Chapter 20
"Good morning, baby !" I said cheerfully as I felt Gabriel stir on the bed beside me, already waking up.
"Good morning.." He replied sleepily, rubbing his eyes. I leaned down to his level and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. He smiled as a result.
"What do you want to do today ? After filming the scenes, I mean ?"
"I think I'll stay here, with you. I don't have anything else to do." He answered, getting up from his sleeping position.
I mean, it kinda hurt that he only wants to stay with me because he had nothing else to do, but who cares ?
I shrugged, and continued to write down words on my laptop.
"Why are you looking for 'Haunted locations in America' ?" He asked me, looking closer at my laptop's screen.
I bit my lower lip in anxiety, afraid someone might hear us.
"W-What's going on ? Did I say something wrong ?" He questioned, afraid that he might have accidentally hurt my feelings.
"No, you didn't. I promise I'll explain when the time is right." I replied, glancing around me, then looked directly at the mirror.
That moment I remembered Jackson's words from a few days ago. He was scared because someone might hear us when he wanted to talk to me, and it suddenly hit me.
Thought after thought ran through my mind like a train. I numbly got out of the bed, and went out of the room, leaving Gabriel confused and afraid to stay in the room for much longer.
It was ten in the morning, and I never realized how late it was before I actually went downstairs and saw everyone sitting in the living room and doing whatsoever.
"Finally !" Aidan exclaimed sarcastically, rolling his eyes. For once I didn't care about saying something witty in return. I turned my head to the mirror that was about three metres away from me.
Then walked towards it, and stopped about a foot away.
I slowly put my finger to the glass, and looked at it from every angle possible. I heard Gabriel's footsteps walking into the room, making me realize that he followed me. I also realized that I was scaring the shit out of him.
And probably everyone in the room too.
Jackson glanced at me in concern, trying to figure out what I was thinking about. I looked away from the mirror as realization hit me like a locomotive.
I sighed heavily, trying to contain my horror.
We're in deep trouble.
Why didn't I find this out before ?
I was blinded by everything. I was blinded by the facts and I didn't even stand for a second to think like the writer I was.
I thought everything had to be logical. Because it was real life, wasn't it ?
I glanced over at Gabriel, only to see him looking back at me with concern. I went over to him and held his hand.
"I need some fresh air, okay ? I'm going to stand outside for a while." I muttered.
"What's going on ?" He asked, obviously taken aback and confused.
"Nothing." I said simply as I walked out of the mansion, trying to clear my mind.
