I was gonna wait to post this but I couldn't. This chapter gets me so excited and I couldn't withhold this from you guys any longer. The good news is, I was able to edit and revise this so cheers to me actually doing my job as a writer. I don't know what got into me but I managed to write 6,000 words in the span of a day and a half.
Enough with my rant. I just recommend listening to 'Sweet Nothings' by Taylor Swift, especially as you get further towards the end. You'll see :)
Anywho, enjoy this chapter, Hotties!
Chapter 18

"I don't need to see you to know you look beautiful. I think you're beautiful every minute of the day, no matter the occasion."
+
Living in New York is both a wonderful experience and a pain in the ass. Mainly a pain in the ass, but for the sake of Holly remaining buoyant, she always acted like it was the foremost place in the world. Plus, people seemed to find it cool when she would tell them she was from New York. Her friend Wanda lived in a small town--something Holly wasn't the biggest fan of. Small towns were never her thing, mainly because she hated feeling everyone's eyes on her. Yet, moving there was Wanda's choice. She didn't have to move but she did for....well...Holly didn't know why, but she seemed to like it so she didn't ask many questions.
Back to Holly not being a fan of New York, she mainly loathed it because of the people. People in New York had one of two attitudes. One being they were optimistic, and happy, thinking of New York as the city of dreams. They were usually people who were born in different states. Then, there was attitude number two. Attitude number two hated New York. They didn't have patience, nor did they give a shit about other people who lived in the city. Frankly, Holly felt that those types of people purposefully made life hard for those around them just to get a reaction.
So, as Holly speaks to a man on the other line of her phone, she feels that attitude number two spirit radiating from the other person's voice.
"No, no, no, no-" Holly shook her head as one hand pressed the phone to her ear while the other motioned at her brother and father, guiding them across the floor as they held a large table between them. "I said I needed that by today. It's my brother's birthday and I-" She paused, taking a deep sigh. She knew she wouldn't win this argument, but she could at least compromise with the guy. "Yes that's fine, I can have my brother pick it up. But I would just need it in the next hour." She ran her hand through her hair, "Okay, thank you."
Holly hung up just as her brother sauntered away from the table, edging closer to her by the second. Theo furrowed his brows as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Your spazzing."
Spazzing. A word the Nelson Family had come up with when Holly was younger. She was always very determined with things, so much so that she would throw herself into a panic thinking about things that were so far in the future. It didn't help that she constantly craved academic validation, so her spazzing became more apparent and frequent in her high school years. By the time she was sixteen, she had straight A's and a 4.0 GPA. Some would call it hard work, The Nelsons called it Holly's Spaz levels getting the best of her.
Holly glanced up from her clipboard, "I'm not spazzing." She looked back down, "I just want to get this all done the right way."
Theo scoffed at her ignorance. She couldn't admit Theo was right. "No, your most definitely spazzing."
Holly shot Theo an unamusing look. She was not in a good mindset at the moment. Stress did this to her. "Go pick up the cake."
Theo gave Holly a baffled expression as she turned her back to him, walking off in the opposite direction where some of her mother's friends were hanging up decorations. She would be lying if she said she wasn't praying they would pick up the pace. I mean, by the time these decorations were up, they may be preparing for Foggy's funeral.
"Cake?" Theo questioned. "Why do I have to pick up the cake? Didn't you put me on greeting duty?"
Holly scoured through the old box of decorations that lay on top of the table. She was thankful her mother saved decorations from every party she threw. "I'm giving greeting duty to dad." She turned her head to Theo, seeing his static expression. She sighed as she faced back down, pulling out a large line of string lights. "Don't argue with me or I'll go full spaz on you. You know I will."
Theo rolled his eyes, "You know, the older you get, the more you act like mom."
Holly turned back to Theo, and thankfully for him, just as her mouth opened the door did as well. Saying someone was acting like their mother was one of the worst insults they could give, and Theo knew it. The loud chime rang through the rest of the shop, making all heads turn towards Matt whose face was covered with a bundle of blue and silver balloons, a few being decorated with wording.
"Oh thank God," Holly muttered under her breath as she cursory moved over to Matt who was struggling to keep the balloons out of the way of his face. She appreciated how calm Matt was despite her pushy attitude when it came to planning things.
Holly was also thankful for the fact Matt was one of the few people who were staying on the schedule she had sent out a week ago. This was why they were a good couple. Matt accepted his girlfriend had her quirks and this was one of them, yet he accepted it and went along with it without complaint. A part of him wondered to himself what she would be like if they ever got married. Just thinking about it made him worry about the rest of the wedding party.
Holly pushed some of the balloons out of Matt's face, lightly chuckling at the war he was fighting with the bundle.
"Thank you for grabbing these," Holly said as she took the bundle from his hands. Their faces were hidden behind the balloons, making it easier for Holly to lean in and press a kiss to Matt's cheek swiftly. "Your the only person who is as concerned about this party as I am."
"I'm not as concerned as you, I just fear what you'll do to me if I don't stick to your schedule." Matt smiled, their faces still hidden behind the large bundle of balloons. "According to the spreadsheet you made, I'm five minutes behind." He gave a joking perturbed face, making Holly roll her eyes.
"I want the party to look good, is that such a crime?"
"No, not at all. Just as long as Theo's the one you're yelling at, not me." Matt smiled as Holly placed one hand on her hip while her other swatted at his arm. He let out a faint chuckle along with a small 'ouch' that made it even harder for Holly to keep her serious face. "I'm kidding. If you ask me, I think your perfectionism is hot." He said as he leaned in, pressing a kiss to Holly's lips, making a small blush creep up on her cheeks and a smile creep on her lips. "Just take it down a bit. For the sake of all your family leaving this party alive."
"Fine." Holly sighed. "But if this ends up looking bad I'm blaming it on you telling me to calm down."
Matt loosely shrugged as a smirk lined his lips, "I can deal with that guilt, sweetheart."
Holly pursed her lips as she peeked down at her phone, realizing they only had about an hour to set up...and there was a lot more she had planned to ensure everything was perfect. The sky was fading from soft lavender to now a dark orange as the street lights started to flicker on, reflecting through the large windows of the shop.
The day had started at 6 am sharp. Holly jumped out of bed quicker than ever before, dragging Matt with her so he could help carry some items down to the shop to set up. Matt wasn't a morning person and to be completely honest neither was Holly, so they made a pit stop at 'Q's Coffee + Treats' for a cherry tart and coffee before their long day ahead of them. The cherry tart was mainly for Holly, but Matt acted like he wanted one so she wouldn't feel so guilty for making them go out of their way to grab one.
From there, the day was filled with Holly bossing her friends and family around as if she was a Sargent in the military. Matt had sworn he hadn't seen her this particular about things since the night he flew through her window. He found it hard not to laugh to himself every time she would say something looked good, despite the fact it didn't look the way she wanted. She was terrible at lying, and her fast-beating heart gave her lies away even easier.
Holly strode across the shop, picking up the beer that she had resting on the counter beside the register. She looked over the rest of the shop, watching as Matt and her father spoke, even seeing her father laugh at a joke Matt made. Holly's lips formed into a meager smile. She was eager to tell everyone the big news. No more secrecy, no more hiding, everything would be out in the open.
Well...almost everything. But you know what I mean.
Things with Matt's other life had been picking up recently. Matt had found Ben again, practically begging for him to release the article about Fisk despite what The Bulletin had wanted. They were completely against the idea. To them, Fisk was a good Samaritan who just wanted what was best for the city. They were caught up in his lies just like the rest of the city was.
The night before, Ben had finally agreed to post the article on some online blog. He figured soon or later the information would grow large enough for others to be able to read about it and Matt was all for the idea. The quicker they could get the article out, the quicker people would see the truth about Fisk, and hopefully throw him in a cell for the rest of his life.
If you asked Holly, she found this as a win. The less work Matt had to do, the better. She didn't know how many more stitches his body could take, let alone how much blood he could lose before becoming anemic. Holly needed peace of mind, and she knew Matt's body needed peace in general. She looked forward to the day this would be over. The day in which they only had to focus on their jobs and relationship, not some high-archei fat cat who was sunning himself over Hell's Kitchen in loathes of cash.
Sometimes she regretted dancing with the devil. Other times she couldn't be happier for the decision she made even though he was a crisis of her faith in humanity. Most of the time though, she couldn't be happier that Matt had flown through her window. She just wanted her girlhood back so desperately, but she knew Fisk had taken it the second he spoke to her for the first time.
"Hey, dad. Do you mind helping me get the string lights hung across the store?" Holly said as she walked towards her dad who was standing next to Matt, wearing a large smile across his lips. Edward and Holly had very similar facial expressions. Their smiles were almost identical, bright and joyful, enough to brighten a whole room.
"Yeah, sure kiddo." He turned back to Matt, raising his beer bottle slightly as he looked between Matt and Holly. "I'm telling you, Holl's. Matty's gone soft because of this girl of his."
"Oh really?" Holly questioned with a smile that was just the slightest bit away from a smirk.
"I have not," Matt said with a small blush as he pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. He itched behind his ear in a way he would often do when he was uncomfortable. They had no idea. 'Having it bad' or 'Growing Soft' was an understatement for how he felt for Holly. She was his world. His everything. He would do absolutely anything for her.
"Oh, I think you have, Matty." Edward nudged his side before turning to Holly who was clearing her throat. "Anyway, I better go get those lights hung up before Holl's decides to kill me." Holly scoffed as she rolled her eyes playfully, watching as he gave Matt a final pat on the back. "I'll be back later though so I can talk more about this girl of yours."
Matt smiled, "I'll be waiting."
Holly gave Matt a small smile before turning back and following her dad as they made their way toward the box of decorations. She knew Matt couldn't see her smile, but he knew it was there. Just like he knew that she was blushing the second her father said Matt had grown soft for his girlfriend.
It was an odd sort of love they had for each other. They both knew there was passion. It was undeniable. But there was an underlying overprotective nature Matt had for her that would consume him at the drop of a hat. A side of him he wasn't sure he liked. A side he tried to suppress due to the toxicity it held. Like he would do anything for the girl who held his heart in her hands. He was fucking whipped.
Matt listened to her as she laughed and joked around with her family and friends. She was glowing with happiness. He noticed just how otherworldly she was when she wasn't being weighed down by the worries of her life--or in this case Matt's life. It was almost as if he could hear the copious amounts of serotonin radiating from her body. Making her aura light and airy.
He couldn't express his excitement about the fact soon he would be able to touch and treat her in public like he did when they were alone. Well...almost the same. Even right now, he could hear the material of her short dark blue dress as it moved against her skin with every movement she made. He wanted so desperately to wrap his hands around her body. To be consumed by her body and the feeling of his hands resting on her hips like they were made for him.
As the night went on, he found himself talking with Theo and Edward about day-to-day things. Holly was off talking with some of Foggy's friends who she hadn't seen since High School. He could hear the sound of their heartbeats they were definitely affected by the changes that had taken place physically to Holly.
The sky grew darker and darker outside, making the lights inside the building reflect onto the concrete floors outside. Everyone seemed to have their heads on swivels. Mainly because of the large decorations that consumed the shop. Like it was from a party planning booklet. Holly couldn't deny it. She felt prideful for the way she had decorated everything. It was stunning and she knew it.
Standing by some of Foggy's friends, Holly drank the last of her beer. Just as she looked down at her watch, tsking to herself about how late her brother was, she heard his voice echoing over the shop as everyone let out happy cheers.
"The party has arrived!" Foggy called out. Marci was wrapped around his arm, wearing a large smile on her lips. Now Holly knew why he was late.
Holly walked up to Foggy who was now wearing a 'birthday boy' crown on the top of his head. He looked at Holly, then around at the rest of the party. "You know, I'm very lucky to have a sister as big of a perfectionist as you are. This looks great, Holl's."
Holly smiled, trying to hide her pride. "Oh, It's nothing." She waved her hand, hearing as the rest of her family scoffed at her reaction. "What? It wasn't a lot of work. It's nothing big."
"Don't let her fool you, Fog." Theo patted Holly's shoulder. "She's been threatening all of us the entire day. She's been Spazzing since 6 am." Holly swatted Theo's hand back from her shoulder, giving him a look.
Foggy raised his eyebrows, turning back to Holly. "You've been spazzing? Shit, this must have been a rough day for you guys." Everyone in the group laughed as Holly playfully rolled her eyes. He caught a whiff of beer radiating off everyone's breath. "It would have been nice if you guys waited for me before you started drinking though."
"Well considering you were late, we had to start the party at some point," Matt said with his arms crossed over his chest.
Foggy turned to Marci, wearing a sly smile. "We uh...had to get some stuff done before we came over here." Marci nudged Foggy in the side, almost giving him the warning to shut up. "Some very important stuff."
Holly's face grew sour. "I did not need to know that." She turned behind her, "Drinks are in the fridge and there's a music cue on my phone by the register." She clapped her hands together, "My job here is done. Have a good night."
He laughed at her snappy attitude. Foggy called out loud enough for the rest of the party to hear, "Thank you, Holl's!"
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
Holly downs her glass of champagne and takes another off the table behind her. She was planning on drinking this one as quickly as she did the first one hoping that it would make the current conversation she was in more enjoyable.
There were so many familiar faces in the room. People she remembered from college and high school--hell, some she even remembered from grade school. People from her old neighborhood in Brooklyn and others who she didn't recognize at all would come up to her, engaging the conversation by starting on her love life. "No-Plus one, Holly?" They asked. And, "Gonna be pulling any moves tonight? I can guarantee you that you would be quite the hit for these guys."
"No," Holly says with an uncomfortable smile. "Probably not."
There's a bit of betting about who will try and take a crack with Holly. Then they're on and off talking about their jobs, their houses. Share options and portfolios. Some story about a recent politician who had made an arse of himself. She didn't remember adults being this boring. She figured she had a few more years before their conversations turned this bland. There's not much she can add to the conversation. So instead, Holly stands saying nothing, just eyeing Matt across the room wishing she could go stand next to him without anything looking suspicious.
She had put Theo in charge of the guest list, giving him a general outline of who she wanted there and who she could live without seeing. Despite putting his name on the 'DO NOT INVITE' list, Jack Miller had somehow managed to make an appearance.
So now she was stuck with him.
"And that's when I decided to sell my father's business and join the current enterprise I work for. Pays a hell of a lot too. I can buy whatever I want, or whatever other people want." He said with a prideful smile, hinting at something. He wasn't necessarily bad looking, if anything he had inherited his father's looks. But, he had also inherited his father's prideful attitude. Something Holly wasn't a fan of. "When was the last time I saw you? Graduation day?"
"Probably," Holly nodded with a fake smile, holding another glass of champagne. "Yeah, that's the last time I remember seeing you. I feel like we had to have seen each other at some point after that, but maybe not."
Jack gave Holly a look, eyeing her up and down. It instantly made Holly's heart drop to the pit of her stomach. She was disgusted by him. "Oh trust me. I would have remembered if I saw you again." He stared into her eyes again. "So tell me, what's been going on in your life? anything new? Or should I say someone new?"
Kill me now. "No, just regular things," Holly said with an awkward laugh, running her hands through her hair. "Work has been busy which Is nice. I just started at the Harlem-"
"You're a nurse right?" He questioned, interrupting her. "You know, nursing in the next twenty years could be completely replaced with A.I. You may want to start looking into different options. Rand Enterprises is always hiring. We could use a secretary as beautiful as you. Would help increase business."
Holly let out a small breath as she wore a smile on her lips. "Oh as much as I appreciate the offer, my master's of science in nursing shows I'm much more than just some good looks." She took a large sip from her drink, and just as he was about to speak, she excused herself from the conversation. "I think I just heard Foggy calling my name, I should probably go see what he needs." She smiled as she handed him her empty glass. "Enjoy the party, Jack."
Holly quickly pushed past groups of people, finding Matt alone in the corner with a beer bottle in his hand. They were far enough back that nobody could see them. Even if they could, Holly didn't care. It was better than being stuck talking about Jack's victories in life.
"Rand Enterprises, huh?" Matt questioned, turning his head in the direction of Holly. "You thinking of taking the job?" He asked jokingly.
Holly rolled her eyes, peaking her head up to make sure nobody could see them. The last thing she needed was a drunk Foggy to find them together. She liked being alone with Matt. It was the first time the entire night in which she didn't have to fake a smile or laugh along with jokes that weren't necessarily funny. They could live in their bubble. Their little world.
"You could have come to my aid," Holly nudged his shoulder with a small smile. "I needed you over there. You heard how bad the conversation was. I was being offered a job as a hot secretary and God knows how I would have to interview for that position." By the look of it, Holly was disgusted even thinking of that idea. "Why didn't you help?"
"You're a strong woman. I knew you could easily handle him yourself."
Holly blushed on the spot. She liked knowing Matt thought of her as someone independent and strong. Someone who didn't need a group of men to protect her in a time of distress.
"But, next time you need me though," Matt paused, swiping his tongue over his lips. "Use your words." He teased, twisting the blade with his mocking retort. Completely obliterating the idea that he was more of a feminist than she was, even if it was just a joke. She swallowed hard, feeling dizzy just at the thought of the last time she heard those words.
Holly tried to collect herself. She hated the effect he had on her sometimes. "What've you been doing over here all night? I haven't seen you leave this corner since Foggy got here?"
"I've been trying to reach Ben." Matt placed his free hand in the pocket of his trousers. "He isn't picking up and I just want to see when he was planning on releasing the article. The last thing I need is for Fisk to get to the public before Ben's writing does."
Holly reached her hand over, grabbing Matt's from his pocket and intertwining her fingers in his. "This will all be over soon. I know it will." She offered him a small smile, one of which he could hear radiating pure bliss from her lips. "Things always work out in the end. No matter how much it sucks now, it will find a way to work." Holly paused. "Another Anna Nelson quote for you."
Matt smiled, laughing softly. "Ah yes, the wise words of Anna Nelson." The pair both remained hidden behind the crowd of people, keeping their intertwined hands hidden between them. "Speaking of your mom, where is she? I was gonna go ask her if she needed any help."
Holly nodded over to the front of the shop where Anna was now engaged in some sort of conversation with every one of Foggy's friend's parents. Seeing her like this was like deja vu from when she used to have Holiday parties growing up. She remembered how all the parents would congregate in one corner while the rest of the children roamed the rest of the shop as if it was their own.
"She's talking with some other parents. I think she's talking to The Parker's but I'm not sure." Holly shook her head, turning back to Matt. "I needed a break from everyone. I'm pretty sure if I was stuck in another conversation I would have screamed at someone."
Holly never really relied on anyone. Until she fell for Matt. She went weak at the mere sight of the man. It was the same biological instinct that fucked with her head time and time again--liking the thought of feeling safe under his touch. Like he was her only way to feel okay. Feminists be damned.
Holly moved her head to Matt's shoulder, listening as he let out a small burst of laughter as he wrapped his arm around the girl. He liked that he was the one she came to for comfort. He was the person who she felt at peace with, who she felt safe with. It was how he wished she felt every day. But he knew that wasn't the case. For her, most of the time she was so filled with anxiety that her stomach wouldn't release the tension feeling until her back hit the mattress at night.
Matt liked that there was a side of her that needed him. No matter where they were, she sought him out even for a fleeting second of a smile that reassured her that he was listening. That he was right there. As if it was a hug to her.
"Well, I'm glad you know your limits." Matt smiled gently down at her, pressing a small kiss to the top of her head. Holly got a small idea as she was pressed against Matt, one that instantly made her smile.
"Can you hear if anyone's upstairs?" She questioned, peaking her head up in his direction.
Matt waited a moment, putting a listening ear out before shaking his head. "Nope. Empty. Why?"
Holly smiled to herself as she took his hand, tugging him across the floor as she raced towards the door that lead to the staircase. They both ducked their heads, hiding from the group of people who were up by the front of the store singing loudly into the karaoke machine.
Matt smiled at the joy that radiated off Holly's voice as she whisper yelled for him to hurry up. No matter how many times he asked her where they were going, she never responded. She just kept smiling and pulling him up the staircase until finally they were met with an empty apartment-like layout upstairs.
All the lights were off, and the door to every room was shut. The sound of the music downstairs was barely audible as it bounced off the wooden floorboards that were being covered with different colored household furniture. The walls that held family photos rattled with every voice that boomed into the microphones downstairs.
Finally, after pulling him across the floor one final time, Holly pressed down on the handle leading into a room. She smiled as the entire room came into her view, moving Matt inside before she closed the door behind them.
"Can you tell me where we are now?" He questioned as he reached out, pressing his hands to Holly's hips. "Or is it still going to remain a mystery?"
"This is my childhood room." Holly beamed, taking his hands in hers as she guided him across the room, placing him down on the bed.
Matt lay flat on his back, settling himself into the lavender duvet that had small green plants imprinted on each of the squares. He listened as Holly moved across the room, plugging lights into an outlet. Within seconds, the entire room was lit up with starlight's that were hung around the perimeter, almost as bright as Holly's smile.
Holly rushed over to the bed, falling on her back next to Matt as he wrapped his arm around her body, keeping her pinned to his side as if she was his possession.
"So, why exactly did you bring me up here?" Matt questioned, turning his head in her direction as he pressed small kisses to her neck.
"Because in my family it's an honor to go in my room," Holly said as she turned her head towards Matt. Their faces were barely inches apart as Holly's soft voice spoke through cherry red lipstick that lined her lips. "Nobody ever goes in my room. Not even my friends were allowed in my room growing up."
Matt furrowed his brows. "Those were your parent's rules?"
"No, mine." Holly faced forward, looking up at the ceiling that was covered in the small neon green press-on stars. Somehow they still hadn't fallen off despite the years that had passed. "This room was my comfort place growing up. When I would feel overwhelmed, anxious, sad, you name it, I would come up here and turn on my lights and play one of my records and let myself calm down. I did it at almost every family gathering." Holly smiled to herself. "It was an easy way for me to escape my little cousins."
Matt smiled at her, still keeping his head faced in her direction. "So if you never let anyone up here, why did you bring me in here?"
Holly pursed her lips in concentration, "Because just like this room you are my comfort." She turned to face him, now lying on her side. "And this room wouldn't feel as comforting if you were downstairs instead of here with me."
Matt just about fell apart on the spot. The feeling those words gave him was reflected in him. It was undeniable.
"Well, I'm honored to be up here with you, Holly Nelson." Matt began to speak softly into his gentle, unimpressive voice before pressing a kiss to her temple. His hands moved up her body, stopping at the necklace she wore--the same one Matt had given her on her birthday. "You look beautiful tonight by the way." He quietly commented, smiling small.
Holly smiled. "And how would you know?"
"I don't need to see you to know you look beautiful." He said. "I think you're beautiful every minute of the day, no matter the occasion."
Joy bubbled up inside Holly as she let his complimentary words wash over her. She couldn't contain the ever-growing blush that covered her cheeks. Leaning in, she placed a delicate kiss on his lips, smiling against them. As she pulled away, she brought one hand up to his face and caressed his cheek, lightly scratching underneath his jaw and enjoying the graze of his stubble on her fingertips.
"Your very charming, you know that?" She teased.
Matt scrunches his nose and shrugs as he smirks. "I've been told."
Without a moment of hesitation, Holly smiles as she leans in even further, letting their lips crash like white water to sand. Her mouth tasted like the sweetness of the bubbly champagne downstairs, while his tasted like the cheap beer everyone had been consuming throughout the night. Both of their tongues tasted like pure intoxication, mirroring how they felt for each other.
Matt's hands moved to her hips as he moved her to her back, hovering over her body as he placed his knee down in the middle of her legs, letting her dress ride up her legs. His lips moved to her throat, kissing and nipping at the sweet perfume she wore. The same scent of gardenias that usually coated her skin. The same scent that would permanently be engraved in his mind as Holly.
Her hands run down from his chest to his pants, fumbling over his belt as quickly as she could, desperate to get it off. Within a few seconds, the button to his pants was open, and the material was well across the room on one of Holly's old stuffed animals. In her mind, she couldn't help but think how traumatizing that was for it. He had seen her grow up, and now...well...he was seeing much more.
Holly let out a soft moan at the feeling of his fingers running up the inside of her thigh. Her hands ran to the back of his neck, running up and into his hair as she fists his brown fluff into her hands.
Their lips were moving over each other with a fiery and burning passion as they completely melted together. Her hands ran down to his chest, lifting the dark blue long sleeve off his body as she tossed it with the rest of his clothes. They were so engrossed in the moment with each other that they completely forgot about where they were, or who was around--
--Or who had just opened her door at that exact moment.
"Matt?!"
Holly ripped her lips from Matt's as both their heads faced Foggy's direction. He was absolutely fuming. Their bodies were still wrapped together, surrounded by the pillows that covered Holly's bed, along with a few stuffed animals that Holly's mother had thrown on her bed when vacuuming her room. Their lips kissed stained, their hair mussed. In the throes of passion.
There was no mistaking it. No excuses. Nowhere to hide. They were caught and that was it. Matt was hovering over Holly in nothing but his boxers with a look of pure shock radiating from his face. Their secret affair was discovered. However they wanted to put it, it didn't matter. They were screwed.
They all remained frozen where they were as more voices called for Holly and Foggy. But neither of them could respond. They were covered with pure shock. They couldn't move. They were too stunned to even speak. Slowly, Holly glanced over at Matt, then back to Foggy.
"Happy Birthday, Fog." She chuckled, her voice up an octave.
Fuck.
A/N- HA. I really had you all thinking Foggy was gonna find out peacefully.
I love Holly and Matt and I think they are incredibly smart as individuals, but something about them together, they become fucking idiots. And I love them for that.
This story has been pretty light and airy for the most part, but get ready for some real shit coming soon. We have about two (possibly three) chapters left before 'Exile' is completely finished, so prepare yourselves.
Have a great day/night and stay safe <3
