LANI walked down the halls of Nissen to their cafeteria. A lot has happened throughout the break. William and Lani had gotten closer, she had been helping him secretly to talk to Noora. She knew William wasn't like the other Penetrators, she felt like if he didn't care for Noora truly, he wouldn't try so hard; no one would. Eva and Jonas had broken up and become 'best friends' as Eva puts it. Lani knew it was a load of bullshit, seeing as though they both still loved one another and Eva was pretending like it was all okay, confusing her and Noora immensely.
Lani and Chris had gotten back in contact, making the two even more closer then before. She had invited him over the break to spend time with her family which he didn't hesitate in accepting the invite. She still wanted to know more about his personal life; when she would bring it up he'd talk more about her. It seemed like all he wanted to talk about was her and listen to her voice. The girls had cracked jokes saying he was obsessed with the brunette to which she shrugged it off.
Lani turned the corner of the hallway towards the cafeteria only to have a firm hand grasp her forearm pulling her into an empty classroom.
"Hallo." Chris smiled brightly, engulfing the small girl into a tight hug, breathing in her scent and sighing in content at the familiar vanilla and rose scent.
Lani chuckled into the crook of his neck, breathing in his alluring cologne. "Hei. Can't breathe." She dramatically gasped. Chris pulled away pink tinting his cheeks. Lani chuckled at the boy in confusion, "What's up? I'm gonna be late."
"Ah, I can't say hi, to my beautiful princess?" He joked, a wide smile spreading across his angelic features.
Lani rolled her eyes, ignoring the feeling that flowed through her at the nickname that he always teased her with. "You could have texted me. And we literally saw each other all break, remember?" She giggled. "I couldn't even hang out with my friends because you wouldn't leave me alone." She feigned an annoyed expression.
Chris gaped at the brunette, "How rude. My presence is a blessing to you and everyone who dares walk near me." He cockily stated.
Lani rolled her eyes, "Stop being so cocky, it's annoying and ruining my vibe." She rolled her eyes, smiling. Chris gazed at the brunette in amusement. Lani looked away her cheeks flushing, she was worried something was on her face.
"I wanted to ask in person, being the gentleman that I am, and ask if you wanted to accompany me to the Penetrator party this Friday, m'lady." He curtseyed jokingly.
Lani shook her head chuckling at the strange hazel eyed boy. Chris smiled his infamous smile at the brunette hoping she would in fact come. His smile faded as he watched her frown. "Uh, I can't."
Chris parted his lips, "Why? Is everything okay?" He asked concern ever in his voice.
"Yes, I just have a bus meeting." Lani shrugged, she wasn't entirely lying. She knew they would have one this week and she assumed Friday.
"Oh." Chris frowned. A smile reappeared on his features as an idea came to him. "How about we hang out during the day? Get some coffee, then go to your favourite park, or we can get breakfast or lunch, or-" He rambled listing off ideas.
Lani smiled at the kind offer but shook her head, "I can't, I'm actually going to be with..." She trailed off, as a name popped into her head. "Uh, Elรญas." She nodded to the brunette. "So..." She trailed off, guilt flowing through her at his deep frown.
"Oh, uh, yeah. No I get it." Chris nodded, pulling his bottom lip between his teeth. A habit she had become accustom to seeing when he was upset. "Saturday?" He asked hopeful.
He may sound clingy or annoying. But in reality he wanted to be anywhere but his home, he had gotten an email and numerous voice mails indicating his father would be returning to town; seeing as Chris didn't want to see the man during the holiday. He was internally grateful the Santiago's had invited him to spend time with the trio, even if Daniel was there for some time as well, annoying the hazel eyed boy it wasn't just him and the family.
"Um, yeah, I'll text you." She nodded with a smile small.
Chris frowned, rejection. The one thing he hated receiving from the people he cared for. Which was a small list. But for some reason hearing her decline his offers bothered him the most. He knew something was off, the way she fiddled with her mother's locket, a habit he had come to be familiar with when the brunette was uncomfortable or nervous. She also wasn't looking directly into his eyes like usual, another thing he had noticed she would often do when she would lie or felt guilty about something.
He didn't blame her if she was tired of hanging around him, he knew he had been spending a lot more time with her which made him happy and content with it. He thought she had felt the same way, maybe he was wrong; he thought to himself. Making his frustration burn more at the fact another person he cared for was keeping something from him.
"Sure." He nodded, a false smile making its way on to his features.
Lani smiled softly reaching for his hand and giving it a small squeeze, relieving some of his frustration and anger. Only when she let go leaving him alone in the class room, did it return.
Walking into the cafe she came to a halt seeing Isak snogging with a female in the corner of the classroom. Lani scrunched up her nose in disgust. Lani looked to her friends who shrugged.
"I didn't think she was his type." Chris spoke up, eyeing the duo as she ate her yogurt.
"Neither did I." Eva agreed watching the two.
"I hate PDA. Not only is it embarrassing but it's disturbing in so many ways." Lani rambled eyeing the two with narrowed eyes. "I mean if you're going to be with your significant other it should be private and intimate. Not in public, where you display it for the whole student body to witness."
The three girls looked to the brunette with amused expressions. Lani rolled her eyes, "Oh, whatever." She muttered.
"When did they even get together?" Noora asked.
"Last weekend." Eva answered.
"Uh, even worse." Lani mumbled. The girls furrowed their brows at the brunette's sudden negativity. "What? It's so sudden." She shrugged.
"That time of the month?" Chris asked jokingly.
Lani furrowed her brows, "What do you mean?"
"You're acting weird, Lan." Eva giggled nudging the brunette.
"I'm sorry." She shook her head in confusion. "I'm just... Tired." Lani apologized with a frown. The girls nodded in understanding.
"Anyways, where was it at?" Chris asked, taking another spoonful into her mouth, eyeing the two.
Eva shrugged, "Jonas said that she gave him a blowjob in the restroom."
"Since when are you together after a blowjob? You're not together after that." Chris rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"If they're happy, then that's all that matters." Lani shrugged, scrolling through her phone.
"They were already together in the 10th grade or something." Eva looked down at Chris.
"Yeah." Chris muttered.
Noora's phone chimed signalling she had a text. Lani placed her head on her shoulder glancing at her phone, a small smile grazed her lips. Noora furrowed her brows at the text from William.
Vilde and Sana entered the room eyeing Isak and his girlfriend in shock. "It's so sick that they are together." Vilde exclaimed.
Lani giggled shaking her head at the platinum blonde. "You guys! I have fantastic news." Vilde happily stated. "Are you ready?" She asked.
"Just say it." Sana looked over to Vilde.
"Are you excited?" She asked happily, Lani smiled and nodded to her happy friend. The four looked to the blonde waiting for her to finish. "I have acquired 'Brun og Blid' as a sponsor." She smiled widely.
Lani tilted her head to the side, "What's that?" She asked in confusion.
"What did you say?" Noora leaned forwards.
"It's Norway's largest tanning salon chain." Vilde explained.
"We will not be sponsored by them, no." Noora denied.
Vilde's smile dropped, "Why's that?"
Noora looked to Lani with pleading eyes, who nodded. "They market and contribute in a sexist way in Norway. And when girls see that they feel obligated to look a certain way due to the media of that sort." Noora nodded proudly. Vilde looked to Lani with sad puppy like eyes, the brunette parted her lips, "But... it's also a good thing to love your body as a woman you have every right to showcase it to society if you're comfortable with it; as men are allowed to do so as well." Lani explained. Vilde smiled widely nodding and pointing to the green eyed beauty.
"Exactly! And it's hard to promote their products without showing skin." Vilde added on. "Noora, I worked really hard to get them to sponsor us. You're just being really ungrateful." Vilde sighed. "Can't you see how difficult it was to persuade them?"
Noora scoffed, "So you think we should promote 'Brun og Blid?' And contribute to a completely inhumane body pressure?" Noora asked, the girls looked to the blonde. Lani pressed her lips into a thin line.
"I don't feel too much of that body pressure." Chris piped up chewing on her spoon looking between her friends.
Noora looked to Sana and Lani who smiled at Chris. Then shrugged, "I say we milk those sexist motherfuckers for every penny they have!" Sana smirked. Vilde smiled widely giggling and high-fived the doe eyed beauty.
"Okay . . . Oh my God, fucking cool. Go for it." Noora stubbornly rolled her eyes. Lani smiled and reached over grasping the blonde's hand. "But then I'm not joining the bus anymore."
Lani frowned and pulled away, "Noora." Lani shook her head at the blonde with pleading wide eyes, knowing Noora would give in.
"You're being childish. Oh my God." Vilde said in disbelief.
"It's just because I refuse to contribute to that inhumane body pressure." Noora defended herself.
"The logo is this small. Here." Vilde pressed her fingers closely together, placing it on her arm. "I don't understand how that will contribute to body pressure."
"Yeah well, whatever. I give up." Noora waved her hand in the air.
"Should we go as a ga-russ then?" Vilde asked in disbelief.
"Vilde, it might come as a shock to you . . . But Russ buss is not important to me. I just wanted to get to know Lani, Eva and Sana." Noora shrugged smiling to the three girls who smiled in return.
Chris pouted, "Wow, thanks for that!"
"No! You too, Chris." Noora nodded to the brunette. Giggling, "You know I love you."
LANI and Daniel sat in her bedroom. Lani had invited the boy over to speak to him privately, about Friday. She needed someone to come with her to the doctors, she wanted to ask one of the girls but she knew they'd worry to much and demand answers. She'd ask her father or brother but that was the last thing she'd ever want to do. Chris and William; she didn't want to bother the boys even though William had suspected her to be a little off lately, but she refused to drag them into it. So she chose Daniel. Well, he made her choose him.
Chris wasn't the only one who noticed her strange behaviour. Daniel had noticed it as well, in fact him being him he went and did his own research to see what could be the cause of it all. He checked womanly issues off this list the moment he read the negative results leading to possible death. He had tried getting her to open up during the break but she refused to. She even yelled at him when he had offered to help her wash the dishes. It startled him and Christoffer. They had never seen he react in such a way.
"So you need a ride for Friday...?" He asked, his blue eyed holding curiosity.
"Yes. I can, um, go in myself. I just need a ride." Lani shrugged typing away on her computer, every so often needing to pause, her hands had been shaking recently, which wasn't new her hands normally would shake and or twitch due to nerves but lately it had been more frequent.
Daniel narrowed his eyes at the brunette, taking her laptop away resulting in her to whine, and Luna to roll over in annoyance. "Tell me, what is going on right now." He demanded.
"I don't-" She began.
"No, something's wrong, I researched what's been happening to you; loss of balance, moody behaviour, how you're forgetting things more often like this Norwegian essay that was due before the break! Seriously Lani the things that came up weren't good, now tell me what is wrong." His eyes watered, at the mention of the sites and research he had done. Fearing what had happened to her mother may be happening to her, or worse.
Lani gnawed on her lip, fiddling with her locket. "It's nothing-"
"Bullshit!" He shouted. Standing up from her bed, "You're not yourself. You're hiding things from me, your family, friends, hell even Chris called me asking what had been going on with you, worried it was home related." He sighed.
Lani winced at his tone, looking down nervously. She inhaled deeply and sighed out, she quietly spoke. "I'm sick." She mumbled lowly.
Daniel widened his eyes not believing his ears, "What?"
Lani looked up with watery eyes to the blonde boy, blue meeting green. "I am sick." She repeated.
Daniel parted his lips and shook his head, "I don't understand, we can get you Advil or-"
Lani shook her head, "Not that kind of sick."
Daniel shook her head in disbelief, "No, you can't be." Lani smiled sadly. "You're sixteen! You can't-"
"Studies show that you can show symptoms in your early twenties. It's rare for them to show as early as sixteen, but I guess it's not so rare." She chuckled bitterly. Tears breamed in Daniel's eyes, as he mumbled to himself in disbelief. Lani reached over for his hand, letting him sit on her bed as she hugged him into her chest.
"Your family, they don't know-" He pulled away with wide eyes.
"When my mom was diagnosed she had taken me to the doctors. They had said, I could begin early, seeing as it's in our bloodline. My mother was worried and had me going to the doctors once a month. It wasn't a definite at the time. So after mamรก passed away, my father had found out about my chances of getting it. He had me on medicine. But it had awful side affects. I couldn't take them anymore. So I haven't since then." She explained. "I guess it's starting again." She mumbled to herself.
"Lani, you're getting worse-" He began.
"That's why I need you to take me on Friday. You can't tell anyone, please Daniel." She begged the blonde. Daniel parted his lips, "Please. I don't want them going through anymore pain, then they already have." Her eyes pleading looking into his. "Promise me you will not say anything."
Daniel parted his lips. He didn't want to keep something like this from her family, he knew they deserved to know. But they didn't know for certain what was causing her to react in such way. Swallowing a lump in his throat, he nodded slowly. "I promise."
Lani smiled softly, "Tak." She thanked quietly. "I'll be okay." She assured pulling him into another hug.
Daniel shook his head as he swallowed another lump in his throat, "No you're not." Lani frowned, rubbing his back gently. "You're dying, Lan." He mumbled into her shoulder.

THE girls sat in the cafe talking about their russ bus sponsor. Lani listened in as she read her book, every so often grabbing fries from Vilde's plate. Who was to busy speaking to the girls about the issues at hand.
"-we have to have money. I suggest a Russebuss meeting on Friday." Vilde announced, Lani nodded along with the girls. She reached for more fries only to find that she had eaten them all, with wide eyes she pulled her hand away quickly focusing on her book. "Then everyone can talk properly about the image and the concept. We'll drink wine and just enjoy ourselves." She smiled widely to the girls. "It's been so long that it was just us."
"For me, we don't really need to do this." Noora announced shrugging. "It's not important to Lani and I."
The girls looked to the brunette who was chewing on her sketching pencil reading her book in silence. Noora kicked Lani's shin under the table, who widened her eyes looking up at the girls who watched her in confusion. "Yes." She said slowly and unsurely.
"I have a party in Elvebakken on Friday, so..." Eva spoke up.
"With who?" Vilde asked in confusion.
"With Jonas." Eva nonchalantly spoke. "I promised I would go with him." The girls nodded in amusement. "Come on! We're friends, okay?" She chuckled shaking her head at her friends. "Why is it so hard to understand that you can be friends with your ex? Right Lani?"
Lani turned a page from her book, "I've never had a boyfriend or girlfriend. But if they did you no wrong then I guess so. But there's no doubt you won't still love them like you did when you two were together." She explained, her eyes glued to her book.
Eva and the girls tilted their head to the wise brunette. Eva ranted some more to the girls, who looked to one another in amusement not believing the strawberry blonde's words. Vilde sat up watching as the Penetrator boys walked into the cafe sitting across from them, two to be exact.
"Did you hear William beat up someone from Hansen this weekend?" Vilde's soft voice rang out. Noora and Lani looked up meeting eyes with the two boys who were already eyeing the duo.
"Who was it?" Eva asked the platinum blonde.
"A 98'er. He was properly destroyed." Vilde spoke eyeing the doe eyed boy. "He ended up in the emergency room." She spoke in awe.
"Pretentious boys, such a pain." Lani dramatically sighed, placing the back of her hand on her forehead as she leaned against Noora. The girls chuckled at the brunette.
"Oh my God, so cool!" Noora sarcastically spoke, shoving the brunette back in her seat, who pouted sticking out her tongue at the blonde.
"I think William is very sensitive." Vilde shrugged with a small smile. "He knows what it's like to lose someone. Chris too."
"I think they're both fuckboys." Sana shrugged, rolling her eyes.
"What do mean?" Lani's soft voice spoke up, placing her book down as she glanced at the hazel eyed boy.
Vilde looked to the brunette, "William lost his sister, and Chris his mother." She explained.
Lani gnawed on her lip, looking back to the boy who smiled widely to his best friend showing his phone to the boy. "He lost his sister? And Chris lost his mother?" Eva asked in confusion, snapping the brunette's head over to the girls.
"Yeah, didn't you guys know? They're dead." Vilde solemnly spoke. "Apparently, Chris has major issues with his father, that's why he lives alone."
Lani frowned looking over to Noora who to was looking at William. She frowned looking to the boy who always wore a wide smile across his angelic features. That's why he avoided the topic of his family, why he didn't judge her and understood her. It wasn't pity, he understood her because he had been there before. Lani thought to herself.
"When did it happen?" Lani asked as she looked to the two boys.
"A long time ago. Something like that really stays with someone." Vilde frowned. "But you already know that." She mumbled sadly.
Lani looked down upon hearing her phone buzz, alongside Noora's. Lani furrowed her brows as she read the text.

Lani giggled softly shaking her head at the texts, as she typed in her response. The girls curiously looked to the brunette who pressed her lips into a thin line.
Chris watched with amusement in his hazel eyes, as well as nerves. Hoping she'd say yes. He knew William was going to be busy with Noora and all, which he didn't mind to much. He wanted to be with the brunette and not at home. But she had been turning him down lately, he feared she didn't want to be friends anymore; seeing as she had been spending more time with Daniel lately.
Lani looked to the boy, who widened his eyes with hope like a child on Christmas. She gnawed on her lip and nodded with a small smile. Chris fist bumped the air in excitement as William smiled softly at the two returning his gaze back to Noora who to smiled at the duo.

She didn't want to push him away, she just needed some time until after her appointment on Friday. Good or bad news she wanted to keep herself occupied, but not only was Friday on her mind but now Chris' mother. She wanted to ask him but she didn't want to push her boundaries, she wanted him to tell her when he was good and ready.
Lani tuned the conversation back in listening to Eva and Vilde continue on about the doe eyed boy. Lani glanced at Noora who had been glancing at William, Lani smirked. Resulting in a kick from Noora, the brunette glared at the blonde.
The girls looked over at the two in confusion, "Continue." Lani smiled innocently.
Eva nodded unsurely, turning back to Vilde. "-then he said, 'Whoever gets you, is fucking lucky." Eva recited. Lani sighed tuning the duo back out, as she doodled on Noora's unused napkin.
"He's so random though. He came up to Noora an-"
Upon hearing Eva bring up Noora, Lani and the blonde widened their eyes at Eva shaking their heads discreetly.
Vilde looked to the blonde in confusion, "Came up to Noora and then?"
"He just said hi." Lani shrugged.
Vilde looked to the two not believing the brunette, Noora sighed. "Vilde, it's never going to happen between me and William." Noora reassured the platinum blonde.
"William and I." Lani corrected quietly.
Noora smiled faintly, "He's the most unsympathetic, selfish person I've ever met. I would never touch him. And you shouldn't either."
"You don't know him like I do. If you had heard him at Christmas." Vilde shrugged.
Lani bit her bottom lip, glancing at Noora who frowned at the mention of the day. Noora had called the brunette ranting about the boy who only apologized to Vilde so Noora would go on a date with him. She couldn't talk to long seeing as Chris kept calling her to come back and play charades with her father, him, and Elรญas. So she sent a very strongly worded text to the brunette about his poor choices.
Lani looked up hearing Noora's voice, "Just because he came over and apologized, because he behaved like an asshole, doesn't mean he's a good person. And it doesn't mean he's keen on you."
Lani bit her bottom lip seeing the distraught look on the platinum blonde's soft features. "What Noora means is, just because he apologized doesn't excuse the way he treated you." She softly smiled, "You deserve," She tilted her head to the side, she glanced at the hazel eyed boy who spoke to William with a wide smile. "-you deserve someone who will put you first." Looking back to the blonde, "Someone who would never hurt you physically or emotionally. Someone who you don't have to second guess their trust, because they are loyal and faithful to you only." She smiled in thought.
Vilde furrowed her brows thinking over the brunette's words carefully, "Tak, Lani." She smiled softly to the brunette then looked to the blonde, "I didn't say he was keen on me, it was Eva."
"I just don't want you to get your hopes up and-" Noora explained, only for Vilde's phone to ding. Vilde smiled widely to the girls then to Noora.
"It's from William! Penetrators party on Friday. Bring your bus group and come." She blushed, reading the text to the girls.
Noor and Lani furrowed their brows looking to one another then to the two boys who were smiling at the duo innocently. "Um, don't we have a bus meeting on Friday? I have something before hand, then I was going to come to the meeting." Lani rambled shaking her head at the blonde.
"Yeah." Noora nodded.
"I thought it wasn't important to either of you." Vilde spoke in confusion to the two girls.
Lani glanced at Noora who shook her head, "I thought it was important to you to be strong and independent?" Noora remarked.
"Yeah, but I can be strong and independent at the Penetrator party." Vilde retorted. The girls looked back and fourth between the trio with wide eyes.
"So we'll just drop all of our plans, because a guy calls." Noora asked in disbelief.
"Can't we have a bus meeting first, and then go to the party afterwards?" Chris asked the group.
Lani parted her lips, "Are you sure? I mean, I think it's best if we have the night to ourselves to go in full detail on everything." Lani suggested with hopeful eyes.
"Nei, Lani. That's a great idea Chris." Vilde denied, and nodding to Chris. Pulling up her phone she began texting William, "We're coming. Heart... heart?"
"So then we'll have the bus meeting and the party and then you go to that party with your best friend." Chris shrugged.
Lani looked away to the entrance spotting Daniel who nodded his head to the exit discreetly. Lani nodded, "I'll see you girls later." She smiled, packing up her things.
"Where are you going?" Noora and Eva asked in unison. Noora's eyes pleading her to stay, Lani looked to the blonde apologetically.
"Just forgot to hand in my Norwegian essay." She reassured, "Text me." She mumbled to Noora.
The brunette rushed to the exit unaware of the hazel eyes watching her and Daniel quietly speak to one another and exiting into the halls together.
Daniel pulled the brunette into an empty classroom. Lani looked up with wide eyes at the blue eyes boy. "So?" She asked.
"I told the guys I'd be late on Friday. They wont suspect anything, probably think I'm talking to some chick." He assured.
"Good. No one can know, Dani. Not yet." She mumbled. "Plus the results could turn out positive." She spoke positively to the blue eyed boy.
"I know. I just-" He sighed. "You need to tell your dad. He deserves to know hell even Elรญas." He rambled flailing his arms in the air.
Lani brought the boy into a hug, "I will, but I have hope." She mumbled into his chest.
Chris watched with narrowed eyes at the two. Struggling to hear the two. With hurt eyes the boy turned around on his heels and made his way down the hall, wondering why she was spending so much time with the blonde. Maybe Elรญas would know he thought to himself, seeing as how the duo surprisingly had gotten a long over the break.
