THERE WERE ALWAYS TOO MANY VARIABLES IN GABRIELA SABINI'S LIFE. between her job, her friends, her boyfriend (their status is permanently complicated),  her lack of free-time, her love life all in all, her projects, how she presented herself, straight down to what she wears and where she goes and what she eats. it has always been too complicated, there have always been too many variables; it's why she became a scientist. not only would being a scientist enable her to sort out the variables, but it enabled her to create her own. being a scientist gave her control, it made her feel like she was just a tiny bit in control of her entire fucked up life.

so, she cut out a few of the variables, and did her best to move on. gabriela convinced herself that she had never even been a fan of that mushy stuff. it disgusted her, even three years after her last romance. who knew a space trip would try to rekindle a burnt out flame? who knew that flame would spark a flame that was more than a simple romance? who knew they would wind up saving the world together- alongside third, fourth, and fifth wheels? who knew everything would fall apart?
