At the farmhouse, now everyone from PSAF had woken up and were giggling and laughing while drinking their coffees and teas. Amidst the joy-filled people, sat two souls who were just smiling for the sake of their friends, and something was noticeably off.

Chitra - #Monami, if you #don't mind, #can I ask #you something?

Monami - Haan haan Chitra, feel free to ask.

Chitra - #Tumhare aur #Karan sir mein..koi #argument hua hai?!

Monami was surprised at the sudden concern filled question from Chitra. Everyone's gaze was now rested only on Karan and Monami as not only Chitra, but everyone noticed that there's something for sure which is the reason of the distress that's being reflected from their faces.

Karan (sipping his coffee) - Don't worry Chitra, we're good!

Monami - Yes, aur agar mere aur Karan ke beech kuchh jhagda hua bhi hoga, to vo sorry bol dega. Nahi Khadoos Shergill?!

While everyone laughed hilariously at the obvious statement of Monami, Karan just lowered his head in pure joy of being defeated from his love.

Monami too smiled warmly, sighing in relief that she was able to draw everyone's attention to the other topic and not making them scratch Karan's already burnt wounds.

While the usual chatting and gossiping about everyone's respective PSAF branches and works continued, Sid wasn't still convinced that everything's fine.

He knows his bro very well and her crossed fingers didn't go unnoticed when she assured everyone that everything's fine and decided to ask at the right time.

On the other side, in front of the Shergill haveli, Kushwant didn't stop making a fuss and refused from accepting the cheque and Sanjot's jewelry.

Kushwant - Na na chachiji, ab to ye haveli bik gayi..vo bhi 3 crore mein. 2 crore ka cheque to theek hain lekin tuadde gehne to 50 lakh ke bhi nahi honge. Tuadde kol kal tak ka samay hai..khaali kardo meri haveli! Kal subah mere client aayenge ise dekhne.

Announcing so and ignoring every warning from Dilpreet and Harmanpreet and those plea filled eyes of Sanjot's that didn't realize when tears of defeat started flowing out, Kushwant drove away alone with his men—leaving behind a broken family.

Rana fell on his knees as they got so weak due to intense torture his heart is bearing right now. The house where he was born, his 'praa', Karan was born, the house where they lived the best time of their childhood and the house that has seen their laughs, their tears and even them being punished, is going to be snatched from him forever.

Dilpreet and Sanjot had closed their eyes, leaning onto each other, providing each other with the much needed support while the happenings were eating them from inside.

Sanjot's hands that held the jewelery and the cheque shivered and she immediately rushed inside, being followed by Nimirt and Parminder.

Parminder - Sanju behenji, na na..

Parminder followed Sanjot, who had now bursted into tears and held her shoulders and made her sit on the bed. Sanjot leaned onto her friend's shoulder, trembling and crying profusely.

Parminder was speechless seeing Sanjot's tears. She's the woman who has always been strong and held her loved ones together, as much as she could. And now seeing the iron pillar of the house breaking down, is a disbelief itself.

Nimrit - Na ro Beeji..sab theek ho jayega!

Sanjot - Kaise? Bata na kaise?!

Nimrit was a bit taken aback as the question barked on her by Nimrit. Sanjot had snapped her eyes towards Nimrit being surprised by the words she had used to calm her down. "Sab theek ho jayega", really?!

Nimrit (quiet nervously) - Uh..B-Beeji, v-vo..tussi itni chinta na karo. Mainnu pata hai, ki ab hum sab be-beghar hone wale hain. Lekin mere paas ek raasta hai!

Dilpreet - Zara mainu vi dus, ki raasta hai tere paas.

A rough, almost defeated voice came, and as Nimrit turned to see, it was Dilpreet along with Harmanpreet and Rana, who heard her consoling voice when they came to check upon Sanjot. Dilpreet was hell worried for his Sanjot and now the idea which Nimrit has, had made him more concerned about his whole family and the coming happenings.

Nimrit (trying to sound vulnerable) - Uh..Daarji, vo ab humare sar par chhat to rahegi nahi, to kyu na hum sab..mere mayke chale?

This suggestion of Nimrit stirred something in everyone, especially Dilpreet. His male ego would never allow him to stay at his daughter in-law's maiden house and that too, to seek shelter.

He's been to her home, but always as Nimrit's parents' daughter's in-laws but never as someone who is vulnerable after failing in saving and protecting their home and are wandering to seek shelter.

Dilpreet's eyes stayed lowered, not being able to look into his family's eyes as now, he's feeling like the most lost man who has now has nothing.

Sanjot and Rana gave a thought at Nimrit's suggestion and seeing them lost in their own thoughts, Nimrit was getting internally satisfied as now she'd show her mercy on these 'homeless' people.

Nimrit (in mind) - Bus ek baar Daarji haan to bole mere mayke rehne ke liye..fir main bataungi ki main aur Rana kya hain! Humesha se unko kuchh nahi samjha aur ab Rana ke sasural mein rahenge to unke ehsaan tale dabna hi padega!

Thinking about the consequences, Nimrit was internally smirking while Dilpreet was silent—but that silence screamed.

He's been a man of self-respect, which he lowers for none. But today, he and his family are almost homeless and that too, helplessly and the only way to seek shelter for a few days and to avoid wandering—is to accept help from Nimrit and request her parents to favor the Shergills with a stay at their house for 2-3 days, till they figure out some other way.

Before Dilpreet could lift his shamefully lowered eyes, Harmanpreet spoke up, being followed by Sanjot.

Harmanpreet - Nimrit puttar sahi keh rahi hai, Preeto.

Sanjot - Haan Sardaarji, sadde kol ab aur koi raasta nahi raha hai. Aur Nimrit de maa-baap vi to humare hi rishtedaar hue na..mushkil ke samay to apne hi kaam aate hain na!

The desperation in Sanjot's voice to convince Dilpreet to somehow take Nimrit's parents' help was so evident because she just wanted to save her family from the humiliation of being homeless.

Parminder - Bhaisahab, tussi sadde ghar vi to reh sakde ho. Vo vi to tuadda hi ghar hai!

Rana (immediately) - Na na chachi, aithhe rahenge to logo ne baatein bana-banakar khilli udaani hai saaddi. Jitne kam logo nu pata lage..utna changga!

Nimrit smiled a bit as Rana was finally taking her side, although without knowing the full plan but finally he talked with some sense in his words.

Rana was actually right and having no other way to go, Dilpreet nodded on the idea of taking Nimrit's parents' help but  his agreement lacked conviction—which was noticed by none, except Rana.

It had been hours since the Shergills have been declared homeless by Kushwant. On one side, he's having a good celebration with his men while on the other side, the Shergill haveli is pitch silent.

Sanjot's gigglish laughter, Dilpreet's stern commands, Rana's PJs and the sound of Nimrit's bangles—at the moment, all were missing and to Dilpreet, today his home itself felt suffocating.

From the floor above, he saw how his Sanjot was packing each and every belonging that belonged to them with utmost care and was wiping the slight dust with the end of her dupatta.

She had tears in her eyes, which were completely contrast to the happy tears she had when she was decorating the same house with the same belongings.

Dilpreet felt someone's presence beside him but didn't look to his side but knew it was his younger grandson Rana.

Rana - Haveli chhodne ka dil nahi hai na, Daarji?

Dilpreet - Oye khotte, kaunsa beta apne mann se apni maa ko chhodkar jaata hai?!

Rana's lip curled up from the side sadly as he realised that not only him but his Darji too is too attached to this structure of concrete which he built and his Sanjotte transformed into a home.

Rana - Daarji, main soch reya si ki ok vaari Kushwant se baat kar kar dekhu? Kya pata..maan jaaye!

Dilpreet (chuckling sadly) - Rabb da banda nahi hai vo! Saddi kismat mein shayad khudke ghar se beghar hona hi likha hai!

Still smiling sadly at his unfortunate fate, Dilpreet walked away to his room, to help his Sanjot to pack things—in the same manner, in which he helped her in arranging them.

Rana sighed, helplessly and he too walked off, cursing every ounce of his existence as today, being a young earning man, he cannot save his family from going homeless.

While in the pind, the condition of no one—neither in the haveli nor in the farmhouse, was good enough to be happy.

But somewhere in Mumbai, a man was driving towards Amritsar in his very luxurious car with an intention to change a lot, for a lot.

The PSAF squad in the farmhouse were nudging behind Karan to show them his pind, his land, where he has grown up, from where he has come out to achieve something.

Sid - Come on Karan s-bro, chalo na..let's explore your land!

Bala - Hanji sirji, chalo na..chalte hain! Apun bade mauj karenge!

One glare from Karan and the tapori-ness from Bala just blew away. In fear of the great stare, Bala stepped back but knew where to. He slowly slid behind Monami and now Karan's hard glare softened as she came in his view.

Karan (shaking his head in disbelief) - Tum sabne na..Monami ko mere khilaaf use karna shuru kar diya hai. Jab dekho usko beech mein le aate ho..aur main mana bhi nahi kar paata fir! Chalo!

Sid, Bala, Chitra and Koel laughed out loud while Faizi and Sanju just chuckled, knowing it's the utmost truth. While Monami stood there, blushing slightly at Karan's cutesy complaint.

In a few minutes, the whole squad was ready in their new outfits, while Sid was just utterly surprised to see Monami. Unlike before, a new maturity was being reflected from her face as she adorned herself in a beautiful yet simple suit—something Sid has rarely seen her wearing.

While all of them were proceeding towards the car they had rented and one of MoRan's jeep, Sid held back Monami by her elbow, only to question her about the specific and uncertain things he's been observing.

Monami - Ugh, kya kar raha hai Sid? You mad or what?!

Sid - I'm not mad, you are! Aakhir tujhe hua kya hai?! Jabse aaya hoon dekh raha hoon, na dhang se baat kar rahi hai, na hans rahi hai. Bus Karan bro aur teri kuchh personal eye talks chal rahi hain. Scene kya hai bro? Kahi..some good news..

Monami (smacking his head) - Tu na..sachme pagal ho gaya hai Sid! Jab dimaag hai nahi, to use bhi mat kar! It's nothing..it's just Karan's hometown to uski kuchh memories hain, which are just a bit disturbing to both of us. But don't worry, we'll get through it together! Ab jaldi kar, varna teri Miss Tod-Phod tujhe phod degi!

Both Sid and Monami chuckled, and everyone began to sit in the cars. Faizi, Koel, Bala and Chitra in the rented one, while Monami, Karan, Sid and Sanju in the jeep. Karan was driving, while Monami took the passenger seat beside him and Sid and Sanju chilled behind them, taking in the fresh cool breeze of the pind and the refreshing view of the swinging fields that danced to the tunes of the winds.

Karan intentionally didn't want to drive towards the Shergill haveli as now he has accepted, that he can never be theirs and ever since they've demanded him to leave Monami, he doesn't even want to be theirs.

But the fate has something else already planned. Due to some construction and field work going on, the main road to the market was not available and wasn't appropriate to drive on and sighing at the compulsion here, Karan turned the jeep and the other car too followed towards the road which will go by passing in front of the Shergill haveli.

Monami (in Karan's ear) - Kya hua? Yaha se kyu jaa rahe hain hum?

Karan said nothing and just sighed frustratedly as when he wanted to go and see his family, the destiny didn't but now, when he wants to be away from them and their lives, every road of destiny is taking him there. Monami understood and just kept her palm over his, that rested on the gear—a silent gesture but enough to tell that she's always there with him.

Karan (in mind) - Bhale hi haveli ke bahar se guzrunga, magar ek jhalak dekhunga bhi nahi. Bahot ho gaya, kab tak past se bandha rahunga! Mera bhi future hai, meri bhi family badhegi..I can't be tied to things.

Deciding so, Karan drove speedily just to lessen the sight of that haveli, but it seemed as if something is pulling him towards it—something unknown yet intentional.

Dilpreet, Sanjot, Rana and Nimrit, with the help of Parminder and Harmanpreet, have packed all their essentials in many many suitcases and dragging them, brough the luggage outside, to leave for Nimrit's maiden house.

Eyes empty, face pale and body language vulnerable—they wanted to stay & never leave the house that protected them and their generations like a mother.

But maybe God didn't approve of their plan and so, being forced by the games of fate, it was finally the time to leave the haveli, who's each brick is laid with love and held together by their unity.

Don't know how but the monster named Kushwant too reached there, with a wide evil grin.

His face reflected the satisfaction of making Dilpreet finally so vulnerable that he lost his everything. First his grandson, Karan to army and now his whole house has been snatched away from Dilpreet, and this is giving some solid internal satisfaction to Kushwant.

Kushwant (smirking) - Arre arre, chal di puri Shergillaan di fauj! Vadhiya vadhiya..lekin kithho jaa rahe si? Kisi rishtedar te, te kisi dost te?

He laughed, without humour as except his men, none found anything funny in his words.

The Shergills didn't even care to pay a look at him as they were physically occupied in dragging out the luggage and emotionally very busy to cope up with the feeling of going homeless.

As they stood outside the haveli that's their everything. Their mother, their shelter, their provider and even their baby for whom they care and adorned with new things with every salary they earned.

While Sanjot, Dilpreet, Rana and Nimrit stood outside their haveli, whose gates were open right now but soon were going to be closed for them forever, Karan's jeep, followed by the other car, neared the haveli.

Monami - Karan, ye..yaha itni bheed kyu jama hai? Ye..ye vo Kushwant hai na?! Aur itna saara luggage...

Karan - Monami, main uss taraf dekhna bhi nahi chahta. I want to close this chapter!

Monami (sternly) - Karan, ye koi chapter nahi hai..ye tumhari zindagi ki kitaab ka ek bahot important hissa hai, jiske bina puri kitaab ka koi matlab nahi hai! Roko gaadi!

Monami's tone was filled with determination and concern and definitely, Karan couldn't deny and pressed the breaks so hard that Monami, Sid and Sanjana were almost about to be thrown forward, but thankfully Karan held Monami back in time.

Faizi, Koel, Bala and Chitra who were in the other car were hell confused about why Karan applied the breaks and so were Sid and Sanju, who were in the same jeep as Karan and Monami.

Koel - Faizi, Karan sir ne itne abruptly brake kyu lagaya?

Faizi - Allah hi maalik hai iska! Pata nahi hua kya hai ise..jabse yaha aaye hain, tabse pata nahi kuchh ajeeb hi behave kar rahe hain ye janab. Chalo, utar kar dekhte hain.

Chitra - #Yes Faizi #sir!

Koel, Bala and Chitra agreed and all four of them got off the car being unknown of the reason and so did Karan, Monami, Sanju and Sid.

Bala - Doctor madam, ye to koi bazaar nahi lagta.

Monami - Ye bazaar hai bhi nahi Bala..ye Karan ka ghar hai.

Karan (immediately) - Correction..ghar tha!

This statement of correction from Karan made Monami sigh while the rest stood clueless. Although Faizi knew about his past but had never met or seen anyone from the pind, he too was confused and was trying to connect some dots.

Karan and Monami stepped ahead—although, Karan didn't wanted to but no matter how much he pretends to his own heart that now he doesn't care but the truth is never hidden. He does care, still!

Karan (whispering to Faizi) - Oye, zara jakar puchh to vaha ho kya raha hai.

Karan was very curious and concerned to know what the fiasco was about and as he and Monami were slightly away from the direct gaze of people, Faizi went ahead to enquire.

Faizi - Uh bhaisahab, ye yaha aakhir ho kya raha hai?

Faizi enquired to one of Kushwant's men and taking great pride, the man too blabbered everything.

Billu (Kushwant's man) - Oh paaji, aitthe to vadda siyappa ho reya si! Ae sadde Dilpreet chacha aur unka parivaar, ab beghar ho gaya..pata nahi ab kithhe jayenge guzare ke liye, shayad Gurudwara sahib hi inko thhehrale.

The man explained humourously but Faizi didn't even smiled at his words. When he took Dilpreet's name, Faizi's forehead straightened as the realisation sank in.

Faizi came back with shock clear on his face and now, his mind was contemplating how he would break this news to Karan.

Monami - Faizi, kuchh pata chala vaha kya ho raha hai?

Faizi - Daarji aur baaki sab haveli khaali kar kar jaa rahe hain!

A big lightening striked on Karan's heart. He already knew that that's what Kushwant wanted but now, as it's actually taking place, he's feeling as if his limbs are going weak.

He earns well, lives a good lifestyle and has the freedom to take his own decisions but today he can't do anything to save his family from going homeless and that thought alone was eating Karan from inside.

Without being able to control himself anymore, he ran immediately to where the Shergills were and Monami followed him while Faizi stayed back and gave the whole summary of Karan's past to the confused lot.

Karan (sternly) - Ye kya ho raha hai yaha par?!

As Sanjot saw Karan, her eyes softened with a little hope and she was about to rush to him when Dilpreet held her back.

But this time, she didn't care. She wanted to be with her grandson too, wanted him to be a part of the family without sacrificing anything and also, wanted to save her house—shrugging Dilpreet's hand, she ran to Karan without caring for anything.

Sanjot - Puttar, hum beghar ho gaye! Kushwant ne bechdi saddi haveli.

Sanjot cried the pain to Karan that made the creases on his forehead straighten as he realised what mountain like problem has been dropped on his family.

Monami - Kya? But cheque to de diya tha na..

Dilpreet (without looking at her) - O ji bada ehsaan hai tuadde cheque da, lekin Kushwant di party ne 3 crore mein khareed li saddi haveli. Fir bhi shukriya ji!

Dilpreet's sarcasm made Monami huff while Karan just stood their silent along with the rest and Nimrit just cursed their arrival in her mind.

Monami - But aise-kaise bechdi haveli?!

Kushwant (interrupting her) - Madam ji, mere paas haveli ke saare kagzaat hain..aur ab to contract sign ho chuka hai, tussi vi ab kuchh nahi kar sakte. Mere client pahunchte hi honge..aur ye sab yaha se nikalte hi honge!

Monami gritted her teeth at what Kushwant said with evilness dripping from his tone. She knew they can now do nothing and everyone's heart there was thumping every second.

Before Faizi could say anything and propose an adjustment to Kushwant, in speed a luxurious car that might be worth crores came rushing and stopped in front of the haveli.

The dirt that flew made everyone blind and squint their eyes. As the dirt eloped finally, everyone opened their eyes slowly only to find—Sid's dad, Avinash Ganju coming out of the car.

The PSAF people who knew who he is, were hell surprised upon his arrival as he's the person who was being least expected. Dilpreet, Sanjot, Nimrit and Rana were confused—not just by Avinash's arrival but also because someone was grinning.

Sid, Monami and Karan immediately rushed to him and before anything Avinash embraced Monami in a very fatherly hug. Wrapping his arms around her as if she's just 5, Avinash caressed her hair and kissed her forehead while his eyes were filled with dearness and longingness of seeing her.

Avinash (lovingly) - Kaisi hai meri bachi?

Before Monami could reply to Avinash, Karan went ahead and touched his feet and now Avinash embraced him too along with Monami. Sid who stood there, just rolled his eyes as Avinash's biological son was nowhere in his sight but Sid was really fine with it as he knows that Monami is like his first child to Avinash.

Karan - Hum bilkul theek hain uncle but aap yaha kaise?!

Avinash - Beta main yaha ek property ke silsile mein aaya hoon. Ek broker ne bataya kaafi purani haveli hai aur vo land bhi kaafi sturdy hai. Agar vahi haveli pasand aayi to vaisi hi rehne denge, nahi to use todkar ek badhiya sa bangla banayenge. What say Karan bro? Sahi plan hai na?

Karan just nodded and as Avinash met Sid and Sanju, he noticed how no one has that bright spark on their faces. Their dull faces and the absence of bubbliness on Monami's face gave him the hint that something is definitely wrong. But before he could enquire, Kushwant came ahead with a plastered smile on his face which was extremely contrasted to his earlier personality.

Kushwant - Arre sasriyakal Ganju sahab, aaiye aaiye! Tuadda bahot-bahot swagat hai sadde pind vich!

Welcoming him in the most sugar-coated tone he could fake, Kushwant extended his hand towards one of his men who immediately gave him a garland of flowers. Kushwant put the garland around Avinash's neck and welcomed him with joined hands.

Kushwant - Yaha aane mein koi takleef to naa hui sahab ji?

Avinash - Nahi nahi, takleef to kuchh nahi lekin Monami beta, tumne bataya nahi tum sab yaha kaise?

Monami - Uh uncle, bahot lambi kahani hai, baad mein batati hoon na.

Avinash just nodded reluctantly at Monami's proposal of describing the whole story later. Rana who couldn't control his curiosity, finally came ahead and asked.

Rana - Monami parjayi, tussi ek dusre nu jaande ho?

Monami - Hanji Rana bhaisahab, Avinash uncle Sid, I mean Siddharth, jo mere bachpan ka dost hai..uske dad hain. Bachpan se Sid se zyada pyaar diya hai unhone mujhe!

Rana nodded understanding the relation between the two but still was confused who the other people i.e., the paltan are. Before that poor soul could question further, Kushwant thought to accomplish that he has thought before anything worse happens.

Kushwant - Sahab ji, ye rahi ji tuaddi khareedi hui haveli! Changgi to lagi na tuannu?

Avinash stepped ahead and paid a look at the haveli that stood strong and represented the strength of the residents. But today, just like the people of the haveli, the aura of the haveli too seemed gloomy.

Dilpreet's eyes widened and teeth gritted as he realised that Avinash, who's a relative to Monami is the buyer of their haveli and the reason of them being homeless today.

Dilpreet - Achha ji..matlab tussi hi khareedne wale ho saddi haveli, hn?! Zaroor tuaddi ye Monami ne hi kaha hoga na aapse khareedne ke liye.

Sanjot (trying to stop him) - Tussi ki keh rahe ho, Sardarji?!

Dilpreet - Oh haan Sanjotte, tu vaddi bholi hai. Tu nahi samjhi iss kudi da khel! Iske aashiq ko bol diya tha na ise chhodne ko isliye badla le rahi hai ab!

Dilpreet scoffed as without thinking anything and acting due to his budding anger towards Kushwant and the past humiliation, all the collected feelings inside him, burst on Monami.

Sanjot and Rana were just too stunned to speak as they know, Monami would never do so but they can't explain this to Dilpreet any how.

While Kushwant and Nimrit just chuckled inaudibly at the accusation on Monami by Dilpreet, the PSAF squad couldn't believe whatever they heard. They don't know the whole story but they know that Monami can never ever think of harming anyone, let alone getting someone homeless.

Avinash's eyes widened, Sid's nostrils flared and Karan curled his fingers into a tight fist to stop himself from doing something he shouldn't.

Karan had enough now—till the things were about him, he was all mum but now the things have been about his Rani Sahiba and one word against her ignites a different fire inside him.

Karan - Shergill sahab, ab chahe aap ise vinti (request) maane ya dhamki, magar meri Monami ke khilaaf koi galat ilzaam nahi sununga main!

Seeing his hard eyes, the toughness on his face and the way his fists were clenched, no other word came out of Dilpreet's throat.

Sid - Exactly Mr. Turban bro, you better be careful without uttering any false word for my bro!

Karan and Sid silenced Dilpreet and the sterness in their tone made even Rana not being able to say anything in his Daarji's defence. He knew Dilpreet was extremely wrong in his place to attack Monami without any proof.

Avinash passed Kushwant who's personality completely turned all the way around and stood in front of Dilpreet but also brought Monami along with him.

Avinash - See Mr., main nahi jaanta aap hain kaun. Par jitna main samajh paa raha hoon usse to main samajh gaya ki meri bachi aapko kuchh khaas pasand hai nahi. Aur mujhe lagta hai ki iss haveli ka kuchh to bahot bada kissa hai. Vaise, I just wanted to announce this..Karan beta, Monami bache..ye haveli ab tumhara wedding gift hai meri taraf se!
