Dreams and Realities
Jungkook was sobbing uncontrollably, pleading, "Saanvi, please, please have some mercy on us... please open your eyes..." Then he screamed, "SAANVII!"
Suddenly, he jolted awake, his heart pounding in his chest. He found himself in the guest room, drenched in sweat. Relief washed over him as he realized, "Thank God, it was just a nightmare." The sunlight streaming through the window cast a soft glow on the room, making everything seem eerily calm in contrast to the chaos of his dream.
Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. His breaths were rapid, his heart was still racing, and sweat dotted his forehead. He ran a trembling hand through his dishevelled hair, the vivid scene of his nightmare still playing out before his eyes: Saanvi's lifeless form, the desperation in his voice, the hopelessness in his heart.
He couldn't shake off the feeling of dread. Without wasting a moment, he jumped out of bed and sprinted towards Saanvi's room, his footsteps echoing loudly in the silent house. He flung the door open with a loud thud, his eyes scanning the room frantically.
But Saanvi wasn't there. The neatly made bed and the quiet room only amplified his fear. Panic surged through him like a tidal wave. He could feel his chest tightening, his breaths becoming shallow. "Saanvi?" he called out, his voice breaking.
Jungkook rushed downstairs, his heart sinking with every step. He kept calling out, "Saanvi... Saanvi..." His voice was filled with increasing desperation. Suddenly, he heard the clatter of pots and pans from the kitchen. Without a second thought, he sprinted towards the sound.
Bursting into the kitchen, he saw Saanvi with headphones on, doing a little dance as she cooked. The sight was a stark contrast to the terror he had just experienced.
Relief flooded through him, and he ran towards her. Before Saanvi could even react, Jungkook enveloped her in a tight embrace, holding on as if letting go would make her disappear. "Thank God, thank God you're safe," he whispered, his breath heavy and uneven.
Saanvi caught off guard, removed her headphones and looked at him with a mix of confusion and concern. "Jungkook, what's wrong?" she asked softly, but he couldn't bring himself to let go just yet. He just needed a moment to savour the reality that she was okay.
Saanvi hugged Jungkook back, gently patting his back in a comforting manner. As soon as Jungkook felt Saanvi's hand around him, his mind began to calm.
"I had a really bad dream. You and Y/N... you both had a car accident and... and you died. I-I was so scared, everyone was crying," Jungkook said, his voice trembling with lingering fear.
"It's okay, Jungkook, everything is fine. See, I'm right here in front of you," Saanvi said, gently pulling back to look into his eyes. Her calm demeanour and reassuring smile began to ease his anxiety.
"Yeah, now I feel relieved knowing it was just a nightmare," Jungkook said, taking a deep breath. The vivid terror of his dream started to fade, replaced by the comforting reality of Saanvi's presence.
Saanvi gave him a warm smile and said, "Alright, let's have breakfast, and then I'll head back. Y/N got her period, so I'll take care of her so Jiju can go home." She moved gracefully around the kitchen, setting the plates and preparing the meal with practised ease.
Jungkook watched her for a moment, appreciating the normalcy and warmth of the scene. "Oh, okay. I'll go freshen up," he replied, feeling more at ease now. He headed towards the bathroom, the cool water splashing on his face helping to clear his mind further. The scent of breakfast wafted through the house, a stark contrast to the fear and panic of moments ago.
As he returned to the kitchen, he found Saanvi humming softly to herself, the morning sunlight streaming in and adding a serene glow to the room. It was moments like these that reminded him how precious the ordinary, everyday moments were. They sat down to eat, and the conversation turned to lighter topics, the earlier tension melting away with each passing minute.
Meanwhile, as the soft glow of the sun entered the room, Y/N's eyes fluttered open. Seeing herself in Taehyung's embrace brought back memories of the previous night's events, and a soft smile lingered on her face. Gently, she moved Taehyung's hand aside and slipped out of bed, heading to the washroom. Her period had started, so she freshened up and took a shower.
Afterwards, she went to the kitchen to get some warm water and decided to call Saanvi, who hadn't returned home yet. She wasn't too worried since Saanvi had gone with Jungkook, but she wanted to call her back home.
"Where are you, Saanvi? When are you coming home?" Y/N asked as soon as Saanvi picked up.
"I'll be back soon, I'm at Jungkook's place," Saanvi informed her.
"Come quickly. I got my period, and Taehyung won't leave for practice until you're here to take care of me," Y/N explained.
"Okay, okay, I'll be there soon. And then you can tell me what happened last night with Taehyung," Saanvi chuckled, teasing her.
"Yeah, yeah, come soon so I can hear your story with Jungkook," Y/N teased back, making Saanvi blush.
After talking to Saanvi, Y/N took her warm water and moved to the living room. Just then, she saw Taehyung standing there. "You got your period?" Taehyung asked with concern.
Y/N nodded.
"Alright. I'll make a light breakfast for you, and then you can take some medicine to prevent the cramps from getting too bad," Taehyung said with a caring smile.
"Okay, Tae," Y/N replied, smiling back. She couldn't help but think about how much he took care of her. Being with him made her feel like a princess, and in fact, she felt the same way with all the BTS members.
In the evening, both girls were sitting together gossiping, their laughter filling the room. Y/N was feeling light cramps, so she was sitting with a hot water bag on her stomach. The warm, soothing heat provided some relief as she listened to Saanvi.
Suddenly, Saanvi's phone rang. She glanced at the screen and her expression turned serious.
"Oh god. Okay, wait, I'm coming," Saanvi said urgently, cutting the call. She turned to Y/N and explained, "I'll be back in a bit, Ye-Joon is calling. He said it's an emergency."
With a quick grab of her things, Saanvi was out the door. "Oh, okay... Can you bring back some lava ca..." Y/N started to say, but Saanvi was already gone, the gate closing with a thud. "She didn't even hear the whole thing," Y/N mumbled, pouting slightly. She sighed, feeling a bit lonely now that Saanvi had rushed off.
Y/N settled back into the couch, the warmth of the hot water bag spreading through her abdomen. She decided to watch some TV to pass the time. As she flicked through the channels, she couldn't help but feel a bit worried about what kind of emergency had called Saanvi away so abruptly. She hoped everything was alright.
As she lay there, her phone buzzed with a message from Taehyung, checking in on her. She smiled, feeling a bit better knowing that she was surrounded by people who cared about her. She texted him back, feeling a bit more at ease as she settled in to watch her show, waiting for Saanvi to return.
Just as Y/N was lost in her thoughts and the TV show, the doorbell rang. Curious, she opened the gate and found Jungkook standing there.
"Hey," Jungkook greeted her with a small smile. He stepped inside and handed Y/N a box. "What's in here?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
Y/N eagerly opened the box and exclaimed, "Wow, lava cake! Thank you, Kook!" She smiled brightly, touched by his gesture.
Jungkook's expression turned concerned as he watched her. "Are you feeling okay?" he asked gently.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'll be even better after I eat this cake," Y/N replied playfully, starting to enjoy the cake and offering a bite to Jungkook.
Taking a bite of the cake, Jungkook suddenly asked, "Where's Saanvi?"
"Oh, she went to meet Ye-Joon," Y/N said with her mouth full, muffling her words. "He called her suddenly and said it was an emergency."
"What?" Jungkook's surprise was evident. "Who's Ye-Joon? This is so irritating. Who calls like that?" He sounded annoyed and frustrated.
Y/N chuckled at his reaction. "I know, right?" she said, rolling her eyes playfully. "But don't worry, she'll be back soon. Meanwhile, let's enjoy this cake."
Jungkook nodded, still miffed but trying to relax. He took another bite of the cake, his mind clearly distracted by thoughts of Saanvi's unexpected departure.
Jungkook silently resolved to have a word with Ye-Joon when they met, intending to ask him to stay away from Saanvi. Meanwhile, he casually asked Y/N, "Do you know where Saanvi went?"
"She mentioned she was heading to a flower shop nearby," Y/N replied absentmindedly, her focus still on savouring the cake.
"Okay, I'll be back later then," Jungkook said, getting up and heading towards the door.
"Stop! Come back, I need to talk to you," Y/N called out, stopping Jungkook in his tracks.
Jungkook turned around, a bit surprised. "Sure, what's up?" he asked, walking back towards her with a concerned expression.
"Look, don't lie and don't make any drama. Just tell me the truth. You like Saanvi?" Y/N asked, emphasizing her question, her eyes fixed on Jungkook.
Jungkook looked uncomfortable at first, caught off guard by the sudden question. He fidgeted slightly, avoiding her gaze. Then he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, steeling himself. "Okay, let me tell you the truth."
Y/N leaned in, her curiosity piqued and her attention fully on him. Jungkook began, "First, let me make it clear, this is not a proposal, just a confession of the truth."
Y/N nodded, urging him to continue.
"I-I actually used to like you," Jungkook admitted, his voice soft and vulnerable. "But before I could even understand my feelings, I found out about you and Taehyung. It was heartbreaking for me, but there was nothing I could do."
Y/N was shocked by this revelation. She had never considered this possibility. She watched Jungkook, her heart aching for the pain he must have felt.
Jungkook continued, his voice steadier now, "Then, when I went to India, I met Saanvi. She had the same nature, the same style, the same vibe that I got from you. I was shocked, wondering what was happening."
He chuckled softly, shaking his head at the memory. "We started talking, calling, chatting, and slowly, we began to understand each other and grow closer."
He sighed deeply, looking down for a moment. "And I started to like her. I was always eager to meet her, and then Ye-Joon came along, and I started feeling irritated and jealous."
He chuckled again, this time with a hint of self-mockery, while Y/N listened attentively to every word, her expression sympathetic and understanding.
"But I was confused if I truly loved her or if it was just an attachment because she reminded me of you. Until today."
Y/N's curiosity peaked, wondering what had happened today. Jungkook explained, "Today, I had that nightmare. I was so scared, and I realized how important she is to me. In that dream, I was confessing to her. I can't lose her. I can't live without her."
Taking another deep breath, he finally said, "Yes, I love her."
Y/N's eyes sparkled with happiness. "Oh my god, oh my god, Kook! Finally, you realise you love her. I knew it all along!" she exclaimed, her excitement bubbling over.
"What? How? Why didn't you tell me?" Jungkook asked, shocked.
"Would you have believed me if I had told you? Besides, everyone could see your love," Y/N replied, pouting slightly.
Jungkook considered this for a moment and then laughed, "Good point."
"Now, you need to tell Saanvi how you feel. Don't wait any longer," Y/N advised him, her tone firm yet encouraging.
"Yeah, but I want to know how she feels about me first," Jungkook said, looking a bit sad and uncertain.
"Oh, come on... Saanvi likes you too," Y/N said, rolling her eyes playfully.
"Did she tell you that?" Jungkook asked, suddenly hopeful.
"No, duffer, I can just see it. Everyone can see your love except you two," Y/N smirked, giving him a teasing look.
"Thank you, Y/N. Thank you. You're the best," Jungkook said, pulling her into a warm hug.
"Now, I'm going to propose to her soon, but you have to help me with the plan, okay?" Jungkook asked eagerly, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Of course, I'll help you, my Bunny," Y/N replied, pinching his cheek affectionately.
Jungkook flashed his signature Bunny smile, the one that made everyone's heart melt. "Alright, I'm going now, and I'll call you once I have a plan," he said, standing up and heading toward the door.
"Okay, bye," Y/N smiled, waving as Jungkook left. She watched him go, feeling a mix of joy and anticipation for what was to come. The air seemed lighter, filled with the promise of new beginnings and the excitement of a blossoming love.
As Jungkook was heading back home, his thoughts still swirling with the conversation he had just had with Y/N, he suddenly spotted Saanvi across the road. His heart skipped a beat.
She was standing there, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers. In front of her, a guy was kneeling down, looking up at her.
Jungkook's breath hitched as he took in the scene. Was this a proposal? A million thoughts raced through his mind as he watched from a distance, his heart pounding in his chest. His earlier resolve to confront Ye-Joon and confess his feelings to Saanvi seemed to be slipping through his fingers.
"Not again, not again," Jungkook murmured to himself, feeling a sense of dread wash over him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
He stood frozen on the spot, his eyes glued to Saanvi and the guy kneeling in front of her. His mind raced back to his nightmare, and he felt a surge of panic. Was he too late?
The bouquet of flowers in Saanvi's hands and the earnest look on the guy's face seemed to confirm Jungkook's worst fears. His thoughts became a whirlwind of emotions-fear, jealousy, and a deep longing.
For a moment, he considered walking away, but then he remembered Y/N's words: "Don't wait any longer." Gathering his courage, he took a deep breath and started walking towards Saanvi, determined to face whatever was happening head-on.
"Sometimes, it takes a nightmare to awaken us to the truth of our deepest desires."
