"That's Raisa's apartment."
"I'm glad everything turned out fine," Vera mentioned as she was applying lotion on her arms and legs, sitting in her night robe. She sat in front of the huge mirror, watching him lying on their bed.
Rurik, who was busy admiring his wife, hummed upon hearing her.
"Is Raisa inside?" Rurik asked as he slid down his car window, approaching the penthouse security.
"Yes boss, she is here," the man answered. The huge gates opened in front of Rurik's car as he entered the parking area.
Vera bit her lip, not liking Rurik's silence. "Malysh, I'm the only one who should be biting that lip."
Her eyes widened as she immediately let her lower lip go while a red hue painted her cheeks. Clearing his throat, he exited the vehicle along with her.
"Ma'am your uncle is here to see you," a guard informed Raisa who was using her phone in peace.
Rurik entered the penthouse as Raisa descended the stairs upon being notified about his presence.
She watched her uncle and he seemed furious. "What's going on?"
"Anya is here with you isn't she?" His question was sharp and frosty, leaving no room for friendliness or compassion.
"Uh, no...?" Her voice trembled as she failed to hide her fear and come up with a proper excuse.
Just then someone glided down the stairs and everyone's eyes moved over to hers. "Ray, what's going on?"
She stopped as soon as she saw her wide-eyed sister and a fuming Rurik.
...
"When were you going to tell me, Anya?" Vera asked as everyone sat in Raisa's living room. The atmosphere was filled with palpable tension, the kind that made people forget how to breathe.
Anya gulped and sighed, closing her eyes for a second. "I didn't know how to tell you. I'm sorry."
"It's fine, I guess. I mean I didn't know you liked girls. We never talked about your love life anyway," Vera replied.
"True. I just- I knew you would accept me for who I am but I don't think Mom and Dad will."
...
"This is ridiculous! It's just a phase, Anya. It will go away," Vera's father tried reasoning with Anya who rolled her eyes, her jaw clenched in anger.
"I knew you two wouldn't understand. You will never understand us. Either it's me or Vera."
Vera and Rurik watched as her parents didn't listen to Anya at all while her mother watched silently.
"You did this, didn't you?" Her father turned to her while she was confused.
"What?" she asked.
"You were always a disappointment and you've turned her into one too! You-"
Before her father could lash out at her, Rurik spoke in his deadly tone. "Watch how you speak to my wife, Mr. Borisova."
Vera watched in disbelief as tears threatened to spill down her cheeks. She never thought she'd see the day when her father would embarrass her in front of him.
"Mr. Rurik I'm sorry but Vera is my daughter. She's nothing but a disappointment to us who has never done anything but humiliate us," he replied, his words causing his beloved daughter to feel lower. Her heart broke hearing him talk this way.
Rurik's eyes darkened with fury, his body tensing like a coiled spring. Without a second thought, he lunged forward, his hand gripping her father's collar in a white-knuckled vise. The force of the movement pulled him off balance, their faces now inches apart. Rurik's voice, low and trembling with rage, cut through the stunned silence that had fallen over the room.
"I told you to watch how you speak with her. She may be your daughter who you have wronged her, whole life but I won't let that happen anymore," He hissed, his face inches apart from him.
Gasps echoed from the onlookers, their eyes wide with shock. The room seemed to freeze at that moment, every eye fixed on the confrontation.
"Rurik, don't," he let go of her father when he heard his wife's timid voice making him glance at her. Her teary eyes held woefulness which made him move towards her.
He wiped away her tears and held her hands. "We're not coming back until you apologize to her."
They left the house and retreated back to his car. "Malysh don't cry. It breaks my heart when you do that."
Vera gave him a half smile. "I'm not. Let's go." He started the car reluctantly and proceeded to drive off.
"I would've killed him for touching you though," he said as Vera rolled her eyes with a chuckle.
"What's on your mind?" She asked.
He sat up against the headboard. "I want to know what you wanted to study before getting married to me."
She turned toward him and smiled. "Why is that important?"
"You're my wife. Everything about you is important to me."
Vera thought for a moment. "I was going to apply for electrical engineering."
"That's settled. You will apply and go to college," Rurik replied and opened his phone, calling someone.
After his call where he had told Ivano to get everything done for her, Vera couldn't help but giggle. The man who would kill people and leave with no mercy is actually caring and sweet.
"Thank you, Rurik. I really appreciate it," she said as he sat back down, moving over to her.
"You shouldn't thank me. I would do anything for you," he responded as Vera moved onto his lap. Cupping his cheek, she placed her lips on his.
His tongue met hers in a deep passionate kiss, his hands roamed inside her silk shirt taking it off and leaving her in her bra.
As they were busy, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them. It was a kiss filled with unspoken words, promises, and memories, with the deep connection they had forged over time.
Vera's hands found their way to Rurik's shoulders, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened. It was sweet and slow, each movement deliberate and filled with emotion. The world around them seemed to disappear completely, leaving only the warmth of their embrace and the gentle caress of their lips.
When they finally pulled apart, their foreheads rested against each other, and they shared a quiet, contented smile. No words were needed; the kiss had said everything. The intimacy of the moment lingered, wrapping them in a cocoon of love and tenderness.
"I love you Rurik," Vera mumbled breathlessly, making him grin.
"I love you too malysh. These few weeks with you have been amazing. You are someone I'll always love forever," he spoke with gentleness in his voice as they both kissed yet again.
Their clothes were on the floor as the night went on. The night was still and quiet, with only the soft hum of the city in the distance.
It wasn't about grand gestures or passionate declarations. It was about the simple, profound connection they shared, the unspoken bond that held them together. In that quiet, tender moment, their love spoke volumes.
Their bodies moved in simple harmony as the room was filled with not just lust but the love they felt for each other.Β
