( ๑>ᴗ<๑ ) — chapter sixteen
"roppongi"
"I HAVE SOME VERY EXCITING news!"
The four first-year jujutsu sorcerers all stayed silent with dull expressions as their sensei practically burst up and down in excitement. Hiyori couldn't help but raise a cautious eyebrow, experiencing a flashback to a previous situation that reminded her of the current event. She's grown to dislike Gojo's surprises.
"Is this another dead friend surprise?" Hiyori questioned dryly, her eyes were narrowly shaped.
"Unfortunately, I am not able to conjure the dead," Gojo sarcastically smiled brightly in Hiyori's face, a toothy one. Then he paused for a moment, pressing a thoughtful finger to his lips. "Actually, I've never tried it before. Maybe I am."
An infamous mocking or sarcastic Gojo laugh rang in the air, it's the kind that kind of goes along the lines of 'ehehehehe' and it drives Hiyori close to insanity.
"Anyway, you've distracted me from the amazing news," Gojo simply waved Hiyori away, although she didn't even move an inch. She perked a warning eyebrow, shifting her arms over her chest — waiting for him to test her one more time. "We're going to Roppongi!"
And for once — the good news that Gojo always seemed to brag and tease about was actually good news for a change. The aura surrounding the room suddenly flooded with excitement, enthusiasm, and overall sparking with intensity.
"You're joking!" Kugisaki jumped into the air — and I literally mean, she hopped into the air because of the adrenaline pumping her veins.
"Roppongi?" Fushiguro repeated, it was almost as if he was trying to convince himself Gojo had just actually said that.
Yuji eagerly threw his arms in the air as he jumped towards Gojo, and despite the usual effects of his infinity — nothing stopped Yuji from enclosing the white-haired man into a bear hug. The young adult practically nuzzled into Gojo's shoulder as he let our several whoops of excitement.
Hiyori was a little hesitant to believe the lighthearted news. She remembered how disappointed the group had been when they hadn't actually gotten to visit Roppongi last time. Her shining purple eyes hadn't left the body of Gojo, examining his body language.
She wouldn't forget that easy — how easy of a liar Satoru Gojo is.
Kugisaki had a little bounce in her step as she beamed towards her redheaded friend, "Which store should we go to first? I was thinking maybe—"
"—Before you make any solid plans, I should let you know what plans you guys have with me first," Gojo interrupted by waving his index finger towards the first-years to gather their distracted and scattered attention.
Fushiguro and Hiyori didn't change their expressions too much, they were waiting for the other shoe to drop the entire time. Two glass-half empty friends there. Then there was Kugisaki and Yuji, who had both frozen in their bubbling and erratic dancing with defeated glances. Now those are two glass half full buddies.
"Don't look so glum! You get to hang out with your favorite teacher more," Gojo smiled while pointing to himself. Every single student stared with utter contempt, contemplating many things.
"We see you like every other day, Gojo," Hiyori facepalmed, squeezing her eyelids shut while desperately searching for the patience to deal with this white-haired man.
"I promise it'll still be fun. Let me explain the rules," Gojo instructed, he then individually glanced at each of his students. No one seemed to notice when his blindfolded eyes lingered on Hiyori just a little longer. "You have to touch me."
"Excuse me?" Fushiguro inquired.
"What the hell did you just say?" Hiyori practically growled.
"What?" Yuji burrowed his eyebrows.
"I know you're straight playin' right now." Kugisaki rose her arms in disbelief.
"Oh, you kids and your dirty minds!" Gojo dramatically laughed, he swung his arm aimlessly over Yuji's shorter body and slugged around his shoulders. "As you can see, Yuji can touch me perfectly fine right now, because I deactivated my Infinity. And as you all understand from the little bit of information I've given you about my Infinity — when it is activated, the closer you get, the slower you are, blah blah. You all get it?"
The young adults all nodded in agreement, pending for Gojo to continue in his description of their 'plans' with him that apparently involved touching him.
"So, I want all you to try your absolute best to somehow manage to touch me," Gojo slightly taunted, and suddenly the group of four felt their attention being drawn in. "That could include distractions, or maybe some kind of surprise attack I could never suspect. Of course — I'll be working at twenty percent, maybe thirty, to give you all a fair chance."
Seems like a real challenge.
"Sometimes it'll be activated, sometimes it won't. And there's no way for you guys to be able to tell the difference."
"No teaming up?" Yuji questioned, he couldn't help as his brown eyes trailed to Hiyori as he spoke.
"Nope, you are to absolutely work alone. Formulate your own plans or ideas. Think of this as a solo mission, and I'm your target," Gojo responded, and he gave Yuji a final pat on his back as he released his grip. "Try a good punch now, Yuji."
"Sensei. . ." Yuji groaned while his chest fell forward in disappointment. "You always say that and then—"
Yuji was suddenly launched a few yards away, but he seemed to be able to land perfectly fine on his own two feet. Almost like he was had sensed the situation of Gojo taking a single step forward to activate his infinity, because he was already prepared.
"That's the third time you've done that, Sensei," Yuji sighed, suddenly relaxing from his previous tense position. He knocked away dirt that had jumped on his school uniform.
"And yet you still haven't avoided it," Gojo tilted a head in Yuji's direction, a small hint of something he could work on in the future.
Hiyori then clicked her tongue when the thought entered her mind, she then spoke it aloud, "What's the point? Do we get anything when one of us touches you?"
"If," Gojo corrected in a standoffish way, and Hiyori let a little amused scoff escape her lips. "If one of you manages to touch me, you get to spend an extra three days in Roppongi completely free of jujutsu responsibilities."
Then there was some more enthusiasm throughout the crowd, even Hiyori couldn't help but smile at thinking how amazing it would be to have with those days off in such a beautiful place. Not to mention, she would be with her friends — it would only make it ten times more fun.
"But that's if any of you can do it."

"A nightclub? Can you believe it?"
No, Hiyori couldn't believe it, not when Kugisaki had just pegged the question nor when Gojo explained earlier. They would be conducting this 'test' at a nightclub in Roppongi. Gojo claimed that it would hold tons of people which would prove to make it more difficult, but still gives the first-years some advantage with more available chances at surprise attacks or distractions.
"I can't believe I'm wearing this," Hiyori stared at the image reflecting in the long length mirror in front of her, but she could hardly recognize the woman in front of her. "Nobara, you've dressed me as a whore."
Hiyori Hinata was wearing a darker colored lavender mini-dress, with spaghetti straps that traces along her shoulders. The dress reached to be a few inches still above her knee, with a little cut in the fabric in the front to give more attention to her thigh. The dress cupped around her cleavage in a very attractive way, and the fabric was tight around her to really accentuate her hourglass body. The color was a perfect combo with her flamed hair and deep purple eyes.
Kugisaki had a black mini dress glued to her own body as well, this was still tight even to hug around her curves as well. The dress was a tiny bit longer than Hiyori's, and was covered in barely noticed sparkles.
The two women were sharing one hotel room, where Fushiguro and Yuji were sharing another room. And then there was Satoru Gojo, in his own room. Surprisingly, Gojo had still chosen the room beside the girl's instead of a fancy, way-too-expensive suite five floors above that was better suited to his liking.
They had began to settle in a few hours ago, but before they split off in their own ways, Gojo gave the specifics of when and where the training test would be performed. This would also give them the ability to properly dress for the occasion, apparently. So when Gojo said they would be meeting at a nightclub in the Roppongi district at eleven pm — Hiyori was a bit stunned.
"Shut up!" Kugisaki giggled under her breath, and she was attempting to finish curling one of the last few strands of Hiyori's bright red flames she called hair. "Yori, c'mon! Don't you feel even a little bit sexy?"
"I would say heavily uncomfortable is a better word, don't you think if I had to run these heels would break?" Hiyori questioned, glancing down to the silver two-inch heels she was wearing. She didn't like much high heels for two reasons, 1.) because she was already a somewhat tall woman at 5'8, and 2.) she can barely walk in heels to begin with.
"Good thing you won't have to run," Kugisaki smiled at Hiyori through the mirror, adjusting her long curls over the girls shoulders.
Hiyori had to give it to Kugisaki — she knew how to do hair and makeup like a professional. The smokey eyeshadow, her long eyelashes were more obvious from mascara, the light pink blush scattering her cheeks. It was all so beautifully done, and the thick curls swirling down her head gave her such a fun look compared to the normal straight.
Hiyori had to admit, she enjoyed the view glancing back at her. Sometimes with all the sweat and blood and grit she forgot how. . .beautiful she is. A helpless smile traced her lips, a sudden warmth filling her heart as she and Kugisaki had spent over the last two hours getting ready for the night ahead — most of it was spent on the thickness of Hiyori's hair.
They were gossiping like your regular old college girls, about boys and school. With hints of training and jujutsu sprinkled in there, of course. Hiyori had never had such a close girl friend before, she never realized how much she was missing out now that she knew Kugisaki.
"I'm glad we're friends," Kugisaki suddenly dived forward, wrapping her arms tightly over Hiyori's shoulders and chest. Since she was hugging from the back, Kugisaki planted her chin on Hiyori's shoulder. A slight blush traced over the purple-eyed girl from the sudden affection, but she still wrapped her own arms around Nobara.
"I'm glad we're friends too, babe," Hiyori grinned through the mirror, crinkles around her eyes from her bright smile. "We both know we'd die if it was just us with the boys, y'know?"
Nobara waved off aimlessly, "Oh trust me, you're the one who keeps me alive around here."
Hiyori and Nobara shared a few good laughs after finishing getting ready. Next thing they knew, it was about time to start getting serious and ready for the training mission ahead of them.
"I know Gojo said we're supposed to work alone, but I gotta ask — you have a plan?" Nobara questioned as she finished adjusting her hair strands in the perfect place in the hotel mirror — using a somewhat excessive amount of hairspray.
"I have an idea," Hiyori hummed, and her eyes traced Nobara shifting behind her. "Do you?"
Hiyori's idea was to wait in the shadows, cautiously watching everyone else. And once someone else started an attack, she would bounce in for support. Her speed while concentrating with her technique wasn't comparable to any of the other first years, she even blew Yuji Itadori out of the water. So, as long as she was able to properly summon her technique in the packed nightclub, she thought they had a good chance.
"Isn't it obvious?" Nobara swung on her hips to demonstrate a model pose, the long dress absolutely hugged her body in every right way. Hiyori was still a little bit confused, and she pinched her face up as a reply. "Ugh, grow up. We're women. He's Satoru Gojo. Isn't that enough information?"
"What are you trying to do, seduce him to literally touch him?" Hiyori managed to somehow laugh and scoff at the same time. She couldn't help it, that kind of idea hadn't even popped in her mind whatsoever.
"You're telling me that wasn't your plan? Then why'd you let me dress you like a whore?" Nobara popped her head to the side in confusion.
Hiyori gasped while extending her palms over her mouth, "Because you seemed so excited to dress me like a whore!"
"Look, we both should just try this out," Nobara shrugged her shoulders after a moments pause. She popped the dark red lipstick she had just applied into her small black hand-bag. "He pays more attention to you anyway."
Hiyori scoffed, "Yeah, only to start little arguments. I wouldn't necessarily say that's good attention."
"You are one of the smartest people I know, but at the same time the dumbest girl I freaking know too," Nobara groaned dramatically, leaning forward to grasp Hiyori by both shoulders. She gave the girl a good, long shake back into reality. "We learned this in preschool! If a boy teases you, it's because he likes you."
Hiyori's previously entertained expression shifted a bit more serious, but she quickly tried to cover that up with another enormous laugh. Of course she has always heard of that, but that was grade school. So unless Gojo was trying to flirt the same as a kindergartener — Hiyori internally froze.
But he acts the same as a kindergartener.
Before she could start scratching her head at the thought, she refused to dive into it in the first place. There was simply no way, at all a possibility, that Gojo was in complete seriousness flirting with her. It was aimless, not directed towards her, always had some amount of sarcasm — that would be terrible flirting if that's what he was attempting.
"You are completely wrong on so many levels," Hiyori finally responded with a sigh, rolling her eyes.
"Guess we might find out tonight," Nobara wiggled her eyebrows towards the redhead. "How do you think you guys would react if Gojo and I just started making out in front of everyone? Like tongue and—"
Hiyori simply deadpanned, "—I think we would all collectively throw up, like simultaneously. Everything we just had for dinner. The sushi, the—"
"—Okay! Painted enough of a picture, christ, I was just kidding," Nobara interrupted by placing her hands over her ears immediately, and then took a pause before continuing. "We should probably get going, we're already gonna be late."
"Oh, shit. You right."
