"What the fuck do we do?" Hoseok keeps tugging at the edges of his hair, his voice hushed as Jimin and him hastily scurry through the hallways, eyes set to determine who took the missing page from the Book of Missions.
"Just keep an eye on anything suspicious. We only have a few hours left until Michael arrives and if we haven't found the page by then. . .," Jimin turns his head and looks at his companion with fear looming in the back of his eyes,
"We're dead."
"What's up guys!"
Jimin and Hoseok turn around in sync, both releasing a breath of relief as they spot their bulky younger brother, who's waving at them from a far corner in the main hall. Eyeing each other they nod in agreement before moving their way over to Jungkook. He's wearing his usual practice outfit, the never-ending working out a trademark of his.
"JK, how's it going? You seem. . . happy." Jimin curtly says, eyebrows furrowed as he inspect the man in front of him.
"Yeah, what's there to be happy about these days?" The anxious of the three speaks up in what was supposed to be a whisper to himself. Jungkook cocks up an eyebrow as he looks at Hoseok before he takes a bite of a green apple that he leads up from his backpack.
"Well first off, I broke Seojoons nose. That was pretty funny — to me at least. Second off, one of us has a soul that has started to spark. I don't know what you guys think, but I think that's pretty awesome. Imagine if it's me? What if it's a sign that I'm ready to return—"
"It's nothing like that Jungkook. It's bad." Jimin cuts off the younger one whose eyes sparkles with hope and dreams, but just as fast, they turn pitch-black once more, dull and dark.
Jungkook bites down on the inside of his cheek, swallowing the big piece of apple in his mouth.
"Ouch man. What's wrong with you guys anyways? You've been like this for a while now. All angsty and stuff." He lazily points between the two older ones.
The trouble minded looks at one another, an internal contemplation on telling the truth to Jungkook.
Tell him.
And that's when the three pulled in closer to each other, a small circle forming, small whispers and gasps exchanged between them as the revelation about Chi and their old mission is revealed, how Chi and Jin has found each other and how they need help to get ahold of everything.
And as they do so, the spoken subject turns around the corner, her eyes set on another specific target as she march forward, tears threatening to spill down her rosy cheeks. Jungkook lift his head slightly as he spots her, his brows furrowing as he watch how she turns around her lover — how Seokjin's warm chocolate eyes greet her — how her flat palm meets his face, the smack bouncing off of the tall walls in the hall.
All other sounds are gone, silence filling up the great room, angels turning their heads at the scene.
"I hate you."
Tears are falling from the pretty girl's cheeks as her body trembles slightly while her voice wavers. Jin is speechless, his face painted with confusion as he reach forward to hold the girl he loves in his arms.
"Don't fucking touch me! Don't you dare." Chi-Sun takes a step back, hands up in front of her to block any physical contact between them.
"I know what you did. I know you killed me." She whispers the last part, her eyes locking with the black angel whose distorted mind finally clicks, the memories tumbling into the light, only now realizing why he found her familiar. Why he remembered her soft eyes, her smooth skin, her gentle voice.
"Baby, I didn't—" He starts, but the smaller girl just keeps looking at him with despair and betrayal in those eyes that looked at him with tenderness only hours before.
"Taehyung pushed me off that bridge. You— you were the witness. You told them I killed myself!" The volume in her voice rises, as she buries her face in her hands.
"Listen to me angel, please— I didn't know this by then, I promise. I was on a mission, I had no other choice. Just let me explain." Tears form in the older angel's eyes as he moves forward to the girl that makes his heart beat like a rapid fire, the only way for him to know that there's a way out of this. Out of misery.
"Leave her alone Seokjin, you've done more than enough."
Jimin, Hoseok and Jungkook all turn their heads at the aggravating sound of the angel with the once broken nose.
Seojoon swiftly comes to Chi-Sun's side, his arm snaking around her body to keep her away from the miserable black angel.
Jungkook breathes through his nose, feeling how the resentment starts bubbling from within him. His sight is blurred by darkness, darkness of anger coursing through his veins.
Park fucking Seojoon.
"Chi, please come with me. I'll try and explain everything. Baby, please." Jin begs her to take his hand that's shaking with fear — fear of losing the one thing that matters to him.
But instead, she turns on her heel, followed closely by the white angel who turns around and sends a triumphant smirk to the black angel.
"I need some time alone, Seojoon. Please."
Chi-Sun tells him, her voice hoarse and weary. The told angel puts his hand on her back, a compassionate touch accompanied by a understanding nod.
And as they part their ways and leave the heartbroken black angel all by himself, the three same ones in the corner move closer to Jin, comforting words finds its way through their nervous lips.
But one of them simply can't come up with any comforting words. All that goes on inside of his head is circled around one specific angel and how he can make it up for his brother. How he can take revenge on the humiliation, the pain, the misery.
And just like that Jungkook's rancorous orbs lock with Jin's saddened ones, his lips tightlipped as he speaks.
"Leave it to me, Jin. I'll take good care of him."

well well well !! long time no see loves 🌸
i just want to start off by saying i'm so incredibly sorry for leaving this precious story of mine on hold for so long. it was my intention to keep updating it as planned but then life happened i guess.
these past 5 months has gone by SO fast that i simply haven't had the time and right mindset to fully sit down and take my time on writing good, quality chapters for you guys. and once again, i'm so sorry...
nevertheless i really hope you enjoyed this chapter. please re-read some chapters if needed, cause i know i did lmao.
i've been spending today plotting and finding out how this story will end. and let me tell you ... drama is coming.
there's around 4-5 chapters left of the story 👀
i know this chapter was short, but i still need to get back into the rhythm of writing — and if i made it any longer i wouldn't be able to fit all the plot without making it wayyy to long.
what i'm trying to say is that if there's somehow still someone who has this story saved in their library then THANK YOU for reading my story and for believing in my writing skills.
they're a little rusty so bare with me 🥺
