FIVE | PLAN TO GET OUR
POWERS BACK? HELL NO!

"What I'd like to know is how the daughter of some random dry cleaner ends up with a marigold in the trunk of her car?" Five wondered, eyeing the glowing jar.

"How do we know that's not just glow stick juice?" Diego asked, pointing to the jar. "Why don't you take a sip and find out, tough guy?" Ben asked sarcastically, setting his drink. "I will if you will," Diego stared at Ben, believing his joke. "Don't even think about it," Lila shut down her husband.

"I don't think the glowing jar would make paradise-like noises, Dipsy," Tate remarked, causing Diego to scoff.

"Okay, for the sake of this discussion, let's say this is legit," Five sets down the jar on the table. "Does anyone here want their power back?" Tate asked, earning an immediate no from Klaus, however, Ben raised his hand.

"For the first time in my life, I'm sober," Klaus said, causing everyone to turn their heads at him. "And... happy," Klaus added with some hesitation. "But most importantly, 100% poltergeist-free," Klaus said as the chef walked out, causing Five to hide the jar under the table.

"Free? You rarely leave the house," Allison reminded. "And when you do, you wear surgical gloves in public," Allison pointed to the rubber blue gloves on Klaus's hands. "Yeah, well, at least I'm in control," Klaus looked down at his gloves.

"Look at this chump," Diego whispered to Lila, watching the chef do some fancy knife tricks. "Angle's wrong," Diego commented, leaning towards her. "Sloppy form," Diego added before everyone cheered, applauding the chef.

"Look, guys, it's a hard no for me too," Viktor declined. "I've got a bar to run, friends, like real life," Viktor stated as Tate nodded along. "You're all nuts, all right?" Ben said, circling his fingers around his ear. "We should be mainlining this shit right now,"

"Look, come on, big guy, I know you want it," Ben pointed at Luther. "Wait! I mean it's a tough one," Luther hesitated. "Come on, you don't need that, Luther," Klaus said with his floss in his mouth.

"Your life is fantastic," Klaus added. "I don't know about fantastic but you know... I'm... I'm managing," Luther forced out. "Is that where the bar is set these days?" Ben asked, causing Tate to roll her eyes. "Managing?" Ben repeated.

"Don't have your siblings to play follow the leader?" Tate asked, causing Ben to scoff. "I'll do whatever the group decides, alright. How's that?" Luther suggested. "Yeah, I'm with Luther," Diego agreed as Lila stared at him. "Majority rules," Diego nodded.

"Veto this shit," Tate immediately shook her head in disagreement. "You're not actually considering this, are you?" Klaus asked Allison between huffs. "No--" Allison stuttered. "My life is great, I have everything I need," Allison said. "Yep, me too," Lila joined in. "Same," Klaus and Luther nodded.

"All right then, motion fails, we don't drink the mystery juice," Five concluded. "So we don't get our powers back," Tate ended, causing Klaus to sigh in relief.

"I tried, you're all morons," Ben said, tossing his napkin onto the table. "Hey! Where are you going?" Luther asked. "To take a piss! Is that okay, Luther?" Ben snapped. "Or do you need to run that by my parole officer too?" Ben taunted, causing Luther to gasp. "Oh shit! I was supposed to call him at 6:00!" Luther remembered, looking at his watch.

"Is that what I think it is?" Luther pointed at the doll the chef was holding. "Yeah, it is!" Viktor nodded at the grotesque doll. "That's disgusting," Luther commented, lowering his hand.

"All right, I gotta hit the road actually," Viktor said, tossing the napkin. "No, so soon?" Klaus asked. "Come on, Vik! Stay a bit longer!" Luther stopped him. "No, wait! Stay, man!" Diego joined in. "It's just such a long drive, so yeah," Viktor argued. "And I should go too, I've got an audition tomorrow," Allison folded her napkin.

"Like a big important audition, and we have to boot camp the lines," Klaus said, causing Tate to pull Five up to his feet. "Drive us home and you might get lucky," Tate said, causing Five to roll his eyes but he reluctantly followed Tate.

"I'm assuming none of you people paid so I will," Tate offered as she pulled out her wallet. "You've gotta drive the kids to the dentist at 7:00 am," Lila reminded, causing Diego to laugh stiffly.

"Why you gotta make it so early again?" Diego asked, taking a drink from his beer. "Because they have school at 8:00," Lila responded before getting up from her seat.

"Hey! Where's everyone going?" Ben asked. "We haven't gotten to the steak yet," Ben yelled, trying to get everyone to stay back as a waiter came behind the group with a tray of shots.

"Party's over," Allison said as everyone got ready to leave. "Did you pay yet?" Tate asked, holding her wallet in her hand. "Not yet, No! No! Okay, one last shot on me," Ben insisted as the waiter set the tray on the table.

"For old times' sake," Ben said, causing Tate to laugh coldly. "What, old time sake, asshat?" Tate asked as Five held onto her hand. "Please!" Ben glared at Tate. "Klaus!" Ben asked as everyone reached for a shot glass.

"No-no-no way," Tate declined as Five took her shot for himself along with his own. "Ignore him," Luther reassured. "Come on, he doesn't drink," Lila defended Klaus. "Sake doesn't count," Klaus said, causing Allison to turn her head in disbelief.

"It doesn't?" Diego asked as Ben handed Klaus a shot. "Hey, Dude's sober," Diego reminded before Ben mouthed a thank you.

"Tate?" Ben turned over to the young girl. "If I drink this, will you shut up and let me go home?" Tate asked, earning an eye roll from Ben. "Be my guest," Ben accepted as Five handed Tate a shot.

"You know... you don't have to force yourself to drink because everyone is," Five whispered. "I know, darling. It's called peer pressure but fuck it," Tate sighed before Ben raised his shot glass.

"Here's to the nonexistent Umbrella Academy!" Ben declared. "Kanpai!" Everyone joined in, raising their glasses before downing the shot, letting the alcoholic drink linger in their throat.

Everyone started leaving as Tate handed her credit card to a waiter. He swiped the card before Tate handed him a 10-dollar bill as his tip.

"Are you okay, Tate?" Julia asked her boss, watching the 24-year-old pop a pill in her mouth. "Had a family reunion and also realized I'm a lightweight," Tate said before swallowing the pill with a cup of water.

"What did you drink?" Julia asked as she tidied up the folders on the ground. "A shot of sake," Tate answered, blinking her eyes as she felt a headache rising. "Tate, you look pale," Her assistant noticed her sickly complexion and walked toward her.

"I'm fine..." Tate denied, Five's workaholic nature rubbing off her. "You're not..." Julia begged to differ, watching Tate try to brush her baby hair out of her hair. "Hand me that..." Tate ignored Julia's concern for her as she pointed to a folder.

"Yeah, yeah," Julia picked up the black folder before handing it to Tate. "Thanโ€”" Tate tried reaching out for the folder. "Shit..." Tate muttered, watching the folder slip out of her hand.

Oddly enough before the file hit the ground, it instead floated mid-air causing Julia and Tate's eyes to widen. "Why the..." Tate muttered before hearing a knock on the door, causing her to cover her ears to reduce the amount of pain she was feeling.

"Who is it?" Julia asked the person outside of the door, her eyes watching Tate struggling to open her eyes. "Julia..." Five whispered through the door, not in the mood to deal with her formality.
"Five..." Tate muttered as Julia opened the door.

Five struggled to push through the door before his eyes landed on a disheveled Tate sitting in her seat. "You too, huh?" Five asked, stumbling to walk over to her.

"Five, are you alright?" Julia asked the man, noticing the similar struggling signs in the duo. "No, not really," Five forced out the sentence before his eyes darted to the floating folder. "Magic trick?" Five said, trying to lighten the tense moment.

"Remind me to never drink again..." Tate whined as she tried to get up from her seat, causing Julia to run over to her chair. "Careful," Julia warned, pulling the young girl to her feet. "Remind me how much alcohol is in sake?" Tate asked before Julia walked Tate over to Five.

"You two should go home," Julia said, watching the couple struggle to remain on their feet. "We're fine..." Tate and Five muttered in unison before they realized what to do instead. "Fuck..." Tate muttered as Julia escorted them out of Tate's office.
