SIX | JEAN & GENE
(A PAIR OF JEANS I CALLED THEM OR GENEยฒ)
"I am going to kill someone," Tate groaned, stumbling into the abandoned academy with Five's arm wrapped around her waist, steadying her onto the couch.
Lila and Diego were arguing in the background as Tate covered her ears. "Someone explain what the hell is going on here quick," Viktor asked, running inside. "Well, Viktor, that's what we're all trying to figure out," Five looked up at his brother as Lila & Diego's argument died down.
"Oh god, don't look at me," Luther said as he tried to cover himself. "No one's blaming you, Luther," Diego glared at Luther, hands in his pocket.
"No! I mean, don't look at me! I'm hideous," Luther screamed, trying to cover himself with his robe. "Just because you chose to wear a G-string and your robe does not fit you anymore doesn't mean I want to look at you!" Tate screamed as Five tried to keep her head down.
"At least you're back to your old self, the rest of us feel like someone injected motor oil in our veins," Five commented as Tate tried standing up. "It's so strange, because I, for once, feel fantastic," Klaus said, his hand resting on his chest.
"Yeah? Well, you think you got problems?" Lila asked, looking at everyone. "Look at this," Lila added before Diego tried stopping. "Oh wait, No!" Lila's eyes blasted green laser beams before everyone ducked down in defense. Five and Tate's hands both lowered each other's heads as Lila's laser cut through a round through the room, causing everyone to scream.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Not inside," Luther said as he watched lights fall onto the ground. "What the hell?" Luther asked as Lila's eyes turned back to normal. "I'm sorry," Lila tried apologizing before her eyes went green again, causing everyone to duck again.
Tate quickly pulled Five into her arms, covering his eyes as Lila's laser passed through the room once again. "Turn it off!" Luther ordered, watching his furniture crumble. "I don't know, how!" Lila screamed before Lila closed her eyes, stopping the lasers.
"I guess I'll need more than sunglasses," Tate muttered as everyone got up again. "Sorry about that," Lila sighed, wandering around the destroyed furniture. "Be careful," Tate said, pulling herself to her feet. "How do you do that?" Diego asked his wife. "A gun to my head, I couldn't tell you," Lila responded, unable to answer the mystery of her new power.
"Oh, come on! It took me months to find these original scones!" Luther complained, pointing at the shattered scones. "I don't give a shit about your scones," Viktor snapped, tired of vague answers. "I want answers now!" Viktor yelled before orange energy encircled him.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!" Everyone tried calming him down, trying to stop another unnecessary fight. "Viktor, easy," Allison reassured softly.
"Relax, Kodiak Jack," Ben's voice rang out of the abandoned academy as he stumbled downstairs. Everyone turned to see Ben enter the room with one of his tentacles sticking out from his back.
"It was me," Ben confessed, his tired expression shown with heavy dark circles. "I know you're all too terminally emo to do what had to be done. So I made an executive decision and spiked your sake with the marigold," Ben started explaining, causing everyone to react in shock.
Luther gasped while Allison and Tate rolled their eyes. "Why am I not surprised?" Five said with Tate held herself closer to her husband. "You had no right to do that, asshole!" Viktor scolded at Ben's reckless action. "Oh, trust me, You'll thank me later," Ben argued, not intimidated by Viktor.
"Yeah, I'll kick your ass right now," Viktor threatened, causing Tate to grin proudly at Viktor. "Oh yeah, that, I'll love to see," Ben taunted before taking a seat on the couch.
"Ugh!" Allison whined as she got up from the couch, grossed out by Ben's slimy tentacles. "What is with the tails?" Diego asked, watching the pale things stick out of Ben's back. "I don't know, they won't go back in!" Ben complained before Luther touched one of them with his fingers.
The tentacles reacted to the sensitive action, flicking its tentacles onto Luther's face, slapping it. "Gross," Tate commented before Five tried covering her eyes. "Oh god!" Luther screamed. "Why is it cold?" Luther asked, touching his face.
"The real question is why would you touch it?" Lila asked as if it was an obvious move not to touch it. "Forget about my tails, all right?" Ben snapped.
"I haven't felt this good in years, maybe you guys need to take some more," Ben said before picking his teeth. "Okay, you know what? Give us that," Five said, getting up from his seat before Five swatted away Diego's hand before Tate picked up the glowing jar.
"Hold up, Klaus. Why aren't you sick?" Allison asked, holding onto the armchair. "Well, because one sake bomb is too many, and a thousand is never enough," Klaus said, confessing to not drinking the shot.
"You didn't drink..." Tate and Allison sighed, Tate clenched her fists. "Hey! I took it only because you would! What the fuck, Klaus?" Tate yelled before Five rubbed her back, comforting her. "Because, baby sis. I wasn't just gonna ruin my body like that," Klaus said before Tate laughed sarcastically.
"Nothing is worse than starting a fucking cult!" Tate screamed before Viktor turned to Ben. "Do you realize what you've done?" Viktor screamed before punching him, causing everyone to shout in fear. Ben then shot some black liquid out of him, barely missing Viktor before hitting a picture on the wall before Luther screamed.
"Dude! I live here!" Ben stood up from his seat, "The fact you're all too busy living in loser mindset to realize we're much better off this way," Ben reminded. "That wasn't your decision to make," Viktor argued, raising his hands. "Give me one good reason why we shouldn't have our powers back," Ben insisted before Tate spoke up.
"Every girl you fucked will remember if you pulled out or not," Tate said, referring to the black stain Ben made on the wall. "I don't know, maybe because we ended the world three times," Allison added, looking down at the armchair.
"We also saved it three times," Diego joined in, causing Tate to shake her head. "That's part's highly debatable, Diego," Five said as Tate rubbed his back, soothing him. "You proud of that, puta?" Tate asked rhetorically, causing Diego to scoff.
"Forget about saving the world," Viktor snapped. "I just spent five years building a life for myself," Viktor said, glancing at everyone. "A real life," Viktor emphasized. "Away from this, away from Dad, away from our past," Viktor informed, causing Tate to smile softly at Viktor's happiness.
"And you had to fuck it all up with one sake bomb," Viktor yelled, pointing at Ben. Everyone glared at Ben before he spoke up. "Look, I was trying to help," Ben said, glancing at everyone. "No, no, no. Viktor's right, none of us asked for this," Luther agreed with Viktor.
"I could have lost my job," Luther said before Tate rolled her eyes. "Did you?" Five asked with genuine interest. "Wha- well, actually no," Luther confessed. "My boss bumped me up from brunch buffet to prime time," Luther added. "And I have been booked in Atlantic City next weekend but still!" Luther yelled, facing Ben before Ben patted his chest.
"Come on, Allison," Ben walked towards his sister. "You can't tell me you're not a little bit glad to have your powers back all these years?" Ben asked. "Why would I be, Benjamin? Why would I want my power back?" Allison repeated while Lila was trying to test her new powers, holding up a rubber duck to her eyes.
"Maybe you could rumor your way out of those corny-ass commercials you do, and finally get off the B-list," Ben offered a solution, causing Allison to scoff. "The..." Allison processed what Ben said before Ben started laughing and raised his hand, hoping someone would agree.
"The B-list? Excuse me?" Allison asked, offended by the comment. "I... I am the face of the national campaign," Allison argued. "Something that happened out of nothing while you were busy playing backgammon with Bernie Madoff," Allison retorted.
"Tell him, sister," Klaus yelled, agreeing with her. "Wow," Ben gasped at the lack of in the room. "All right, all right, Klaus. Come on, Klaus," Ben walked towards his brother.
"All right, all right, Klaus. Come on, Klaus. My brother, it's not too late for you to get in on this action." Ben begs. "I already told you. It's not gonna happen." Klaus stated, hoping Ben would back off.
"Why not? Maybe with your powers back, you won't have to keep living life like a human sippy cup." Five taunted, causing Tate to nudge her husband in disagreement.
"It's a slippery slope. All right?" Klaus argued.
"Into what?" Tate asked, knowing the mess Klaus created for himself before.
"Powers, ghosts, drugs, sex, oblivion." Klaus lists off, "It's one big spicy gumbo of bad, am I'm not going back to that old Klaus. I like this Klaus. 'Hey, he collects coupons'. 'He's frugal, respectful, reliable," Klaus explained as Ben's stomach began to rumble.
"And most importantly, he's a Klaus that Claire likes'. And trusts and looks up to." Klaus listed out before everyone switches over to Ben as his body begins to shake.
"Guys, Ben doesn't look so hot." Lila pointed out at a pale Ben before he puked all over the ground. Luther and Diego picked him up.
Luther dragged him by his arm and Diego pulled Ben's hair as the two dragged him onto the couch. "I just to need lie down," Ben argued before he continued to gurgle, his body shaking.
"Whoa!" Diego screamed. "What do we do? Call 911?" Luther asked, looking around at everyone. "No, no, no, no!" Ben denied. "No cops!" Ben asked before Tate got up from her seat.
"All right, we need to go back to the damn dry cleaners and get more information," Tate ordered, pulling Five up to his feet.
"Agreed, I'll drive," Diego said as Five and Tate walked out of the room. "Let's roll, mofos," Diego said. "Let's get Ben out of here, quick," Klaus urged before Tate stayed back.
"Go ahead," Tate told her husband before Five picked up his jacket and went to the car first. "Watch the tentacles," Ben warned as Klaus picked it up with his glove-covered hands.
"The state of the place," Luther sighed exasperated. "Hey," Luther greeted Viktor before Tate walked back into the room. "You okay?" Tate asked her brother.
Viktor sighed before answering, "No, not really," Luther and Tate nodded sympathetically, "Yeah, we know," Tate reached her hand to Viktor.
"Come on, let's go figure this out together," Luther said before Tate turned to him. "You wanna get changed first?" Tate asked, looking Luther up and down disgustingly.
"Right," Luther nodded, looking down at his bare state before Tate interlocked arms with Viktor and walked out to Diego's car.
