TWENTY-EIGHT | AND HERE IT IS,
OUR FINAL NIGHT ALIVE

Lila, Diego, Five and Tate teleported to the academy, making Tate and Diego a little unsteady as the two regained their balance.

"The kids?" Klaus asked as he stared at the group. "Yeah, they're safe," Lila nodded as she answered the question. Tate noticed Allison's worried look as she stood up from the couch. "And Claire," Lila stated, turned to Allison who sniffled in relief.

"Think they're gonna be okay?" Allison questioned as she glanced at Lila for any signs of hesitation. "Yeah, my family will take care of them, she'll never be alone," Lila promised as Tate stared at the ground.

"So..." Luther stood up from the couch across from Allison. "We gonna do this thing?" Luther asked as everyone glanced at each other nervously.

A loud crash was heard as it approached closer to the group. "All right, moving!" Klaus said in a high-pitched voice as he quickened his pace out of the room. "Come on, let's go," Luther said as everyone backed away from the window.

"Quickly," Klaus hurried as he wrapped Allison's arm around his shoulder. "Slowly," Luther mumbled as he held onto Tate's shoulder, leading her to the middle of the foyer.

The monster's tentacles busted through the already damaged window. "Oh god, I loved those windows," Klaus said as the rest stood in the middle of the foyer. "All right, doesn't matter anymore," Klaus commented as Tate interlocked arms with Five.

"Well, maybe we should go around the circle, and, you know, share our favorite moments together, " Luther suggested before Allison asked in disbelief. "What?"

"Barf," Klaus said as Tate smiled at Luther. "Let's not do that," Five agreed with Klaus. "That's a really bad idea," Lila said, her voice remaining nasally from crying earlier.

"Yeah, it's terrible," Diego joined in. "That's a terrible idea," Klaus turned to Luther before Tate spoke up. "Yeah, bad call," Luther turned away as everyone ignored his idea.

"I actually like the idea for once, we're about to die, why don't we reminisce on what we did?" Tate said before everyone's frown disappeared. "Okay, so... what do we do?" Diego asked as he shrugged cluelessly.

"Power up, I guess," Five assumed as the group before Viktor turned to Allison. "You feel strong enough for this?" Viktor asked his sister before Allison nodded. "Yeah, I think so..." Allison answered.

Everyone started powering up, their marigold slowly showing through their bodies. "Fuck, why are we being so idiotic?" Tate muttered as she let go of Five's arm. "

Ugh, I'm feeling..." Klaus trailed off as everyone started feeling marigolds rush through their bodies. "Now what?" Diego asked before the rock that remained in Tate's shirt started glowing in sync with the group.

"Tate..." Five glanced over the blue glowing rock. "Oh shit, I forgot about this..." Tate pulled out the blue stone from her shirt. "What the hell is that?" Luther asked as Tate went to her spot again. "No idea, Newspaper Five gave it to me," Tate shrugged.

The monster started encircling the group, making its way to the foyer's windows. The tentacles burst through the glass door, slipping through the cracks. "Fuck..." Tate muttered.

"I'm sorry you left Canada for this," Allison tried apologizing. "I'm not," Viktor reassured, shaking his head. "This is where I'm supposed to be..." Viktor said before he placed his arm on Allison's shoulder.

"With my family," Viktor smiled. "You were right," Diego admitted before Lila turned to him. "Don't," Lila stopped, shaking her head. Tate looked over to Luther. "It's working," Tate mouthed at the group's bittersweet confession, causing Luther to smile.

"I see you," Diego said as he acknowledged Lila's pain, causing Lila to glance at him. "I finally see you," Diego nodded before Lila confessed. "I didn't mean to hurt you," Lila said tearfully. "I know," Diego nodded, understandingly. Lila held out her hand to Diego and he interlocked his hand.

Tate glanced at Five's anxious look before she smiled. "I'm not mad at you anymore... I could never be mad at you," Tate promised before Five interlocked his hand with her tightly. "I'll do anything you want in another lifetime," Five smiled, causing Tate to grin proudly.

The monster's flesh started oozing through the mansion, finding its cracks and holes to slip in. Klaus's eyes watched as the glowing red flesh started flowing into the house, passing through their feet.

"Uh..." Luther noticed the flesh heading for their feet. "Five?" Luther asked before Five sighed. "Don't fight it, let it take you, just let it go," Five reassured as the flesh started wrapping their legs, engulfing their bodies.

The blue stone continued to glow brighter, almost trying to create a shield for the group. "Whoo it stings," Klaus commented as he felt the monster consume him. "I know, right? Buddy?" Luther turned to Klaus, agreeing with him.

"Hold on, okay?" Luther requested as he placed his arm on Klaus. Klaus returned the gesture to him as Tate held out her arm for Luther to grab. "It's almost over," Luther reassured.

Five glanced over at Lila as tears streamed down her cheek. Lila offered her hand for Five to hold which Five accepted as Allison started groaning in burning pain. "Thank you for letting me in your weird family," Lila chuckled.

Everyone chuckled tearfully, acknowledging Lila's existence made the family even stronger. "Oh god, I'm gonna miss you guys," Luther said as he tried not to choke on his tears.

"I'm just glad we're all together in the end," Viktor nodded as Tate smiled at her brother. "No more legs and eggs, right?" Diego joked before Luther chuckled.

"Maybe we'll see each other again," Allison smiled as Tate nodded in agreement. "That would be nice," Five said as the flesh started rushing to their heads. "You know, I just wanna say I love you guys..." Klaus confessed as Tate tried keeping her head up.

"But you are all assholes," Klaus added, causing everyone to chuckle. "Fuck you," Lila said as the flesh started consuming their bodies.

Unbeknownst to them, the blue stone was creating a force field, engulfing the members as the marigolds from their bodies were being extracted. The group assumed they were sacrificing themselves to the monster.

The group breathed once more before their bodies were teleported out of the foyer, leaving their marigold particles lingering in the air as the monster consumed the marigold hungrily before it struggled to breathe, collapsing on the ground.

okay I think I might have an idea on this ending will work let's hope it's realistic 😁

oh fuck I thought I had another chapter to write about this but this is the end, one more chapter and this is... over....

i might add back the deleted scenes while editing this but who knows?
