real life
the film that kayla had chosen, not because she 'wanted' to but because she 'needed' to was nightmare on elm street
no one minded, though. demi was sat between noah and kayla while jack was next to kayla and millie was next to noah.
demi stiffened up upon seeing millie rest her head on noah's shoulder, pretending she was asleep.
kayla gave demi a sympathetic smile and took her hand in her own and gave it a gentle squeeze.
demi sent her bestfriend a thankful smile as kayla pulled demi's head onto her shoulder and rested her own head on demi's.
demi didn't need to look to know that kayla had her eyes closed and was drifting off to sleep.
millie cleared her throat, removing her head from noah's shoulder. kayla did the same, sending a glare millie's way.
demi hit kayla slightly as millie noticed the glare. "can we girls have a private chat? mimi's room?"
kayla straightened her clothes and stood up. she grabbed demi's hand and forced her to stand.
demi looked at sadie in confusion, earning a shrug. "only i can call her mimi, got it?" kayla hissed at millie.
millie raised her hands and started to walk up stairs, sophia, sadie, demi and kayla following her.
once again, kayla took the wrong left. demi felt herself start to smile as she head a loud thump and a yelp.
"why have you got a problem with me today, huh?!" demi could hear kayla.
"come on, kayls." demi stated softly, grabbing her hand to make sure she doesn't bump into anything else.
the second they get into demi's room the door is slammed shut. the door scraping against kayla's arm.
"awh, for fucks sake! i fucking hate doors!" kayla screamed whilst inching her face closer to the door handle.
kayla missed her footing and hit her nose on the handle, causing to her to fall flat on her ass yet again.
demi, once again, let out a loud laugh, helping kayla stand up while millie watched them with a glare.
millie crossed her arms, taking a seat on the floor and gestured for them to join her.
demi took a seat next kayla, as she felt more vulnerable on her own. "i have to confess something." millie admitted, sheepishly playing with her hands.
"i think i have a crush on noah." millie confessed, rushing it all out. kayla scoffed, "you think?" kayla raised her arms in the air dramatically.
demi took in a deep breath. "when did you realise?" she wondered quietly, her eyes never leaving the floor.
sadie, kayla and sophia give demi a look of sympathy. "just now." millie answered, whilst staring straight at demi, making demi nod.
demi cleared her throat. "hate to leave right now, but i sort of left the boys downstairs on my birthday." her voice broke and she rushed out, followed by sadie.
sadie pulled her into a hug, wiping demi's tears. "no crying on your birthday, okay?"
demi nodded slightly. "sorry." she apologised, squeezing the life out of sadie.
"don't be sorry. tomorrow, you, kayla, sophia and i can sit and watch sad movies with ice cream and cry all day?" sadie offered making demi chuckle.
"let's go join the boys." demi whispered, dragging sadie down the stairs.
demi and sadie took a seat on the smaller couch, demi resting her head on sadie's shoulder while sadie's arm was wrapped around demi.
demi pursed her lips. "i want to bake cookies." she muttered to sadie as the boys had finished the movie.
"yay! cookies!" gaten yelled excitedly. sadie glared. "leave the baking to demi and i." sadie stated, grabbing demi's hand.
"but i'm the oldest." chosen muttered making sadie sigh. "as much as we love you, it's demi's birthday."
the two enter the kitchen while the boys put on high school musical. "so, is this the first time you've cried over a crush?"
glancing at sadie with furrowed eyebrows, demi can't help the heat rising to her cheeks.
"it's my first crush, too." she muttered making sadie chuckle. "what? no way!"
demi nodded. "yes way!" jeremy entered the kitchen. "mum?" he muttered making demi look at him.
"yes, child?" she smiled softly. "firstly: your eyes are red, have you been crying? and secondly: jack bit me."
ignoring jeremy's question, demi walked into the living room, a hard glare on her face.
"sit down." she instructed and they all sat. "jack." she turned to him. jack went wide eye.
"did you or did you not bite jeremy?" she wondered in a motherly tone.
jack slowly nodded. demi raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. she pursed her lips and jack knew what was coming.
jack rushed in his pocket and threw his phone at her, which she caught. "good catch." will mused, his camera still out.
will glanced at demi. "are you alright?" he wondered making everyone go silent.
demi chuckled. "i'm fine." she muttered, walking back to the kitchen where sadie was finishing up.
will followed. "no, you've been crying." he pointed out making demi stiffen.
"no, you're seeing things." she dismissed, walking away from will. "no, i'm not!" he yelled, trying to catch up with his younger sister.
"yes, you are!" demi yelled back, turning to face will. sadie noticed the tears returning to her eyes and immediately distracted the boys.
will put his camera down. "it's okay to cry." he muttered, pulling her in for a hug.
"i'm not crying." she told him, though tears were escaping her eyes.
"what is it?" he wondered softly, sitting them both at the dinner table.
fortunately, the oven went off meaning the cookies were done. demi got up and inched towards it, opening the oven and taking the tray out, burning her hands as she done it.
after putting the tray down she put her hands under the cold water. "you stupid bitch." will laughed, putting the cookies onto a plate.
demi laughed along. "why are you only stupid when you're crying or sad?" demi shrugged, putting her hair in a ponytail.
"son of a bitch." she hissed, making will grab a bandage so she could wrap up both her hands.
once both hands were wrapped, she picked up the plate of cookies. she entered the living room and walked towards the stairs. "cookies!"
immediately, kayla's voice was heard, "hell fucking yes!"
