Monami smiled wide and Karan smiled even wider seeing the two most important people of his life, together and smiling. Karan's eyes got filled remembering the days when he used to be alone and crave for his Beeji's lap. But today, God has blessed him with everything he desired at the time when he was completely lonely. Every time he used to have a thought of again going to his pind, the angry face of his Darji used to pull him out of his thoughts. But not anymore, now he can be with his Beeji whenever he wants and as a cherry on the top of the situation, Beeji also accepted Monami. Now there's nothing more Karan desires for, he's finally with his loved people!

It was already dawn but Monami, Karan and Sanjot had no clue of it as they were in their own happy world of memories and endless talks. Karan and Monami were telling each and every detail of their life and Sanjot and Karan were relishing some of their bitter-sweet memories.

Monami (excitedly) - Beeji, Karan ke bachpan ke baare mein kuchh bataiye na...

Sanjot (with the same excitement) - Monami puttar, main tujhe ek vaddi changgi baat batati hoon! Ek baar na Karan aur Rana khet vich vo tube well honde si na...

Sanjot was about to continue when Karan hurriedly sat straight out of her lap and with embarrassment and fear clearly seen on his face.

Karan - B..Beeji, aap bhi kya faltu ki purani baaton mein lag gaye...hehe..haina? A..aap..aap..aa..

Karan's heartbeats increased abruptly in the fear of getting disclosed in front of Monami which surprised both the ladies. The moment Sanjot said 'tube well', he remembered the very same incident she was talking about. Although its memory is filled with nostalgia and masti but no man would like to get embarrassed in front of his girlfriend that too by his own grandmother.

Sanjot - Oye chup! Batane de mainu! (To Monami) Haan to main kaha thi?

Monami (excitedly) - Tube well!

Sanjot - Haan haan, tube well! Sardarji ik vaar Karan aur Rane (Randeep) nu apne saath khet vich le gaye. Vo zara do ghadi kisi se baat karne lage aur itne mein hi Karan aur Rane ki ladai shuru ho gayi ki tractor pe Sardarji ki god mein kaun baithega. 'Main! Main' karke dono bhaiyon ki ladai shuru ho gayi!

Monami - Fir? Fir kya hua?

Karan (in mind) - Apne mohalle mein Aishwarya nahi aayi thi jo 'fir, fir kya hua?' puchh rahi hain ye madam! Yaarr...Karan bhaagle yaha se, 2 minute mein Monami ke saamne izzat ka kachra hone wala hai!

Sanjot - Fir kya..shuru dono bhaiyon ki dangal! Kabhi Karan Rana nu kheeche, to kabhi Rana Karan nu. Itne mein hi dono bhaiyon ka pair fisla aur gaye dono keechad vich aur girne pe rakshaso ki tarah hasne lage! 10 minute baad jab Sardarji aaye to unhone dekha dono bhai tube well ke pani mein naha rahe hain...bina kapdo ke, pure pind walo ke saamne!

Sanjot completed her story telling with facing great difficulty in controlling her laughter, remembering that incident. Monami's eyes widened, and lips turned into an 'O' shape. She looked at Karan and her lips then curved into a smile. In a span of seconds, the laughter echoed in the hotel room as Monami started laughing uncontrollably imagining that exact scene. Karan had shut his eyes tightly and by now his whole face turned red with embarrassment. While laughing and coughing in between, Monami sat beside Karan while he glared at her sharply. She somehow controlled her laughter but still her chuckling didn't stop.

Monami (pinching his cheek) - Awwlee..Khaloos Shelgill! Sooo cuteeee! Baby ko tube well ke neeche nahana hai?!

Karan literally huffed like a baby and was about to take a sweet revenge of it from Monami immediately, but she tightened her hold on his cheek and pinched both his cheeks harder. Witnessing such PDA right in front her eyes were something unusual for Sanjot and she fake coughed to make MoRan realize that they aren't alone. Monami immediately took her hand back and Karan too started looking here and there. Sanjot smile teasingly and both of them started blushing and avoided making any eye-contact with her. Though Sanjot chuckled and made them slightly embarrassed, but she was very happy for her grandson. She knows how much hurt he would've felt when his Darji threw him out of his house. Sanjot kept her hands on both Monami & Karan's heads and just wished for their forever happiness and togetherness.

Sanjot - Bus puttar, tum dono humesha aise hi haste-khelte pyaar se raho. (To Karan) Aur tu, meri hone wali nooh (bahu) ko sataya to fer dekhiyo...pind di sherni hain teri Beeji!

Monami slightly blushed and lowered her head with a shy smile while Karan too smiled as Sanjot mentioned Monami as her 'nooh'. Sanjot stood up from the bed, making Karan & Monami surprised and confused.

Karan (surprised) - Beeji, kidhar?

Sanjot - Puttar, badi der ho gayi hai, andhera vi ho gaya hai. Ab mainu ghar jaana chahiye..tere Darji raah vekh rahe honge meri.

Monami - Beeji, aap thodi der aur nahi ruk sakte kya? Please thodi der ruk jao!

Beeji - Dekh puttar, aise na kar. Main yaha ruki aur Sardarji ko pata chala na ki main tum dono yaha pind mein ho aur main tum dono de kol hoon, fer ta meri khatiya khadi kardeni hai unhone.

Karan - Unhe logo pe bandish lagane ke alawa aata kya hai, Beeji? Chhodo na aap tension, ruk jao yahi aaj.

Beeji (caressing Karan's cheek) - Puttar, main teri gal samajhti hoon lekin abhi mainu jaane de! Achha, tum dono yaha pind mein kab-tak ho?

Monami and Karan both looked at each other and decided not to tell Sanjot about the threat of blast in Hoshiyarpur and scare her more.

Monami (while thinking) - Lag jaega Beeji..1-2 hafta!

Sanjot's lips curved into a delightful bright smile listening to what Monami said. The excitement in her eyes made Karan also pass a short smile.

Sanjot - Changa fir! Kal tum dono yahi ho na? (Karan nodded) To fir main kal aaungi aur tum dono mere saath chaloge.

Both Monami & Karan nodded to Sanjot's idea looking at the excitement and happiness level on her face. After some more talks, Sanjot left alone even after Karan's constant initiation of dropping her to home.

When Sanjot finally reached her home and Karan got a call from her, he was finally relieved and immediately hugged Monami tightly. Again and again, he was just tightening his hold on Monami and was snuggling into her chest. Monami smiled at him and caressed his hair softly.

Monami - Kya hua mere Khadoos Shergill ko?

Karan - Aaj itne saalon baad Beeji se milkar bahot achha laga. Saalon baad vo maa ki god ka sukoon mila! (Innocently) Monami, mujhse meri khushiyan chhin to nahi jaengi na? Main jab bhi khush hota hoon, kuchh aisa zaroor ho jata hai jo aur dukh deta hai. Kahi tum aur Beeji mujhse dur to nahi jaoge na? I can't afford to lose you both.

Monami sighed as she understood that Karan is just being insecure due to his past and also his heart is overwhelmed after meeting Sanjot today. She just pulled him out of her embrace and made him look into her eyes.

Monami - Karan, ab main tumhari khushiyon par koi nazar nahi lagne dungi, I promise! Tumhe tumhare hisse ki saari khushiyan milengi aur tumhare parivaar ka saath bhi, don't worry. Waheguru ji sab theek kardenge!

Karan looked at Monami with complete adoration as he never ever imagined that there could be someone who'll be there for him always and would never judge him by his tears.

On the other side, at Shergill's haveli, everyone had their dinner and NimDeep went to their room while Sanjot and Dilpreet were on the terrace, enjoying the cold night breeze after a good dinner. Dilpreet was leaning on the boundary of the terrace and was enjoying the night view of his pind. The dimly lighted houses, lots of hustle-bustle of children playing and the top-notch whether. Sanjot got some confidence after looking at Dilpreet's face that seemed unusually relieved and happy. Sanjot came ahead and kept her hand on her husband's shoulder, gaining his attention.

Sanjot - Sardarji, ki hoya? Aaj tussi vadde khush lag rahe ho?

Dilpreet (teasing her) - Oye Sanjotte, tu ni chahti main khush rahu? Chal dukhi ho jata hoon fer!

Sanjot (frowning) - Haaye haaye Sardarji! Kedi gal karde ho? Dukhi ho aapke dushman!

Dilpreet chuckled a bit and turned completely towards Sanjot and held her by her shoulders and pinched her cheeks slightly, to which she just widened her eyes and blushed.

Dilpreet - Oye Sardarni, main to mazaak karreya si! Bus pata ni kyu, aisa lag raha hai jaise barso se khoya sukoon mil gaya ho.

Sanjot smiled wide as she was very well aware of the reason behind Dilpreet's relieved anxiety and joyous mood. Thinking of it as a good chance, she decided to ask out the question that was poking her mind since she has returned after meeting Karan and Monami.

Sanjot - Achha Sardarji, mainu ek gal dasso. Agar kisi din tuadda puttar, tuadde jigar da tukda, tuadda Karan vapis pind aa gaya to tussi use gale se lagaoge na? Pyaar karoge na apne putt nu?

Sanjot questioned Dilpreet with a hope in her heart that he might accept Karan's return and forgive him as she knows that he is also yearning to see the true reflection of his son in Karan. Before Karan & Dilpreet's conflict, the whole village knew how much Dilpreet loves Karan & he has been an apple of Dilpreet's eyes. But little did Sanjot know, she scratched Dilpreet's wound and evoked his anger. Dilpreet turned towards Sanjot, and she instantly got frightened looking at his aggressive look. His eyes turned red, his nostrils flared, and body shook with anger.

Deed teri bus ek paane ko,
Tarse tera desh re...

Dilpreet (showing his finger) - Oye Sanjotte, uss dhokebaaz, gaddar ka naam na lena tu mere kol! Aaj to le liya, aage nahi. Kyu aayega vo dhokhebaaz apni shehri zindagi chhodkar saadde pind vich?! Sher da putt hai to iss pind mein kadam rakhke dikhade, uske totte-totte (tukde-tukde) na kardiye to main bhi o de piyo da piyo nahi!

Channa ve...ghar aaja
Kyu bhaye pardes re?!

Roaring his thoughts on Sanjot's face and making her flinch, Dilpreet left leaving Sanjot teary-eyed. She was feeling terribly bad, not because Dilpreet shouted on her but because of what he said about her beloved grandson. Sanjot wiped her flowing tears harshly and smiled sarcastically.

Sanjot (to herself) - Sardarji, hai to vo tuadda hi khoon. Pind vich hai vo, tuadde hoshiyarpur vich aur tussi kuchh ni kar sakte. Mainnu pata hai tuadde kadve karele jaisi baaton ke andar halwe di mithhas chhupi hai. Jab tussi apne puttar nu dekhoge, to aap vi apne pyaar ko chhupa ni sakoge! Pata hai mainnu!

Hoo...pind ki tarsi ye galiyaan
Dhunde tera nishaan
Ho...jinddi ye sunni laage
Das de tu hai kahan...

Sanjot went to her room as it was already very past her bedtime and also, she has to prepare a lot of things for tomorrow. Sanjot thought that she said these words to herself but to her dismay, someone heard her.

The next day, the sunrise was very special for Sanjot. With a happy and excited smile, she did all her household morning chores and some special works as well. With a bright smile, she bid adieu to Dilpreet who had to go to the Panchayat and also with the help of Nimrit, prepared the breakfast. Nimrit started giving breakfast to Randeep who was sitting on the dining table. Both of them were surprised and somewhat irked seeing Sanjot so happy and cheerful after so long.

Rana - Beeji, tussi kitthe jaa rahe ho kya?

Sanjot, who couldn't hide her wide smile, just turned around in order to not to utter something which shouldn't be said to Randeep and just shook her head. After a few minutes, Paraminder came, and both the best friends left to somewhere. And here at Shergill haveli, Nimrit and Randeep were confused at Sanjot's changed nature.

Rana - Nimrit, tujhe Beeji kuchh badli-badli nahi lag rahi?

Nimrit (whispering) - Rana, aapko pata nahi hai ki ho kya raha hai pind mein. (Sarcastically) Aapke 'pyaare Karan bhaisaab' na lautkar aa gaye hain. Beeji unhi se milne jaa rahi hain!

Rana - Oye Nimrit, tu kuchh vi sochdi hai. Aisa hota to pind vich halla pay jaana tha!

Saying so and ignoring Nimrit's words, Rana too left for his work and Nimrit kept burning her heart. She decides to follow Sanjot and see where she goes. While hiding and saving herself from getting caught, Nimrit follows Sanjot & Parminder to MoRan's hotel. While Sanjot and Parminder went in, Nimrit stood out gasping in surprise.

Nimrit (keeping her hand on her mouth) - O babaji! Inna vadda hotel, yaha kisse milne aayi hongi Beeji?

Nimrit too went in and saw Sanjot & Parminder entering inside a room. The door of the room was left open a little bit and Nimrit decided to peep in and keep an eye on what all will be happening here. To Nimrit's deep shock, it was Karan and Monami touching Sanjot's and then Parminder's feet and seeking their blessings.

Nimrit (in mind) - Haaaa...ye to Kar...Karan bhaisaab hain! Beeji ne inni vaddi gal chhupayi sabse?! Aur ye Ms. NRI jaisi dikhne wali ladki..pata nahi kaun hai!

Inside the room, Karan sat on the bed near Parminder and was getting his mouth stuffed with the delicious ghee wale ladoo which Parminder specially prepared for him.

Param aunty - Oye kudiye, tuaddi academy vich kuchh khaane ko na milta? (To Sanjot) Dekho Sanju behenji, kitna dubla ho gaya hai sadda puttar!

Karan & Monami shared a look and then chuckled as both Sanjot & Parminder carressed Karan's hair being extremely worried for him and his health.

Monami - Koi nahi auntyji, ab yaha aapke paas hai na Karan. Ab aap khila-pilakar healthy bana dena!

Param aunty - Ae ta changgi gal kitti!

Karan (being slightly offended) - Haan aur mere itne saalon ki mehnat se banaye hue abs ko dhakel dena pani mein, haina?

Sanjot, Param aunty & Monami (in obvious tone) - Haan!

The trio of ladies had a good laugh while Karan just pouted being innocent around his favorite women who care and love him immensely. The four were having their own good time when Karan felt a weird commotion on the door. Actually, Nimrit was leaving from there in order to inform Dilpreet about what all is going on behind his back. But mistakenly, her foot hit a vase and the vase fell down. Sensing Karan's doubt, all four of them came out of the room only to see Nimrit hissing while hopping and holding her foot.

Karan - Excuse me, aap kaun hain?

Sanjot (surprised) - Nimrit! Tu ithhe ki kar rahi hai?

Param aunty - Kahi tu humare peechha to nahi kar rahi si?

Nimrit - Oh na na auntyji, kya keh rahe ho?! Main aur aap dono ka peecha, na na..kadi vi na! Vo..vo to meri ek saheli aayi hui hai pind vich aur isi..isi hotel mein ruki hui hai. Main to usse milne ke baad yaha se jaa rahi thi aur mera pair iss gamle (vase) se takra gaya.

Sanjot and Parminder nodded still being unsatisfied by Nimrit's answer. Karan and Monami noticed that Sanjot and Parminder are taking very casually to Nimrit which concludes that they both know each other from before.

Monami - Beeji, aap jaante hain inhe?

Nimrit (hugging Sanjot) - O kyu na jaanengi meri pyaari Beeji mujhe? Apne pote se byahkar (shaadi karvakar) lekar aayi thi mujhe. Favourite bahu bhi to hoon main Beeji ki! Haina Beeji?

Karan became alert the moment he got to know that Beeji got her grandson married which means his little brother, Rana is married. Karan's happiness knew no bounds and his eyes turned moist. He looked towards Sanjot and found her smiling at him that confirmed his doubt.

Karan - B..Beeji, ye..ye mere Rane ki..?

Sanjot - Haan puttar, ye Nimrit saadde Rane di voddi (wife) hai.

Karan smiled widely but upon realising something, his smile instantly fell and the eyes that were containing happiness till now, turned gloomy.

Rasta dekhe munder ve
Tu baitha muh pher ke...
Kiske sang bol ve,
Main karaan...

Karan - Daarji ne ek baar bhi mujhe mere chhote bhai ki shaadi mein bulane ka nahi socha? Itna paraya ho gaya main ki mujhse mere bhai ki shaadi dekhne ka sapna bhi cheen liya gaya?!

Dil Diyaan Gallan...

Param aunty - Na na puttar, ae gal na hai. Tu galat samajh raha hai. Jab Rana ki shaadi hui, tab kisi ko tere thikane ka ata-pata nahi tha. Maaf karde puttar!

Karan - Nahi nahi auntyji, aap kyu maafi maang rahe ho? Isme aapki koi galti nahi hai, bus haalat hi aise hain!

Nimrit (in mind) - Achha hai ye humari shaadi mein nahi thhe varna to bus inhi ko puchha jaata aur mere Rana ko humesha ki tarah side character bana ke chhod dete!

Hooo...
Dil Diyaan Gallan!

Karan plastered a small smile on his face to hide his pain but Monami could feel what he must be going through and felt bad for him. Karan moved ahead towards Nimrit and smiled wide at her as if greeting her. She too nodded her head slightly with a forced smile and greeted him back.

Param aunty - Nimrit puttar, ab to tera competition aa gaya hai?

Sanjot - Keda competition, Param?

Param - Arre Sanju behenji, ab to Karan wali bhi aa gayi hai, ab to aapki favourite bahu badal sakti hai, nahi?

All took Parminder's words casually but here Nimrit was irked. She clenched her dupatta tightly in her fist as she can't see anyone other than her getting love and affection from the family.

Monami being courteous, went ahead to Nimrit. Now they are going to be a one big happy family soon, so greetings and introductions are necessary and with this intention, Monami extended her hand towards Nimrit for an introductory handshake.

Monami (extending her hand):- Hi, I'm Monami!

Nimrit (doing namaste) - Ji sasriyakaal! Sadde Punjab vich na ye 'hi-shi' nahi chalta. Assi to aise hi hello karte hain!

In the first meet itself, Karan found Nimrit a bit rude but thought it to let go as he has to do nothing with her and he's here only for some days. But that's according to him because Monami has a full plan of reuniting everyone and she knows that she has to start it from the moment itself.

Monami smiled and did Sasriyakaal to Nimrit. Sanjot & Parminder smiled wide seeing how Monami is trying to adapt to Punjabi cultures and their hope of reuniting the Shergill family are getting fuelled by it.

Nimrit - Umm..vaise aap Karan bhaisaab ki votti ho?

Sanjot - Na na, vo...

Sanjot was about to answer as Karan & Monami's cheeks heated up as Nimrit questioned Monami being Karan's wife. Before Sanjot could clarify, Nimrit interrupted.

Nimrit - Main to sirf isliye puchh rahi thi Beeji ki na maang mein sindoor, na gale mein mangalsutra aur na haathon mein chudiyan. Karan bhaisaab ne kuchh dilaya nahi kya?

Karan was about to say something to Nimrit in Monami's defence but Monami stopped him by holding his arm as she was scared that he might end up scolding Nimrit for the way she talked to her.

Monami - Nimrit, aap galat samajh rahi hain. Main Karan ki wife nahi hoon, abhi to hum bus relationship mein hain. Mera pura naam Dr. Monami Mahajan hai!

Param aunty (teasing MoRan) - Jaldi aage 'Shergill' bhi lag jaega!

Karan and Monami smiled and blushed at the darkest shade of red due to Sanjot & Parminder's teasing. Nimrit stood gasped with an open mouth when she got to know that MoRan aren't married yet and also that Monami is a doctor.

Nimrit (in mind) - Karan bhaisaab to bade tez nikle! Pind se kya nikala Daarji ne, inhone to achhi-bhali doctor bhi patali. Arre patayi thi to apne shehar mein rakhte na, yaha pind vich vapas kyu aaye hain? Ek minute, ek minute! Kahi Daarji ki badi si zameen ke lalach mein to nahi...na na, main inhe zameen ka ek inch na lene du.

Nimrit was about to enquire more to Sanjot about Karan & Monami when she saw how affectionately Beeji was caressing Monami's hair and how Karan was adoring her smiling face.

Nimrit (in mind) - Bhaisaab to pure lattu hue pade hain iss NRI jaisi doctor pe! Abhi kuchh nahi bolti main, dekhti hoon ki ye yaha aaye kyu hain aur Beeji inse milne kis khushi mein aayi hain! Saara raula meri zindagi vich hi kyu aata hai, kyu vapis aaye hain ye shehri log?!

I was thinking to add the main scene (which I'm thinking) also here but then the part was being too long so I thought to keep it short and sweet. Introduction of Nimrit is also done in this part, so do lemme know how I should show her more wickedness. 😉
Maine socha hai ab jab bhi mujhe DDG ke liye koi song nahi sujhega, to I'll add the ost to give the feel of the emotions. Show wale bhi to yahi karte hain😜
