Dorcas Sarah Meadowes said it when Lily helped James Potter in Potions during first year.

Everyone was shocked because Lily and James always snapped at each other, but Dorcas wasn't surprised. She merely smirked and gave Lily a knowing wink.

'I thought she didn't like him!' A Ravenclaw whispered to her friend.

'Nah, she likes him,' Dorcas murmured.

Marlene Melissa McKinnon said it when Lily went to the quidditch match in second year.

She only smiled and at that moment, it was the first time she and Sirius Black agreed on something.

She watched as Lily's eyes stayed on James as he flew around the pitch.

'How's she here? I thought she didn't like Quidditch!' A Gryffindor muttered to his friend.

Marlene turned and glared.

'She likes Quidditch, and someone else too,' was her brilliant answer.

Remus John Lupin said it when she healed James' injuries after a nasty fight with Slytherins in third year.

He stayed back, a ghost of smile on his lips as he watched both of his best friends in the middle of the corridor.

'I thought she didn't give a damn about him!' A Ravenclaw mumbled.

'She cares,' Remus said. 'She cares a lot.'

Alice Florence Prewett said it when Lily yelled at him for trying to jump from the astronomy tower in fourth year.

'You could have died!' She had yelled.

'Relax Evans, it was only a dare!' James tried to explain.

'She doesn't like him, why does she care?' Peter Pettigrew wondered. Alice looked down at him. She was taller than him.

'Because,' she said, 'you can't just see your love die.'

He looked as though she had said a hilarious joke.

But no, she didn't dislike James Potter, nah. She didn't.

Emmeline Karen Vance said it when Lily and James became friends after The Lake Incident in fifth year.

They were laughing in the common room, looking comfortable in each other's presence.

A third year behind her frowned.

'I thought they didn't get along well!' She whisper-shouted to her friend, jealousy visible in her eyes.

'Nah,' Emmeline smiled, 'they get along wonderfully.'

Minerva Athena McGonagall said it when they started dating at the end of sixth year. She watched from the teacher's table as Potter and Evans playfully fought and laughed.

'I thought he'd end up disappointed!' Professor Mariam McDonnell whispered.

'Nah,' Minerva smiled, 'I knew this would happen.'

Euphemia Fleamont Potter said it when they were engaged at the end of seventh year.

She had taken up the job of the DADA professor for this year. She was reading a letter from Dorea while sitting in The DADA classroom.

I never thought they'd date! Let alone get engaged!, Dorea had written.

Euphemia pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote:

It was bound to happen, sooner or later.

'I thought she hated him! How come they married?' An elder woman whispered.

He smirked and turned around.

'Nah, she didn't,' he said, 'she loved him.'
