"Are you ignoring me?" Asked a soft voice, the voice sounding sad and wavering, a tad bit broken.
Jungkook blinked, looking over. He saw Taehyung who held a small salad with some banana milk and a small fruit cup. "What? No, I'm not ignoring you." Claimed the younger, even though he sort of was. "Erm, uh, have you seen Jeongguk?"
Taehyung set his tray down. "No," he looked down, rubbing his hands together. "Don't change the subject, Kookie. Why are you avoiding me? Did I do something?" He asked warily.
"No, no, no, Taehyung, you didn't do anything wrong." Jungkook placed his hand atop of the caramel-haired. "I didn't get enough sleep so I didn't want to seem cranky towards you." He lied, though he didn't get all that about of sleep.
Taehyung hummed shyly, shrugging. He looked up at Kook, his doe eyes sparkling once they saw Jungkook's eyes. "I don't mind if you're cranky, I could help you. Do you need tips on sleeping? On how to sleep better? I have a bunch."
Jungkook couldn't help but to wonder if it was his ex who made sleeping hard for Taehyung. He gulped, shaking his head. "No, I-I think I'll be fine." He muttered, looking down at the food he hadn't touched.
Taehyung hummed. "So . . ."
"Hey," Jungkook cut him off, not realizing he did so. He wanted to try something, maybe he could have Taehyung say something about it. "Have you ever gotten into a fight?"
Taehyung was taken by surprise, frowning. "A fight? Like a fist fight?" He inquired, watching the other nod. "Uh, no, not that I recall. I don't like fighting."
"Have you ever been hit before?" Jungkook wondered, tilting his head to the side as he asked this question to the confused teen.
"Why are you asking this?" Taehyung didn't feel comfortable answering such a vague question whether he's been hit or not, there was no background to why he was asked this.
Jungkook hummed, forcing a smile. "I-I was just asking. I had a weird dream and you got hit for some reason and-"
"You dreamed of me?" Taehyung shyly inquired.
"What? No! Why would I-?! I mean, like, I did, but not in a creepy wet way, ya know?" Jungkook panicked, his words scrambled. He rubbed his neck, trying not to choke on his spit.
Jungkook wished someone could flog him right now as punishment for acting so stupid.
"Are you okay? You've been acting strange a lot. What happened?" Taehyung placed his hand on Jungkook's thigh.
"Taehyung, I don't think you should touch me, honestly." Jungkook retracted Taehyung's hands away from his body parts, standing up. "I really should go find Jeongguk, I don't know where he is. You go find your friends." He said, throwing away his untouched food before he began to walk away.
Taehyung pursed his lips, looking at the back of Jungkook's head as he glided out of the cafeteria. Taehyung turned back, trying to think of the things he may have done wrong.
He young teen now sat at the table alone, looking over his food. He only drank the banana milk, deciding he wasn't too hungry. He didn't understand what was up with Jungkook or why he was asking these questions for no reason.
Taehyung looked around, seeing Jimin talking to Yoongi and Hoseok-hyung. He threw away his tray, walking over to the small trio that now became four with him there.
He sat beside Jimin who sat across from Hoseok and Yoongi. "Can I stay here, sit with you guys?" Asked Taehyung, trying to shake off the fact that Jungkook was avoiding him and then was asking weird questions.
Jimin grinned widely. "Of course, Taehyung. We were talking about which Jeon Twin was better looking." He chuckled.
"Obviously Jeongguk is the better looking twin. He has this rugged look and looks fine as ever." Hoseok argued. "Who doesn't like a guy who's strong and gives you that sexy look?"
"I'd beg to differ." Yoongi shrugged. "Jungkook takes better care of himself and the coconut haircut suits him better." He took a bite from his udon noodles, shrugging lamely.
"Jiminie here won't tell us what he thinks," Hoseok frowned, pointing a dagger finger at Jimin in accusation.
Jimin just shook his head. "This is kind of stupid. The Jeon Twins look exactly alike beyond the hair and personality, I think they look equally attractive."
Taehyung was giggling and snickering, finding the whole scene hilarious. He came to a halt when Yoongi cleated his throat. "Yah, Tae, what do you think?" Inquired the current oldest.
Taehyung hummed, gulping down the ice in his throat. "Well . . . I think the more attractive twin would-"
"I'm back," Jungkook's voice rang, taking a seat after he helped Jeongguk sit down. Jeongguk had gathered some noddles with a soda, not bothering to say hello. He had gotten quieter since breaking his neck. He still didn't take bullshit from anyone.
"Anyways, we were taking about you guys." Hoseok said, stuffing his face with food, not looking at the twins.
Jeongguk didn't say anything, just pushing soft noodles into his mouth. He didn't look up, he didn't care. He still talked and had fun but the neck was slowly making him angry with it.
He wasn't depressed, he really wasn't. But having his neck secured in one position just wasn't something he enjoyed. Jeongguk was basically counting the days he had left before he could take it off.
So far, it had been two weeks, leaving him with roughly around five weeks, which in total was thirty-five days.
Jungkook sighed, looking over to Hoseok. "What were you guys talking about?" He inquired, sitting beside Taehyung who was drinking away his banana milk.
"We were talking about which of you two were better looking, out of the Jeon Twins." Hoseok said as if he were telling them a simple math equation.
Jungkook stayed silent before giving a low chuckle, shaking his head. "I always ask myself if I made a mistake with being your friends or not."
"You always come back though." Jimin mentioned, the whole table sharing a laugh.
"Unfortunately," Jungkook rolled his eyes playfully, nudging Taehyung's arm who looked over.
The two locked eye contact, their laughters dying out into awkward chuckles. They stared at one another for a moment, soon, both of the teens becoming flustered and turning away; averting their gazes elsewhere.
Taehyung absentmindedly moved closer to Jimin, wrapping his arm around his bicep. Taehyung would never admit to it, but he had something for muscles, loving his strong someone could be.
Jungkook sighed, feeling like he did mess up big time, part of him wish he didn't know about what happened to Taehyung because then he wouldn't have been this curious about the things that he went through.
He was way too curious to let this slip. Taehyung didn't seem like the type to have a bad past, he didn't seem like he was hurt in any way.
The teen was good at covering things up with his cheerfulness, he was good with smiling and pretending he wasn't hurt. Majority of the time, he didn't let things get to him, he didn't let people bother him.
One thing that did bother him was his past relationship and being avoided. He also didn't like when people were mad at him.
As the table chatted about bullshit, the bell went off, indicating it was time to go to their next period. Jimin and Taehyung had biology next. Jungkook had health, Hoseok and Yoongi shared their music class. And Jeongguk has English.
Speaking of the last aforementioned, he didn't get to finish his food. He took his tray and tossed it before walking out of the cafeteria, not daring to look at anyone who looked at him wrongly, not sure what he could do to them if they did.
The rest of the table dispersed their own ways, Jungkook being left alone since he didn't share any classes with anyone at the moment.
Taehyung sighed, stopping Jimin once the rest of the group was gone into their own directions. He hugged himself, looking at his hyung. "Jimin," he muttered, afraid to ask his next question.
Jimin tilted his head, humming softly to make Taehyung keep talking, placing his small hand on the caramel-haired teen's shoulder. "What is it?"
"Did you tell Jungkook?"
