" Try to over ride it, R2 " Anakin asked the droid as he leaned over and picked up two brown pilot helmets with goggles attached to them " Put this on, the goggles too " Anakin says to Athena as he handed her the helmet and goggles. Athena did as he said and adjusted the goggles to fit better.

The ship suddenly pulled upwards and speed up to break through the atmosphere. Athena clenched her fists at the sudden movement, feeling uneasy. It was different from any other ship she had been on.

" Nervous? " Anakin asked Athena as the ship almost reached space, Athena nodded her head in response.

" Aren't you? " Athena asked him.

" No, I'm kind of thinking of it as pod-racing " Anakin answered honestly " You can hold my hand if you want as we break through the final layer of the atmosphere ".

Anakin held his hand out to Athena, who took it gratefully as the ship shook a little as they reached space. Athena felt Anakin use the force to calm her down, and she immediately felt calmer as R2 beeped happily that they all made it to space safely.

" Thank you, Ani " Athena says smiling at Anakin, who smiled back.

" You're welcome, Princess " Anakin says.

Athena was about to say something, when she noticed the other fighter ships. They were attacking a huge space station, Athena let go of Anakin's hand and pointed " Look, there they are ".

" That's, where the auto-pilot is taking us " Anakin concluded, the ship sped off to the fight and immediately, Athena and Anakin were met with more explosions and attacks " This is intense ".

The ship dodged an nearby attack as enemy ships and fellow pilots flew by " R2, please get us off this autopilot, it's going get us killed? " Athena asked, R2 beeped in response as suddenly the ships controls turned from red to blue.

" You did it, R2 " Anakin exclaimed as he took control of the ship " It seems like I can switch over complete control of the guns to you, you handle the guns and I'll handle the piloting " Anakin says to Athena and she nods.

" Okay, let's do this " Athena says as she readied to fight. Anakin pressed a few buttons and she had complete control of the ships guns on her side of the control panels and Anakin successfully and control of the piloting.

" Okay, let's go left " Anakin says as he turned the ship left, Anakin dodged a few attacks as Athena shot the ones attacking them. R2 beeps worriedly " Go back, Qui-Gon told us to stay in this cockpit, so that's what we're going to do " Anakin answered the droid.

Anakin flew around a fin of the station as he dodged another attack, Athena turned around and saw three enemy ships trailing them.

" We've got there on our trail, Ani " Athena exclaimed.

" Heard " Anakin replied as he hit a button " I'll try spinning, that's a good trick ".

The ship suddenly started to spin around really fast as Athena and Anakin let out a scream " Some trick, Anakin. I think I'm going to be sick " Athena says as R2 Whistled.

" I know but we're in troubl, just hand on " Anakin replied to the droid and Athena as he steadied the ship again. He did a quick flip with the ship and got them behind the three ships chasing them " Now, Athena ".

" Right " Athena responded as she shot down the three ships.

" Yipee " Anakin exclaimed as he took off again.

Two more ships started trailing behind them, R2 let out a shriek as one of the ships successfully hit their ship.

" We're hit " Anakin exclaims as the ship started to spin out of control again and headed towards one of the giant enemy space stations landing docks, Anakin did his best to steady the ship as he dodged the grounded fighter ships " The deflector shield, is too strong ".

They all shrieked as they flew deeper and deeper into enemy territory, Athena subconsciously grabbed Anakin's arm as he tried to stop the ship " I'm trying to stop it " Anakin shouted as the ship started to lose momentum and hit the ground, it hits the ground before stopping completely.

" Everything is overheated, Ani " Athena says to him as all the dials and controls signalled that it was overheated.

" This is not good " Anakin says as battle droids rushed towards their ship, Athena and Anakin randomly pushed buttons and knobs, desperately trying to get the ship started again before to droids could get to them. R2 beeped as he messed with the controls again and the ship turns back on.

" Yes, we have power " Anakin says as he pressed a few more buttons " Shields up ".

" Ready, R2? " Athena asked as she and R2 activated the shields at the same time. The shields deflected any blaster bullets being shot at the ship " Take this droids " Athena shouted as she took them out one by one " And this " Athena shouted again as she switched what she was shooting and shot two powerful bombs at the droids. The ship swayed from the power of shooting the bombs, the bombs completely missed the droids and took out, what looked liked to be the power generator of the ship " Oops..." Athena says sheepishly to Anakin " I think, we better get out of here ".

" You can say that again, let's get out of here " Anakin says laughing as he turned the ship around and flew back to where the others are. Athena turned around and saw the enemy space station start to explode from the inside.

" Now, this is pod racing " Anakin shouted as he flew the ship faster, Athena laughed as she remembered what he said earlier.

" Whoooo " Athena shouts as Anakin got them out of the station, before it completely exploded. All of the remaining pilots were cheering as they saw Athena and Anakin's ship.

" You did it, Ani " Athena says smiling happily as she grabbed the side of the boys face and gave to boy a kiss on his cheek before letting go, which caused the boy to blush.

" We did it, Anakin, together " Athena says, Anakin's smile grew as she looked over to her home planet " Let's go home " Athena says as Anakin followed the rest of the pilots back to Naboo.

Athena and Anakin stood next to Obi-Wan as Padmè who was dresses in her Queen attire addressed the captured Viceroy, there was no need for Athena to dress up as a Princess any longer. Her mission was complete and was stepping down from the position now, Athena had announced this to the council of Naboo and word spread very quickly, even in amidst of the aftermath of the battle. The senate had sent a ship to take the capture Viceroy to question about their crimes.

Athena looks down at her feet as sadnesses filled her heart, Obi-Wan had briefly told her and Anakin that Qui-Gon had died in battle by the hands of a Sith named Darth Maul, whom was then defeated by Obi-Wan.

Anakin looked over at Athena and discretely grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. It something that always calm her down, and she look down at him and smiled gratefully.

" Now, Viceroy " Padmè spoke " You're going to have to go back to the senate and explain all this ".

Captain Panaka walked forward as he told them they could kiss their trade federation goodbye. He turned around and walked them to the ship, Athena lets go of Anakin's hand as she, Anakin and Obi-Wan followed behind. They walked up to the Chancellor Palpatine, as he exited the ship and bowed respectfully at him.

" We are indebted to you for your bravery, Obi-Wan " Palpatine says to Obi-Wan before turning to Athena and Anakin " And you, young Skywalker and Amidala. We will watch both of your careers with great interest".

He patted both of their shoulders before walking to meet Padmè. All of them turned back around to return to the group, Obi-Wan gently pushed Athena and Anakin in front of him.

" Congratulations on your election, Chancellor " Padmè greeted Palpatine.

" Your boldness has saved our people, Your Majesty " Palpatine replied " It's you, who should be congratulated. Together, we shall bring peace and prosperity to the Republic ".

Athena kneeled down beside Obi-Wan as Master Yoda paced back and forth in front of them. Athena wasn't quite sure, why she had joined the meeting, without Anakin.

" Confer on you, the level of Jedi Knight, the council does " Yoda spoke " But agree, with your taking this boy or girl as your Padawan learner, I do not ".

" Qui-Gon, believed in them " Obi-Wan says confidently, Athena felt a little awkward silently listening to their conversation, when it felt like she shouldn't even be there. Yoda glances at Athena before sighing and started to pace around again.

" The chosen one the boy may be, a high midi-chlorian count the girl may have. Nevertheless, grave danger I fear in their training, especially the boy " Yoda says.

" Master Yoda " Obi-Wan says calmly " I gave Qui-Gon my word, I would train Anakin and Athena ".

Yoda grunted in response as Athena watched the conversation unfold, her eyes never leaving Yoda's pacing form.

" Without approval of the council, if I must " Obi-Wan added.

" Qui-Gon's defiance, I sense in you. Need that you do not " Yoda says before taking a breath " Agree with you the council does, your apprentice Skywalker shall be ".

" And Young Amidala? " Obi-Wan asked as he glanced at Athena, she looks at him, worried she might not be able to train as a Jedi.

" Child " Yoda says getting Athena's attention " Strong in the force you are, very clear it is. Trained you will be ".

" No test? " Obi-Wan asked as Yoda shook his head.

Athena lets out a small gasp and look at Obi-Wan with a huge smile and he looks at her with a proud smile of his own.

" But " Yoda says, regaining Obi-Wan and Athena's attention " Trained by Master Kenobi you will not, Master only have one apprentice, another Master you will have ".

" I can train them both " Obi-Wan tried to argue, but Yoda raised a hand and immediately Obi-Wan silenced himself.

" Decide later the council will, more pressing matters there is " Yoda says, referring to Qui-Gon's funeral that they all needed to attend. Obi-Wan nodded sadly and him and Athena bowed at Yoda.

Anakin stood between Athena and Obi-Wan as they all watched Qui-Gon's fire burial. Athena heard whimpers and beeps from R2 as she gazed sadly at Qui-Gon's body. Obi-Wan turned to Athena and Anakin with his hood up, the orange hue of the fire glowed on his face.

" What will happen to us now? " Anakin asked, Athena and Obi-Wan hadn't had the chance to fill him in yet.

" The council has granted me permission to train you, the council also granted permission for Athena to be trained by another. You both will be Jedi, I promise " Obi-Wan says as he looked at Anakin and then at Athena, Anakin nodded his head and turned to Athena.

" Obi-Wan will not train you? " Anakin asked Athena in a whisper.

" He can only have one apprentice, but the council will decide, who will train me later. Don't worry Ani, we will become Jedi together " Athena answered.

Anakin nodded and turned back towards the fire, she felt sadness form Anakin, so she reached over and placed her hand on his.

On the other side of the room, Yoda and Windu stood next to each other.

" There's no doubt, the mysterious warrior was a Sith " Windu says as Yoda turned to him.

" Mmm, always two there are. No more, no less. A Master and an Apprentice " Yoda replied.

" But which was destroyed " Windu questioned as both Jedi turned their gazes back to the fire " The Master or the Apprentice ".

The crowd roared with cheering and there was music blasting from the parade. The people of Naboo and the Gungans were celebrating, not only a victory but peace among their species.

Athena stood proudly between Anakin and R2 as they stood in line with Obi-Wan, Governor Sio, Padmè, Palpatine and Captain Panaka, in that order. Obi-Wan glanced down at Anakin before looking at Athena, checking on them. He then smiles proudly.

Anakin had his hair cut significantly shorter. Athena's hair was pulled into a high ponytail, both of them donning Padawan braids on the right side of their heads. Athena and Anakin smiled happily at each other. Athena then looks over at her sister, who turned to meet her gaze and she smiles proudly at Athena.

Confetti was thrown as Boss Nass walked up the steps to all of them, Padmè walked forward to meet him as Governor Sio handed her the bright orb he was holding. Padmè held it out to Boss Nass who accepted it, he turns to the crowd and raised it above his head.

" Peace " Boss Nass shouted happily as the crowd roared again.

Padmè turned at smiles at Athena and Anakin, who both returned the smile.
