Chapter 26
"Someone is cocky, huh ?" The man asked smugly, then got up, holding the big, butcher knife in his hand.
"Baby, no, please.." Gabriel whispered numbly, still dizzy.
"Put your hands behind your head." The man ordered loudly, pointing the big knife at me, I heard everyone gasp softly in horror. I remained still for a moment, before I confidently did as I was told, but instead reached for the knife that was at the back of my bra. Then pulled it out, and threw it towards the stalker. It caught him in the hem of his shirt, right through his shoulder.
He was pinned to the wall, but I could tell he wasn't hurt because he didn't scream like a normal person.
That moment, while I was too busy feeling victorious, looking coyly at the man, we all heard police sirens.
. . .
Police officers entered the house and surrounded the whole location, then freed us all from the basement, and took the man towards a police car to arrest him while reading him his Miranda rights and warnings.
I was guided to the back of an ambulance with several other cast mates, including Beatrice, and was wrapped in a shock blanket. It was kinda cozy, making me feel safe for a moment.
My mum and siblings arrived at the location a few moments later, and the police explained everything to them. My mum looked upset, but didn't say anything. Even after the police left.
Even though that was what I waited for, it wasn't exactly my goal. After we got checked in the hospital, and were dismissed after finding no physical injuries, we sat in my mum's deli, and I began to explain everything to them.
It was the least I could do after what happened.
"I felt like I was constantly being watched, and it got worse when I realized that I didn't feel safe around the mirrors themselves. I wanted to know what was going on, and when I was telling Gabriel that everything would be okay, I felt like..we were being watched. I went downstairs to see the mirror in the living room, and my doubts were true. There was no gap between my finger and its reflection."
"What does that mean ?" Payton asked curiously.
"It meant that, it was a two-way glass. Not a real mirror. A two way glass is a glass where someone can see everything the other person's doing in the room, while the other person see nothing but their reflection."
"This person saw our every move." Gabriel muttered in dread.
I wrapped my arm around his torso in reassurance.
"When you started pointing at the mirror, I got curious and I tried to find out what was happening. I googled it and I figured out the truth. Then Jackson asked me about it, and I knew he deserved to know the truth, so I told him everything, while sitting in mine and Jaeden's room."
"He heard you guys. I figured it out while I was in the car with Rami and Mena. I told them to get back before we finished the tour."
Steven nodded.
"I apologize for putting you guys in such situation. I guess I didn't think this clearly."
We all nodded.
. . .
"Thanks for saving me baby.." Gabriel whispered, hugging me tightly. I sighed and relaxed my muscles, hugging him back.
"You don't have to thank me." I muttered.
"Listen, my mum wants to thank you in person. Could you, maybe, join us for dinner tomorrow ?" He asked shyly.
Oh, Gabriel. Even after six months of dating and you still get nervous when asking me on dates.
"Of course, baby ! That would be great."
.
I guess that didn't end so bad after all.
