Margaret had seen her father off as he left to return to their family home Hever. She kept thinking back to what he had said a few nights ago, Her father wasn't one to worry about anything unless he had to.
At first Margaret just thought Anne was being dramatic. In most cases her elder sister was. Her own father who raised her and got Anne and Margaret to where they were had pleaded with her to speak with the king. For not only their family but her son.
Margaret sighed as she hesitated to knock on Henry's meeting doors. She knew Thomas Cromwell would likely answer. And he would hear her out, he may hate Anne, but Margaret has not given the man a reason to hate her yet.
Margaret wanted to walk away, she wanted to go see her son. But she couldn't because her father had asked her to speak with him and she was going to see it through.
She took a deep breath as she knocked on the door. She then took a step back hoping that no one would answer, hoping that Thomas Cromwell was somewhere else and far too busy to be hearing the Boleyn woman out.
But that wasn't the case as the door opened and it was not Thomas Cromwell who stood there but the king. Of course he would be the one to answer, Margaret had somewhat forgotten that this was also his meeting room.
Either way It was Henry who she needed to speak with.
Henry looked Margaret up and down and knew she was nervous, he had known her long enough to know what she was feeling.ย For god sake she was the mother of his only son and the woman he claimed to love. But looking at her all he could think about was the situation between Anne and George. And what he was planning to do. But he needed to hear whatever Margaret was going to say and he needed to make sure that her brother had been nowhere near her.
"Your majesty" Margaret finally spoke up, cutting the awkward silence "I-i need to speak to you. Of course if you have a mee-"
Henry cut the Boleyn off before she could say anything else "I will always hear you out Margaret. Come in, i don't have any meetings till later"

"Lady Bryan" Mary Tudor smiled at the woman who she had somewhat grown to like "I was just coming to see if my brother needs tending to"
"The prince is asleep now, but the princess would like some company" Lady Bryan admits "She is talking a lot and fussing whenever she is alone. But if you would like to retire for the day lady Mary I shall not stop you"
"No no I shall tend to Elizabeth, that was why I was placed here. It was not James his majesty and the Queen wanted me to care for" Mary reminds her "The queen placed me here to show me my place. That her family have the upper hand and no one cares for me"
"Lady Mary I am only going to speak out of term once, but every time that Lady Margaret has visited to see the young prince she has also visited you. The king has even allowed you back to the castle"
"I should go tend to Elizabeth"
"Of course"

Margaret stood in the room as she heard the doors close behind her, Henry walked away from the doors and over to the table where he ran one of his hands along the wooden table till he stopped and looked up at Margaret.
"My father, he wished for me to seek you out and speak with you" Margaret admitted straight away.
Henry simply nodded his head not able to take his eyes of her "And why is that"
"Henry, he thinks my family is at risk, I don't know why he would. But he also says m- our son is involved in whatever is going to happen'' Margaret states as she looks up at him and almost forgot what the man had done to his late wife. He had sent her away, annulled their marriage, made her step niece a bastard.
"If you plan to annul your marriage with my sister then do so and be done with all this bother" Margaret snaps "And do not drag the rest of my family into this, do not drag me or my son into this. I would have been in France if it were not for him. So tell me do you plan on doing that to Anne, Elizabeth And James. Because if you do I'll be happy enough to take James to France"
"He is my heir no matter what happens. He will remain at Hatfield and you shall remain here" Henry hisses.
"You didn't deny it, You cannot do this to her, you cannot do this again Henry"
"I am the king of England, Margaret and I can do as I please"
"And she is your wife, what do you think the people will do if you annual another marriage? You changed everything to be with Anne. You are a fool if you think they shall accept it" Margaret states "You are a fool if you think I shall stay here if my sister is exiled. What reason has she gave you to even think of this Henry"
"You don't know" Henrys asked as Margaret shakes her head. The only reasons she could think of was that Anne would be replaced by the Seymour girl or because Anne had yet to welcome a son.
Henry sighed not knowing if he could lie to her, he was making a case against Anne for cheating, incest and other things. But if Margaret truly knew nothing and he told her. She could easily convince him to drop it. That was how much she meant to him.
It was true that a kings greatest enemy was love for another.
"Henry what do I not know" Margaret snapped him out of his thoughts as he walked over to her and stopped when they were mere inches apart "Henry"
"Swear to me you know nothing, that Anne has told you nothing" Henry muttered as she looked up at him. If she wasn't confused before she was definitely now.
He sighed once more as he cupped her face and looked into her brown eyes.
"Henry I have no idea what is going on" Margaret muttered "What has she not told me"
"It does not matter, all that matters is you and our son" Henry admits as she nods her head "Know whatever happens I do love you"
"And what of Jane Seymour"
"What of her"
Margaret sighs as Henry keeps his gaze on her. She stays quiet as Henry and suddenly pulls her into a small kiss. Margaret doesn't believe what is happening as she shoves him of her and opens her mouth hoping for words to come out. But they don't.
This wasn't why she was here, but she couldn't deny that she had missed Henry and hated whenever she saw him with Jane. But she didn't know what was going to happen.
"Margaret" Henry muttered "do you remember when I told you I loved you"
"You said you loved me with all your heart" Margaret whispers "Why are you making me say this Henry"
"Nothing is going to happen to Anne unless she had done something" Henry half lies knowing that in a few months even weeks he would know the truth "But When I say this I mean it. Anne and I are done. Whatever love I had for her is gone. It has been since the day I told you I loved you"
"Don't lie to me"
Henry rolls his eyes as Margaret glares at him.
"I did see that you know" Margaret snarls as Henry takes her hands in his.
"James is my heir and it will stay like that now. Even if you do not love me and I have another son with someone else"
"I never said I didn't love you" Margaret muttered "And why would you sleep with others when you claim to love me"
"I'd never do that"
"You said that to Anne"
"And yet the only reason I ever fell for her was because you father out her up to"
"As he did me Henry"
"But you admit it Margaret and you have only ever crossed me once. And even then It was for a good reason" Henry rambles.
"I do love you, I have never stopped" Margaret mumbles.
"Then it is you I shall have at my side" Henry smiles softly at her "As the woman I love and the mother of my son"
"And you swear nothing is going to happen to Anne. She may hate me after this but she is my sister still" Margaret reminds him.
"As I have said sweetheart Anne shall be fine unless there is something she has not told me" Henry assures her.
"Then as my family motto and what you said, I love with my whole heart" Margaret grins as Henry kisses her forehead. Knowing her had somewhat lied to her.
Ethier way Margaret was going to be the woman he loved and the one he wanted as his Queen. But for now her not hating him was something he wanted to be kept like that.
But at the same time Margaret knew something was off and even if she lived the man in front of her and he claimed to love her.
She had known what he did to his late wife and she knew a king could never be trusted especially one who had changed his old country in order to marry the woman he loved.
