Present day, 22 BBY

Athena watched as Padmè's royal cruiser ship landed on Coruscant's landing dock. Athena, Padmè and R2 were in a yellow Naboo fighter ship as Padmè sat behind her sister in the gunner. R2 was behind Padmè, both sister were dressed in Naboo pilot outfits and wore helmets over their heads. Both of them exited the ship as R2 lowered out of his spot on the ship.

After the first assassination attempt on Athena, the senate and the Jedi council decided to push back the voting of the military creation act to today. Athena was ordered to stay on Naboo for three weeks and was heavily guarded. Staying on Naboo was the council's decision, but being heavily guarded was her sisters. Padmè was so worried about her sister and her safety, Athena had reassured her that she was than capable of taking care of herself. She was a Jedi after all, but Padmè still ordered at least to guards to be with her at all times.

Athena was Padmè's little sister and she would do anything to protect her, Athena understood that and she felt bad for making her sister worry so much.

Therefore as a precaution, Captain Typho had the sisters dressed up as a pilots. Kiara was pretending to be Athena again and Cordè was pretending to be Padmè. Athena watched as Kiara, dressed in her Jedi robes with the hood up.

Cordè exited the royal cruiser with a group of guards around Kiara, Captain Typho walked over to Padmè and Athena as he took his helmet off.

" We made it, I guess I was wrong. There was no, danger at all " Captain Typho says happily to the sisters, through the force, Athena still felt like something was wrong.

Just as she thought that, the ship exploded from within. The guards, Kiara and Cordè went flying off the ship. The ship was destroyed to pieces and both Padmè and Athena fell to the ground from the impact. Everything was on fire and Captain Typho went to the ship as Athena and Padmè tore of their helmets, both sisters ran to Cordè and Kiara, who had landed next to each other. They were heavily injured as Padmè went to Cordè's side and Athena went to Kiara's side.

" Miladies, I'm so sorry..." Cordè whispered as blood dripped down her chin " I've failed you, Jedi Senator " Cordè says looking at Athena before going limp in Padmè's arms, Athena then turned Kiara.

" Stay with me, Kiara " Athena says to her as she felt Kiara's life energy draining from her body.

" I've failed you too, Jedi Senator " Kiara started to apologise, but Athena just shakes her head.

" You did not fail me, you have served me wonderfully, till the end " Athena says before Kiara's body went limb.

" Milady, you're still in danger in here " Captain Typho says to Athena as he placed one hand on her shoulder and held a blaster in the other.

Athena just stares at Cordè and Kiara's bodies. They died protecting her, someone who could protect herself. Someone who had trained in the ways of the Jedi, someone who was supposed to protect others, she shouldn't be having other protect her.

Athena couldn't help but feel at fault for this.

" Athena, we need to get you out of here " Padmè says as she stood up and pulled out her blaster.

Athena quietly stood up and just continued to stare at Cordè and Kiara's dead bodies.

" I shouldn't of came back " Athena says as she turns to Padmè, her eyes tearing up.

" This vote is very important " Padmè says to Athena " You did you duty, Cordè and Kiara did theirs, now come ".

Padmè and Captain Typho had taken Athena to her and Padmè's shared apartment, the sisters had it for their long stays in Coruscant. Athena doesn't say to either of them as she walked through the living room of the apartment to her room.

Padmè and Captain Typho shared a look as they silently watched, Athena disappear behind the corner " She just needs time " Padmè says with a sad smile " A lot has happened in the last three weeks and I know, their deaths are hard on her ".

Captain Typho nodded " Kiara and Cordè, proudly served you both and would do anything to ensure, the safety of both you and Jedi Senator Amidala. Even if it costed them their lives ".

" I can only hope Athena, can understand that as well " Padmè says before excusing herself to go change.

Athena sighed as she smoothed out the black leather of her shirt, she took one last look in the mirror before walking over to her desk. Where her robe laid on her desk, she looked down me saw her lightsaber resting on her desk. Athena frowns at it, how could she be a Jedi, if she needed protecting. Even her sister was acting as her guard right now.

Was she even worth of wielding a lightsaber and calling her self a Jedi?.

Why was she even a Jedi?.

Athena swallowed the lump in her throat before reaching into her tunic and pulls out the necklace Anakin gave her, she smiles softly before letting it remain un-hidden. She never took it off, it was a source of comfort for her.

Athena sighed before putting her lightsaber on her belt and exited the room and walks to the living room, where Padmè was waiting for her.

The sisters were going to meet with the other senators of the loyalist committee for the meeting with Chancellor Palpatine and some of the Jedi council. Athena was going to use this opportunity to talk to them all, she didn't need protection and wanted to find this assassin herself. She was more than capable of doing it himself, she had one of the best Jedi Masters training her and she was very skilful.

Padmè gives her sister a questioning look when she sees the determination on Athena's face, something completely different from the solemn look she had before.

Athena was going to stop this assassin.

" I don't know how much longer I can hold this off, my friends " Palpatine says to the Jedi council members in front of him. Master Yoda, Master Ploo-Koon, Master Windu and Master Ki-Adi were seated before him, while Master Fisto stood behind them " More and more star systems are joining the separatists ".

" If they do break away- " Windu began to say.

" I will not let this Republic that has stood for a thousand years be split in two, my negotiations will not fail " Palpatine interrupted.

" If they do, you must realise there aren't enough Jedi to protect the Republic " Windu informed "We are the keepers of peace, not soilders ".

" Master Yoda " Palpatine says, getting Yoda's attention " Do you think it will really come to war? ".

" Hmm, the Dark Side clouds everything " Yoda says " Impossible to see the future is ".

A hologram of one of Palpatine servants appeared on his desk and informed him that the Loyalist Committee has arrived in Huttese.

" Good, send them in " Palpatine says before the hologram disappeared, he turns his attention back to the Jedi council " We will discuss this matter later ".

Palpatine stood up as Yoda got up from his seat along and along with the other Jedi council besides Ploo-Koon, who was in deep thought. Athena walked in besides Padmè as the other senators filled in behind them, Master Yoda walked over to the sisters.

" Jedi Senator Amidala, your tragedy on the landing platform terrible. Seeing you alive, brings warmth to my heart " Yoda says to Athena.

" Do you have any idea, who behind these attacks? " Athena asked Yoda.

" Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners on the moons of Naboo " Ploo-Koon explained to his Padawan " It's good to see you again, My Padawan ".

" It's good to see you too, Master " Athena says with a smile.

" I think that Count Dooku was behind both attacks and has it out for my sister " Padmè spoke up.

" He is a political idealist, not a murder " Windu says.

" Regardless, I want to find out who's behind theses attacks and put a stop to them. After the voting, we can go on a mission to find them, Master Ploo-Koon " Athena declared.

" Slow down, Padawan. Count Dooku was once a Jedi, he couldn't assassinate anyone. It's not in his character " Ploo-Koon says.

" For certain, Jedi Senator, in grave danger you are " Yoda added.

" Master Jedi " Palpatine spoke up as he gazed out the window of his office " May I suggest, the Jedi Senator be placed under the protection of your graces ".

" Do you really think that it's a wise decision, under these stressful times " Senator Bail Organa from Alderaan says as he stepped forward and Athena was taken back at the Chancellor's suggestion.

" Chancellor, if I may comment, I'm a Jedi and can protect myself. I do not need, other Jedi to protect me, I do not believe- " Athena started to argued.

" The situation is that serious? " Palpatine questioned as he finished what Athena was saying " No, but I do. Jedi Senator " Palpatine walked forward to the group as Yoda eyed him carefully " I realise all to well that the additional security might be disruptive for you. But perhaps, someone you're very familiar with. An old friend, Master Kenobi ".

" That's possible " Ploo-Koon says, agreeing with Palpatine's suggestion and Athena looked at her Master, shocked that he would actually agree with this " He's just returned from a border dispute on Ansion ".

" No " Athena says disagreeing with them " I'm not going to be discussed as if I'm a damsel in distress, I do not need protection from a fellow Jedi, I- ".

" Padawan " Ploo-Koon started sternly.

" I know you do not like the idea of this, but your safety and life comes first. You are far to important to both the Jedi Council and The Senate to lose, please understand where we are coming from. It is not because we don't believe in your skills and capability as a Jedi. It is because we don't want to lose our only Jedi Senator " Windu finished.

Athena let out a sigh as she understood, where they were coming from. But she still didn't like the idea.

" Do it for me, Jedi Senator. The thought of losing you is unbearable " Padmè added.

Athena looks at her sister before looking at the ground and nods in agreement.

" I will have Obi-Wan report to immediately, Padawan " Ploo-Koon says to Athena " We will have to continue the pause on your training but continue to train with, what I already taught you in your free time ".

" I will, thank you. Master Ploo-Koon " Athena says bitterly.

Athena was disappointed the meeting didn't go the way she wanted. She felt like she was being treated like a helpless child more than anything, she knew it was for her Benefit and protection but it still frustrated her deeply and the determination she once had had disappeared.

Ploo-Koon gave his Padawan a sad smile.

" I understand your frustration, but we couldn't continue your training if you're killed, young Padawan. Please have patience, I promise we will start back on your when this is all over " Ploo-Koon says to Athena as he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder and Athena calmed down with a deep breath as she nodded.

" Thank you, May the force be with you " Ploo-Koon says to his Padawan.

" And may it be with you " Athena says.

Athena subconsciously touches her necklace as she turned and walks back to her apartment to wait for Obi-Wan.
