Chapter 46) Christmas Eve
After returning home from an extreme match at TLC, I was immediately in the Christmas spirit upon entering my home as it was a few days away.
We decorated our Christmas Tree a few weeks before TLC and I couldn't wait to place a lot of presents underneath the tree for my family this year.
"Welcome home, baby." Ashley said, greeting me with a passionate kiss.
"Thank you. I'm excited for Christmas."
"So are we!"
"Is Santa coming?" Loto asked.
"Yes he is, Champ. You and Samaria have been great kids and Santa's gonna leave some presents underneath the tree and some surprises inside the stockings this year."
"I can't wait! I can't wait!" Loto said with excitement.
"He sure loves Christmas. I think he loves the holiday more than you, Ro!"
"Nah." I laughed.
Suddenly, my phone started to vibrate in my pocket.
"Uce. Are you free?"
"I'm with Ashley and the kids right now. What's up?"
"Have you prepared for the Christmas Eve party?"
"Shit, not yet. I just came home, Jey."
"It's all good, Uce. Let me know when you're ready for me to text the address to our co-workers and Paulie Pocket."
I chuckled, "I will."
I hung up the phone and Ashley looked at me with a smile on her face. "Your cousins?"
"Yeah. Well, Jey. They wanna send out the invites to our house for the party for our friends, but I forgot to pick up some snacks and some dinner."
"It's okay. I can pick it up..."
"No." I interrupted her, "I'll get everything. I also have some shopping to do for you and the kids while I'm out."
"Okay, drive safely."
"I will. I love you."
"I love you too."
I walked outside the house and drove over to the nearest grocery store to purchase some Christmas-themed cookies, snacks and even some dinner to prepare for the Christmas Eve party.
As time went on, I also went shopping for the kids after returning home with the groceries. I travelled over to the local Pensacola mall and found the best presents for my wife and kids. Even Duke.
After a long few hours of Christmas shopping, I pulled over my Range Rover and called Ashley.
"Hey babe. Is everything alright?" She asked.
"Yeah. I have the Christmas presents and I have to wrap them so can you and the kids head upstairs so I can take the presents to our bedroom and wrap them?"
"Sure!"
When I made it back home, I checked around the area and there was no sight of Ashley, Loto, or Samaria. Perfect. I took some presents into our master bedroom and wrapped them carefully before placing them underneath the Christmas tree.
Thirty minutes passed and I was finally finished wrapping everyone's presents. I was excited to see their faces after opening their gifts in a few days. I already bought ten presents each for all of them, but I went above and beyond and bought them some more presents.
"I finally have the presents all wrapped and under the tree."
I leaned closer to Ashley's ear and whispered, "I have a few extra unwrapped presents and they're gonna be from Santa to the kids."
"You're too adorable during the holidays, Ro. I've always loved that about you."
"Well, I love providing for my family. What can I say?" I smiled.
A couple of days later
"Alright Uce, send out the invitations through texting and we'll be good from there." I said.
"On it." Jimmy replied.
Jimmy and Jey texted the address over to Paul and our friends. I was excited to host a Christmas Eve party with my wife and our two wonderful children.
Later, the guests arrive. My cousins were the first to arrive, then my parents and many of our friends. Everyone greeted us and we all sat around and carried on a conversation for hours.
Ashley insisted on already preparing our Christmas Eve dinner for everyone and shortly after we gathered around the table and took our seats.
"Nice kitchen, dude." Dolph said.
"Thanks man."
"Roman, you have such a wonderful home. I'm so glad to see that your wife and kids are doing well."
"Of course, Paul. I love my family."
"And we love you too, Uce!" Jey said.
"I love y'all too." I laughed.
As we all sat at the dinner table and carried on with more conversations whilst eating, everything was perfect. I loved spending Christmas Eve with everyone we cared about.
Many of them have witnessed Ashley and I grow over the past few years and helped her through tough obstacles. I couldn't be anymore blessed to have an amazing family and incredible friends.
After the Christmas Eve party ended, everyone went home. Except for my cousins.
"Uce, can we crash here for the night?"
"Why?" I asked.
"We wanna spend Christmas morning with you!"
"Alright, alright. You both know I can't say no to my blood. I'll take you two to the guest room."
I reeled the both of them into a hug and brought them to their guest room and I made my way into the master bedroom after the kids went to sleep for the night.
I walked in and seen Ashley already asleep. I slowly made my way next to her and held her in my embrace as we fell asleep together.
