"With enemies like the Shredder or the kranng comes new enemies from the shadows. Sometimes those enemies are right in front of us, hidden in plain sight or sometimes those enemies are just waiting for the right moment to strike."

THE SEVEN TEENAGERS couldn't get anymore glad that tonight's training was something simple and easy, especially with all the craziness they went through lately. For their usual training, Splinter decided that it would be a simple one-on-one sparring since it would be the first training session that Kaz and April would be joining them in. Leonardo and Henry were the first to go with their identical skills, then it was Eclipse and April, then it was Briana and Kaz, and then it was Leonardo and Michelangelo.

With practice nearly being over, Raphael and Donatello were the last ones to go while the others were sitting on their knees next to Splinter. Both Raphael and Donatello took several steps away from each other before drawing their weapons.

"Don't worry, Donnie," Raphael said, sporting his usual smirk that he always had whenever he felt confident. "I'm in a good mood today, I'll easy on you."

"Don't do me any favors, Raph." Donatello said before glancing over in the girls' direction or more specifically, in April's direction. He saw April looking at him and grinned before turning back to his brother. "Um... in fact, maybe... you'll be the one... who gets done easy on... by me! So, yeah!"

"Worst smack talk ever." Michelangelo whispered to Leonardo and Henry, who nodded.

"Hajime!" Splinter said.

Immediately, Raphael let out a yell as he lunged at his brother, who charged forward. He swung his staff, but Raphael ducked and avoided it. He quickly spun to strike Donatello's back, but his brother had already raised his staff and blocked the blows. He jumped behind Raphael and shoved his staff forward, jabbing Raphael in the shell and sending him stumbling forward. Then, Donatello moved his staff to right between Raphael's legs and smacked his knees, making him give out. Then, he swung the staff at his brother's legs and knocked the red masked mutant turtle right off his feet and onto his shell.

"Hey, I got him!" Donatello said, sounding delighted. "April, did you see?" All April gave him was a bigger smile.

It happened in an instant because one minute Raphael was on his shell and the next, he flipped over and kicked Donatello's feet from under him, sending him on his front. The purple masked mutant turtle quickly got back to his feet, but before he could get his staff back, the red masked mutant turtle used one of his sais and managed to catch one of his brother's wrists between the blades. Then, Raphael swung Donatello around a bit before catching the remaining wrist in the other sai and swung him to the front.

"Say hi to them, Donnie," Raphael said as he then adopted a high-pitch voice as he made his brother wave. "Hi, Mikey! Hi, Bri!"

Briana had to bring a hand to her mouth to hide her laughter. The old 'Donnie Puppet' goof that Raphael did whatever chance he got when they were kids always got to her. If anything, she'd admit to herself that she even liked it since it was always enough to make her laugh. As a small chuckle left her lips, Briana wasn't the only one that couldn't hide their laughter. Leonardo, Henry, Michelangelo, and Eclipse had no problem with letting it out while Kaz tried and failed to bite back his laughter and April couldn't help but simply giggled.

"Donnie!" Michelangelo cheered, laughing. "Haha, amazing! I didn't even see his lips move! He's like a puppet who can throw his voice... to himself. Wait..."

"Yame!" Splinter ordered. "Raphael, that is enough."

With that, Raphael swung his brother aside, releasing his wrist as Donnie fell onto his shell. Then, Raphael marched over and sat on his brother's stomach.

"Thanks for going easy on me." Raphael bragged, still wearing his usual smirk. He patted his brother's chest before standing while Donatello continued to lay there, looking defeated.

WITH TRAINING NOW over, everyone was within the living room and doing their own things. Raphael was sitting on the couch, Leonardo and Michelangelo were by the pinball machine, Eclipse was sitting on the couch with one of her comic books, Briana and Kaz were sitting on the couch with Max, Henry was on his T-Phone as he was texting Zane, one of his best friends that he met at summer camp before Zane had transferred to Roosevelt High, and April was sitting on the other end of the couch, messing with something on her laptop.

There was a strange sound that sounded like electronic music coming from her laptop that grabbed everyone's attention.

"Not bad!" Michelangelo said, coming over with the blue masked mutant turtle. "Needs more drums."

As soon as those words were said, the music stopped and the icon for it dropped down.

"What was that?" Eclipse asked.

April shook her head. "I don't know. Some random email I got. It just... started playing on its own."

"Sounds like some kind of telemetric sine wave sub carrier." Briana said, looking down at Max as she petted him behind his ears, his tail wagging excitedly from the pets.

Two seconds of silence followed her words as everyone but Donatello stared blankly.

"Uh... dumb that down a notch." Leonardo suggested.

"It's an interference modulation used to encrypt covert transmiโ€”" Donatello started for her but his rambling was cut off by Michelangelo pressing a finger to his mouth, silencing him.

"Not enough notches." Michelangelo said.

Donatello glared at him, slapping his hand away. "A secret message!" He said irritated.

"Who would be sending me a secret message?" April asked.

"Well," Donatello started. "If you want, I could take it and try to decode it. I could figure out what the message says and who sent it."

"That's great!" April closed her laptop and lifted it to Donatello, who took it, then turned and headed for the lab.

๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘

THE NEXT DAY, Briana woke up with a small yawn as she stretched her arms. She didn't realize that she and her brothers and sister had fallen asleep on the couch and with no sign of Kaz or April in the area, it was easy to assume that the two had gone off to their own rooms last night. Feeling a soft tug on her jacket, Briana looked down and spotted Spike pulling gently on her black leather jacket. She smiled and lifted her arm, patting his head gently.

"Hi, buddy." Briana greeted the small turtle.ย  She watched as Spike smiled up at her before crawling away.

Briana went to go stand up but before she fully could, Max had leapt into her arms, knocking her back down from behind. She giggled a little as Max licked her face and then, she lifted him up a little as she pushed herself into a sitting position.

"Hi to you, boy," Briana said with a smile, petting Max while his tail wagged happily. "You know you're my good boy."

Max gave a small bark as if he was saying yes before he gave her one last lick and happily started playing with one of his chew toys. Briana smiled and pushed herself onto her feet just as both Leonardo and Henry were starting to wake up as well. Briana left the living room for a minute and came back from the kitchen with Max's food bowl. She set it down next to Max, as the brown furred dog happily accepted his food and began eating.

While Raphael, Eclipse, and Michelangelo were waking up, Henry looked around the room with confusion. "Anyone seen Donnie?"

"Do dreams count? Cause last night, I dreamt that Donnie and I were rodeo detectives, and there waโ€”" Michelangelo started.

"Mikey, I'm serious." Henry told him.

Michelangelo shrugged. "Okay, but you'll never know who stole the Buckaroo Diamond."

"You done?" Raphael asked, picking up the wandering Spike and feeding him a piece of popcorn.

"Yeah..." Michelangelo paused but then exclaimed, "It was the clown!"

"Donnie?" Leonardo called, but was met with silence.

Eclipse shrugged. "Let's check his lab, he probably fell asleep in there again."

They proceeded to the lab, only to find it empty as well. As they stepped further into the lab, Henry felt his nose twitched out of nowhere, noticing that Donatello's scent was staleโ€”as if he had been here but then left.

Michelangelo headed straight for the desk where he opened April's laptop. "Guys, I think I know where he went."

At once, they approached the desk and stood behind him. On screen was the same page April had been on last night with the little icon that held the secret message.

"Oh, there," Raphael said bluntly.

"That's the secret message," Leonardo said. "Donnie must've followed it."

"After he figured out what it was." Eclipse added.

"What would Donnie do? What would Donnie do?" Michelangelo asked out loud.

Raphael picked up the laptop. "Gimme that thing!" Growling, he shook it in his hands.

"Raph," Henry said, grabbing his arm to stop him from shaking it. "Let's not break our only clue of where Donnie went." He took the laptop from him to prevent him from causing any damage to it.

The secret message suddenly started stuttering and a voice spoke out.

"April, it's dad." The voice of Kirby O'Neil made them freeze. "I pray you get this message. I've been moved to a secret kranng facility. If you can, send help."

"Dad?"

Everyone inside the lab whipped their heads around to spot April standing in the doorway, a look of fear in her eyes.

๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘

ONCE FIGURING OUT where the secret message lead Donnie to, the rest of the mutant turtles, Boy Danger, and Captain Violet had left the lair and were now running and jumping across rooftop-to-rooftop with both Leonardo and Boy Danger leading. With the sun starting to rise, they had to be careful if they didn't want to get caught.

"Since when does Donnie try to do something like this on his own?" Boy Danger questioned.

"I know," Leonardo agreed. "It doesn't make sense."

They all leapt off the building and landed on the edge of the next one. Captain Violet, Michelangelo, and Eclipse came to a stop that made both Boy Danger and Leonardo stopped too.

"Uh, maybe because I told him he has no shot with April?" Raphael said sheepishly.

"You what!?" Leonardo exclaimed, walking back over to him. "Why would you say that?"

"Because he has no shot with April."

"Yeah, but you don't tell him that!"

"Okay, really? You're gonna agree with him about that?" Boy Danger asked, raising an eyebrow at that. "I know Donnie has a crush on April and none of us know how she feels, but what makes you guys think that Donnie wouldn't be able to find a girl that really likes him?"

"Because we're mutants," Raphael said as if the answer was obvious. "What kind of girl is gonna go for someone like Donnie?"

"Who knows what'll happen! Maybe we'll meet a girl in the future and she'd actually like Donnie even if he's a mutant," Boy Danger said. "Is that really so hard to believe for you guys?"

"Yes, because we're mutant turtles," Raphael said while Leonardo and Michelangelo shrugged, the two agreeing with him. "It's different with you and Clipsโ€”"

"How so?" Boy Danger asked.

"You two liked each other since we were kids. And you don't care if we're mutants." Raphael said.

"Cause I don't care about that," Boy Danger said. "I still treat you guys as if we were the same. And how do you not know if we won't meet someone who not only won't freak out when she sees you guys but she'll actually like you guys? You don't know what happens in the future. Look, if the time comes where we meet someone and she's not freaked out and she actually grows to like one of you guys, then in my opinion, she's lucky because any girl would be lucky to be with one of you guys. And if she doesn't then, it's her loss."

Stunned by his words, the three male mutant turtles just stood there and rather than looking surprised, they actually looked touched. As for the golden masked mutant turtle, Eclipse swears that she could feel her heart racing in her chest faster in her chest as she stared at the team's second-in-command. She couldn't help but let her emerald green eyes gaze at himโ€”since one of the things that she's always liked about him was that he always knew just what to said to make someone feel better or to ease the situation better.

"What if she's faking and sells us out instead?" The orange masked mutant turtle asked curiously.

"Then she'll be dead cause I'd kill her."

"Would you actually?"

"If she sells you out to the public? Yes." Boy Danger answered simply. "Now, come on, let's go find Donnie before he gets into trouble."

He turned and raced off over the roof with Leonardo, Captain Violet, and Eclipse following him. Michelangelo placed a hand on Raphael's shoulder.

"The heart's a soft muscle, man," he said softly. "A soft muscle. Squish..." then he raced after the others and Raphael followed him.

It took them twenty minutes to reach their destination that turned to look like a normal mechanic shop. Carefully, they made their way down to the building and snuck toward the shop. There was one small door at the front and they headed towards it.

"You sure this is the right place?" Eclipse asked.

Leonardo knelt in front of the door and picked something up, holding the silver lock up.

"Either Donnie's here, or the garage mechanic stole his lock pick." Leonardo said.

"So the mechanic could break into his own place?" Michelangelo asked skeptically. "Come on, Leo. Think this stuff through, dude. Let's move!" Leonardo turned, glaring down at him as his youngest brother faltered under his gaze, laughing nervously. "You, uh... you knew that."

"Hm."

"Alright... you say it."

"Let's move!"

They opened the door and walked inside as Michelangelo cheered happily to break the tension, only for Raphael to smack the back of his head. They lowered the door once they got back inside and looked around. The shelves of cars filled the room as it looked like your typical mechanic shop. In the center of the room, a kranng droid was crushed underneath.

"Pretty sure Donnie took this guy out." Raphael said.

"How can you tell?" Captain Violet asked.

"He looks bored to death."

Boy Danger felt his ears twitched at the sound of an engine rumbling.

"Hey, guys!" Michelangelo called, and they all turned to see him inside a car on a shelf. "Check out my ride! Whooo!"

Luckily, they all jumped to the side in time as the car lurched forward, slamming head-first into the ground before crashing down. Dust cleared as everyone stood up, clearly unharmed before noticing that the end of the car had slammed into a small control panel, and behind it, a spot where a car had been disappeared to reveal a dark passage down.

"Nice, Mikey!" Leonardo said with a grin.

Michelangelo, stood inside the car, smiled. "Oh, yeah, Iโ€”"

"Do not say I meant to do that," Eclipse said.

Michelangelo frowned.

"Let's move, team." Leonardo ordered.

๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘

THE STEEL-STONE walls definitely looked more kranng-y as they reached around the corner. At the end of the hall was a tall, steel door with a dissembled kranng droid beside it.

"He must've gone through this door." Raphael said.

He marched forward, reached up, and pulled at the door, trying to force it open but no matter what, he couldn't get it to open. Then, he took out his sai and right when he was about to start stabbing the door, Boy Danger grabbed his wrist to stop him.

"Again, what would Donnie do?" Boy Danger asked.

Captain Violet noticed the scanner beside the door and glanced over at the droid. Walking over to the droid, she took out her katana blade and used to cut the droid's head from the body. Then, she walked over to the scanner with the droid's head in hand and reaching it, she pressed the robot head against the scanner. A bright, red light lit as the door beeped and opened.

The moment that Captain Violet dropped the head, the alarm had started ringing loudly.

"Violet did it!" Michelangelo said, pointing at her.

Captain Violet whipped her head to glare at him and stuck her tongue out at him. Several kranng droids ran toward them from the other end of the hall as the others drew their weapons.

"We've got company!" Leonardo said.

It took about fifteen minutes to get rid of the kranng before they were able to continue down the hallway and looked in every cell that happened to be opened. As they were all looking through the cells, Boy Danger felt his ears twitched at the loud noises: loud banging, coupled with sharp snarling of some kind of animal.

And he wasn't the only one that heard it.

"Uh, what was that?" Captain Violet asked.

"Whatever it is, I don't like the sound of it." Eclipse said.

"Maybe if we ignore it, it'll go away," Michelangelo said. A second later, the snarling came again, louder. "Someone's not ignoring it!"

Something huge swung down in front of them, hanging from the ceiling as it gave them a better view at what it was. A gigantic mutant lizard with black and orange skin wearing some kind of white armor around its torso and limbs. The creature snarled and aimed his gun at them. It fired, shooting little orange bullets.

"Move!" Raphael shouted.

The bullets came right at them and at the last second, they dropped to the ground, flat on their stomachs. The bullets shot past and hit a closed cell door. Then, there was a loud boom just as the door exploded, and dust filled the room. They all coughed, slowly getting back up onto their feet and looked to see the gaping hole where the cell door once stood, only to find a bald, red-bearded man and a familiar purple masked mutant turtle.

"Donnie!"

"Mr. O'Neil!" Leonardo said, addressing April's father.

"Big, beady-eyed lizard-y thing with weapons!" Michelangelo yelled.

Just as they turned the giant mutant, the large creature had screeched at them while it stood in the middle of the hall.

"Okay, what the heck is that thing?" Eclipse questioned.

"Donatello calls it the Newtralizer." Kirby answered.

"You named something without me!?" Michelangelo demanded.

As his brother stared down at him, the Newtralizer started firing again as they all turned and bolted. They ran down the hall, following after Donatello, who led them to the end of the hall where another set of doors were. The doors opened as they reached them and they ran inside. The doors closed tightly behind them.

Michelangelo was still glaring at his brother. "You named something without me!?" He asked angrily.

On the other side of the door was the Newtrailzer trying to get inside. "We gotta get outta of this prison." Boy Danger said.

"Technically, this is a detention center," Kirby started. "The difference beingโ€”"

"Not now, Donniโ€”Ohh... sorry, Mr. O'Neil," Raphael said looking sheepish before he glanced over at Leonardo and Boy Danger. "Great, now there's two of them."

Suddenly, a door beeped from behind them and slid open. Everyone turned to see more kranng droids, armed and ready, stepping into the room as they began firing. They took out their weapons and began to deflect the blasts, fighting back against the alien robots.

"Little help!" Michelangelo shouted.

"How about some big help?" Donatello asked as he placed his staff back in his belt as he started messing with the kranng computer.

"Not really the time to check your email!" Eclipse said, slicing through the alien robots with her kamas.

"Donnie, what are you doing?" Leonardo questioned.

"I'm guessing if they had the Newtrailzer locked up, it wasn't because he was their friend." Donatello then slammed his hand on the computer and the front door opened. The Newtrailzer wasted no time in grabbing a nearby kranng droid and throwing him across the room, snarling.

"I guess he likes trashing the kranng." Captain Violet said.

"Who doesn't?" Michelangelo asked.

The Newtrailzer raised his arm around the room and right as the others took cover, the Newtrailzer began firing at every single kranng droid. A few seconds later, every alien robot inside the room was done.

"YEAH!" They all shouted, leaping up onto their feet. The Newtrailzer then aimed his gun at them. "NO!"

The Newtrailzer fired, and they all ducked down to avoid it. The bullets blew up the second door behind them and taking their chance, they turned and bolted out of the room, once again following Donatello, who led them back to the lift that had brought them down in the first place. As soon as they saw it, they boarded the platform.

"We gotta access the control panel." Donatello said irritably.

"I got it," Raphael said as he took out his sai and walked forward.

"Raph, I got it." Donatello said, grabbing his arm to stop him.

Raphael smirked. "Oh, really?"

"Really."

Then, Donatello took the sai from him and stabbed the panel himself. The panel then lurched upward and when it reached the top, it sent them flying in different directions once it stopped sharply.

There was a loud screech again and a dark figure shot up from the level they'd came from and landed on a car.

"Split up!" Boy Danger said.

"Donnie, get Mr. O'Neil out of here!" Leonardo added.

Newtrailzer raised his arm and threw silver discs at them. They all leapt out of the way to avoid getting hit by them. Captain Violet wounded up in a corner with Michelangelo while Boy Danger, Eclipse, Leonardo, and Raphael charged the creature head-on.

"We gotta help them." Captain Violet said.

Michelangelo looked around and smirked, spotting something. "I got an idea, follow me."

And with that, the purple haired girl followed after him towards one of the cars. Following his lead, the two climbed inside and buckled up while the others were fighting the large creature. Once they knew it was time, all the others heard from the two was a yell of, "Booyakasha!"

The others had managed to move out of the way as a car flew off the shelf and landed on top of the Newtrailzer, falling over onto its hood and landing with a loud crash.

"Mikey! Violet!" Boy Danger, Leonardo, Eclipse, and Raphael shouted. The four of them sprinted towards the car.

Michelangelo poked his head out the window, smiling. "Don't worry, we wore our seatbelts." He unbuckled himself and climbed out while Captain Violet did the same on her side.

Captain Violet gave them a thumbs-up with a smile, making her way over to them. "All good."

"Come on," Raphael said, rubbing the top of Michelangelo's head while Eclipse ruffled Captain Violet's hair.

๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘

THE SEVEN TEENAGERS walked through the turnstiles alongside Kirby. He wanted nothing more than to see his daughter when he heard that she was waiting for him back at the lair. April, Kaz, and Splinter had been waiting for them in the living room.

"April?" Kirby asked.

April sat up and whipped around. "Dad?" She gasped. "Dad! Oh, dad, I can't believe it!" At once, she sprang to her feet and ran for her father, wrapping her arms around him. Kirby didn't hesitant to hug his daughter, relieved to see her all safe and sound. April then turned to the others. "You guys saved my dad! Thank you so much!"

"Yeah, the guy you should be thanking is Donnie." Raphael said, pulling his brother in and patting his chest.

Donatello couldn't help but looked flustered. "Well, Iโ€”"

"Seriously, you should've seen him!" Raphael continued enthusiastically. "He was ho-waah! Sheeka! Oh-ha! Blew-blech!"

"Raphโ€”" Donatello cut in, laughing slightly. "I-I-I think that's a littleโ€”"

"We kept saying, 'be careful, Donnie, it's too dangerous!' Raphael piped up. "And Donnie was like, 'Danger? Ha! Nothing will stop meโ€”!'"

"Thank you! Thank you, Raphael!" Donatello said loudly, clapping a hand over his brother's mouth. He released him quickly and turned to April. "Heheh... Th-Those weren't my exact words, buโ€”" he was cut off as April walked up and gave him a soft, long, genuine hug that made Donatello froze, eyes wide.

"Thank you, Donnie." April said sweetly, releasing him and heading back to her father.

Donatello gave a little giggle before falling back on his shell. The others all walked over to stand around him, sporting similar smirks.

"Well, I tried." Raphael said.

"Dude, I'd say you succeeded." Michelangelo said.

"Yeah, he's not gonna forget about this." Eclipse added.

Donatello giggled again, raising his hand and giving a thumbs up while they stared down at him with smirks.

๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‘‘

ETHAN SMITH STOOD at the front while the kranng stood at both sides of the room in a line. He wasn't sure how long his ancestors had known about the kranng and worked with them but he remembers finding out about them when he was a seven-year-old boy and when his father had brought him along to work one day. It was a simple, easy business arrangement his ancestors had made with the alien robots; keep their existence a secret and they'll give him the equipment, the mutagen, or whatever he needed for his experiments.

Sure, working with the kranng means that Ethan would have to be involved in some criminal activity as well but as a scientist, he didn't seem to care. To Ethan, he couldn't help but find the kranng and their plans for the mutagen fascinatingโ€”an ooze that turns people into mutants, how could he not find that fascinating? Applying the mutagen to his experimentsโ€”oh, he could create a whole army, but not an army of mutants.

No, Ethan was looking past that.

He wanted an army of inhuman soldiers and the Shredder was the perfect man to make that army for.

All he had to do was apply the mutagen to an old serum that he had worked on back in the past.

The Phoenix serum, one that would turn a person inhuman with a new ability whenever it was fire, water, or wind powers.

And he knows it worked, because he's seen it worked wonders in one of his experiments. Granted, the ones before were a complete failure but not this oneโ€”not the one he wanted.

Kaz.

The door to the building opens and he watches as the Shredder steps into the room, walking down towards him with Jake and Soren following closely behind him.

"Well?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow at the man.

"The plan that we talked about worked," Ethan informed. "It's been set into motion."

"That alien creature of yours nearly thwarted our objection." Shredder said, glaring over at the kranng.

"Kranng did not expect the turtle known as Donatello to release him." One of the alien robots answered.

"But despite that little objection, the plan still worked," Ethan added. "Kirby O'Neil did in fact escaped with the turtles, Boy Danger, and Captain Violet."

"What about the mind controlled?" Soren asked.

"All set to go," Ethan said. "Kirby is under our control."

"The turtles, Boy Danger, and Captain Violet have undoubtedly brought O'Neil back to their lair," Shredder said as he clenched his fist. "Soon, vengeance will be ours."

"Oh, you didn't think that these were the only enemies we had, right? Yeah, no, there's a bunch more that come along the way. Don't worry, you'll see who they are... eventually."
