Puddles splashed beneath Riley's boots as she ran, desperately trying to make it to the auto shop before Allison did. She knew her though, and Allison would have already found a way to get a hold of a car, which meant that there was every chance she was already there.

Riley didn't think that she had been this scared since she had been in high school. All she knew was that she needed to find Aayla. Riley would die before she let anything happen to her daughter.

She'd gotten out of the car much closer to the auto shop than she'd thought, seeing it in the distance. Her blood ran cold when she saw two cars on fire out the front. Seeing this only made the woman run faster.

As she reached the shop she almost slipped when she attempted to slow down. Steadying herself, Riley opened the door as quietly as possible and went inside.

The woman tried to use her enhanced hearing but Allison was trained to move without making noise and wherever Eli was, he was managing to keep Aayla quiet too. While she wasn't a fan of the situation, she appreciated him protecting her daughter.

Moving further into the garage she took careful steps, aware that Allison wouldn't need enhanced hearing to know that she was coming. Riley turned a couple of corners but had no luck.

She was about to move to the next set of cars when she felt something touch her shoulder. The woman almost yelped until the person put a hand over her mouth. Looking up, Riley saw Eli inside a car that was on the lift so that Derek could look at the undercarriage.

Eli moved aside slightly to reveal Aayla sitting behind him. The girl's eyes lit up when she saw her mother, crawling past her cousin.

Riley reached up and grabbed onto her daughter, removing her from the car and holding her tight as she sunk down to her knees. She pulled her back enough that she could wipe the young girl's tear-stained cheeks. Kissing her forehead, Riley drew her close to her chest, trying to remain quiet so that Allison wouldn't hear them.

At this point, Eli had climbed out of the car also, kneeling down beside Riley. He leaned over enough to look beneath a car, trying to find Allison. Eli then quickly sat up, looking at the woman beside him as he pointed. Allison was there.

The two of them began to move, crawling as quickly as they could towards the exit, Riley doing so with Aayla in her arms. She couldn't help but notice the limp that Eli had, as well as the scratch across his face. They hadn't been lying when they'd said that Eli couldn't heal yet.

As they moved, the woman used her enhanced hearing to try and keep track of Allison now that she knew that she was in the room. It had been one of the only parts of her ability that she trained, the skill coming in handy when she needed to listen out for her daughter.

If this is some sort of Allison replica, she's going to find us either way, she thought to herself.

Spotting a large wrench, Riley turned and handed her daughter to Eli. She pointed towards the door, telling him without words to go. When he looked like he might argue, she made sure Aayla wasn't looking before making her eyes glow, trying to tell him that she could handle it.

Nodding, Eli took the whimpering young girl into his arms, shushing her quietly. Aayla was still a child after all and had no idea about the supernatural. She didn't even know that her mother wasn't all human yet.

Watching Eli begin to crawl away with Aayla, Riley stood up with the wrench in her hand. Her fingers tightened around it, taking a heavy breath.

It's not Allison.

Running at the woman, she took a swing with the wrench. Allison threw her bow up just in time, allowing the wrench to hit it instead of her head.

The two went back and forth swinging at each other, always ready for the other's blow. No one was gaining the upper hand in this fight.

Shouting in frustration, Riley swung at her repeatedly, not giving up. She was a bit rusty but she was going to do what she could to slow the huntress down and give Eli more time to get away with Aayla.

Allison pulled a knife from her boot, lunging forward and digging her fingers into the hair on the back of Riley's head. She yanked her head back and held the knife to her throat.
"This isn't any of your business, so stay out of it."

"You made it my business when you endangered my daughter," she growled.

Riley was rusty but used her ability either way. At the same time, she elbowed Allison in her ribs, the woman's grip loosening enough for her to twist out of her hands.

Allison stared at her wide-eyed, holding her knife up. She didn't have all of Allison's memories so she hadn't seen anything like Riley before.

"Who are you?" she managed to get out.

"Someone who knew the real Allison," the Sylph answered, trying to cut her oxygen off further.

She was about to take another swing at the woman when someone grabbed onto her wrist. Looking over, she saw that Scott had arrived after all.

"Let go," Riley warned. "That's not Allison."

Scott frowned, "How can you know that?"

"Scott-"

"Go after Eli and Aayla. I'll deal with this."

Riley wanted to argue but she knew where her loyalties lay; she had to find her family. Clenching her jaw, she nodded. She could hear the sound of the two fighting as she left. Riley was tempted to turn back and help but she knew she couldn't.

Running in the direction of the Hale house, she used her ability to maintain a steady breathing rate so that she didn't have to stop. Eli hadn't left much earlier than she had but he still had a decent headstart.

Riley got her phone out as she ran, calling her husband. She tried Stiles three times but he didn't answer.
"Are you kidding me?" she said angrily.

The woman looked up from her phone just in time to avoid being hit by a motorcycle. Riley stumbled backwards, ready to yell at the driver until they removed their helmet.

"Need a ride?" Isaac offered.

Riley smiled but being happy to see him would have to wait. Rushing to the back of his bike, she swung her leg over the seat and climbed on. Putting her arms around him, she was quick to tell him to go.

Isaac revved the engine before taking off down the road towards Derek's. Thanks to his bike, Riley was able to get there a lot faster than she would have on foot.

He barely had the chance to pull over before Riley jumped off of the bike. She stumbled momentarily before running right to the door and shoving it open.

Riley could hear the yelling as she ran inside. Rushing into the living room she got there just in time to see the Sheriff be impaled in the back by an Oni. As the blade sunk into his back he disappeared in a cloud of black smoke.

"Noah!" she shouted.

The Oni turned to look at her sharply, swords raised. They made a warbling, clicking sound that threw Riley back to being a teenager. There had been a lot of things that she had wanted to leave in her past, and the Oni was definitely one of them.

Pushing past it, Riley looked for something to defend herself with. She knew from fondly recalled memories that she was unable to use her abilities on them.

"Riley, look out," Doctor Deaton warned as he ran over.

He had a sword of his own but unfortunately, the Oni managed to disarm him. The man shouted as the Oni sliced its blade through him, turning him to smoke also.

"Deaton!" she heard someone gasp.

Turning around, she saw Eli cowering in the corner. She ran over and crouched in front of him. "Where is Aayla?"

He didn't answer when a loud grunt came from the kitchen. Eli's face sunk in fear.
Riley spun to see Derek fighting in the kitchen. The woman went to get closer only for Derek to shout at her to stay back. He knew that her abilities didn't work on them and if she got closer then they would just attack her too.

Derek threw the Oni through the kitchen window before roaring loudly in anger. He turned to look at his cousin and son. "Riley, you need to get him out of here. Now."

When the Oni reappeared behind the man Eli tried to warn him but wasn't fast enough. The Oni drove its blade through his back until they could see it coming out of his chest.

Derek's breathing grew heavy as his body slowly started to be engulfed by black smoke. He looked down at his son, trying to remain strong, "Remember who you are."

And just like the others, he disappeared without a trace.

When the Oni focused on them, Riley grabbed onto Eli to try and get him to his feet but he was still staring at where his father had been.
"Eli, get up!"

The young boy looked at her with wide eyes before doing what she said. He was clearly in shock but he knew that if he just sat there he was going to end up dead.

"Hey, stop standing around. We-"

Riley's words died on her tongue when she heard something other than the chittering sound of the Oni. It was the dark echo of someone laughing. The sound was familiar and made her blood run cold.

The Nogitsune knew just what to do to destroy her guard completely because no matter how hard she tried, she was unable to forget Void.

A hand waved in front of her face, shouting by her ear. "Riley? Hey, snap out of it!"

"Malia?" Eli said quickly when she put a hand on both of their shoulders.

Waking up from whatever trance she'd fallen under, Riley looked at her sister.
"Take him," Riley instructed, pushing Eli towards Malia. "I need to find Aalya."

"I-I put her in my room and I jammed the handle so no one could get in," Eli told her quickly.

Riley thanked him before running down the halls as Malia went with Eli. When she reached the room she grabbed onto the handle and tried to open the door. Unfortunately, just like Eli had said, it was jammed and Riley didn't exactly have super strength.

She continuously tried to open it, slamming her shoulder against the slab of wood. "Come on!" she yelled, knowing that there was a chance that at least one of the Oni would be coming for her.

"Move out of the way," Isaac called as he ran in her direction.

Riley took a step back just in time for Isaac to kick the door down. The woman ran into the room, her eyes scanning the entire space. Aayla was nowhere to be seen.

Isaac was in there with her searching when Riley turned on him. "Can't you use your werewolf abilities?"

Sure, Riley could have used her hearing. However, it never worked too well when she was under stress and she couldn't think of a more stressful situation than her daughter being missing.

The man stopped, confused by how the thought hadn't occurred to him. "Right. Sorry."

Isaac stopped for a moment and listened for a young heartbeat. When he located it, he pointed to a laundry basket near the closet.

Riley ran over and opened the basket to see a small face look up at her.
"Mummy!" Aayla cried out when she saw her.

The woman breathed a heavy sigh of relief. Reaching into the basket she put her hands beneath her daughter's arms and lifted her out.
"I've got you, sweetheart," she said softly, holding her close. "I'm right here."

"We've gotta go before they find us," Isaac said.

Riley shook her head at this, nodding towards the window. "We've got time."

They both watched as the sun began to rise on Beacon Hills. The Oni shrieked before disappearing in smoke, just like their friends had.

Once they were entirely gone Riley collapsed to her knees, still holding her daughter. She cried quietly as she held her close, so glad to have found her safe and unharmed. There were definitely going to be things that Riley couldn't explain but luckily Aayla was only four and would most likely just think that this was a bad dream.

"Thank god," Malia gasped as she ran into the room, dropping down to hug her sister and niece. "I'm glad you guys are okay. We should go-"

"Wait, where is Eli?" Riley asked quickly.

Malia stopped, her expression sinking, "They took him too."

Riley couldn't help but feel awful. Derek had asked one thing of her before he'd been taken and that was to get Eli out of there. She hadn't even been able to do that.

"There wasn't anything you could do," Isaac told her as if reading her mind. "You had to find Aayla."

He always had a way of knowing what she was thinking. Riley had missed having him around but she understood why he had left. After all, she had done the exact same thing when she fleed Beacon Hills with Stiles.

Climbing to her feet, Riley shuffled Aayla up onto her hip. "We'll find him. We'll find all of them. But right now, we need to go and find the others. Where are they?"

Malia nodded, agreeing to her sister's plan. "They're at the Sheriff's station."

"Is your car here?"

"No."

Riley sighed heavily, before remembering that the three men who had disappeared had most likely driven here and wouldn't exactly need their keys. "That's alright. There's no way that Aayla is getting on the back of Isaac's motorbike, so someone pick a car and let's go. I'm not going to let that fucking demon tear our lives apart again."
