It all comes down to this, the day of the finale. National and International Producers have been voting for the past week to determine the final lineup.

The trainees will have two final performances before the final ranks will be revealed, along with the name of the final group.

charlotte ashbourne (5 // sm): so much... you don't even know. but, whatever happens is decided now, there's no use worrying about it.

kim chungha (dance mentor): and choonchee! wow! she is so charismatic, this concept suits her very well. i'm impressed.

kim hyuna (rap mentor): unfortunately... hyunjin's rapping falls a little flat... i just don't think she had enough rap training to pull it off perfectly. her voice is better suited to vocals.

how about the second performance where the national producers chose the positions?

'highlight' was written for the finale as well, but it showcases a more sexy and girl crush concept compared to la vie en rose. how well will the trainees do?

jung hoseok (dance mentor): stop! it's not right... you're all doing the move correctly, but it's not about the move, it's about your expressions. you really have to sell it. try again.

jung hoseok (dance mentor): everyone should perform the song more like chaerin... she really had the facials down. seohyun too. some of you are a little young for the concept, but you still need to do your best to pull it off.

jung hoseok (dance mentor): she struggled initially, but she put in a lot of work. the national producers were wise in putting her into that role.

jeon jungkook (vocal mentor): it's just a bummer that only six of them will debut... i wish we could just sign under all the trainees that don't make it under bighit.

kim namjoon (rap mentor): i don't know if bang pd-nim would go for that... but i know he is interested in forming a new girl group.

kim hyuna (rap mentor): well whatever they do... i hope they don't sign with cube.

after the two performances, it's time for the final ranking... but first, the name of the debut group will be announced!

park jimin (national rep): it's been quite the journey girls... we, the mentors and I, have seen you blossom from trainees into ready to debut idols. but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and I will begin with the twelfth place ranking.

in twelfth place is a trainee who had been steadily climbing the rankings, a rapper...

lee chaerin (??? // bighit): why must the clues be so vague? why must it go on and on for dramatic effect? why can't there just be a list of trainees??

[ 12. HWANG HAYUN <IND> ]

though the position is lower than her previous rankings, no one is quite surprised to see hayun take twelfth place. there is a disappointed murmur from her fans in the audience, but hayun seems proud to take the microphone from jimin in rank twelve.

hwang hayun (12 // individual):  this was kinda expected, wasn't it? haha i actually knew this was gonna happen as soon as i saw the other trainees, not that i hate them or something, they're just hella talented AND pretty. anyways, i would like to thank my fans and family, of course, for supporting me through my short journey here. but like they say, the end of a journey is a start to a new one so it's not gonna be the last time you all would see me. watch out for the one and only, hwang hayun!

park jimin (national rep): and coming in rank twelve, with over 500,000 votes is one of our dance trainees....

shin eunjin (??? // individual): for once I wasn't wishing it was me... all I want is to be in the final lineup... I don't think I've ever wanted more in my life. but now I wonder if I wasn't serious enough at the beginning of this competition, will the national producers hold it against me?

[ 11. KWON CHOONCHEE <YUEHUA> ]

choonchee, who had been a popular trainee towards the beginning of the competition, seemed to be a little sad to have made it into the debut lineup, but still seemed pleased with the result of making it to the finale and getting to be the center of a performance.

kwon choonchee (11 // yuehua): ah... it doesn't quite feel real that it's over yet. it feels like tomorrow morning I'm still going to wake up to 'pick me' and have to run down to breakfast before rehearsal... it's unfortunate that I wasn't able to make it into the final group, but i'll continue my dream of debut. i'll be sure to work extra hard. i'm thankful to even make it this far into the show. thank you again!

park jimin (national rep): in tenth place is a young trainee with big dreams and an even bigger voice...

[ 10. KANG HYUNJIN <SM> ]

even though hyunjin was in the debut lineup several times during the competition, it seemed like she was unable to pull through into the final lineup. there is audible shock however; as hyunjin had been a major fan favorite among the vocalists.

kang hyunjin (10 // sm): another chance that I blew up... i'm sorry to all my fans who have supported me throughout my second journey. and I want to say sorry to my brother, Taehyun who's currently a trainee at Starlight Entertainment. he's been with me through every step of my life and I've let him down. i'm sorry for not living up to my fans and I'll come back with a better and more refined side of me later.

park jimin (national rep): in ninth place is a trainee you wouldn't expect. her rank has fluctuated several times throughout the show.

choi seohyun (??? // individual): why do I feel like every single one of these could be me... but at the same time definitely is not... fingers crossed we're three places up from here though!

[ 9. LEE SURAN <CUBE> ]

this one also comes as a shock as suran fell several places to her final rank. she was the fan favorite rapper, which leaves only one rapper eligible for the debut lineup from the top twelve. but suran holds her head up as she goes to take the microphone.

lee suran (9 // CUBE): well this is not the first time i've disappointed people...I don't really know what I'll be doing after this but I'm not giving up, this girl has too much swag and sass to give up. don't give up and remember the swag queen suran! 

park jimin (national rep): let's mix things up and reveal the first member of the DEBUT LINEUP! coming in fifth place is our renowned visual vocalist...

bae chowon (??? // individual): the air was so tense! terrifying! I knew it wasn't me but I was still terrified!

[ 5. KIM SORA <JYP> ]

Sora jumping up five places was not unexpected, she was always a favorite, and even though her ranking had dropped, the national producers just loved her bunny smile too much to leave her out of the final group.

kim sora (5 // JYP):oh wow this is amazing...like I'm speechless... this whole adventure has been exciting in so many ways and maybe even stressful but now that I'm standing here...it's all worth it in the end!

park jimin (national rep): in fourth place... another dancer known for pulling off both cute and sexy concepts...

yang li mei (??? // yuehua): my odds of making it into the group are so small they are practically nonexistent. what's more interesting is that the next girl in the lineup is eunjin or seohyun, and both of them look like they might have a panic attack live on national television.

[ 4. SHIN EUNJIN <INDIVIDUAL> ]

eunjin had high odds of making it, but there's still a loud applause from the audience as many of her family and friends, along with fans from busan came to see the finale.

shin eunjin (4 // individual): uhm... first of all *screams* OMG! I can't believe this is happening oh gosh! everything today feels like a dream, this is like my greatest dream and finally coming true... thank you everyone! thank you very much!

park jimin (national rep): you're probably wondering who will be taking home the crown tonight huh? well let's just get that out of the way by revealing the top three trainees.

but who will take the crown?

[ 1. LEE CHAERIN <BIGHIT> ]

no one is surprised to see chaerin regain first place, though she does receive deafening cheers from all her fans in the audience.

lee chaerin (1 // bighit): I am so grateful that I am able to be in the top 6, this second chance truly is amazing.. I am able to make new friends and learn new things ever since the start of this journey... sure there were problems, but problems are what make people stronger... the more you encounter problems, the more experience you will get. i'm never going to forget about this experience because the feeling I'm feeling..it's so hard to describe I can only say this, thank you...

park jimin (national rep): and in second place, another vocalist, this time a shining foreigner...

[ 2. CHARLOTTE ASHBOURNE <SM> ]

charlotte was also popular throughout the show. though many of the trainees are foreigners, charlotte never adopted a korean name. she is seen as an inspiration by many international fans.

charlotte ashbourne (2 // sm): now that I have came here and i know that i have made it this far... I am really proud of myself and i am so happy, i feel flattered with all my supporters and all of my fans being there beside me through ups and downs of the competition... thank you everyone, i love you all!

park jimin (national rep): which means our third place contestant should be obvious, let's give a cheer for this monster rookie, vocalist and dancer...

[ 3. CHOI SEOHYUN <INDIVIDUAL> ]

seohyun is also a favorite among international fans, her humor and relatability makes her extremely popular among younger fans.

Choi Seohyun (3 // individual): ah.. [rubs her eyes] there were a lot of hard times we had to go through and sometimes i didn't have the strength to keep going but now i'm here.. i'm grateful that we were able to share a lot of memories together and i want to say thank you to everyone who always supported and motivated me throughout the show, especially to to my fellow teammates and mentors. i'll keep working hard and i won't disappoint you guys for sure. we will meet again soon!

park jimin (national rep): this means there are three candidates left for the sixth and final spot in the debut lineup.

park jimin (national rep): the sixth member of bouquet will be a rapper.

[ 6. BAE CHOWON <INDIVIDUAL> ]

this is by far one of the biggest plot twists of the night as chowon had never been a part of the debut lineup, and here she was ahead of two of the most popular trainees on the show. quite the accomplishment.

bae chowon (6 // individual): gosh I didn't even really plan much to say but ahh I can't believe that I would get this much support...thank you all!! I love you!!

park jimin (national rep): let's reveal the last two places, in seventh place...

[ 7. PARK ATHENA <PLEDIS> ]

this is also a shock considering athena hadn't dropped out of the top 6 in weeks, but she takes her seventh place position with pride and dignity.

park athena (7 // pledis): uhh, this is... a bit disappointing, isn't it? such a pity... well anyways, i would like to say thank you to my fans, friends and family for always supporting me and loving me, seriously, without all of you, i wouldn't be here. for the rest of the trainees, congrats! you've all made it so far and you guys 100% deserve it. uhh good luck to bouquet, i will for sure work harder next time to not disappoint you all! always and forever, athena!

park jimin (national rep): and in eighth place, a trainee who has struggled a lot to prove herself this season...

[8. YANG LI MEI <YUEHUA> ]

there's a significant amount of tears for li mei, and not just from the girl herself. though she may not have as many fans as the more popular trainees, she was well liked by everyone and her fans were very dedicated.

yang li mei (8 // yuehua): I failed to reach my dream of becoming an idol but that doesn't mean I'm gonna give up completely, I'm going to train harder but not to become an idol, but for my chance to become an actress either in China or Korea. i was first meant to become an actress but I lost my path and ended up walking a different one. to the trainees I've worked with I apologize for my wrongdoings all through the show and I hope you accept my apology, never give up on your dreams please promise me that!

park jimin (national rep): and finally, let's reveal the seventh and final member of bouquet... though she wasn't seen much on the show, the national producers and mentors agree that this trainee deserves the spot...

jung yena (x // jyp): it's kind of strange because I've already given an elimination speech on this show, but here I am now getting a chance to debut... ah... i still cant believe this is happening right now! i want t-to thank everyone who supported me! you guys mean the world to me! i also want to thank my family, who raised me to be like this, i just want to let my family know that they are my everything! also, congratulations to the other chosen trainees! and to those who got eliminated, i hope you wont give up! just look at me!

park jimin (national rep): congratulations to the seven final members of bouquet, lee chaerin, charlotte ashbourne, choi seohyun, shin eunjin, kim sora, bae chowon, and jung yena. good luck on your debut!

i had such a good time writing this... i think it's over 50,000 words, so i spent most of the summer on it, but i'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. 

please don't be mad with the final lineup. that is how it was voted directly, none of the active check points changed anything, so that is the lineup that the most people wanted!
