CHAPTER EIGHTEEN:
SAGE DANIELS
THE THREE WOMEN ENTERED THE Avengers facility, walking down the halls and glancing towards all of the people walking throughout the building before their eyes landed on Sage Daniels who was sitting in the meeting room with her phone placed to her ear, talking to someone. No doubt it was her girlfriend. Sage glanced up when she saw the three opening the door.
"Babe, I have to go. I'll call you when I leave here." Sage was quick to say goodbye before hanging up the phone and standing up in order to glance towards the three. She offered the three women a small smile. "I heard that you could use my help? Is everything alright?"
"We think there's someone HYDRA has in their hold." Liliya answered Sage. The blonde softly sighed, her arms crossed over her chest. "It's someone that Wanda keeps seeing in her dreams. Her name is Bethany Dennings. And we believe she ahs the gift to walk through dreams, and that's why HYDRA wants her."
"Well, how can I help?"
"She said she saw someone." Wanda spoke up. "She said her name was Simmons. She didn't remember who it was, but I think she was talking about Sapphire. Could there be a possibility that she's at the same place that Sapphire was?"
Sage shook her head. "No, I wouldn't think so. When Agent May and I went to rescue her, we destroyed the place, killed everyone inside."
"Damnit." Wanda breathed, running a hand through her hair.
Sage pursed her lips, glancing towards her phone before looking back up towards Wanda. "I know someone. If I can get in touch with them, then they may be able to help. Her name is Roxanne, she's my inside person for HYDRA."
"She works with HYDRA?" Theodora asked, scoffing in disbelief.
"Yes. . . but not fully. She doesn't agree with them. But she knows how much HYDRA goes after S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as the Avengers, so she opted to stay and keep in touch if she knew of an oncoming attack that was about to happen on you guys." She looked between the three before giving the small nod of her head. "Trust me. I've known her for years. We'll find your girl."
"And if she doesn't know anything?" Wanda questioned, her jaw clenched.
"Don't think like that." Liliya shook her head. "We'll find Bethany, I promise."
"Listen, I know that you've been out all day." Sage told them, Steve having informed her of this information when he had met her at the door of the facility. "And I know that bed you slept in was awful. Why don't you three go eat something, maybe take a fifteen minute nap, while I contact my guy." She took a few steps closer to Wanda, placing a hand on the woman's shoulder and giving her the nod of her head. Sage grabbed her phone before offering the three a small smile and squeezing past them before making a call.
Wanda sighed, placing her hands on her forehead, entering the room further as she closed her eyes. Liliya glanced towards Theodora before nodding towards the woman to leave, knowing she wanted to know how her kids were doing under Avery's care. Theodora nodded before pulling out her phone and walking out of the room, closing the door behind her. Liliya crossed her arms, a small frown on her face. She watched as Wanda stood there, her eyes closed. Liliya walked forward before sitting on the table.
"Wanda. . ."
"We have to find her." Wanda whispered, shaking her head. "We have to. I told her that we would find her. It's been months. She needs us."
"I know." Liliya softly told her. "Wanda we are doing everything in our power in order to find her, alright? We found Eloise, we found Avery, we'll find Beth."
"Both of them came out completely different." Wanda cried. "Eloise is a vampire!"
"Don't let her hear you say that." Liliya muttered. "She's not a vampire she's just. . . not 100% human. Vampires drink blood, Eloise doesn't do that. She just has the abilities of a vampire."
"I wouldn't be surprised if she could turn into a bat." Wanda scoffed, earning an amused smile from Liliya. Liliya cocked her head slightly as she examined Wanda for a moment before smirking.
"My god. You like her and you haven't even met her." Liliya smiled. Wanda snapped her head towards the woman, her eyes widened slightly. Liliya's smile widened even more as she read Wanda's facial features. "Oh, it's even deeper than that. You're totally in love with her."
"You can't be in love with someone you don't know."
"Well, she's not a stranger is she?" Liliya asked, and Wanda shook her head. "Then you know her. In fact, you two communicate in each other's dreams. You know more about one another than you probably would know if you were face to face."
"She said something to me." Wanda hummed. "She said that I wouldn't remember. That I would completely forget the dream. But I remember it. I remember all of them so vividly. So, what if. . . if we do meet―︎"
"―︎when." Liliya corrected.
Wanda looked at her before continuing, "when we meet, what if she thinks I don't know her. That we are just a couple of strangers."
"Well then I guess you'll just have to communicate and tell her you remember." Liliya shrugged. Wanda bit the inside of her cheek and Wanda grabbed her hand, offering her a small smile. "Wanda, you know that we will do whatever it is that we can to find her. We'll go so far as to calling Celeste down here to helps us. She owes us a visit anyways."
"She's been through so much." Wanda softly sighed. "She's been looking for any sign of Bucky. But he disappeared. She's got to be hurting."
"Celeste is an angel. She's strong. She and Bucky were never meant to fall in love anyways. But fate said otherwise." Liliya softly smiled. "Their story won't be the same as yours and Beth's." Wanda gave the blonde a small smile, and Liliya returned it. That's when their attention snapped towards the door being thrown open, Sage standing there with her phone in her hand as she glanced between the two. Liliya stood up from the table, moving to stand beside of Wanda as she looked at the woman.
Sage had a small smile on her face as she looked between the two. "She found her. Roxanne found Beth."
