"Because that's disrespectful."

Scaramouche

"And?"

Both of them had their arms crossed, basically staring right into each other's souls.

You groaned in frustration.

You

"Can we not?... Do this right now?"

Xiao

"You have no right to say such things like that.

Scaramouche

"Says who?..."

Childe

"Scaramouche, you might wanna... Stop?..."

Scaramouche

"Why? I can't have someone like him tell me what to do."

You

"We're literally at risk of being eaten by other humans. What importance will the argument between you two have?"

Scaramouche

"Hmph."

Scaramouche then broke the deadly eye contact going on between them.

You

"Tch... Can't believe you guys."

You said, just under your breath.

You guys stayed in there for hours, in total silence and awkwardness. Childe was dozing on the ground, Scaramouche was messing with papers, and Xiao was simply seated against a wall as you were doing the same.

Thankfully, the Infected weren't aware that you were in that room anymore, you could tell since all the banging went away.

Scaramouche

"Man is anyone else hungry?... Or is it just me?"

Scaramouche finally broke the silence.

Xiao

"I'm starving."

Childe

"Same."

All of them quickly spoke.

You

"I don't have much, but it's better than nothing... I guess?"

You reached out for your bag, bringing out just a few crackers and some water.

You

"All this was supposed to make me last for at least a week but... You guys need it."

Scaramouche

"You expect us to survive with that?..."

You

"Oh my- Scaramouche, don't even at this point."

Scaramouche

"Okay, okay, just saying. A few crackers and water isn't enough to get us full."

You

"And we're aware of that. This shit is all that we have at the moment, so it's either I give you a share or you don't get shit at all. Jeez, you've really gotta work on your attitude, y'know that?"

 Childe

"To be honest, I really don't think that it'll be possible for Scaramouche to ever change that attitude of his. He's been like that forever."

You

"Then it's best that he starts working on it now."

You gently placed a bottle of water for Childe and Xiao right beside them, and with the 3rd one you had, you firmly threw it right at Scaramouche.

Scaramouche

"Jeez! Are you trying to kill me with a damn bottle?!"

You

"Oh I dunno, am I?"

You said, sarcastically.

All of them quite literally tore off the cap of the water bottles and nearly finished them all in one gulp. 

You

"... Wow. If you guys wanted water you could've just asked me if I had anything on me, y'know?"

Scaramouche

"Well it's your-"

You

"I don't wanna hear it."

Childe

"I was... Afraid of asking."

The others agreed.

You

"Pfft, you guys don't need to be afraid of asking me anything in this kind of situation. And Scaramouche? Afraid of asking?... I was quite sure that he was just gonna steal my bag and make a run for it."

Scaramouche

"That's not such a bad idea."

Realization then hit Xiao.

Xiao

"Where's your water bottle?..."

You

"... You guys need it more than I do."

Then, you pulled out a few crackers from your bag and gave a decent amount to each. It was then you realized that Xiao was just holding the crackers and staring at them.

You

"Xiao?..."

Unlike Xiao, the others were just messily eating them with no manners at all. You didn't mind, you never had proper manners either.

Xiao

"Hm?"

He snapped out of it, looking right back at you.

Xiao

"Uh... I don't know what these are."

You

"Crackers?... You don't know what they are?"

Xiao

"No."

You were about to say something, then just realized that they probably don't eat this type of snack often in their world.

You

"Uhm... Are there any other foods you eat? Y'know if you want I could go out and..."

Xiao

"I personally prefer almond tofu but... I don't think it's possible to be made here. And, it's too dangerous to go out."

You

"Here, then give these a try."

Xiao

"How do I know if I like it or not?..."

You

"Well... Trying it is the only way to find out."

Xiao

"So do I just..."

You

"Yeah. Watch."

You took one from his hand and took a small bite out of it.

He then did the same action as you did, looking a bit confused.

Xiao

"It's... Definitely something different."

His confused look went away.

You

"So, how do you find it?"

Xiao

"It's not bad, not good either."

You

"Ah, that's how most people feel about crackers... I think."

Childe

"So... Not to be pushy or anything, but when do you think we'll be able to get out of here?"

Scaramouche

"Childe, you plan to get out of here?!"

Childe

"Well doing something is better than doing nothing in this room, am I right?!"

The two started arguing, once again. 

You

*Sigh* "It depends if they're active. I mean, at night time I rarely see them. I've got no idea where they're hiding, but I guess we could try going out during the nighttime?..."

Scaramouche

"Well, what if we can't see shit?"

You

"Well y'know what- We are going to see shit because we're not as blind as you."

Scaramouche

"Oh please."

Xiao

"So then it's settled. We all go out when the moon is up."

You

"Exactly! See, Scaramouche? Xiao actually knows how to think, unlike you."

Scaramouche then went on and on with all the insults that came to mind, prompting Childe to cover his loud-mouthed lips with his hand and drag him across the room, away from you, for Scaramouche just happened to love clashing with you.

More hours passed, Xiao was still surprisingly eating crackers. You were starting to think that he actually liked them at that point, or maybe he was just really hungry still. 

It soon came to the point where Xiao had finished the rest of the crackers in the pack.

Xiao

"Sorry. I was hungry."

Scaramouche

"What the hell do you mean sorry?!"

Childe

"Scara, enough!"

He then proceeded to hold him down like a damn rabid dog. Little mf doesn't know how to stfu.

Anyway, the moon had eventually risen, and time had passed quite quickly since all of you had been more comfortable conversing with one another. Scaramouche, in particular, had been content to insult you from the time you pointed a gun at his head. Should've shot him right then and then tbh /j. This was true for everyone, but not so much for Xiao. He spoke at times, but he wasn't as outgoing as the rest of you were with one another.

You

"Alright, let's head out."

You grabbed your bag, feeling much lighter now that the heavy-ass water bottles weren't in there anymore.

You looked around to see if the others were ready after propping it up on your back. They weren't carrying your giant ass backpack on their backs, so of course, they'd be prepared.

(i find it quite funny bc scara is like my favourite character of all time in genshin, pls don't judge on the type of person i am for liking him, but yet i'm still bullying him 💀)
