Dreams and Sacrifices

3 years later-

"Tae, please at least give me a chance to explain," Y/N said, her eyes brimming with tears, her voice trembling with desperation.

"What is there left to explain?" Taehyung shouted, his frustration boiling over, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.

"Tae, speak softly, please. You'll wake Lia. She just fell asleep," Y/N pleaded, glancing nervously toward the room where their daughter, Kim Lia, lay peacefully.

Lia, their four-month-old daughter, was their joy, their reason for everything. Even the mention of her name made Taehyung's eyes soften for a moment, but his anger quickly resurfaced.

"I don't want to argue with you anymore. Do whatever you want. It's not like you ever listen to anyone else anyway," Taehyung spat out, his voice seething with anger. He paced back and forth, his movements sharp and erratic.

Tears streamed down Y/N's cheeks, a lump forming in her throat as her chest tightened with emotion. She felt her heart breaking with each harsh word that left Taehyung's mouth.

"You not even considering how I might feel," Taehyung continued, hurt evident in his voice. He was too blinded by his own anger to notice Y/N's tears, too consumed by his own pain to see hers.

"Tae, it's not like that. I want to..." Y/N began, stepping closer, her hands reaching out to him, but Taehyung raised his hand, cutting her off. The gesture was final, a wall between them.

"I don't want to hear anything. Just leave me alone," he said, his voice breaking slightly before he turned away and stormed out, slamming the door behind him with a resounding crash that echoed through the silent house.

Y/N stood frozen for a moment, the silence in the room deafening after the intensity of their argument. "Tae, I never wanted to hurt you. But you could at least listen to me," she whispered to herself, her voice breaking as she sank to the floor. Her sobs were quiet. She wrapped her arms around herself, trying to hold together the pieces of her shattered heart.

Just then, the piercing cry of Lia filled the house, slicing through the heavy silence. Y/N's quickly wiped away her tears, her emotions still raw. She stood up, taking a deep breath to steady herself, and made her way to the room.

Inside the softly lit room, Y/N picked up Lia, her tiny body warm and comforting against Y/N's chest. As she cradled her daughter, Lia's cries subsided, replaced by soft, contented coos. The baby's small hands reached up, grasping at Y/N's hair and playfully tugging at the strands. Each gentle touch seemed to calm Y/N's frayed nerves.

Looking down at Lia's cherubic face, Y/N felt a wave of relief wash over her. Lia's innocent, toothless smile was a balm to Y/N's wounded heart, each giggle a reminder of the love they shared as a family. The sight of her daughter, so trusting and pure, made Y/N's pain feel just a little more bearable, melting some of the harsh edges of her heartache.

Meanwhile, outside, Taehyung was still seething as he stormed out of the house, his footsteps echoing with his frustration. He slammed the front door behind him and got into his car, gripping the steering wheel tightly. The engine roared to life, and he drove away, his mind racing with thoughts and unresolved anger.

He meandered through the streets, the cool night air doing little to cool his heated emotions. After some time, the adrenaline began to fade, and his mind slowly started to clear. He decided to head to Jungkook's place, hoping his friend could offer some clarity or at least a distraction from his spiralling thoughts.

Taehyung impatiently rang the doorbell, his finger pressing the button three times in rapid succession. Just as he was about to ring it again, Jungkook opened the door, his face showing a mix of frustration and exhaustion.

"Have some patience, bro. Saanvi just fell asleep. If you keep ringing the bell like that, you're going to wake her up," Jungkook said, trying to keep his voice low.

Taehyung let out a sarcastic laugh, his frustration bubbling over. "Why is she so eager to sleep, especially with everything that's happening?"

Jungkook looked at him with confusion. "You do know she's eight months pregnant, right? She just had a bout of vomiting and is trying to rest. What exactly did Saanvi do that has you so worked up?"

Taehyung's expression shifted to one of shock and disbelief. "Don't tell me you still don't know what Y/N and Saanvi have decided."

Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What, that they both decided to resign from their jobs?"

Taehyung's surprise deepened, his eyes widening as he took in Jungkook's calm demeanour. "And you're okay with this? You're speaking so casually about it?"

Jungkook gestured for Taehyung to come inside. They both moved to the living room, the soft glow of the lamps casting a warm light on their faces.

They settled onto the couch, and Jungkook leaned back, trying to remain composed. "Why should I have a problem with it? It's their lives and their decision. They have to do what's best for them right now."

Taehyung ran a hand through his hair, his frustration evident. "But don't you feel guilty? Just because they married us, they're having to give up their jobs and dreams. We're becoming obstacles in their path."

Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to maintain his calm. "Tae, how could you forget that Y/N is a mother to a four-month-old baby, and Saanvi is about to become a mother soon? You know how a mother's love works. They're ready to make any sacrifice for their children. It's not just about their careers; it's about their family."

Taehyung listened intently, his shoulders slumping slightly as he processed Jungkook's words. "I understand they're sacrificing their careers by resigning from their jobs, but it's not like their dreams are completely over. They're just pursuing a different dream now," Jungkook said, his tone calm but firm.

Taehyung's eyes widened in shock. "What new dream? Don't you remember how Y/N used to light up whenever she talked about her job back when she was a trainee in Korea? There was a special sparkle in her eyes, a passion that was hard to miss. She was so happy and fulfilled."

Jungkook nodded, his gaze steady. "Yes, I remember. But it seems like you haven't had a real conversation with Y/N about this. You've let your guilt and anger drive you into arguments instead."

Taehyung's frustration was evident in his clenched fists. "I feel a lot of guilt because, just because she married me, she had to resign from her job and give up her dream. I know her transfer was to another country and that this will happen every three years, but why couldn't we have moved to another country with her? Why did she have to quit her job?"

Jungkook took Taehyung's hand, his grip firm yet comforting. "You're still not seeing the bigger picture, Taehyung. For children, having both parents around and a stable, healthy environment is crucial for their development. Moving constantly would disrupt that stability."

He continued, his voice gentle but resolute, "If Y/N leaves Korea, how will Lia manage without her mother? And if Lia goes with Y/N, what about the fatherly love she needs from you? Also, consider if Y/N is transferred to an unsafe country. That situation could pose serious risks for Lia. Plus, a stable environment is essential for her growth. Constantly relocating would impact her education, her ability to form friendships, and her overall sense of security."

Taehyung's face softened as he absorbed Jungkook's perspective. He looked down, his expression troubled. "Yeah, I hadn't thought about it like that. I was so caught up in my own guilt, focusing only on how Y/N was giving up her dream for me."

Jungkook nodded, a reassuring smile on his face. "It's natural to feel guilty, but the best thing you can do is support each other through these changes. Recognize the sacrifices everyone is making and work together to find a solution that works for all of you. Sometimes, understanding the broader impact helps us see things more clearly."

"Kook, you handled this situation really well and understand Saanvi so thoughtfully. I failed this time and let my guilt and anger hurt my princess without even listening to her," Taehyung admitted, tears escaping from his eyes as he spoke.

"It's okay, Tae. Sometimes people make mistakes. Go home and talk to Y/N. Listen to her perspective and let her explain things," Jungkook said, offering his support with a reassuring tone.

"Yeah, I need to go. It's getting late, and she probably hasn't eaten anything without me," Taehyung said, standing up as he prepared to leave.

Back at home, Y/N had prepared the table for dinner and was waiting for Taehyung. She had set everything out, hoping he would come home soon, but she didn't want to disturb him with a call. As she sat at the dining table, waiting for him, her emotions began to overwhelm her once again. It was the first time Taehyung hadn't listened to her or raised his voice. She felt the sting of his anger and was hurt by the lack of understanding.

Tears began to flow down her cheeks as she thought about their earlier argument. The weight of the situation and Taehyung's reaction had left her feeling deeply distressed. As the minutes passed and Taehyung didn't come, exhaustion set in. Eventually, she fell asleep at the table, her tears still fresh on her face, waiting for him to come home and mend the rift between them.

Taehyung quietly unlocked the front gate and entered the house. As he walked in, he saw Y/N sleeping at the dining table, having waited for him. The untouched food on the table and the streaks of dried tears on her face struck him deeply, filling him with intense guilt and sadness.

He approached Y/N gently, his heart aching as he brushed his fingers lightly against her tear-streaked cheek. "Princess..." he whispered softly, trying to wake her.

Y/N stirred at his touch, a faint smile appearing on her face as she opened her eyes. "Tae, you're back," she said, her voice a mix of relief and exhaustion. She glanced at the cold food and added, "The food's cold. Let me heat it."

Taehyung's heart broke at the sight of her trying to keep things normal despite the earlier hurt. He pulled her into a tight embrace, his voice trembling with emotion. "I'm sorry, Princess. I'm really sorry. I let my anger get the best of me this time, I promise, from now on, I'll always listen to your explanations calmly. I'll try my best never to hurt or leave you like this again."

As Taehyung spoke, tears began to flow from his eyes. Seeing his genuine remorse and vulnerability, Y/N's own tears started to roll down her cheeks, mixing with the ones that had dried earlier. They held each other close, their tears mingling as they shared the weight of their emotions.

Y/N gently broke the hug and cupped Taehyung's face in her hands. "It's okay, Tae. We'll talk this through calmly and sort everything out. Please don't cry."

Taehyung, with teary eyes, simply nodded in response.

"Good. Now sit here, and I'll heat the food," Y/N said, guiding Taehyung to a chair and heading towards the kitchen.

As Taehyung watched her, he thought to himself, "She's still speaking to me so lovingly. I'm really lucky to have her. I swear, from now on, I'll never raise my voice at her again."

A few minutes later, Y/N returned with the warmed food and served it to Taehyung. As she was about to serve herself, Taehyung gently stopped her. "Tonight, let me feed you."

Y/N smiled warmly and settled into Taehyung's lap, making herself comfortable. Taehyung began feeding her, and she reciprocated by feeding him. Taehyung lifted a small bite to Y/N's mouth, and as she opened it to eat, he playfully took the bite himself.

Y/N, making a playful pout, tapped Taehyung's shoulder. "Ouch...!" He said with a mock frown. Taehyung, grinning mischievously, started tickling her. Y/N burst into laughter, saying between giggles, "Stop, stop..."

They continued to laugh and play as they finished their dinner, the lighthearted moment helping to heal the emotional wounds from earlier. Once they were done, Taehyung gathered the dishes and took them to the kitchen. He returned to the dining room and sat next to Y/N on the chair.

Taehyung gently held Y/N's hand and asked, "Do you really want to resign from your job?"

Y/N, with a tender smile, nodded affirmatively. "Tae, don't feel guilty about my decision to resign. It's not just because of you," she said, her voice soothing and reassuring.

Taehyung's curiosity was piqued. "Do you remember what my dream was?" Y/N asked, encouraging him to recall her past aspirations.

Taehyung looked at her attentively as Y/N continued, "I always wanted to crack the UPSC exam because it's one of the toughest exams out there. I aimed to secure a job that would allow me to travel the world." Her voice carried a sense of achievement as she spoke, and Taehyung listened with rapt attention.

"And guess what?" Y/N added a proud note in her voice, "I've already fulfilled that dream. I passed the UPSC exam. And as for travelling, we can still explore different countries together on holidays, right?" Taehyung's expression softened into a warm smile, and he nodded, acknowledging her point.

She continued "and about supporting my own country... I'll invest there too."

Y/N's excitement grew as she moved on to her next dream. "Now, I want to pursue my second dream," she said enthusiastically. Taehyung's interest was clearly piqued.

"I want to start a business. Saanvi and I have been planning it for a while. We want to help local artisans who create beautiful fabrics but don't have the means to reach a wider audience. We'll provide them with a platform, give them credit for their work, and sell their products in our store," Y/N explained, her eyes shining with passion and excitement. Taehyung could see how deeply this new venture meant to her.

She continued, "I'm going to submit my resignation letter in the next couple of days. We've already had discussions with some local artisans, and we have two investors lined up. I wanted to surprise you with all this," Y/N said, her tone upbeat and hopeful.

Taehyung, deeply moved by her enthusiasm and determination, squeezed her hand. "Okay, I understand. And don't worry, I'll always support you," he assured her, his voice filled with sincerity.

"Of course, you have to support me. How else will I manage everything alone? Besides, you'll need to be an investment partner as well," Y/N said with a playful giggle.

"Alright, I'll be an investor in your business. And it's you and Saanvi working together, right?" Taehyung asked, seeking clarification.

"Yes, Saanvi will handle the finance department since she's excellent with numbers and calculations. I'll take on the role of CEO," Y/N explained, her excitement evident.

"And Jungkook will also join as an investment partner. This way, we'll all stay connected and involved, and our kids will benefit from a stable and supportive environment," Y/N added with a cheerful smile.

Taehyung looked at Y/N with admiration and pride, realizing how her new dream was not just a career shift but a meaningful project that could impact many lives.

"Okay, my princess," Taehyung said softly, his hand gently ruffling Y/N's hair. "It was my mistake that I didn't understand you before. But now, I promise I'll support you always. Do what you want and what makes you happy."

2 Years Later-

Taehyung and Y/N were at a party with their daughter, Lia, waiting for Saanvi, Jungkook, and their son, Jihoon, to arrive. The celebration was for both couples' 5th wedding anniversary.

Saanvi was running late, so Y/N called her again. "Where are you, berry? Everyone's waiting."

"Just five more minutes, cherry. We're almost there," Saanvi reassured her.

Just then, the rest of the BTS members arrived. Lia spotted Jimin and immediately lit up, climbing into his arms. "How's my angel?" Jimin asked, hugging her tightly.

"Where are Saanvi and Jungkook?" RM asked, looking around.

"They're almost here," Y/N replied.

As everyone chatted, Jungkook and Saanvi finally arrived, carrying Jihoon.

"Saanvi, you're late again! Were you still working or just pretending to work and sleeping?" Y/N teased.

"Why don't you come and sit in the finance department for a day? Then you can see how much fun it is and how peacefully I sleep," Saanvi retorted, making a playful face.

"No, no, you handle it. I'll stay out of it," Y/N laughed.

The others also laughed at their banter.

"Alright, it's time for the cake cutting. The guests have been waiting," Taehyung said to Jungkook.

"Yes, let's go. But first, I have an announcement to make," Y/N said, stepping onto the stage and taking the mic. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are gathered here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. But, I mentioned that there would be a surprise during this celebration," Y/N paused for a moment, building suspense. "As you all know, it has been two years since we started our business, and it has gained quite a popularity."

She paused again, looking around at the curious faces in the room, including many prominent businessmen. "So, we have decided that within the next six months, we will be opening a new store," Y/N announced excitedly. The hall erupted with applause and cheers, the excitement palpable.

Taehyung joined Y/N on stage, smiling proudly. "Thank you, everyone, for your support. This journey wouldn't have been possible without each one of you."

Saanvi and Jungkook also stepped up, holding hands and beaming with joy. "Let's celebrate not just our anniversaries, but the growth and success we've achieved together," Saanvi said.

The crowd continued to cheer as both couples, Saanvi and Jungkook, and Taehyung and Y/N, cut the cake together. The room was filled with vibrant energy, the air buzzing with excitement and happiness.

Lia, perched comfortably in Jimin's arms, clapped excitedly. Her eyes sparkled with delight, her laughter infectious. Jimin, always the doting uncle, twirled her around, making her giggle even more.

On the other side, Jihoon was nestled in Jin's arms. The little boy was bouncing with joy, his chubby hands reaching out as if trying to grab the festive atmosphere itself. Jin, the ever-patient elder, laughed heartily, gently bouncing Jihoon and making funny faces to keep him entertained.

As the cake was sliced, Taehyung lovingly fed a piece to Y/N, who did the same for him. Their eyes met, and at that moment, it was clear how deeply they cared for each other. The simple act of sharing cake was a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

Saanvi and Jungkook followed suit, feeding each other bites of cake amidst the cheers. Jungkook wiped a bit of frosting from Saanvi's cheek, his touch tender and filled with affection. Saanvi, in turn, laughed and gave him a playful nudge.

"Now let's take a photo together," Jungkook announced to everyone, his voice filled with enthusiasm.

"Nice idea," Suga chimed in, nodding approvingly.

Everyone gathered around the two couples. Lia and Jihoon stood at the front, their faces lighting up with excitement. The rest of the BTS members positioned themselves around Taehyung, Y/N, Jungkook, and Saanvi, forming a close-knit group.

"Alright, everyone, says 'cheese'!" The photographer called out, holding up his camera to take the picture.

"Cheese!" they all shouted in unison, wide smiles spreading across their faces. Lia and Jihoon giggled, adding an extra layer of joy to the moment.

The flash went off, capturing the happy scene. As they broke apart, laughter and chatter filled the room once more.

Taehyung pulled Y/N close, planting a kiss on her forehead. "I'm so glad we have such an amazing family and friends," he whispered.

"Me too," Y/N replied, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "This is just the beginning. There are so many more memories to make together."

Jungkook wrapped an arm around Saanvi, who was gently swaying with Jihoon in her arms. "Here's to many more anniversaries and adventures," he said, winking at her.

The night was magical, filled with love, laughter, and a sense of unity. It was a celebration not just of anniversaries, but of dreams realized, challenges overcome, and the beautiful journey of life shared with those who mattered most.

"No matter how much we plan for ourselves, life always has its own plans. We must learn to adapt and grow together, finding strength in our love and support for each other."
