Nervousness is contagious.

I was literally shaking when Jaden approached me after chess club.

He came and stood really close to me, a distance so close and intimate. I did not know what he wanted to do but whatever it was, I was willing to do it.

I looked at him, literally shaking like he was some sort of fierce animal. I was really nervous being next to him.

The whole time I knew him, I was always nervous, but seeing him then felt different. The thought that he liked me back made me feel even more nervous.

He stared into my eyes without uttering a single word and I liked the contact between us. We drew even closer until he suddenly backed away.

I carefully examined him, he seemed nervous also because I  could hear him take continuous breaths.

"Terra." He said after a while of silence." I like you."

For some reason, it felt way different to hear him say it in real life. It made my heart skip and I really liked how shy he sounded while saying it.

"Jaden, I like you too," I said sheepishly. A serene smile spread over his face as he listened to me. His smile lighted me up and made me feel less nervous.

"I know you must be as nervous as I am right now." He said giggling then he showed me his hand." My hand is literally shaking."

I laughed when I looked at his hand as it slightly shuddered. In as much as I felt nervous, his words literally calmed me. I was not used to Jaden talking much but I liked this side of him.

"You said you would tell me what you liked about me," I said when I realized there was an awkward silence between us.

He looked at me with a smile. "Terra."

"Yes," I replied.

"I like everything about you. You have a great character, you are courageous and strong. For the time I have known you, I really love your company. " He said sincerely." Let me not forget how gorgeous you are."

My face literally turned red and I couldn't hold the smile in anymore.

"You are an amazing person and I am only blessed to know you. I really like you, Terra." He said, concluding his crescendo of compliments.

At that point, I was blushing heavily and I did not mind if I showed it.

"Jaden, you are an amazing person. You are probably the kindest person I know. You treat me so nicely in a way I have never been treated. I like everything about you. From your amazing character to your beautiful eyes."

When he heard me say beautiful eyes he smiled even more than before.

"You are really handsome," I said shocking even me. I was caught up in so many emotions at that point that I was now saying words that were shocking even to me.

The emotions caused me to walk closer to him we were at such a close distance our noses literally brushed against each other. My heart skipped a bit when I realized what I was about to do.

I looked into his eyes and leaned in close until our lips were meeting. His lips were soft against mine and I could feel my stomach twist into knots as I did it.

We were still on the school premises but I did not care. I continued to kiss him and the sudden wave of warmth hit me in and out.

I felt like I was melting away as his lips moved against mine. My heart skipped and the heat rose from my stomach to my chest.

The butterfly feeling feels so amazing, I never thought it would feel that good.

The kiss unfurled all my senses and nearly silenced all my thoughts. I never wanted it to end but it was going to.

So I drew away and then suddenly uttered "Would you be my boyfriend ?"

I know that was savage, but I really wanted to be his girlfriend and I did not care how weird it would sound for me to ask him.

He looked at me with a scrunched-up face, then he smiled widely, his eyes turning to crescent moons.

"Isn't it me who should ask that question?" He said giggling. I smiled back in response.

"Oh, I almost forgot," I said.

"Terra Adams, would you be my girlfriend?" That did sound better coming from him and it gave me a lot of joy.

"Yes, Jaden Parks. I would love to." I said then went in for another kiss. I did that because I was already missing the sensation of his lips. He kissed me back in perfect sync and the warmth immediately consumed me again.

Kissing a real person is way better than kissing your hand.

When we were done making out. I said bye to him and promised to call him later in the night.

I was really excited when I reached home and it was only today that I understood girls for getting so excited when they have a boyfriend.

I told Ariana about what happened today and she felt so excited, she kept screaming.

Ariana is such an amazing friend and I am beyond honored to have her as my friend.

I never thought things would change for me if I went back to school.

Today made me see that going back to school was the best idea my aunt could come up with.

I met a good friend who genuinely cares about me and I even have a boyfriend now which I never thought would happen in a million years.

For a while, I believed all humans are evil and that true love is impossible, but after meeting Ariana and Jaden, I came to realize that even in a world full of many evil people, they are still some nice people that care and love others.

Proving to me that there was no need to hate everyone.

I guess I can proudly say: I AM NOT A MISANTHROPE ANYMORE.
