LANI walked with her father out of the doctor's office in silence. The brunette had a follow up appointment; which was only because her father wanted more information on what was happening and what they would have to do to get rid of his daughter's chances of becoming ill sooner rather than later.

Truth is Roy wasn't as mad as he was when he had found out, from experience he knew that pushing his daughter away instead of helping her would only be history repeating itself. He knew like her mother she hated asking for help and asking the people she loved in on her problems. But he didn't care, he wasn't going to lose his daughter so soon. And he would do anything to keep her alive and safe, and that is what he is determined to do.

"Want something to eat, doll?" Roy's gruff voice echoed through Lani's ears. The brunette nodded hearing her stomach growl, "Did you eat this morning?" He asked, not caring if he was pestering her to much.

"A granola bar." She admitted sheepishly.

Roy sighed seeing Java Jones down the street from them, "You know you need to be eating more then just a breakfast bar." He rubbed the bridge of his nose.

Lani frowned, "Can we go get something to eat? Father daughter time?" She proposed with a small smile.

Roy smiled down at his daughter and nodded, wrapping his arm around her shoulders dragging her across the street down to the coffee shop.

The two came to a stop seeing a familiar mop of brunette hair exiting the shop a scowl present on his angelic features.

Roy smiled at the young man, "Christoffer." Roy greeted startling the teenage boy.

Chris widened his eyes seeing Roy and Leilani Santiago, "Uh, Hallo." He nodded with a tight smile.

Lani furrowed her brows, "Hei, how are you? I texted you." She giggled.

"Uh, good, yeah just getting something to drink." Chris stammered nodding to the two who eyed him curiously.

"Is everything-" Lani began.

"Roy." A familiar voice echoed behind the teen boy, who cursed under his breath. "Leilani." The figure approached them standing next to an irritated Christoffer.

"Erike." Roy nodded to the man then to the woman perched on his arm, "How are you both this fine afternoon?"

Lani tightly smiled to the two glaring slightly to the man, "Hei." She nodded, glancing to Chris who kept his eyes narrowed on the pavement.

"We're doing well, and you two?" Erike asked, Anna nodded to the two with a smile.

"Good, just grabbing something to eat on our way home." Roy nodded to the man.

"Ah, where did you both come from?" Erike asked, raising a brow to the two. Lani shifted on her feet, uncomfortable with the topic and seeing the man who forced his son to stop being friends with her.

"Father, we should be heading home. If we are to make it for dinner, Brien said it would be ready by now." Chris said firmly, his hazel eyes looked to Lani apologetically.

"Brien can wait." Anna shook off her step-son's request. "Actually, why don't you two join us?" She smiled kindly to the two.

Erike and Chris narrowed their eyes at the woman. Roy glanced to his daughter who fiddled with her mother's necklace. "Uh, you know we were just gonna grab a little something then head home. We don't want to impose-" Roy shook his head.

"Nonsense, it would be our pleasure to have you both, especially a friend of Christoffer's." Anna added on.

Erike looked from his son to the brunette who glanced to him every so often, "That does sound like a great idea Anna. Roy, Lani due come." Roy parted his lips to refuse, "As your boss I encourage you."

Lani gnawed on her lip, what did him being her father's boss have to do with being invited to dinner; did he not realize they didn't want to go over? She thought to herself.

"I'm sure they have better things to do, father." Chris denied looking up at his father with narrowed eyes.

"Nonsense, Christoffer." Erike ignored his son's burning glare and nodded to the two. "We shall meet you at the manor; I'm sure Leilani knows the way?" He nodded to the brunette who swallowed thickly. "Splendid, we shall see you both there." With that Erike and Anna made their way over to the sleek black limo parked in front of the coffee shop.

"I'm sorry." Chris apologized to the two Santiago's.

"Christoffer!" Anna shouted to the boy, who nodded to the two and hurriedly made his way to the car.

"This should be interesting." Roy muttered looking down to his daughter who sighed.

"SO, Lani how is school?" Anna asked the brunette who twirled her fork around her food.

Lani looked up seeing Anna, and Erike both eyeing her. Chris sat to her right keeping his eyes glued to his plate. Roy glanced around the four with curious eyes. "Uh, good." She nodded to the woman.

"And your grades?" Erike asked.

"Mostly 6." She nodded to the older man.

"Wow, that's impressive." Erike nodded, he looked over to Christoffer who sipped on his water quietly. "Chris is at 4, if he spent less time with that bus of his and more on his work I'm sure he'd be doing well."

Chris sunk in his seat, Lani frowned. She intertwined her hand with Chris' shocking the boy slightly; soon relaxing at the feeling of her warm hand. "I'm in a russ bus myself." She piped up, Chris glanced to the brunette wondering where she was going with the topic. "I don't think that has anything to do with his grades. More so the teachers, some of which aren't very descriptive with what they want done. Majority of the time they just hand out work and expect us to know everything, where as some learn at a different rate and pace than other's. And shouldn't be ridiculed any less from someone who gets a higher grade than them." She rambled.

Erike and Anna parted their lips at the brunette, whereas Roy wore a proud smirk. Chris looked wide eyed to Lani who smiled kindly to the two, squeezing Chris' hand reassuring him it was okay.

"Well, then, perhaps you're right." Erike tightly smiled to the brunette who stood up for his son. "Or perhaps if Christoffer put in as much energy as he does when it comes to partying and girls; he'd be learning at a faster pace."

Lani frowned glancing to Chris who glared at his plate. A moment of awkward silence passed, the only sounds that were heard were the utensils hitting the glass plates before the five.

"Roy how's that assignment coming? Have we heard anything from the new investors?" Erike asked the man across from him.

Roy cleared his throat, bringing his napkin to his lips. "Uh, no. We are still waiting for their call back."

Erike pursed his lips and nodded. The male glanced to the two teens who sat close to one another, silently eating. He eyed the necklace that hung around Lani's neck, the familiar silver chain catching his icy blue eyes.

"I don't mean to be forward but how are you two?" Erike asked the two Santiago's who furrowed their brows in confusion, "My apologies, I mean how are you dealing with the loss of the lovely Karoline?" Anna glanced between both men seeing one who had paled at the mention of the woman's name and her husband who wore a look of feigned innocence.

"Who?" She asked in confusion.

"Father." Chris warned with a glare.

"Just a question, Christoffer. Must be hard, from what I remember you two were inseparable back then." Erike explained, Roy clenched his jaw. Lani parted her lips reaching for her father's hand.

"As were you." Roy retorted, green meeting blue.

"Were we?" Erike feigned confusion, "Ah, high school, such a blur. The drama, friends, relationships." He sighed, Chris tightened his grip on Lani's smaller hand. "The ones we think we love at such a young age; turns out it is just a phase." He pointedly said, a loud clattering sound was heard through the dinning room. The four looked over to an angered Christoffer who had dropped fork and knife on his plate. Brien stopped in her tracks looking to the teen with worried doe eyes.

"Excuse me." He gritted out standing to his feet and exiting the room quickly. Brien watched the brunette boy hastily exit the room.

Lani parted her lips, "Was it something I said?" Erike asked his wife who shrugged.

Lani glanced to her father who nodded discreetly, a glare still prominent on his features as he eyed the male across from them.

"May I use the restroom?" She asked softly, earning a nod from Anna.

Brien watched from the side of the room with wide eyes, "Gossip Girl 2.0." She whispered to herself.

"What was that Brien?" Erike asked the woman with a raised brow.

"Nothing, Sir, I go get more wine." She excused herself.

Lani walked up the staircase to Christoffer's bedroom, where she assumed he'd be at. She knocked on the door softly, only to be met with sniffles. Lani frowned and placed her hand on the door knob; twisting it revealing it was unlocked.

She quickly made her way over to Chris who sat on his bed, she wrapped her arms around the boy's shoulders.

The two sat in silence, as he began to calm down wiping away at his eyes.

"You okay?" She asked softly.

"Fine." His scratchy voice answered.

"You're not." She denied shaking her head. "Why did you get upset? Was it about the whole high school thing?" She asked.

Chris clenched his jaw, "He thinks because the girl he loved chose someone else, the same thing will happen to me. That I'm not capable of loving someone because of all the shit I've done. That I can't be saved."

Lani frowned, "You're capable of love. You've proven that, and I know you can be saved." She said firmly, glancing down to the boys lips subconsciously.

Chris looked up meeting her green irises that he loved. "Do you really believe that?" He asked quietly, their faces mere inches away from one another.

"Anyone who is capable of love, is capable of being saved." She whispered back to the hazel eyed boy.

The two leant into one another, Lani's body reacting as if on instinct, her heart acting before her mind. And before she knew it soft lips were placed against her own. She fluttered her eyes shut at the feeling; it was euphoric.

Chris placed his hand on her hip gently, his other hand on the side of her cheek deepening the kiss. Lani brought her hands up to the collar of his dress shirt, gripping the material tightly. Chris tightened his grip on her hip, releasing a soft moan from Lani's throat.

Chris laid her down on her back, moving his hand from her cheek down beside her head steadying himself as he hovered over her. Continuing to fight for dominance against her plump lips.

Their minds were foggy, and blurred; but one thing was for sure, they craved one another.

Lani bit on his bottom lip, tugging on the soft surface. Receiving a low hum from the boy; their tongues battled for dominance as the continued to kiss one another longingly and intensely. Lani unbuttoned the black fabric with shaky hands, tracing her finger tips against Chris' toned chest.

Chris gripped her waist as he kissed down her chin to her neck, leaving wet kisses along the soft surface. Lani moaned softly gripping his soft brown locks between her fingers, pulling every so often feeling his feather light touch electrify her body. As if with one touch he was waking up every molecule up inside of her.

A vibration from the brunette's phone alerted the two. Lani widened her eyes and sat up pushing the boy away, her chest heaved as she grabbed her phone looking down seeing a text from Noora. Chris watched with furrowed brows.

"Oh my, God." She whispered, fixing her now dishevelled hair.

Chris frowned at the brunette's movements, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable, I-I thought you wanted- I'm sorry." He rambled standing to his feet making his way over to Lani.

Lani held her hands out in front of her and shook her head, "No, um, I-I have to go. I'm sorry." She apologized avoiding his burning gaze, as she quickly made her way down the stairs to the dinning room.

"Dad." She spoke up seeing both men glaring at one another, Anna watching with wide eyes.

"We're leaving." Roy announced, standing to his feet. "Thank you, for dinner." He thanked the two, then nodded to Brien. The older man grabbed his daughter's forearm and dragged her to the front door of the manor.

"Lani!" Chris' voice echoed through the house, stumbling down the staircase. Roy turned to face the boy who looked like a mess, his hair tossed and shirt unbuttoned. Roy looked to his daughter who parted her lips and eyed Christoffer in her spot.

"What's-" Erike began walking to the foyer of the house, coming to a halt seeing Roy and Lani stopped at the front door, his son on their staircase his hair messy and shirt undone. He looked between Lani and Chris, clenching his jaw.

"We're leaving, right now." Roy repeated, dragging Lani out of the Schistad Manor.
