𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 two sides of the same coin, and Iris West was the ridge which brought the two together and connected them forever. They were but teenagers when they first crossed paths, two victims of an unrequited love for the same young woman, and it was that shared experience that caused their paths to collide in a way they could never have prepared for. Like thieves in the night, the two had stolen one another's hearts, and never sought to give them back.

𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 high school, surviving the strenuous college experience, and excelling in adulthood, Barry Allen and Dianna Genovese never once strayed from the other's embrace; if anything, their nine years together only seemed to strengthen all which held them together. He'd known from the moment he spoke his truth about the night his mother was killed, opened up to her about all he'd seen in regard to the man in yellow, in which he'd been believed undoubtedly rather than dismissed like he'd been by all others, he'd be a fool to not have her by his side for the rest of his lifetime. Beneath a full moon and a crystal clear sky of lambent starlight, Barry Allen asked Dianna Genovese to marry him, and his future was solidified in a halo of glorious light when she said yes.

𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐘𝐄-𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 beneath the grim skies of Starling City, Barry returns home just in time for the famed day in which the Particle Accelerator would finally be turned on; for so long had he waited to witness such an unfathomable event for himself, and his own glee bled into electricity dancing from fiber to fiber within. However, like many things in his life had before, the night he'd lauded for so long did not end up going as planned. A mistake—a glitch in the system—triggered the eruption of the Particle Accelerator, causing it to engulf the whole of Central City in unspeakable energy and a dark cloud that would loom for endless days to come. Many were killed, many were wounded, but many were touched by that energy in a way that would alter their lives forevermore, and he happened to fall among them.

𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 months trapped within a coma's prison of body and mind, Barry Allen woke to a new world. A world where the impossible became anything but, where it seemed he could cross galaxies in the blink of an eye with electrifying speed, where in the midst of a chaotic world, he was presented with challenges even greater than any he'd ever faced.

.・゜-: ✧ Once upon a time, I adored The Flash and the entire Arrowverse but alas, that love kinda died out. But not before I created what might be one of my favorite plots of mine. I don't know, but this concept just... I love it, okay.

.・゜-: ✧ As stated above, Barry and Dianna met in high school and formed a little unrequited love club for their mutual crush on Iris West—although it was a crush they both shared, Dianna would say she was less pathetic about it than Barry was. Obviously, the more time together they spent, the more those feelings for Iris faded and became stronger for one another.

.・゜-: ✧ They were together from sophomore year of high school until the present time in which the story begins, so from age 15 to 24—just shy of a decade.

.・゜-: ✧ She works at CCPD as the forensic psychologist or the sketch artist. Whatever you decide, but it has to involve law enforcement. The job first piqued her interest when she witnessed her father's murder right before her eyes during her years living in Gotham City, and since her father's killer was never caught, she wants to bring victims and families the justice she and her mother didn't get.

.・゜-: ✧ She's very intelligent and finds it very attractive when Barry goes off on one of his nerdy tangents that not many understand.

.・゜-: ✧ He had proposed to her months before the explosion at STAR Labs, and he had no idea she was pregnant. She was planning to tell him the night of the explosion, but it was too late.

.・゜-: ✧ The sex of the baby is undecided. If the baby is a boy, name him Mateo after her late father and if it's a girl, name her Eleanora after his late mother. They certainly seem like the types to honor their lost ones like that.

.・゜-: ✧ Barry's going to feel an immense guilt throughout the entirety of season one and into season two knowing she went through the entire pregnancy and labor without him, despite her doing her best to assure him that apologies aren't necessary for things that can't be helped.

.・゜-: ✧ Her Earth-2 counterpart is dead. Like Earth-1 Dianna's father, she was murdered and the killer was never caught. Earth-2 Barry and Iris are married, spending a great amount of time on the side searching for whoever took their fiancée/friend away from them. (The idea of a friend marrying their dead friend's former partner seems a little sus, yes, but every version of Dianna always makes a point in saying that if anything ever happened to her, there's no one she'd ever want more to take care of her husband than Iris).

.・゜-: ✧ These two will be soft parents. If you need any relationship inspiration for the two of them, they are Fitzsimmons. That's all there is to it. Fitzsimmons.

.・゜-: ✧ Given all Barry has lost in his lifetime, he will be extra protective of these two. Have fun with morphing him into a father, because that's the only thing I regret about not writing this. Show his vulnerabilities, his guilt, his uncertainties of his own worth, and please show his growth throughout the series not only as the Flash, but as a father.
