You

"... Fine."

You glared at Xiao with such an angry look, he was standing right in front of you actually. He was quite close.

You took a deep breath in, and just as you could feel that drop in your heart, you quickly opened the door, kicked Xiao out, and closed it.

Xiao

"Hey!"

Before Xiao could reach for the handle to shove himself back inside that room, you locked the door, the sound of the lock resounding in his ears.

Xiao

"Y/N, please!"

You

"Xiao, soon enough, I'll be just like one of the mindless Infected. It's dangerous out there, in the hall. I want you to run to the 38th floor and find the others, ple-"

Xiao

"I told you, for the 3rd time, I am not leaving your si-"

You

"Xiao, just leave my side!... Just this once! You're going to die, you know that both of us don't want that!"

Xiao

"I don't want you to die!..."

You

"Xiao, I promise I won't die! Even though I won't be able to take control of my own mind, I'll find a way!..."

Xiao

"... Scaramouche said he'd find another way to get him out of something, that obviously didn't work."

You

"... Xiao, that's different."

You could see and hear the doorknob rattling; Xiao was literally planning to break it just to get to you as he stared through your red eyes, through the door's window.

Xiao

"Fine. If you won't let me in there, then, please... At least let me stay by your side before your turn into one of them. Let me have this time."

You sniffled, visible tears uncontrollably filling your eyes.

You

"... Xiao, they'll get to you."

Xiao

"I don't care. As long as I get this time with you."

Xiao placed his hand on the window, just out of reach with holding yours. You did the same, the glass pane preventing you from making contact with his hand.

Frustrated and defeated, Xiao laid his forehead on the glass pane of the door. You could see the tears falling on the ground from his face.

You could already feel it, the feeling of wanting to break down that door and eat Xiao alive.

You

"Xiao! I will never fucking forgive you if you just let yourself get eaten by a bunch of random people from a world that you don't even belong in! I told you to run!"

You suddenly screamed, cracks in your voice were breaking down your tone. Xiao lifted his head from laying it on the glass, staring at you.  

Xiao

"!..."

You could tell you were about to bash open that door, so you knocked yourself out by banging your head on the tough surface of that door.

Xiao

"Y/N, stop it!"

Your hand was released from the glass, you were just sliding down the wall with blood leaking out from your head.

Xiao looked left and right, bouncing his leg impatiently as the Infected were running towards his way.

Xiao

"... Tch, I'll come back for you! I promise!"

He yelled as loud as he could for you to hear him, even though he was well aware that you were unconscious. 

He ran to the right since the left side of the hallway had fewer Infected people. Childe and the others had gone to the 39th floor to look for Xiao and you after safely and unexpectedly making his way out of the crowd of Infected.

Childe

"Xiao! Where's Y/N?!"

Xiao looked at everyone, his eyebrows furrowed. His eyes were still red and swollen from sobbing.

Scaramouche

"Don't tell me they really let it get to their head..."

Hu Tao

"What?! They were our only way out of this!"

Scaramouche

"We'll find a way."

Childe looked down the hallway, trying to spot you. They ended up closing in on all of them, leaving them with only the choice to run.

Childe

*Sigh* "Scaramouche, you say that much too often."

All of them began running, yet Xiao didn't even notice how exhausting the run was since all he could think about was you, those dreadful red eyes of yours taking up most of the space in his thoughts.

Scaramouche

"Xiao, keep up!"

Xiao

"I wanna go back."

All of them stopped running, making loud noises against the hard ground with their footwear.

Childe

"Xiao, we can't! Why do you wanna go anyway?!"

Xiao

"I don't care if you don't wanna go back up there, I'm going back. There's gotta be something else in that room, there's gotta be."

Hu Tao

"Come on Xiao, we don't have time for this!"

Ignoring them, Xiao turned around and ran in the direction he had just come from.

"Xiao!"

Hu Tao

"Xiao, stop it!"

Because of Xiao's actions, they followed right behind him. 

He dashed along the vast hallways of the 39th floor. He came to a sudden halt in the entirely empty room where you were asleep. You were still on the ground, with an enormous pool of blood surrounding your head.

Xiao

Y/N's Infected... The wound on their head shouldn't be so severe.

As impossible as he had thought it had been, he tried his best to not worry, he just needed to go look in that room. 

When he arrived at the sole room on the 40th floor, he immediately constructed a barrier out of all the desks and chairs he could locate, as the door had been destroyed by the Infected. He had no idea that others were following him.

He searched every single spot in the room, looked through tons of papers, and even moved the heaviest of furniture in the room. This took him quite some time.

Hu Tao

"Xiao! Xiao, it's us!"

They banged on the barricade to get his attention, making it more unstable.

Xiao couldn't pay attention, he had just found something that could've changed everything.

A whole ass case filled with a shit ton of antidotes. He couldn't believe what was laid upon his eyes. And to add on, there was more than just one case.

Childe

"Xiao, take down the barricade!"

Before they knew it, Xiao happily ran right through the barricade, all the furniture toppled over. There was determination on his face.

Childe gave him a concerning look, looked at the others, then started chasing him down once more.

Childe

"Hey! What is that?!"

Xiao didn't exactly have a smile on his face, but a somewhat mixed look of shock and a small grin.

Xiao

"Take it. There's a total of 15 cases with over 700 tubes of the antidote included in all of them."

Scaramouche

"You're kidding! You actually managed to find it?!"
