Clutching her books to her chest, Chi-Sun slowly walks through Heaven, her head already weary thinking about the start of yet another week of studying with two of the black angels, Yoongi and Namjoon.
Turning her head slightly she watch how the clouds outside move in the morning sky, kissed into brilliant white by the sun. Using the breezy weather as her mood-booster she nods her head in determination for this week to be productive and to focus on her own happiness; and on reaching Earth to visit her mother.
She had noticed that her mind somehow seemed to be clearer — and that makes sense without her knowing that Yoongi had retrieved his compulsion on her thanks to Darcie.
Chi's mouth parts in surprise as she spots the back of a familiar angel ahead of her, his long, golden hair tied into his signature bun today. Taking fast steps to reach him, she pushes past the other angels on the hallways.
"Azrael!" She yells through the small crowd, her eyes set on the Arch Angel in the distance. Not hearing her calling, Chi sighs out and starts running faster, one of the thick books in her grip dropping to the marble floor with a loud thud. Not wanting to miss the chance of speaking to the kind angel she keeps running, yelling his name several times.
"Azrael, wait up!"
Chi stops up as she notice him glancing over his shoulder swiftly, clearly spotting the heavy-breathing angel trying to get in contact with him, but to her surprise he turns his head and keeps walking straight ahead.
What the hell?
Watching him walk away, Chi keeps on panting while her mind is confused as to why Azrael pretended not to see her — when clearly he did.
"Lost this?"
A familiar warm voice brings Chi-Sun out of her roaming thoughts and as she turns, Seojoons soft eyes find hers. Glancing down to his outstretched hand reveals the book that she had dropped in her rush just a few minutes ago.
"Oh— uhm, yes! Thank you so much." She stammers out, her breathing still slightly racked from running. Reaching for her book, her fingers brush against Seojoon's soft skin making her cheeks heat up within an instant.
Smiling at the suddenly shy girl, Seojoon runs a hand through his dark-brown hair and start to walk alongside her.
"You heading to class?" his comforting voice speaks, and Chi-Sun feel her nervousness ease away with every word. Nodding as a response she turn her head and look at him, not complaining about the view that's now turned into her company.
"And you're teaching today, I can imagine?"
Seojoon chuckles lightly, the delightful smile-wrinkles occurring at his eyes making Chi-Sun weak in the knees.
"Yes. . . I'm excited for the day you will be in one of my classes."
Astonished by his words she rolls her lips together and avoid his eyes again. He's flirting with me.
"Guess you'll have to wait for a while. I suck at so many classes still. . ." Chi trails off, nibbling on her bottom lip timidly. Seojoon hums as a response, his smile still not fading.
"You'll learn eventually. But just remember to not rush things — the Arch Angels are very specific about learning naturally." His tone is more severe now, making Chi turn her head and see how he's staring ahead instead of looking at her.
"What do you mean exactly?" A illiterate smile forms on her lips, suddenly curious as to what Seojoon is hinting at.
"Well, studying with black angels isn't—"
He stops his sentence abruptly, his expression going blank.
Chi-Sun furrow her brows at his statement and she watch his face going pale in regret. How does he know?
"Wait, how do you know—"
"Lee Chi-Sun, I need to talk to you." Another voice breaks into the conversation, a warm hand catch her wrist from behind.
Biting down on her bottom lip she already knows that Kim Seokjin is the one touching her arm with such gentleness before she turn and face him. Shaking her arm loose, she looks up at his dark-brown eyes that quickly fills with what seems to be. . . guilt-ridden.
"Seokjin." Chi says casually, swallowing thickly as she find herself in a constant captivation whenever he's close.
"Can I talk to you? Please." The older black angel requests, his flawless skin almost glittering like when the rays of sunshine reach a small pebble of running water.
Chi-Sun sighs almost inaudibly, but Jin hears it, making a pained feature strike it face.
"We're actually heading to class."
Almost forgetting that the two of them weren't alone, Chi-Sun looks at Seojoon, who's now staring at the black angel with an aggravated furrow between his brows.
Parting her lips, Chi finds herself between the two angels, somehow feeling misplaced.
Seokjin keeps his stare at Chi as he offers his hand to her, his eyes pleading her to grab it and leave Seojoon behind.
"I— uhm. . ." She whispers to herself, her thoughts racing as the speed of lightning.
On one hand she wants to question Seojoon further about how he knows about her studying with the black angels. And on the other hand is Seokjin, who she's been angry with for the past week ever since their last conversation. Why would he want to talk now?
Slamming her out of her thoughts, Seojoon takes a step forward towards Jin, their bodies now close as he clenches his jaw.
"She clearly doesn't want to come with you. Just back off, Hell bastard."
Getting annoyed himself, Jin breathes out through his nose, finally looking at the white angel who's puffing up his chest like a fucking jerk.
"Funny how you keep talking when no ones is speaking to you."
"Let's just go."
Cocking up an eyebrow at the male opposite from him, he feels the warm touch of Chi-Sun who's wrapped her hand around his underarm. A small smirk fills up Jin's profile, a triumphant glint in his eyes as he watches how Seojoon's face falls as he turn his back on him, getting dragged away by Chi-Sun.
Shaking her head she drags the black angel along, going further into Heaven before leaning forward at a turn, looking down a narrow concrete hall that's been deserted from other angels. Tightening the hold on Seokjin, she pushes him forward making him stumble slightly, an audible 'ouch' leaving his plump lips.
"So, what is it Seokjin?" Chi-Sun cross her arms over her chest, leaning back on the brick-wall behind her. She tries her best to keep her stare stoic, her lips pursed as her brown eyes watch the handsome male angel.
"I told you to call me Jin."
The black angel rubs his elbow from Chi-Sun's hard grip, before looking at the younger angel who's actually quite scary in this moment. He watch her as she rolls her eyes at his comment, about to turn around the corner once more, when he stretch out his arm at her waist, trapping her from leaving. She stops in her tracks, letting out an annoyed sigh.
"Chi-Sun, I'm sorry for what I said to you. I didn't mean any of it. I was just. . ." He struggles to find his words, running a stressed hand through his raven-black locks which only makes the female even more impatient.
"You were just what? A fucking idiot?" She grits out through her teeth, brows furrowed in judgement.
"Something like that," Jin's broad shoulders slump down, "but I really am sorry. I usually don't do this. Apologize, I mean. But I don't know what it is about you. . . You somehow— intrigue me."
With those words he lift his head once more and look at Chi-Sun, watching her reaction carefully.
"You should always apologize to someone when you've been a jerk. No matter who it is."
Jin chuckles heartedly, feeling that stupid flutter in his stomach that he's had the past days whenever the beautiful, blonde haired angel would cross his mind. Why is he feeling like this?
"I know. But. . . You know that us black angels lost the human-part of our souls, right? I'm not supposed to feel the urge to apologize. I'm not supposed to feel— anything, really."
Taking a step closer, Jin leads his hands to Chi's body, watching how she freeze in the spot, her breath caught in her throat. He gently push her wavy, ice-blond hair behind her shoulders.
"Can you forgive me Chi? Please." He pleads, dark-brown orbs glistening in the faint-lit hallway.
Chi-Sun bites down on her bottom lip before looking him in the eye once more.
"Sure. I'll forgive you. You need to apologize more though."
The wide grin on Jin's face rubs off on Chi-Sun who playfully push away the black angel from her body, knowing that she won't be able to hold back the urge to taste his lips if she don't.
"I will, I promise." Jin say, watching as the pretty girl starts walking away from him.
"Apologizing soothes you. Makes you. . . more attractive." She chirps, striding forward.
Smirking behind her, Jin tries to hold back a smile from spreading on his lips.
"Even more?"
Turning her head around she raise her eyebrows at the older angel, tilting her head to the side.
"I can take back my words and still be mad at you, you know? You should be happy that I'm such a weak soul that forgives easily."
Jin laughs at her words, his jaw starting to be sore from smiling so much.
Reaching the square hall once more, both angels walk alongside each other in silence, the buzzing from other angels surrounding them.
Chi-Sun wants to ask him about all kinds of stuff, but somehow she feels like she doesn't have the right to. Because he's a black angel.
So she seal her lips, questions hidden as she occasionally steals a few glances at the handsome, dark male beside her.
"Chi! Yo girl, hold up!"
Jin turns around at the sudden voice that's calling for his company, his head snapping to watch Darcie bounce in the distance, her feet hurrying in their direction.
"Well, looks like my time is up with miss popular, huh?" He says, the corners of his lips tilting upwards as he glance at Chi-Sun —
only to spot Hobi and Taehyung in the background, in the corner of the room making. . . disturbing grimaces in his direction. Threatening them with his eyes he ruffles his dark hair swiftly. I'll kill both of you at lunch.
"I guess so. Thanks for apologizing, Jin." Chi rolls her lips together, tiptoeing slightly to seem taller next to him.
"No— thank you for dealing with my annoying ass." He gives her a wink that makes her widen her eyes for a short moment, feeling how the pink tint returns to her cheeks, the warmth spreading on her face.
Within no time, Darcie has replaced Jin's place and is now standing in front of her, small pebbles of sweat on her forehead.
Chi-Sun giggles at her, lifting her finger to wipe away a drop of water from Darcie's forehead. "You should work out more."
Darcie nods her head in agreement, wiping the back of her head over her forehead, her breathing slowly turning normal. "I— I know, don't remind me ever again. P.E wasn't exactly my— my strongest class. And that's not what I'm here to discuss."
Locking her arm with the panting girl, Chi walks happily alongside her best friend. "What is it then?"
"Tonight. . ." Darcie trails off, making Chi-Sun even more curious to what the pretty angel has to say, "the black angels have a mission on Earth."
Confusion paints her face, not getting why this information is special to either her or Darcie. Shrugging her shoulders carelessly Chi look at her friend with a calm stare.
"So what? What's going to happen?"
Darcie then leans closer, so close that her low whisper easily reach Chi's ear in the midst of the noisy square.
"What's going to happen. . . is that we'll be tagging along — without them knowing."
