ย ย ย ย "WHAT about this?" Chris asked holding up a black-silk dress shirt to the brunette.
Lani tilted her head to the right and shook her head. "He isn't into dressy things. He literally has two dress shirts he wears to work. He's more of a leather jacket kind of guy. Or a bottle of Bourbon." She murmured sorting through the hanging shirts.
The duo had spent the day shopping for her father's upcoming forty-second birthday coming up that week. She had explained to Chris that she didn't mind going alone only for Chris to insist to join her. He had been more clingy then normal which surprised Lani slightly, not that she minded. She still hadn't told anyone about her new relationship, neither had Chris. Respectfully because Lani had asked him to keep it quiet for the time being.
"Okay well, why don't we go to YSL? They just came out with a new line. My cousin had told me, you remember Astra right?" Chris rambled, taking her smaller hand in his and dragging her towards the exit. Lani parted her lips and nodded. "When she was modelling for them she had said the new line for men looks phenomenal."
"Chris." Lani began.
"Then again we could always check Gucci, they had some really good things." He rambled to himself, running a hand through his brown locks.
"Chris." Lani came to a halt in the middle of the hallway of the mall. Chris furrowed his brows, worry swam through his hazel orbs. "That sounds great but it's super expensive-"
"No, no. Don't worry." He assured the brunette.
Lani shook her head, "Chris, I appreciate all this, but-" Chris frowned at the brunette's words. "What's going on?" She asked softly.
Chris sighed and looked around the duo, glaring slightly at the people who walked by glancing to the two.
"I just want your dad to like me." He murmured.
Lani smiled softly, "He does." Chris raised a perfectly arched brow to the beautiful girl. "Okay, he's starting to like the idea of you. Look, buying him a over priced jacket or shirt isn't going to win him over. Why are you stressing so hard over this? He won't care."
Chris nodded, "I just want him to know I'm not like my father."
Lani gnawed on her lip. She took his hand in her own and rubbed her thumb across his knuckles, "He knows that. He is like that with everyone."
"He doesn't do that with Daniel." He muttered.
Lani giggled and shook her head. "Okay, maybe not everyone." Standing on her toes she pressed her lips against his cheek. "He'll warm up to you, he already is. How is everything with your papรก?"
Chris sighed and shrugged, "Still not listening to me and doing whatever he can for the business."
Lani frowned, "Have you told him what you wanted?"
Chris scoffed. "Like he'd listen."
"Well, whatever you end up doing I know somewhere deep down he'll be proud of you. Just like I am and will be."
Chris' cheeks tinted pink. Suppressing a smile he said, "Bourbon it is."

ย ย ย ย ย LANI walked down Hartvig Nissen's hallway to her locker. She had made sure to call Noora earlier that morning to check in on the blonde who said she would be missing school because she wasn't feeling well. She wished she could tell William everything for her best friend but she knew it wasn't her place to do so.
She watched quite a bit of Nancy Drew, Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, etc. To know how to handle black mail, but Noora wasn't to found of the idea of kidnapping William's brother and torturing him in her basement.
Hands wrapped themselves around her waist starling her, "What the-" She began only to be met with wide and amused hazel eyes. Lani's cheeks tinted pink as she noticed students were watching the duo, she shrugged the boy's hands off.
Chris frowned at the brunette's movements. He watched as she grabbed her books from her locker, glancing around them every so often. Turning his head he noticed students watching the two with curious eyes.
Was she embarrassed of being with him? He thought to himself. They were always close when they were friends, were they still friends? He rubbed the bridge of his nose, as his insecure thoughts swarmed his mind. They were together, he asked her to give him a chance and she agreed. That meant they were an item, right? He thought.
Snapping out of his consuming thoughts he smiled to the brunette. "So, what time do I come by on Saturday, princess?"
Lani gnawed on her lip, "Uh, six would be good."
Chris nodded slowly, "Okay... What are you doing Friday?"
Lani parted her lips; doctors appointment. "Uh, not much. Probably run a few errands then hand out with Noora."
Chris nodded, "How is blondie? I haven't seen her around lately."
"Why? What did you hear?" Lani rushed out with worried green orbs.
Chris scrunched up his nose, "Uh, nothing. just haven't seen her with your buss. Even William texted me asking if I've seen her." He chuckled.
Lani nodded, "Uh, yeah. She's sick, so she won't be in today."
Chris nodded, "Yeah, I know. William skipped today, he's going over to see her."
Lani widened her eyes shutting her locker. "What?!" She exclaimed, startling the boy in front of her. "I mean, he is? But she's sick." Chris shrugged not understanding what the big deal was. "He'll um, yanno catch a cold too."
Chris smirked, "Pretty sure they'll be to busy to care." He raised a suggestive brow. Lani scrunched up her nose, "I'm kidding. But what's the big deal, Lan?" He questioned.
"Nothing's the big deal, It's-I just think he should give her some space." She stammered.
Chris furrowed his brows. Why did she not want the two to be together? Was she now interested in William? Did they have something he and Noora didn't know about? He thought to himself bitterly.
"Because she's sick..." He trailed off.
Lani nodded, "Exactly. Sick."
The bell chimed, signalling the two they had class, glancing around the hall seeing students rush to their next class. Lani stood on her toes and pressed her lips against her boyfriend's cheek. "Walk me to class?" She asked sweetly.
Chris nodded, "Sure." Wrapping an arm securely around her waist he walked the brunette to her next class. Casually glaring at the student body who eyed his girl.
ย ย ย ย LANI entered Noora's apartment complex behind Eskild. A frown was worn on the young man's face as he escorted her towards the blonde feminist's bedroom.
"She hasn't left?" Lani asked softly.
Eskild shook his head, "Nei. We tried giving her food but she won't eat."
Lani nodded coming to a halt in front of Noora's door. Eskild nodded to Lani and raised his hand knocking on the blonde's door.
"Noora, uh, the exotic beauty is here to see you."
Lani rolled her eyes at the nickname awaiting a response from her best friend. Only to be met with silence.
"Noora..." Lani pressed. "I just wanna talk."
A click was heard, Noora allowed her best friend in shutting the door in Eskild's face as he parted his lips.
Lani sat beside the blonde. Noora sniffled sitting beside the brunette, Lani wrapped her arms around Noora's shoulders.
"You'll be okay." She mumbled into her blonde hair.
"I-I don't know what t-to do anymore." She whimpered into the brunette's neck. "I wanted to tell William, but I-I know he'll do something he'd regret. And-and I don't want him to get hurt or lose his relationship with his brother."
Lani frowned at the blonde's words. "He needs to know, Noora. One way or another he will find out, and you should be the one to tell him." She rubbed her back gently. Noora nodded, "You also need to tell the other's girls."
"I-I can't." She shook her head pulling away from the brunette.
"Yes you can. If you tell them, I'll tell the about me." She breathed out.
Noora's watery eyes met with Lani's green ones. "You would?" She whispered.
Lani swallowed a lump in her throat, "We'll be okay. And you and I both know they'll understand."
"Tak, Lani." Noora mumbled hugging the brunette.

ย ย ย ย LANI sat on Eva Mohn's love-seat, awaiting the arrival of their blonde best friend. The five girls had been setting up to celebrate Constitution Day, the five of them together. Chris sat beside her good friend and held up a red frosted cupcake made by none other than Vilde Hellerud.
With a smile the brunette took the pastry and began devouring it. The two girls watched as Sana, Eva and Vilde finished the finishing touches of the party.
"You missed a spot." Chris pointed to the side of the cupcake, Vilde had been frosting.
"Oh, tak!" Vilde's happy voice echoed through their ears.
Sana raised a brow to Chris and Lani who both sat doing nothing. Chris innocently smiled and shrugged finishing off her third cupcake.
"Noora is here!" Eva announced looking from the living room window to her best friend's. "William, dropped her off."
Lani gnawed on her lip and nodded. "That's good."
"Don't think we forgot about that little Instagram post Chris posted." Sana smirked to the brunette who stood on her feet walking to the front door.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"What did I post?" Chris asked, with wide eyes frosting covered her upper lip.
"Not you." Vilde threw a hand towel to the brunette, who nodded.
Lani rolled her eyes at her best friends and unlocked the front door allowing the blonde in. "Hei." She smiled warmly to Noora.
"Happy Constitution Day!" The girls cheered from behind Lani who jumped at the girls tones, alongside Noora.
"Happy Constitution day." Noora greeted quietly.
The girls looked to the blonde who stood outside awkwardly and quietly.
"New dress?" Vilde asked trying to make conversation.
"Let's eat." Lani proposed grasping Noora's hand in her's dragging her inside the house.
"Here here!" Chris chanted skipping after the two girls.
The girls sat around Eva's dinning table, digging into the food in front of them all.
"Cheers again! Oh my god." Eva cheered raising her glass to her best friends.
"The 17th of May is my favourite day! You start the day with alcohol, you end the day with alcohol." Vilde joked. "You spend the entire day with alcohol."
"How much ice cream do you eat during the 17th of May?
"How much ice cream?" Eva furrowed her brows.
"Ice cream or sausages." Vilde questioned.
"I eat 15." Chris shrugged nonchalantly.
"15?!" Vilde exclaimed in disbelief.
Lani tuned out her friends glancing to her orange juice that filled her glass cup. She glanced to Noora who sat quietly looking down at her plate.
"Oh! Oh! Cheers to you." Eva raised her glass to Noora, alerting the two girls.
"Yeah, cheers to you! Finish that glass."
Vilde looked to the two girls who sat quietly and frowned. "Should I hand you both some food?"
"No, thanks." Noora shook her head at the kind offer. "I have a bit of a stomach ache today."
Lani shook her head and sipped on her orange juice. To say she was nervous would be an understatement.
Eva cleared her throat standing to her feet. The girls looked up at the strawberry blonde. "It's so nice that you could all come to my 17th of May breakfast today. I love you all. You know that, that's not why I'm giving a speech. I want to say, Noora. Fucking hell, how clever you are. I thought I should read your article. As some kind of speech for today. Youthful freedom and responsibility. By Noora Amalie Sรฆtre. 17 years old. Norwegian youth spend more than four hours a day on social media, according to a study. Some believe it's a waste of time, but I understand why we do it very well. Society is straightforward on social media. Where you can just log off, or block everything you don't like. Today, we celebrate our constitution. It says that everyone has equal rights, and that humas are born free and shall remain free. Free to be on social media for four hours. Free to get wasted and fuck around. Free to use 900.000 for a Russ bus. Norway isn't the same country as it was when the Constitution was written. Norwegian society is constantly developing."
Lani listened intently to her best friend's speech. She glanced to Noora who sat with parted lips. Lani furrowed her brows at the blonde's face.
"Today, thousands of refugees are coming into Europe in search of a place to live. Those are people from a different culture than us. People whose values we may disagree with. Some are afraid they will threaten our Norwegian values. It would have been best to have the Facebook function to just block them. But that's not how it goes. So, on this day when we celebrate our Constitution. We shall remember what we celebrate. If we believe in the values it is based on. If we agree with the idea that all people should be free and have equal rights. It's not our responsibility to fight to persevere the values for all people. It's not there to open doors to strangers who want to threaten our values. But it's there to not open the doors for them. We live in a society because we need each other. People need people. It can be tiring to deal with others. Especially the ones you disagree with. Those who think differently from you. Whether some are from another culture, or a girl who's a lame Facebook friend from elementary school. In a peaceful society with equal rights, we have to manage to listen to, and try to understand each other. Perhaps it's easier to understand if we focus on what we have in common, rather than the differences. Look for what we agree with, instead of what we disagree with. Maybe if we see the worst in others, it is exactly that what they will show us. We have the right to waste four hours on social media every day. Because some before us have fought for the freedom to do so. Soon it's us who will take over this country. It's up to us which values we live by in the future. I hope equal rights and freedom for all the people of this world is a battle we are ready to take on. Completely serious. If not we, who are raised in the world's most free and richest country. If not we choose generosity, patience, and openness. If not we choose to look for and believe in the good in each other. If not we can fight for righteousness. Then who would be able to do it?"
The girls looked over to Noora. "What's wrong?" Eva asked looking to the blonde with a frown. Lani placed her hand on Noora's who looked down at her.
"Noora..." Lani trailed off.
"I think I was raped by William's brother."
