THOUGHTS.

TIME SEEMED IRRELEVANT IN YOUR DREAMLAND.

It felt like ages had passed, but at the same time, entering this world felt like it had just happened yesterday.

Plenty of tea parties as well as un-birthday parties flew by, each one more exciting than the one prior.

It was all wonderful, and as perfect as you could imagine, but no matter how wonderful it was...it wasn't quite...right.

In the back of your mind, something told you that no matter how delicious the un-birthday cake, how beautiful the flower's singing, or how cute the talking animals were, that it wasn't real.

And most of you wanted to deny that.

But deep down, you did know that this all wasn't real.

"Even if it isn't real," you told yourself, "I'd much rather be here than where I was before, regardless of this place being real or not."

Because you didn't want to leave your dreamland, even if it was fake. As long as it made you happy, you wanted to stay.

You didn't care about what was happening before, or what was happening outside of this world in the present.

All you cared about was enjoying your delusion that was much better than what you would have had in reality.

What's more, is that when Cheshire, your cat which was now pink and purple striped checked up on you, you refused to listen to anything he had to say about your state outside of dreamland.

Because it didn't apply to you at all. Well, to you in your dreamland, that is.

Besides, when Cheshire first told you about reality, it sounded horrible.

"Your parents are still dead on the floor and stuff, and the house hasn't been cleaned in a while, so I think you should stay here a bit longer." He had reported.

You had agreed to stay in your dream longer, but now he didn't even have to ask you to stay longer.

And you did not at all, ever seem to notice that Cheshire's humanoid form appeared to have had changed from a child, to a teenager.

And neither did you notice the wide smile that spread across his face when you insisted on staying longer in dreamland.

And today, a day like any other day...or was it a day? Was it a new day? Or was it still yesterday...

Perhaps the day never changed...or maybe...oh, well you couldn't be bothered by such thoughts.

There were more important things to think about!

Like what you should wear to your un-birthday party today!

Wait, was it your un-birthday today?

You stopped in your tracks, feet halting on the checkered marble path.

You brought your finger to ponder for a moment, but soon got confused.

"It's been my un-birthday everyday...but then again, do days ever pass? I've never had a birthday party here...is everyday my un-birthday?" You murmured to yourself, a few flowers wilting to the side in an attempt to listen in.

"My!" You realized. "There aren't any calendars here! Perhaps there really are no days, only one day that leads on forever...?"

Now, all of this was starting to cause a lot of confusion in your brain, waking up that thought again.

That thought of your dreamland not being real. The thought that this all wasn't right.

You furrowed your eyebrows together, before taking in a deep breath.

Then you exhaled, and looked up to your right.

Hovering above the right side of your head similar to a cloud, was a thought bubble.

You quickly waved your hand through it, dismissing your earlier thoughts.

Placing a bright smile on your face, you cleared your mind in preparation for the day! Or the endless day? Or the...

"Shhh!" You shushed out loud, harshly pressing your finger to your lips, like a librarian.

The thought quickly evaporated, though it nagged at you somewhere in the back of your mind.

"I think I'll wear a blue dress today." You decided, fluffing out the current green dress you were wearing.

And like magic, two blue ribbons sprung out of nowhere, and wrapped around you like they were wrapping a gift.

A large blue skirt grew from where the ribbons crossed over your waist, then bounced off the skirt of your dress, and formed themselves into a blue ribbon bow on your back.

You smiled at this, before reached out your hand, wrapping your fingers around a tea cup that had appeared out of thin air.

And out of thin air again, tea started filling itself up to the brim inside the once empty tea cup.

You raised the cup to your mouth, taking a sip.

A loud slurping noise brought a 'tsk' from a large flower beside you.

"Y/N, do not slurp your tea! It's very impolite." The chrysanthemum scolded, waving it's lead around like a hand.

"Sorry Miss chrysie!" You giggled.

The chrysanthemum sighed, before letting out a low chuckle.

"All forgiven, sweetie. Now, let me get the door for you." Chrysanthemum wrapped her leaf around the golden door handle that head appeared.

Following the golden door handle, a red door began to form out of sparkles.

With a creaking sound, Chrysanthemum pushed the door open for you.

She lowered her head, as if bowing.

You giggled again, and let go of your tea cup-which floated as you let go, and disappeared.

Taking both of your hands which were now both free, you took your skirt in your hands and curtsied.

The chrysanthemum gave you a warm smile, before shooing you off into the door.

"Hurry now, child!" She called, as you skipped through the door.

You happily laughed to yourself as you skipped down the large hill, covered with small flowers.

Your face lit up as you neared the bottom of the hill, which came to a stop at the front of a pink castle.

Two card knights stood at the door to the castle, and you approached them happily.

"Hello, knights." You greeted, curtsying.

"Good day to you!" They both yelled at the same time, before the door to the castle opened.

"Goodbye!" You called to them, waving, as you entered the pink castle.

When you stepped through, the large ballroom erupted into song.

"A very merry un-birthday!" The crowds chanted, then pointed to you.

"To me!" You sang in delight, clapping your hands together.

"To you!"

"A very merry un-birthday!" They continued to sing.

"For me!" You called back, continuing to clap you hands,

"For you!" The crowd chanted.

A rabbit wearing a large hat hopped towards you, a delicious looking pink cake in his hands.

"Now blow the candle out my dear, and make your wish come true!" The rabbit sang, placing the cake in your hands.

You inhaled deeply, eyes focusing on the large candle resting in the center of the cake.

"A very merry un-birthday to you!" Everyone sang harmoniously.

You blew as hard as you could, clamping your eyes shut as you did.

"I wish to stay here forever!" You wished, as the fire on the candle blew out, erupting into small explosions.

You opened your eyes, and leaned away from the crackling cake.

Everyone in the room waited in anticipation as the candle popped and flickered.

A moment later, large firework erupted loudly into the air, from the candle.

The room then bursted into cheers again, as a long, clothed covered table stretched across the room out of nowhere.

A chair slid itself underneath you, and used it's legs to walk you to the table.

Scooting itself in, you sat at the head of the long table.

Placing the cake on to the table, the pieces of cake stood up, and started to multiply.

They danced down the table, then sat on a plate -which magically appeared-that was placed in front of each person...or thing.

The large plate was left with one big slice of pink cake, for you.

You reached for the fork that appeared beside your plate, but a hand beat you to it.

Cheshire stabbed the fork into your slice of cake, before raising the piece of cake towards you.

"Say 'ahh'" He told you, opening his mouth to say 'ahh'.

"Ahh." You opened your mouth, and he put the fork inside.

You didn't even question how he appeared next to you, because all you cared about was the delicious cake you were tasting.

Then, out of nowhere, came a thought.

How were you tasting the cake if it wasn't real? If it wasn't real...then you weren't actually eating anything.

The sudden thought ran chills down your spine.

If you haven't actually been eating anything...what is happening to you in reality...?
