You could hear abrupt grunting from afar. Not that kind of grunting you dirty-minded fuck /j. It sounded like some sort of combat noise. You were quite bored and sat up against a random wall that seemed like it was about to fall. So you got up and went to see what was going on.

Man 1

"Look at him! The fuck are you even wearing?!"

You were hiding behind some frail crates, watching the situation.

You lived in a really unsafe neighbourhood. Sure, there were portions of the location where you lived that were a little brighter and safer, but you prefer not to be so direct.

Man 2

"What is a guy like him even doing down here anyway?!"

???

"Please, don't touch me. I was just trying to-"

Man 3

"Who do you think you are, thinking that you can just roam around in my streets?!"

You

"Your streets?..."

You quickly interrupted.

Man 4

"Go away, this is none of your business."

You

"Oh, I do think it's my business."

Man 3

"Hey, stop it... That's Y/N."

Man 3 muttered to his underlings.

Man 1

"So? What do I care?! Just because they're well known here doesn't mean that I have to treat them like they're some God!"

Man 3

"Shut that dumbass mouth of yours!"

Man 2

"You... You really shouldn't be saying that y'know?! Are you on drugs?!"

You

"If you let this guy go, then I'll do the same for you guys."

Man 1

"I'm fucking sick and tired of everybody always going, "Oh! Y/N! That's Y/N!" God! Why don't you just shut the fuck up for once?!"

Man 3

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!"

You

"You, pull out your weapon."

You told the boy, pulling out your own weapon.

???

"I... I don't have one."

You

"You don't have a... *Sigh* What are you doing here without one?!"

???

"I'm not fr-"

Man 1 started going right after you and the boy, you simply just had to bash his head a few times with your elbow.

The others ran away in pure fear, the boy wanting to chase after them.

You

"Don't, they won't be coming back to harm you ever again. Ahem, you were saying?"

???

"Huh?..."

You

"You were about to say something, but that man didn't let you finish. What were you going to say?"

???

"Oh! Right- Uhm... I'm actually not from here."

You

"So you're from above?"

???

"Wh-"

You

"Or are you from the exterior border?"

???

"Huh?"

He was completely clueless, not knowing what you were even talking about.

You

"Are you from the exterior? Based on what you're wearing, it would seem like it. But none of the soldiers actually wore something as complicated as that."

???

"So-Soldiers?... No, you don't get it, I'm..."

You

"You're..."

The boy was afraid that you wouldn't get a proper understanding of what he was trying to say. 

???

"I'm... Not from this world."

You

"What?"

???

"Ah, I called it! I knew that you wouldn't understand!"

You

"No, no, I understand!... I think?..."

???

"I come from a different world, but I've been travelling around to other worlds to find... Something."

You

"Oh. Cool!"

???

"I mean... I guess so?..."

You

"So... Do you plan on going back home or..."

???

"I'm going to explore this world a bit more, but I'll be going back and forth through certain dimensions."

You

"I think I get it... Hey, I've actually never really believed in other dimensions. Do you think you could show me?"

The boy just simply opened up some random ass portal that came out of nowhere, it looked greenish and purplish. 

You

"Oh. Wasn't... Expecting that. Hey, it's actually quite dangerous walking alone out here in the underground... It would be best if you stick around with me for a while, especially since we're both aware that you have no idea how to use a weapon. Could I get your name?"

???

"Hey, I'm actually trained in using swords! And it's Aether. Or as other people call me in a different dimension, Teyvat, the traveller."

You

"Aether?... Heh, cool name."

Aether

"Thanks."

You

"So, tell me more about this Teyvat."

Aether went on and on about visions and Teyvat's armament. He also revealed how, when he entered your reality, his vision faded and he lost his ability to wield elemental energy. Along with his weapon, he also dropped a lot of strength. When he returned to Teyvat, though, his vision was restored, and he was able to use elemental energy once more. He was able to draw his sword again, and his strength was restored.

You guided Aether through your planet, exhibiting him all of its various aspects. The Underground, where everything was nearly broken down and strewn about. The Upper City, which you seem to refer to as "above" in your terminology. The Exterior Border, where the majority of guards are stationed. Their mission is to eradicate any evil that may have infiltrated your area.

You couldn't uncover any signs that would lead Aether closer to whatever he was looking for, no matter where you went. He'd live out his days at Teyvat during the bright hours. He would spend more time with you in the evenings and nights, delving into your dimension.

You were glad that you actually had something to do than sit up against broken-down walls.

The two of you grew very close over the past few months, both of you informing each other more and more about the way you worked in your dimensions over time.

You were waiting at the frail crates, the spot where Aether's portal would usually open up. And it did, as normally as it should. 

You

"Hey, we haven't checked this school, have we?"

Aether

"Uh... I don't think so?..."

You

"Ah, we'd probably have to dress up as students to get in there."

Aether

"Students?..."

You

"Yeah. Notice how all of them look so young and wear the exact same thing?"

Aether

"Mhm?"

You

"That's what we gotta do."

Aether

"Why can't we just go in looking like ourselves?"

You

"... Because we'll be suspicious, dumbass!"

Aether

"Ah, ah, I get it, I get it. Where do we get those kinds of clothes though?"

You

"That's what I've been thinking about."

From afar, you heard a bunch of running footsteps coming your way. It was as if the whole ass building was shaking. 

Aether

"Earthquake!... Is it an earthquake?..."

You

"No... Earthquakes don't happen where we are..."

Aether

"Even though earthquakes aren't likely here it still doesn't mea-"

You weren't listening to Aether as he rambled on about earthquakes, the shaking getting closer as you were slowly moving toward the school.

Aether

"It could be the middle of nowhere, and- Hey, are you even listening? You're gonna get us caught!"

You

"Oh, I'm gonna get us caught? Who's the one who's yelling about earth qua-"

You came out of the hiding spot, and from behind, a student ran past you and bumped your shoulder. You got all worked up about it and were about to chase them down.

"Hey! What th-"
