"Oh, did I forget to mention that we discovered BigFoot? Sorry about that, but we did and technically, BigFoot was actually a female."
EVER SINCE THE incident with the Creep, things had quickly gone back to normal-- well, as normal as things could be for them. Leonardo was still recovering and was slowly gaining more strength with each day as he was able to walk around more on his own two feet without collapsing-- although, he still needed his crutch to avoid putting too much weight on his bad leg. At the moment, it's been a quiet morning so far and everyone was off doing their own things when Donatello, who had been in the barn with Michelangelo, had handed April a small box for her to open with a smile on his face.
April did end up opening it to find that it was a music box with a photo of him on the lid. She gave him an uneasy smile. "Wow, that is just super neat. Thanks so much, Donnie!" He smiled, and she set the box on the table. "Well, got to go! Got some, uh, training to do. Thanks again, Donnie!" She left the living room hurriedly.
Michelangelo peeked up from behind the couch. "I can't even imagine how you're feeling right now."
"Devastated," Donatello answered.
Michelangelo snapped his fingers. "Aw, man! I was totally gonna say 'devastated'!" He leaned over and shook his brother's shoulders. "I should've just went for it. I got to learn to trust my instincts!" Donatello pushed him back. "I mean... that's rough, bro."
"Smooth move, genius," Raphael said from the doorway with Henry. "It's never gonna happen, Donnie. We're mutants. She's a girl. You're a giant talking turtle." He entered the room. "The sooner you get used to it, the better."
Those words definitely didn't help with Donatello's confidence.
As Henry entered the room, he gave a light smack to the back of Raphael's head. "Go easy on him, Raph. You never know what'll happen one day." Henry said before he turns to the purple masked mutant turtle. "As for you, just give it some time, Donnie. Maybe it will be April or maybe you'll meet someone else-- you never know."
"Never know what?"
They turned to see Briana entering the room with Eclipse. "Henry's cheering Donnie up after his failed attempt at telling April how he feels," Michelangelo said as a few soft, snickers left his lips. "You should've seen his face."
"You know, it'd help if you two," Raphael added, pointing between Henry and Eclipse. "Would hurry up and just get together already."
For a split second, both Henry and Eclipse got nervous as the two wondered if one of the other had said anything to him. But when Henry and Eclipse noticed the slight glances they sent the other from the corner of their eyes, they realized that he didn't know-- that it was just Raphael being himself.
"We're not dating."
Oh, how easy the lie slipped out from their mouths.
"Yet." Briana corrected, as none of them seemed to notice the slight glances that Henry and Eclipse had sent the other.
"Henry's right though, Donnie," Eclipse said, taking the subject off of her and Henry before the others could put the pieces together. "Just give it time and let things happen on its own. It'll be worth it."
"Thanks, guys." Donatello said.
"You know what you need? Huh? Huh, buddy? You know what you need?" Raphael asked, looking at his younger brother.
"You to leave?" Donatello answered.
"A little forest ninja training! Ha! Huh? Huh? Sounds like fun, right? Right?" Raphael put an arm over his shoulders while Donatello groaned.
But as the three mutant turtles and Briana left the house, both Henry and Eclipse let their fingers intertwined, holding onto the other's hand as the two smiled at each other while time slowed down for the two, giving them their very moment between just the two of them while the smiles on their faces said all that they needed to say.
I love you.
๐๐๐
FROM THE TOP of a small hill, Leonardo watched as his brothers and sisters were sparring, having a free-for-all. However, Donatello and Michelangelo were the ones that had ran into trees, having been the ones to grow rusty after coming to the farmhouse.
"You're not in the city anymore. You need to get used to this new environment. No buildings. No subways." Raphael stood proud before moving to punch Michelangelo, who flinched and went to run, only to run back into a tree and fall to the ground. "Lots of trees."
Michelangelo groaned as he rubbed his head. "Ugh, tell me about it."
"You know, I kinda wished I had your wolf senses." Donatello told Henry, rubbing his head as well after running into a tree as well.
"No, you don't, trust me," Henry said. "It's a pain learning how to control it."
"That reminds me," Raphael said as he turned his head to look at him. "You up for some one-on-one sparring?"
Henry raised a eyebrow, a small smirk on his face. "Is that a challenge I'm hearing?"
"Maybe," Raphael answered as he smirked teasingly at him. "Unless you're scared you'd lose."
"Oh, so that's how we're playing, huh? Alright," Henry said. "Bring it, let's see what you got, Raphie."
Raphael grinned. "You're on, Hen."
"Should we make a bet on them or...?" Briana asked the others, watching as the two got into readied positions.
"Technically, Henry does have the advantage with his wolf senses," Donatello said.
"I think we should just sit back and enjoy the show." Eclipse said with a smirk, though she already knew who she was secretly rooting for.
Both Raphael and Henry faced each other before charging and as predicted, the red masked mutant turtle threw a punch that Henry saw coming and jumped to the side to avoid it before going for a counter, but Raphael jumped back with a kick at his head. Henry only smirked as he ducked and sweep his other leg from underneath him, causing the mutant turtle to fall backwards.
Then, Raphael charged again and this time, went with punching combos but Henry blocked his attacks. He waited for his next strike and as his ears twitched at the movement, Henry leapt to the side as Raphael's fist came into contact with the tree instead. Henry then jabbed his side and clocked him, as Raphael fell face-first into the tree before sliding down.
But Raphael quickly got back to his feet and swings another punch at him, but Henry blocks. This time, Raphael smirked as he knocked Henry down and pins him to the floor, a hand holding his wrist and the other at his neck.
"Looks like I win." Raphael commented cockily, a grin on his face.
Henry smirked. "You sure about that?"
Henry grabbed the mutant turtle's hand and yanked, slamming the back of his heel into his shell as Raphael hits the floor while Henry playfully pins the mutant's arms behind his shell.
"And the winner of this challenge is..." Michelangelo paused for the dramatic effect before he grinned widely. "Henry!"
"You a little rusty, Raph?" Henry teased with a smirk, releasing his arms to let the mutant turtle roll over to look up at him.
"Yeah, right. You won this one, but I'll win the next one." Raphael said, accepting Henry's hand as he let him pull him up.
"We'll see about that." Henry said before turning to Leonardo, who had been watching them the whole time. "Well, what do you think?"
Leonardo paused, glancing down thoughtfully. "Hmm." He grinned and looked back up. "Ninja hunt."
"Ninja hunt." Henry said in agreement. For a split second, he could feel the wolf inside of him howl softly in excitement.
"Ninja hunt!?" Donatello and Michelangelo echoed.
"You gonna help out, Leo?" Raphael asked, smirking.
"Yeah, Iโngh!" Leonardo started to move forward, then yelped and leaned back against his crutch. "Sorry... guess I'm still not up to it." He turned to leave. "Enjoy your little hunt."
"You'll get there, Leo." Briana encouraged. He sent her a small, grateful smile before walking away.
"Dude! What do you mean by 'ninja hunt?'" Michelangelo asked.
"You guys are gonna head into the forest," Raphael told them. "We'll give you a five-minute head start and then, we're gonna hunt you two down. If you can't stay hidden for at least an hour, you'll have to... clean out the chicken coop."
Their eyes widened.
"No way!" Donatello exclaimed.
"Not the chicken coop! It's got spiders so big, they play banjo!" Michelangelo stated, earning stares from them.
"We can't clean that thing!" Donatello finished. "And Henry will sniff us out in a couple of minutes!"
"Then, you might wanna start practicing to cover your scents," Henry told them. "Which doesn't sound like a bad idea, now that I'm thinking about it."
"Aw, come on! There's gotta be something else we can do instead!" Michelangelo pleaded. "Bri, Clips, help us out!"
"Oh, no, don't look at me," Eclipse said as she held her hands up in surrender. "There is nothing worse than cleaning that coop."
Briana gave her brothers a sheepish smile. "Sorry, guys, but you might wanna start moving."
"Traitors!" Michelangelo yelled as he and Donatello bolted into the forest.
"We definitely got this win in the bag," Raphael said. "Especially with your wolf senses."
"I'm still giving them a bit of a chance, Raph," Henry told him. "They are at a disadvantage."
"Fine," Raphael said, though he doesn't look upset. "As long as I don't end up cleaning the coop."
"Speaking of the chicken coop, let's get going cause ain't no way I'm cleaning that either." Eclipse said.
And with that, the four of them headed off into the forest after Donatello and Michelangelo.
๐๐๐
THE FOUR OF them were walking through the forests, jumping over logs as they searched for the two mutant turtles. Henry's ears pricked at the sound of screams that made them stop in their tracks while two familiar scents reached his nose, causing his nose to twitch as well. They turn to see Donatello and Michelangelo dashing towards them in full speed.
"RUN!" Donatello shouted.
Eclipse blinked. "Okay, this is just sad. You two can do way better than this."
"Yeah, come on, it's like you're not even trying to hide!" Raphael added.
"BIGFOOT!" Both Donatello and Michelangelo yelled, running past them.
"Bigfoot?" Henry and Briana questioned, looking back the way that the two had been running in for their jaws to drop open.
Raphael and Eclipse, on the other hand, turned to face their brothers. "If this is your way of trying to get out of cleaning that coop thenโ" Eclipse started to said with a scoff.
"Uh, guys?" Briana asked, grabbing her sister and turning her around while Henry did the same with Raphael.
Just like Henry and Briana, both Eclipse and Raphael felt their jaws dropped open at the sight of the giant ape-like creature, covered in fur and snarling, in front of them.
Raphael smiled and drew his sais. "Looks like we're gonna get some real training."
Henry, Eclipse, and Briana drew their weapons while behind them, Donatello and Michelangelo shared a nervous glance before taking out their own weapons as well. Bigfoot roared as they charged.
"Booyakasha!" Michelangelo yelled.
However, even with the six of them, Bigfoot was able to hold his own against them as he mimicked their weapons. Using two tree branches as make-shift sais, he managed to disarmed Raphael.
"Bigfoot's got some skills." Raphael commented in surprise.
Henry threw one of his shurikens at Bigfoot, who caught it and threw back at him. He gave a startled yelp and ducked, as the shuriken hit the tree behind him instead. Briana and Eclipse jumped onto his shoulders, but Bigfoot walked into a branch and knocked them off. Donatello jumped at him, grabbing Bigfoot's arm. The creature winched, trying to shake him off with a look of fear and pain.
Donatello then noticed the shallow cuts on his arm. "Hey, are youโ" he doesn't get to finish his sentence as Bigfoot threw him into Henry, and they crashed to the ground while the others continued to fight. Bigfoot grabbed Michelangelo's face, and Eclipse lifted her kamas to swing.
"Stop!" Donatello shouted as they all froze, looking at him. "Guys, he's hurt! I don't think he wants to fight us. I think he's just scared." He got back to his feet as he and Henry walked over.
Bigfoot looked at him and breathed in a deep, growly voice. "Scared."
Raphael raised a brow. "He can talk?"
"Look at that sagittal crest," Donatello said. "He could be a Paranthropus Robustus, a hominid long thought extinct."
"Can't breathe!" Michelangelo shouted, his voice muffled as he pointed to his head that Bigfoot was still holding.
Donatello approached the ape-like creature, causing Bigfoot to tense. "It's okay, easy now. I can fix your arm, if you let us." Bigfoot glanced down at his injured arm. "It's alright. I want to help." Bigfoot extended his arm and he gently took it to examine the woundโ a patch of fur was missing that was exposing skin and had two cuts. "It's not bad." He looked up at him. "But I'd like to take you home, where we can clean it up and bandage it. Is that okay?"
Bigfoot looked at them uncertainly.
"Hello? Anybody?" Michelangelo asked.
Bigfoot released him, and he dropped to the ground.
"Whoa, hold on! We can't bring a giant ape-man home with us!" Raphael said.
Briana had moved over to where Donatello stood, taking a quick glance at the wound. "Aw, but he's hurt! Besides, I'm sure he's nothing but a sweetheart."
Eclipse raised an eyebrow at those arms as she crossed her arms over her chest. "You do realize that he also just attacked us, right?"
"Maybe, but he didn't mean too," Briana defended. "He's hurt and he was scared."
"See? Of course we can," Donatello said. "Mikey? Bri?"
Michelangelo looked up at Bigfoot. "Injured woodland creature? Bring him home."
Briana grinned. "Let's do it!"
"No, no, there is no way that we are bringing Bigfoot home with us." Henry said.
But Donatello and Michelangelo only smirked. "You sure?"
As if it was on cue, Briana gave them her puppy-dog eyes as she stared at them.
"Oh, that is such a cheap shot!" Henry argued while Raphael and Eclipse groaned in annoyance, turning their heads away from her immediately.
"Cheap but it's effective." Donatello said with a smirk.
"Yeah, bro, look at her face!" Michelangelo said with a grin as he pointed at Briana. "You can't say no to that face!"
Henry bit the bottom half of his lip to try to stay quietโto not give in. But then, Briana added in a pouty face while keeping her puppy-dog eyes facade in, which didn't help him at all.
Henry then groaned in annoyance before he sighed. "Okay, fine, let's bring him with us."
"Yes!" Briana cheered with a grin as she shared a high-five with Donatello and Michelangelo.
Donatello then turned to Bigfoot. "Hi, I'm Donnie." He greeted before gesturing to the rest of them. "This is Raph, Henry, Clips, Briana, and Mikey."
"I..." Bigfoot trailed off.
"I? Okay, your name is I?" Donatello asked, which only made Raphael and Eclipse facepalmed at him.
"I... no name." Bigfoot answered.
Michelangelo smiled. "Of course you have a name." He gestured to his feet. "You're Bigfoot!"
Bigfoot looked at his feet and smiled. "Bigfoot." He laughed. "Bigfoot!"
"Will you come with us?" Donatello asked.
Then, Henry felt his ears pricked and he could've swore that he heard footsteps behind them. He turned around but blinked when he didn't see anything there, but when he turned back, he noticed that Bigfoot looked scared again as the creature whimpered.
"Aw, it's okay, Bigfoot. You'll be safe with us." Briana reassured as they headed for the farmhouse.
"Why would he be scared of us?" Raphael asked.
Henry glanced back behind them for a second before he followed them back to the farmhouse.
๐๐๐
THE PURPLE MASKED mutant turtle entered first. "Hello? Anybody home? We got company!" He called as everyone else entered.
From the top of the stairs, Leonardo frowned. "What? You can't let anyone in!" Bigfoot tried to enter but got stuck as Michelangelo and Briana tried to help her while Henry, Raphael, and Eclipse watched with their arms crossed. "Why is the doorway full of hair?" He asked again.
"And a giant butt?" Casey asked, arriving with Kaz, April, Mara, Zane, Kyle, Piper, and Chloe.
"Come on, it's okay." Donatello encouraged as Michelangelo and Briana got Bigfoot unstuck, and he blew backwards onto the floor.
"It's Bigfoot!" Casey shouted.
"No, it's Godzilla, Jones," Mara said sarcastically before she smacked his arm. "Obviously, it's Bigfoot!"
"You brought BigFoot home?" Leonardo asked.
"Why everyone know Bigfoot name?" He turned to Donatello.
"It talks?" Kyle questioned.
"Bigfoot, this is Leo, Casey, April, Kaz, Mara, Zane, Kyle, Piper, and Chloe." Donatello introduced.
April noticed Bigfoot's wound. "He's hurt! I'll get the first aid kit."
"You can't just bring home BigFoot!" Leonardo exclaimed. He noticed Michelangelo mimicking him and shot him a warning glare. Michelangelo chuckled awkwardly while Leonardo turned to Henry, Raphael, and Eclipse. "You let them talk you guys into this?"
"I wouldn't say they talked us into this," Eclipse said. "More like, they used Briana's puppy-dog eyes against us."
"He needed our help," Briana said. "Besides, it's just until his arm is better."
With the first aid kit in her hands, April led Bigfoot into the kitchen. "Come on, let's get that wound cleaned up."
"Sure, but when I wanted to have a dog, you guys were like, 'no way.'" Casey complained, walking down the stairs with the others.
"That 'dog' was a wolf, Casey." Kaz reminded.
"And it almost attacked you," Zane added. "You're lucky that Henry was able to stop it."
"Besides, you're not responsible enough for a dog." Chloe told her brother, who lightly flicked her forehead with an annoyed look on his face.
"You guys don't get it," Donatello argued. "Bigfoot is the missing genetic link between humans and the ape. This discovery will change the face of science itself!"
"So, it's bigger than talking turtles?" Mara responded with a smug smirk on her face while Donatello glared at her.
Then, they all made their way to the living room where April was just finishing up bandaging Bigfoot's wound.
April smiled at the creature. "There you go. Try not to use it for the next few days."
"Bigfoot thank Donnie." He said, placing a hand over the bandage.
Donatello smiled. "No problem."
April stands up and crosses to the first aid kit as she starts packing everything away.
"Bad man after Bigfoot," the creature admits, looking at his lap. "Name... 'The Finger.'"
"The Finger?" Donatello questioned.
"Who would name themselves 'The Finger?'" Piper mumbled.
"Very bad mans," Bigfoot continues. His face gets what looks like a dreamy twinge to it and he clasps his hands together. "But Donnie good mans."
"Aw, thanks Bigfoot."
"Donnie very good mans," Bigfoot added, leaning closer to him and fluttering his non-existent eyelashes. Donatello's smile disappears fast. "So good."
With that, the creature plants sloppy kiss on Donatello's cheek while the mutant turtle freezes in shock. April gapes at the pair, the cleaned up first aid kit is being held in her hands.
"Whoa." She says as the giant ape pulls away, leaving a large string of saliva on his cheek.
Bigfoot scoops the mutant turtle into his arms and cuddles him close. "Love Donnie!"
"But, but, butโ"
"Bigfoot am lady!" Bigfoot begins rubbing her cheek against Donatello's entire face while the mutant turtle was clearly uncomfortable.
"That... is... great?" He squeaks.
"That is great!" Casey says.
Behind the couch, watching the whole thing, are the other mutant turtles, Henry, Kaz, Briana, Mara, Zane, Kyle, Piper, and Chloe. Immediately, they all burst out laughing while Briana quickly covers her mouth to try to stop the fits of laughter from coming out but a few snickers makes it out of her.
๐๐๐
THE NEXT FEW days are not the most pleasant for Donatello especially as everywhere he goes, Bigfoot is right there with him. The purple masked mutant turtle continues to try to be polite while Bigfoot is constantly watching him work or feeding him while he watches TV. As for everyone else, they all generally try to find excuses to avoid Bigfoot or at least keep their distance but for the most part, Bigfoot's presence tends to make their regular schedules a bit more difficult.
Michelangelo was cooking dinner in the kitchen when Bigfoot came walking in with a bag over her shoulder.
"Bigfoot bring meat!" She announces, dropping the bag on the counter.
Michelangelo stops stirring the soup he'd been cooking, confused. "Where did youโ?"
"Good meat," Bigfoot continues. She digs into the bag and pulls out a roadkill squirrel, swinging it around by the tail as she giggles with pride. "Tender, tender."
Michelangelo screams and retches, ruining the night's meal.
But that wasn't the only thing that's happened with Bigfoot's presence in the house.
Raphael walks up the stairs as Bigfoot emerges from the bathroom with her shoulders slumped in satisfaction.
"Bigfoot make waste." She said.
"Uh, make waste?" Raphael asks. He carefully inches to the bathroom and pushes the door open by an inch and peeks in.
He spots the spotless toilet and looks confused. His emerald green eyes moves to the tub, which swims with flies and a strong, pungent smell. He steps backwards with a cry and covers his nose with his arm.
"AAH!" He yelps as he slams the door shut, his temper rising. "BIGFOOT!"
But that wasn't the only thing that happened.
"HENRYYY!"
Henry winches in pain as he rubbed his ears from Piper's scream while he walks down the hall but halts and looks confused when Bigfoot suddenly runs past by him. He continues and walks into the room where he found his sister looking in the mirror with a furious look on her face.
"What is it? Why did you scream?" Henry asked.
Piper spun around to face him, her face red with anger. "Bigfoot ruined my hair!" She yells, grabbing her hair to show him the uneven ends on both sides of her hair.
"How did she even get a hold of your hair?"
"I don't know! She said something about doing hair and then, this happened! I can't have my hair like this!" Piper argued.
"Okay, Pipes, relax," Henry told her. "We can ask for help and see if we can figure out how to fix your hair."
๐๐๐
"DONNIE AND MIKEY need to learn to blend out here, forest stealth."
Raphael, Bigfoot, Donatello, and Michelangelo were standing in the middle of the forest again. The red masked mutant turtle didn't look pleased while he was holding a gas mask and a mop.
"If you're gonna stay with us, at least you can help out," he continues. "I'd ask Henry to help you but, he's helping Piper. Show them some stuff, okay? I have to go... clean out the tub." He put the cleaning mask on and walked away with the mop.
Bigfoot turned his attention to the orange masked mutant turtle, who tensed and gulped. "Please don't grab my head again."
Bigfoot picked him up by his shoulders and carried him to some ferns, placing him down in them. "Blend in."
"I can still see them." Donatello pointed out.
Bigfoot makes a rumbling sound as she tilted her head, looking at Michelangelo. She looks away when she hears something behind them and looks to see The Finger roll out of the trees, two crossbows at ready. She roars in surprise, grabbing the two mutant turtles and dashing away with them tucked under her hairy arms while ignoring their protests, leaving The Finger behind.
๐๐๐
"COME ON, LEO, give me your best!" Raphael challenges as his fighter advances on the TV screen.
"You'll gain no ground." Leonardo retorts, moving his own player closer and clicking on the buttons rapidly.
Henry was standing behind the couch while Eclipse was sitting on the other side of Raphael, the two watching the two mutant turtles play the video game. Piper was sitting next to the window with a frown on her face, still upset about her hair that, despite the fact that her ends were even now, was now a bit shorter than what it was before.
Henry snuck a glance at each other and gave her a small smile. "It'll grow back, Piper."
"Still not happy about it."
Michelangelo bursts into the living room, arms held above his head as if he was celebrating something. "Oh, man, Bigfoot is amazeballs with the forest stealth stuff!"
Bigfoot rushes in after him with his shoulders hunched. "Bigfoot... scared!" She exclaims, shaking like a leaf.
But no one paid her any attention as Leonardo groaned. "Aw!" His fighter on the screen went down with a droning beep while Raphael laughs in triumph, shaking his butt in his face.
"Finger bad!" Bigfoot cries as she scrambles to the window and shuts the curtain.
"Hey!" Piper shouts before she stands up, walking away from the creature with a protective hand on her hair.
"Right, fingers are bad." Raphael says, ignoring everything else that was going on. He grabs Leonardo's fingers teasingly, making him yank them away and pouts.
Eclipse reaches over and takes the free controller from Raphael. "Alright, Raph, it's me versus you now."
Raphael smirked. "You're on."
As the two began the next round with Henry and Leonardo watching, Bigfoot makes another whimpering noise and peeks out the window from between the curtains while nobody paid any attention to her distress.
๐๐๐
LATER THAT NIGHT, April walked into the kitchen to find that Bigfoot was already there, moving from the stove to the cabinets.
"Evening, Bigfoot. What are you making?" April asks, wandering over to the stove as her eyes landed on the soup pot.
"Food!" Bigfoot announces, her tone was fill with excitement. "Donnie!"
April reaches over and lifts the lid of the pot, only for the stretch of burning fur and rotting meat to hit her. She let out a yelp of surprise but slamming the lid back on the pot.
"Um, you realize that the meat has fur?" April asks, forcing a smile.
Bigfoot grins and nods. She turns and opens the freezer door, finding Ice Cream Kitty inside. The mutant cat looks up to make eye contact with the creature and then screeches, causing Bigfoot to scream.
And screech.
And scream.
And screech.
And scream.
Henry and Eclipse were sitting on the front steps of the house, chatting amongst themselves with smiles on their faces when the fridge, with Ice Cream Kitty inside the freezer, is thrown out the window, shattering the glass as their conversation comes to an end while the two look over at the fridge then back at the window. April gives them a nervous smile and waves in apology before directing her attention to Bigfoot while Henry and Eclipse walk over to the fridge.
Eclipse opens the freezer door and the two find Ice Cream Kitty inside, wobbling a little while looking a bit dazed.
"You okay, Ice Cream Kitty?" Eclipse asks.
The mutant cat gives a weak meow in response and the golden masked mutant turtle gently shuts the freezer door. Together, both Henry and Eclipse are able to bring the fridge back inside and set it back into its place.
๐๐๐
INSIDE THE BARN, Mara was helping Casey work on an old truck while Leonardo watches. The truck itself is set on four large cinder blocks to make it easier for them to get underneath the truck.
"So, she's wearing makeup now, and she keeps making soup for Donnie." Leonardo says, there is clear amusement in his tone.
Mara snickers, trying to hold back her laughter while leaning against the side of the truck, passing Casey the tools whenever he needs them. "Oh, man, I wish I could get a photo of gappy's reaction."
Casey pulls back from the truck's hood, wiping a grease strain from his forehead. "Do you think she's his type?" He asks, hiding his laughter.
Leonardo purses his lips, smiling behind it. "Maybe after a shave!"
"Oh, imagine Bigfoot and Donnie together as a couple." Mara said.
Then, the three of them burst into laughter but it comes to a quick halt when they heard a soft whimper from the doorway and they look up, finding Bigfoot is huddled by the entrance of the barn. Immediately, the happy demeanors on their faces fall as the creature's bottom lip trembles.
"Bigfoot, waitโ"
Bigfoot bursts out crying and dashes away while the three of them follow her out, running into Michelangelo, Donatello, Henry, and Eclipse.
"What did you guys do? Why is Bigfoot crying?" Eclipse questioned.
Henry narrowed his eyes at them as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Don't tell me you guys were making fun of her."
"We didn't mean it! We were just joking around..." Leonardo stammers.
"About the makeup..." Casey adds.
"And the weird soup she keeps making for Donnie..." Mara adds.
"You are the last person who should be making fun of someone else for their appearance," Henry told Leonardo before looking over at Casey and Mara. "And for you two, I expected better."
"What is wrong with you guys?" Michelangelo snapped.
"We didn't mean to hurt her feelings." Casey responded.
"Bigfoot! Wait up!" Donatello called, running into the woods with Michelangelo, Henry, and Eclipse right behind him.
Luckily, Henry's wolf senses were able to help them track Bigfoot by using her scent but when they noticed a silhouette ahead of them, Henry frowned as something about it didn't feel right.
"Waitโ"
But it was too late as both Donatello and Michelangelo had already jumped to tackle Bigfoot, though it was just a pile of fur.
"What theโ?" Donatello questioned. "Huh?"
Henry's ears pricked at a sound and he grabbed Eclipse's hand before pulling them both down to take cover in a nearby bush before they could get spotted.
Something whistled behind the other two mutant turtles and the two turned to see a log swinging right at them. It crashed into them, and everything went black.
"Raph was right, they really are rusty now." Eclipse whispered, shaking her head at her brothers.
"Yep," Henry whispered. "Guess it's up to us to save those two knuckleheads now."
๐๐๐
IT WASN'T THAT hard for Henry and Eclipse to follow them, thanks to Henry's heightened senses as the two kept themselves hidden in the shadows. Both Michelangelo and Donatello were currently tied up, hanging from ropes.
"Puppies... too many puppies..." Michelangelo screamed, waking up. "Donnie, I just had the worst dream aboutโ"
"I'm not sympathetic right now, Mikey," Donatello interrupted. "The Finger has been debating whether to pickle us or stuff us."
"Ooh, pickle! Pickles taste so good!" Michelangelo responded, earning a sigh from his brother.
The Finger picked up the shrunken head around his neck, talking to it. "Ain't got no room for these two on the cart, Mama. Looks like The Finger's gonna have to stuff them right here."
Henry and Eclipse sent each other a smirk and nodded, hopping down from the tree that they were hiding in but made sure to stay hidden still as the two started moving to the other side.
"Hey, Finger! Your mama looks like a raisin!" Henry called out.
The Finger spun around as he held up the shrunken head, giving it a voice. "Who'd said that about me, The Finger?"
"Your mama's so old, that Jesus would pick her up from school everyday!" Eclipse called out next.
The Finger growled. "Don't insult Mama like that!" He held up the shrunken head, speaking for it again. "Destroy them."
"Yeah, I don't think so, dude."
By the time that The Finger had spun back around, Henry slammed a fist into his face that knocked him down.
"You know, ninjas are supposed to check their surroundings before they go jumping in." Eclipse told her brothers as she took out one of her kamas, using it to cut her brothers down.
"Right, sorry sis," Michelangelo said as he and Donatello grabbed their weapons.
As The Finger stood back up and took out a crossbow, the four of them got ready as well. Michelangelo threw one end of his kusarigama at The Finger, who jumped back to avoid the blade. He fired an arrow at the four of them, and they scattered as the arrow exploded behind them. Eclipse quickly took cover in the forest as she made her way towards Bigfoot while the three other teens kept The Finger busy.
The Finger started to pull off some professional wrestling moves as he knocked Donatello to the ground and started to perform a high-dive onto him, but he never gets too as Henry kicks him away from the mutant turtle. The Finger charges at him and goes to put the teenaged boy into a headlock, but Henry easily dodges it as he leaps back and delivers a spinning kick at the pudgy man, knocking him into a tree.
Eclipse notices one of The Finger's quarrels on the ground and with a grin, she bends down to pick it up. "Hey, Finger! How many more explosive bolts you got in that quiver?" She called out.
"Forty-two." He replied.
Eclipse smirks and throws the arrow at the quiver and the next thing that they knew, the bolts exploded. The Finger was blasted into a tree because of the explosion, then another, and another, before getting shot into the air and tossed around before falling straight back down to the ground. The four of them surround the soot-covered hunter as he lifted his crossbow.
"If The Finger's going down, he's taking Bigfoot with him!" Bigfoot managed to pop her head out of the net, whimpering. The Finger blinked, dropping his crossbow. "Bigfootโ Bigfoot's a lady? The Finger can't shoot no lady!" He lowered his head shamefully, holding up the shrunken head. "The Finger is sorry, Mama. He didn't know. He would never hurt a lady."
Bigfoot walked over and picked him up. "There, there... it be okay." The two of them made eye contact and stared for the longest time before Bigfoot held him as he started crying. She held him like a child, turning to the four teens. "Bigfoot take care of sad mans." She turned and walked away.
The four of them blinked and exchanged looks, each one wondering the same thing.
What just happened?

THE NEXT MORNING, April was doing her chore of chopping firewood, when Donatello approached and spoke up from behind.
"Hey, April."
April dusted off her hands and turned to him. "What's up, Donnie?"
"I, um..." he stammered for a minute. "Well, I just wanted to let you know I won't be bothering you with music boxes anymore." He sulked for a moment then smiled. "I get it now. Donnie is to April as Bigfoot is to Donnie." He looked away. "I'm just... a mutant."
April stayed silent for a moment, then smiled at him. "You're not just a mutant, Donnie. You're my mutant."
She leaned up and kissed him briefly, then turned as she made her way to the farmhouse. Behind her, Donatello sighed.
"I understand nothing."
"So, while we did discovered Bigfoot, none of us have any idea what happened after she left with The Finger. We all just kinda assumed that they're happy... somewhere."
