NOORA and Lani entered Nissen's courtyard; smiled spread across their painted lips. The blonde had told the brunette that her and William had planned on moving in together, resulting in a squeal from Lani, as well as her questioning her about a wedding.

Lani was happy Noora and William had made up and patched things up. Now all the couple had to worry about was William and his hearing. She hoped they'd drop the charges, but in all reality having your head smashed by a guy you don't like; common sense you would take them to court. And that's how he felt.

The two girls spotted their best friends who quieted down upon seeing the blonde. Lani and Noora exchanged looks of confusion with one another.

"Why did you guys stop talking?" Noora asked with an awkward smile.

"Have you received a letter from the police?" Eva asked hesitantly glancing between both girls.

"Nei." Noora said shaking her head.

"I was with Chris this weekend. PapΓ‘ asked for me to come home straight away though..." Lani explained with furrowed brows. "Have you guys?"

Vilde glanced to Eva and sighed, "We've been summoned for questioning about the bus party fight. They called our parents and everything."

"Mom snapped completely." Chris winced.

"Mine too."

Lani's heart hammered in her chest as she thought about what her father was going to say. What if he demanded she and Chris break up? What if she wasn't allowed to go out with her best friends anymore? What if they moved? All these thoughts swarmed the brunette's head.

"Why weren't we summoned?" Noora asked pointing between her and Lani.

"Probably because you guys left before the police arrived. Lani left with her brother, remember?" Vilde explained. "And they took our names. They came across the video on the internet. The police reported the case themselves."

Lani shook her head, "Fuck." She cursed.

"But it's good that you weren't summoned, so you won't have to testify against William. Though Chris will be there." Eva said gently to the two girls.

"Chris?" Lani asked, wide eyed looking to the strawberry blonde.

Sana sighed, "He didn't tell you?"

Lani shook her head, "Nei!"

"Since he started it, he has to go." Chris explained with a frown.

Noora looked between her best friends, "Are you guys going to testify against them?" She asked.

The girls looked between one another hesitantly. Eva gnawed on her lip and mumbled, "Yeah." Lani's eyes met with hers. Disbelief written on her features. "What should we do? We can't lie to the police."

"We can refuse to say anything." Sana shrugged looking to Eva.

"Yeah, we have the right to remain silent." Chris nodded. "Anyways, they can't convict Chris nor William based on just that video." The girls looked to Chris with raised brows. "The, um, quality was bad and it's out of, uh, focus." She tried to assure the two.

"We really have to think this through carefully. He could go to prison for six months. Chris could get charged heavily too. I googled it." Vilde explained. "It all started with William doing something good."

"How so?" Eva asked.

"This winter, William beat up a Yakuza guy for calling Rebekah Schistad and Lani, cheap whores." Vilde said hesitantly looking to her best friend.

"His mom?" Lani frowned, her chest ached at the mention of Chris' late mother.

Vilde nodded, "Yeah. In revenge, the Yakuza guys beat up three Penetrator guys. And William did nothing. But then they beat up Jonas. And it was Chris and Isak who planned to beat up Yakuza that night. William didn't know anything about it. But then he ended up having to get back at them." She further explained.

"Can't we just tell them this story instead?" Eva asked the girls.

"I don't think that's how it works. They just want to know who smashed the bottle."

"Why did William smash that bottle, Noora?" Sana asked the quiet blonde.

"Why?"

"Yes."

"He smashed it because he felt it was his fault. The Yakuza guys beat up his best friends. He's extremely loyal to the people he loves. So he did it because... He doesn't trust any adult to take responsibility, because there's never been any adults who took responsibility for him." Noora explained, a frown graced her reddened lips. "He also has a bit of a temper."

"They both do." Lani scoffed.

The four looked to the two and smiled softly.

"I say we keep our mouths shut at the questioning." Sana proposed confidently.

"I agree." Vilde nodded.

"Okay, let's do it."

"Do you think Isak, Jonas and ElΓas will say anything?"

"No, it was them who helped." Eva shook her head at Sana's questioned.

"The only thing that could fuck it all up, is if the Yakuza guys testify against them."

LANI exited through Nissen's courtyard gate, walking down the sidewalk to her house. Her brother had texted her saying he had plans with Isak and Jonas that evening. Throughout the day her nerves hadn't faded away, in fact they worsened as the thought of her going home to an angered Roy Santiago played through her mind.

She was deep in her thoughts, she hadn't heard the voice across from her calling her name.

"Lan!" Chris' car pulled up next to her. "Lani."

The brunette blinked and looked to her left seeing Chris looking through his opened passenger window a look of concern on his features.

"I've been calling you for ten minutes." He chuckled his signature smile on full display, "I'll drive you home." Lani looked down the sidewalk then to her boyfriend. "I have candy, princess." He smirked looking to the beautiful brunette.

With a sigh she entered the sleek Mercedes.

Chris leaned over and hovered over her cheek wanting a kiss from her. He furrowed his brows as she kept her gaze on her hands.

"What's wrong?" He asked. "I wasn't lying I do have candy for you, well a lollipop--"

"Why didn't you tell me you have a hearing with William?" Her green orbs met with his hazel ones.

Chris' smirk fell, as he sat back in his seat. "How did you--"

"The girls got letters from the police, and phone calls." She explained hesitantly, eyeing his features. "They have to testify." She turned on the passenger seat facing Christoffer. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Chris gnawed on his lip, "I didn't want to worry you."

"You didn't want to worry me?" She repeated with a scoff. "So, what were you planning on telling me the day of? Would you even tell me if the girls hadn't been involved?" Chris avoided her eyes and looked out the windshield.

"Can we not do this now?" He pleaded with a groan.

"Chris you can go to jail!" She exclaimed. "Your dad is already on your case--"

"It's not that big of a deal okay? Drop it." He said sternly, turning the ignition of his car back on. Lani glared at him, she pulled the keys from the car. "Lan--"

"No! You always do that. You expect me to talk to you when I'm upset, yet when something's bothering you, you blow it off."

Chris pinched the bridge of his nose, "Because I don't care what happens to me!" He shouted at the brunette. Lani jumped in her seat. "It's not like it's the first time I've gotten into shit with them. This is just another little mark up on my report." He said in a more calmer tone.

"Having a criminal record doesn't look good for a job application, Chris." She scolded, her eyes softened seeing him fiddle with the family ring on his finger; that his mother had wanted to give him when he turned eighteen. "I know you think that because of everything you've done, you can't change. But you have, and I know she'd be so proud of you." She said softly, placing her hand over his. Chris' regretful orbs met with hers.

"How?" He asked quietly, resembling a childlike manner.

"Because I'm proud of you."

Chris' lips twitched upwards at the words that left her lips. He brought her interlocked hand up to his lips and kissed the back of the soft surface.

"Thank you." He murmured genuinely. Parting his lips he looked into the girl he love's eyes, his heartbeat now echoed in his ears. As he thought about his next words carefully. The numerous outcomes it would have now and in the long run. Taking a deep breath in, his eyes locked on her curious and confused emerald orbs. He began "I--I lo--" A buzzing sound cut off Chris.

Lani glanced down seeing a text from her father. "Shoot. I have to get home, now." She murmured.

Chris cleared his throat and nodded, pulling away he started his car once more. Pulling away from the sidewalk he drove the brunette home.

LANI hesitantly entered her house. Wincing as the door shut behind her loudly with a creak. She entered further into her house seeing her father sitting at the dinning table looking down at his hands, a letter was placed in them.

With a sigh she dropped her bag next to her feet. Walking over to her father she began, "Before you yell at me just know I didn't know a fight was going to start. And it isn't Chris' fault, nor Williams." She rambled. "It was the Yakuza guys- trust me weird name I know. But they were the ones who came onto them and beat them up. Reason why Chris and them got revenge then they were going after Jonas and so it became this big thing and I know this won't look good on a college application or a job, but-"

"What are you talking about?"

Lani pursed her lips, "What are you talking about...?" She raised a brow in question.

Roy stood to his feet and placed the letter in his daughter's hand. She furrowed her brows looking down at the white paper. The address catching her eyes instantly in the left hand corner, California's Medical Facility.

She parted her lips looking up at her father whose worried and sad eyes met with hers.

She opened the letter, and skimmed through the paper. Reading quietly to herself.

Her eyes breamed with tears, as her hands clutched the sheet in her hands.

Roy's chest constricted looking down at his stunned daughter. He wrapped his arms around his daughter's neck kissing her temple, tears breamed the older man's eyes.

"It'll be okay. We'll think of something." He murmured, reassuring himself more so then her. Lani stood frozen, as tears streamed down her cheeks. "We have to. There has to be something."
