"Wait... He's..."

Xiao finally got a hold of your gun while you were distracted and focused on the Infected person from Teyvat.

"Xiao- What are you doing?!"

He threw the gun all the way to the other side of the floor.

You

"Hey!-"

Childe

"... Zhongli!"

You

"Wha... Who?... Wait- You know him?!"

You looked at Xiao.

Xiao

"And that's... Ganyu and Keqing..."

You

There's more of them... I'm sorry.

All 3 of them, Zhongli, Ganyu, and Keqing had already been bitten. 

Zhongli, walking quite strangely, started running right towards Childe and Hu Tao. They both needed to move away, but nothing could bring them to do so. 

Right before Zhongli could attack both Hu Tao and Childe, you tugged on his air which dragged him away from Childe and Hu Tao. 

You

"Childe! Hu Tao! Scara! Run upstairs!"

Hu Tao listened, slowly taking fearful steps to the south stairwell and she soon enough sped up to start running once again. Childe stood there, still being unable to move. Scaramouche was too occupied with attacking nearby enemies.

You soon knocked Zhongli down, your left hand held his head to the ground as he struggled to bite you whereas your right hand held a blade that was put up to his neck. 

Xiao

"Y/N, stop!"

You

"I'm sorry! If they won't get off our backs, then there's no other choice!"

Xiao

"Please! Not him!"

Xiao tried pulling you off of him, but Childe grabbed him and tried to run upstairs. However, Xiao refused to follow to the upper floor, stopping Childe from moving on.

Childe

"Xiao, you heard what they said!... There's really no other way!"

Xiao

"Are you really just going to continue killing for the rest of your life?! Is that what you wanna make a living out of?!"

You had thought about it again, you'd completely forgotten that the only reason why you were in this tower... Was to get an antidote. If you were able to get away, then you could cure Zhongli and the others from Teyvat who had been infected. Slowly, your grip on Zhongli's head was released and your hand shakily moved away from his neck as he continued to move around, trying to bite you.

So, with this fact of realization, you quickly jumped away from Zhongli so that he wouldn't be able to keep up with your speed and bite you.

You

"Scaramouche, let's go!"

Scaramouche struggled with defeating his enemy, kicking one out the window after hearing that you're going to leave them behind.

You waited for Scaramouche to get in front of you, you could see Xiao looking behind himself as Childe had his hands tight on his wrist.

For a minute, you could see how thankful he was just by looking at his expression.

Once Scaramouche was in front of you, you got the signal to start running as fast as you could to escape this situation. 

You took 6 steps forward, then stopped. The sounds of rushing footsteps echoed in your ears. You could feel a wave of pain run from your neck through your entire body. Xiao's thankful expression turned into complete worry, he stopped running.

Childe

"Xiao! What's the holdup?!"

Childe looked at what Xiao was so terrified of, Scaramouche turned around to look too.

All 3 of them heard a loud thump and the sharp sound of a blade falling on hard ground. 

Xiao

"Y/N!"

Xiao yelled, true terror in his voice.

Turning your head a little to the right, looking down, you saw blood dripping down your clothing.

Childe

"You've... Got to be kidding me... There's no way..."

Everyone's eyes were so concentrated on the fact that... They had seen you get bitten by none other than Zhongli, with a fierce glow in his eyes. 

It was soon then when you realized how bad this pain was, you were screaming in both pain and fear. Just how could you let this happen? Zhongli's teeth dug deep into your neck, more blood began to pour out.

Just as Xiao was about to run over to you, knowing just how there was no possible way to save you from this, Childe tightened his grip on Xiao's wrist and started running to the next floor.

Xiao

"No- Stop! Go back!"

Xiao was trying to pull his wrist away from Childe's tight grip, but it was no help at all.

Childe

"We can't!"

Scaramouche was running right behind them, having that scene repeat over and over in his head as he ran in fear. 

Xiao

"Turn back! At least let me go!"

Scaramouche

"Xiao, they're gone!... You have to accept that!"

Xiao

"No! There's another way!"

With enough force, Xiao pulled his arm away from Childe and tried to run back, but he was blocked by Scaramouche.

Scaramouche aggressively put his hands on Xiao's shoulders.

Scaramouche

"Xiao, you have to learn how to accept what we just saw! There's no turning back!"

Xiao

"But!-"

Scaramouche

"You want to go save them - why?! Because they just fed you some crackers and cereal and taught you how to use a shower?! You have to let go, it's the only damn way!"

Xiao stopped resisting with his tear-filled eyes. He looked back one more time, uncontrollable tears racing down his cheeks, having that he had lost once again - another friend of his.

Childe

"I know how difficult it is to do something like this, I don't wanna leave them there either."

Xiao then stopped looking back, then followed Childe and Scaramouche as they ran.

Childe led the rest of the way. He found Hu Tao on the 33rd floor, then Childe led everyone back to the 1st floor. There was no way that they could continue this without you, they had to abandon all their hard work.

Scaramouche

"Childe, you don't even know how to drive a car!"

Childe

"I sat in the front seat and watched Y/N, I think we'll be fine!"

Childe then drove everyone back to the apartment, the car ride was completely silent after witnessing such an unbelievable event. Hu Tao was told that you were no longer with them, she didn't know what to do. All of them didn't know what to do, now that you were gone.

Everyone made it back to the room, but... You.

They couldn't believe it. Zhongli, a man who Childe, Hu Tao, and Xiao were close with, had bitten the one person who was so desperate to bring those of Teyvat back home. They were actually the only person who they could depend on.
