the trio of Rathtars that were trying to eat my droid."
"Alright," Solo nodded, convinced that she at least seemed to know what she was talking about as he took a seat in the pilot's chair. "Watch the thrust, we're goin' out of here at lightspeedโ"
Seth's jaw dropped with shock. "From inside the hangar? Is that even possible?"
"I never ask that question until after I've done it," Solo replied.
Koria laughed as if agreeing. However, those plans were paused as one of the Rathtars darted into the hangar and leaped onto the windshield. The group within the cockpit screamed and DB released a series of frantic chirps.
"This is not how I thought this day was gonna goโangle the shields," Solo instructed and Koria jumped to act. He then shouted over his shoulder for those in the lounge to hear. "Hang on back there!"
"To what?!" Hux's undignified shout replied as Chewie howled in pain.
To make matters worse, a trio of mixed gang members raced forward and fired at the Falcon, hitting the fuel lines and rocking the ship.
"Come on baby, don't let me down!" Solo pleaded, yanking the hyperdrive lever. Nothing occurs and Solo repeats the action, only growing more frustrated by the lack of results. "What?!"
"Maybe it's the compressor?" Seth suggested, taking a seat behind Solo. Solo blinked, which the scavenger took as a gesture to explain. "You said it puts stress on the hyperdrive."
Solo sighed and groaned, a mixture of surprise and a strong dislike that the scavenger had a point. He didn't like being told how to run or fly his ship, and these unhelpful modifications meant relearning the way his ship operated. He forcefully hit a switch and the hyperdrive immediately reacted. The hangar was filled with the blast impact of light speed, vaporizing anyone caught in the emissions. The stars stretched like elastic as the Falcon disappeared in a streak of silver.
