TWENTY-SEVEN | DON'T GO...
I WANT YOU HERE WITH ME...

"Stay here, I think we have a shot," Tate promised Diego before Five and she walked downstairs, leaving Diego to listen in from upstairs as he started fidgeting with his fingers.
"Lila!" Tate hurried down the steps with Five holding onto her arm. "What are they doing here?" One of Lila's relatives spoke up.
"Can you just keep everyone together?" Lila requested before she walked over to the two. "You were the one who said to do this, don't try to stop me," Lila stated before Tate held onto her wrists.
"Lila... please. You can't just leave us..." Tate tried convincing her as Lila tried letting go. "I can't leave them, what if they don't make it?" Lila said, her voice breaking at the thought of losing her family again.
"Then they don't make it," Five whispered, steadying Tate's body with his arm. Lila stared at Five hurtfully, offended by the idea as the subway started pulling into the station. "If you go with them, then this whole thing starts over," Five said as Tate pleaded again.
"Please..."
"It doesn't end until all the marigold inside us is gone," Five reminded. "You don't know that," Tate and Lila snapped their heads to Five. "Yeah, I do," Five nodded before Tate let go of her wrists. "You do too," Five stared at the two girls despite the betrayal he felt from Lila.
"You have to let them go," Five stated before Tate spoke up. "Lila, the train is here! What should we do?" Lila's Mom asked, getting up from her seat.
"The train is here, tell Grace we would've loved to be her godparents," Tate held back tears before pulling Lila into a hug.
"I'm sorry," Lila said as Tate pulled away from her. Lila walked away from the duo before she hurried her family into the subway. "Okay, come on, come on, everyone. What are you waiting for?" Lila said as everyone started walking into the subway.
"Diego..." Tate muttered, realizing Lila was actually going through with this. "I'll get him," Five offered before he walked upstairs to find their brother, leaving Tate to walk towards the subway door as Lila's family and Claire held onto the railing as Tate waved goodbye to them.
Suddenly as the doors closed on them, Lila stepped out of the train, causing Tate's eyes to widen in shock. "Mom!" Grace called out to Lila as Lila's family started banging on the door in confusion.
"No, Lila!" Lila's Mom called out as Tate stood there with tears streaming down her cheeks. Lila turned to Tate as her family continued clamoring, calling out for her. "Mommy!" Grace called out, causing Lila to lower herself against the door.
"It's okay, love," Lila reassured her daughter as she lined up with the daughter's hand through the glass door. "I'll see you soon, okay?" Lila smiled, trying to compose herself.
Tate felt her tears reach to her mouth as she tasted the salty tears lingering on her lips. "Lila!" Lila's relatives called out as the train started moving.
"Five! Diego!" Tate called out as Five spatial jumped with Diego on his arm. "Go!" Tate pushed Diego to Lila. "Make sure you read to Grace every night, okay?" Lila started following the train, trying to catch up to them.
Diego followed her, running alongside her, "Mommy and Daddy love you so much, Grace!" Diego cried as Grace held back tears.
"And don't let the twins fight!" Diego and Lila said in unison as Tate and Five watched the couple continue running after the subway. Lila stopped midway, getting tired of running while Diego continued to chase after them a few feet ahead of her.
"It's gonna be okay, It's gonna be okay," Lila muttered to herself repeatedly as Tate and Five caught up to Lila. Lila sat down on the ground in defeat as tears started pouring out of her eyes.
"Lila..." Tate muttered before she looked up to Diego standing there helplessly as the subway left the station. "It's gonna be okay," Lila breathed shakily as Tate joined her on the ground.
"Oh sweetheart..." Tate noticed her tear-stained face before pulling her into a hug. Lila cried as she held onto Tate's arm, finding some comfort in the hug.
"We can stay like this as long as you need, Lila," Tate comforted as Five caught up to Diego. "I hate you for this," Lila sobbed as Five and Diego took a seat on the silver bench.
"We know," Tate sighed softly as she continued to cradle Lila in her arms. "I hate you, I hate you both for this," Lila continued to weep into Tate's shoulder. Five and Diego stared at the two girls on the floor, unable to stop Lila's breakdown.
"You okay?" Tate mouthed, looking up to Diego. Diego stayed silent before Tate gestured for Five to comfort Diego.
"I wanna fucking kill you later..." Lila said as she gripped Tate's arm tighter. "Keep that promise, Pitts," Tate agreed, taking the threat as an empty promise, remaining unbothered.
"You know... Tate is pregnant..." Five revealed the news, causing the two to gasp. "You're pregnant," Lila stated as she pulled away from Tate. Tate nodded, admitting the secret news.
"I'm currently almost two months in, apparently," Tate informed as Diego hugged her. "I'm so happy for you two," Diego laughed through his tears.
"Thank you..." Tate muttered as Lila held onto Diego's arm. "I hope you can meet them soon," Five smiled as Tate pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"Let's go," Five held out his hands for Tate to take. Lila repeated the motion to Diego before Tate and Diego took their hands. The four stared at each other with hope before teleporting away from the subway.
