Love's Final Approval
While on the road, Y/N decided to call her mom to inform her that she was coming home. Her parents didn't know she was in India and staying at Saanvi's place. She figured it was time to fill them in.
"Mum, I'm on my way home," Y/N said as soon as her mom picked up.
"Are you on the flight?" her mom asked excitedly.
"No, I'm coming from Haryana. I arrived yesterday and went straight to Saanvi's place. I'll explain everything when I get home," Y/N explained, looking out the window at the passing fields and villages.
"And listen, Saanvi, Jungkook, and Taehyung are coming with me," she added, stealing a glance at her friends who were now listening intently.
"Here we go again with your delusions. You're too old for this drama," her mom sighed.
The phone was on speaker, and Saanvi, Jungkook, and Taehyung chuckled upon hearing this. Jungkook turned around in his seat, a mischievous grin on his face. "This is going to be interesting," he whispered.
"Mum, I'm serious," Y/N said, pouting as she fiddled with the edge of her shirt.
"What are you bringing? Their posters? Keychains? Albums? How much more delusional can you get? Next, you'll say that Taehyung, your 'eternal soulmate,' is coming to propose," her mom scoffed, leaving Y/N shocked at how her mother never took her seriously.
Saanvi nudged her, trying to suppress her laughter. "Well, she's not entirely wrong," Saanvi teased.
"Mum, it's not like that..." Y/N started to explain, but her mom cut her off, "Not another word, or I'll welcome you home with a broom. Drama queen."
"Fine, but don't blame me when they arrive and you're unprepared to welcome them," Y/N snapped, her frustration evident.
In the background, Y/N's brother could be heard saying, "Hang up the phone, Mom. She's lost it. We'll take her to a mental hospital when she gets here."
Y/N ended the call abruptly. "Great, no one ever takes me seriously. Delusional... crazy...," she fumed, crossing her arms and sinking back into her seat.
Everyone in the car was laughing, and Taehyung remarked, "I didn't know you've been dreaming about me for so long." Y/N glared at him angrily, her cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and irritation. Taehyung, sensing her mood, nervously started fanning her with his hand to calm her down.
Jungkook, trying to lighten the mood, leaned back and said, "Well, at least it'll be an interesting welcome home." Saanvi nodded in agreement, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Finally, they reached Y/N's house. Her brother was the first to rush out, hugging her tightly. But his eyes widened when he looked behind her. "B-BTS..." he muffled.
"No, I'm just delusional, remember?" Y/N said sarcastically.
"You still are..." he murmured as he broke the hug.
Then her mom and dad came outside and were equally shocked to see Taehyung and Jungkook standing there.
Her mom walked over to Y/N, whispering, "You really brought them here."
Before Y/N could respond, her mom walked past her, going straight to the boys. "Welcome, sons... consider this your home. Come inside," she said, guiding them into the house. Y/N's dad followed closely behind, still in a state of disbelief while signalling to Y/n and Saanvi, said, "You two, bring the luggage inside."
Y/N and Saanvi looked at each other, mouths open in shock. "Are we invisible now?" Saanvi muttered.
Y/N's brother laughed and started heading inside.
"Where do you think you're going? Help us with the luggage," Y/N ordered him.
"This is why it's better when you're not home," her brother, Aarav, grumbled as he began to pick up the bags.
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn't help but smile at the chaos unfolding. As they gathered the luggage and headed inside, she couldn't shake the feeling that this homecoming would be one to remember.
Inside, everyone was sitting and chatting while enjoying some snacks. The atmosphere was light and heartfelt, filled with laughter and excitement. The living room was cosy, decorated with family photos and warm lighting, creating a welcoming environment for their special guests.
"You know, I've been a fan of yours for a long time, even before my sister knew who you were," Aarav said excitedly, his eyes sparkling with admiration.
"Wow, so you introduced us to your sister," Taehyung exclaimed, looking genuinely impressed.
"Yes, and after that, she became delusional, dreaming about BTS all day long," Aarav chuckled, causing everyone to laugh.
Taehyung grinned at Y/N. "It’s nice to know we have such dedicated fans."
Aarav nodded enthusiastically. "You should see her room, it's like a BTS shrine."
"Really? Now I’m curious," Jungkook said, raising an eyebrow and sharing a conspiratorial smile with Taehyung.
A little while later, everyone gathered at the dining table for lunch. The table was filled with an array of delicious Indian dishes, and the aroma filled the room, making everyone's mouths water. Colourful plates of biryani, butter chicken, paneer tikka, and naan were spread out, accompanied by bowls of raita and chutney.
"Wow, Indian food has such incredible flavours," Jungkook said happily, his eyes twinkling with delight as he took in the feast before him.
Y/N's mom beamed with pride. "I'm glad you like it. We wanted to give you a true taste of our culture."
Jungkook eagerly picked up a piece of naan and dipped it into the butter chicken, savouring the rich flavours. "This is amazing," he declared, his face lighting up with every bite.
"Everything looks and smells amazing," Taehyung added, taking in the spread of dishes.
As they began to eat, Y/N's mom suddenly asked Taehyung, "Do you really love her?"
Taehyung nodded, trying to find the right words to express how much he loved their daughter.
"Are you sure, son?" her mom asked again, with a hint of concern. "It’s not like she has some personal photos or information of yours and blackmailed you into coming here, right?"
"Mummaaa..." Y/N yelled, her face turning red with embarrassment. Everyone burst into laughter, the tension easing immediately.
"Okay, jokes apart," Y/N’s dad said, his tone turning serious. "Why do you love our daughter?"
Taehyung sighed deeply, "That's a difficult question, uncle. I don’t have a specific reason to love her, and I don’t want to have one. I just love her, and that’s all I know."
He looked at Y/N with eyes full of affection. "She is my life. Even the thought of losing her scares me more than anything. I can’t live without her. Her smile makes my day. Her little mischiefs are so heartwarming."
As Taehyung explained, his eyes shone with an undeniable happiness. It was clear from the look on his face that he was deeply in love with her. The sincerity in his voice and the emotion in his eyes touched everyone at the table.
Y/N’s mom and dad exchanged a glance, both of them moved by Taehyung’s words. Saanvi nudged Y/N under the table, giving her a knowing smile.
"Well, we have no objections to this relationship. I can see how much Taehyung loves her. He looks at her with the same love and adoration that I have for her," Y/N's father said softly, smiling.
"Yeah, as long as she's happy with you, we have no issues," Y/N's mom added lovingly. "And the best part is, she's finally ready to get married. For the longest time, I was genuinely worried that with her behaviour and thinking, she would never settle down and end up living alone forever," her mother sighed.
Taehyung smiled gratefully, his eyes sparkling with relief and joy. "Thank you, it means a lot to me that you both accept us."
Y/N, overwhelmed by her parents' acceptance and Taehyung's heartfelt declaration, felt tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. She reached over and squeezed Taehyung's hand under the table, feeling a sense of completeness and contentment.
Saanvi, watching the scene unfold, whispered to Y/N, "Looks like you’ve got yourself a real-life fairy tale."
Y/N chuckled softly, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, it sure feels like it."
The rest of the meal was filled with light-hearted conversations, laughter, and the warm, comforting feeling of family and love.
In the evening, Y/N, Taehyung, Saanvi, and Jungkook went to meet Saanvi's siblings, who were also in Delhi.
Saanvi's sister, upon seeing them, said, "Oh, so you're the one my sister likes."
Jungkook just smiled, slightly embarrassed but happy. Saanvi's sister leaned in and whispered to her, "You've got yourself a great husband."
Then, turning to Jungkook and shaking his hand, she said, "Nice to meet you, Jiju." Hearing the term "Jiju" (brother-in-law), Jungkook's face lit up with joy. It was the first time anyone had called him that. While Taehyung had been called "jiju" by Saanvi before, it was a new and delightful experience for Jungkook.
Jungkook couldn't help but smile widely. "Nice to meet you too," he replied, clearly enjoying his new title.
Saanvi's brother joined in, saying, "Looks like my sister has good taste."
That night, after returning home, everyone settled in for dinner. The table buzzed with conversation and laughter as they enjoyed the meal together. After dinner, Y/N and Saanvi helped her mom with the dishes, while Y/N's brother headed to his room to study. Y/N's dad invited Taehyung and Jungkook for a night walk in the nearby park.
The park was peaceful, with the faint sound of crickets and a cool breeze rustling the leaves. As they walked along the tree-lined paths, Y/N's dad spoke up, breaking the comfortable silence. "Y/N is our only daughter, and we have raised her with a lot of love and care. So, please take good care of her," he said, his voice filled with both concern and hope.
Taehyung nodded, his expression serious and attentive. Y/N's dad continued, "She can be a bit stubborn, doesn’t listen to anyone, and values her independence greatly. She doesn’t like being told what to do, so you’ll need to handle her with care. She gets angry easily, but if you give her time, she’ll realize her mistakes and try to correct them." He sighed deeply, pausing to collect his thoughts. "I know she’s not perfect, but she has a good heart. Give her time and try to understand her."
Taehyung smiled warmly, feeling a deep sense of responsibility. He took Y/N's dad’s hand in his and said, "It's her stubbornness and independent nature that I love about her. Don’t worry, not just me, but the other BTS members also consider her a friend and treat her like a princess. We all take good care of her, and I promise I will too." His voice was steady and sincere. "As for her anger, if she gets mad, I'll step forward and make it right. It’s no big deal. If she can come into my world, adjust, and make it her own, the least I can do is be there for her."
Y/N's dad's eyes filled with tears as he listened to Taehyung’s heartfelt words. He pulled Taehyung into a tight hug. "May you both always stay happy and live a long life together," he said, his voice choked with emotion.
Jungkook, walking a few steps behind, smiled at the touching scene. He felt a deep sense of pride for his friend, who handled the conversation with such maturity and sincerity. The night was cool and serene, the stars twinkling brightly above them.
As they continued their walk, Y/N's dad shared more about their family history, their traditions, and the dreams he had for his children. Taehyung listened intently, asking questions and sharing his own stories in return. The bond between them grew stronger with each step.
Back at home, Y/N and Saanvi were finishing up in the kitchen. "Do you think they’re having a serious talk?" Saanvi asked, drying her hands.
Y/N nodded, a bit anxious but hopeful. "I think so. My dad is just being a protective parent."
In the park, Y/N's dad placed a hand on Taehyung's shoulder. "I trust you, Taehyung. You have a good heart, and I can see how much you care for Y/N. Just promise me one thing—always communicate, always be there for each other, and never let misunderstandings come between you."
Taehyung nodded earnestly. "I promise, sir. I’ll always be there for her, no matter what."
As they made their way back to the house, Jungkook glanced at Taehyung. "You handled that really well," he said quietly.
Everyone went to their rooms to sleep, but Y/N, too happy to sleep, quietly slipped out of her room after noticing that Saanvi was already asleep. She made her way to the balcony and stood there, staring at the glowing sky. The moon played hide and seek behind a small cloud, and the stars twinkled brightly. A cool, gentle breeze blew, making her hair dance lightly.
Suddenly, Taehyung came up from behind and hugged her, resting his head on her shoulder. "What are you doing, princess?" he asked softly in his husky voice.
"Just enjoying the night view. What about you?" Y/N replied, touching the hand Taehyung had placed on her stomach.
"I missed you," Taehyung whispered, kissing her cheek. Y/N smiled at his sweet gesture.
Taehyung moved to stand beside her, both now gazing at the sky. Y/N asked softly, "Did my dad say anything to you at the park?"
"Yes, he gave us his blessings and entrusted me with his only daughter," Taehyung replied with a smile.
Wrapping his arm around Y/N's shoulder, Taehyung said, "Finally, we have everyone's approval. Now, we just need my ARMY's approval."
Y/N giggled and said, "Yeah, we need our Army approval, but there's one more approval we need before we can get married."
"Who?" Taehyung asked, shocked and concerned about who this person might be and whether their approval would be easy to get.
Seeing Taehyung's expression, Y/N chuckled and said, "Relax, Tae. I need approval from the Indian government. There's a rule that Indian diplomats can't marry foreigners without government approval. But it won't be a problem; we'll get it easily."
"Oh, then that's fine. Go apply for the approval tomorrow," Taehyung said impatiently, eager to move forward.
Y/N laughed at his impatience and nodded. "I will, Tae. Don't worry."
They stood there in comfortable silence, the night wrapping around them like a warm blanket. The cool breeze, the starry sky, and the gentle rustling of the leaves made the moment magical.
“Approval is not just about acceptance, but about understanding and embracing each other’s worlds.”
