y/n and the triplets are on a family trip, well technically y/n isn't family but marylou kindly invited her to tag along. y/n was forced to bring her nieces because her sister worked and saw this as a perfect opportunity, so here she was watching two children while trying to relax with her friends. 

    "y/n, honey i can watch the girls. i really don't mind." marylou smiles at the overworked girl, "no, i don't mind. thank you though." marylou just sighs and goes back to what she was doing. "anna, don't hit your sister!" she sighs and pulls the girls off of each other. matt smiles at y/n and waves her over, "put on lemonade mouth, they'll love that." her eyes light up and she turns to the girls. "it's movie time! us three are going to watch a movie while the boys play poker." they squeal in excitement and run to her. 

    y/n put the movie on and the two girls fell in love. anna got up to get water, when she got back she looked at matt and y/n. "you guys are going to be good mommy and daddy's one day." y/n blushes, "who?" anna points to her and matt, "auntie and uncle matt." now matthew is confused, "uncle?" the little girl nods, "aren't you her boyfriend?" y/n shakes her head and laughs, "no he's just my friend kiddo." anna shrugs and goes back to cuddling her aunt. 

after a while the two little girls fall asleep, "hey matt, i'm gonna go put them in my bed." he nods and removes his arm from her shoulder. y/n picks up the two and lays them in her bed so they could comfortably sleep. it was past their bedtime so they were exhausted, she walks back out and sits on the ground, leaning against matt's leg. he massages her head a bit and continues to play poker with his brothers. "y/n are you ever going to actually learn how to play poker?" justin turns to the girl, she simply shrugs. "you'd be good at it." matt looks down at her and nods to affirm his words. he pats his leg, signaling her to sit on his lap. "we're about to start a new round, we'll help you." she nods and sits on his lap, after a while she figures out how to play. 

   everyone gets tired and decides to go to bed, but y/n and nick stick back. "nick i gotta talk to you." he nods and sits next to his friend. "what's up?" she sighs and turns to him, "i'm so confused on what's going on between me and matt." nick nods, waiting for her to continue. "i'll admit, we're not just friends. and i've tried many times to ask matt what we are, where i stand. but every time he just storms off, ignores me for a few hours and then he acts like nothing happened. it's just not fair, i'm trying to get into anything serious. i just want to know what's going on." he thinks for a second, "yeah that doesn't seem fair, maybe he thinks you're trying to start something serious?" y/n shakes her head, "no, i've made it clear that i'm just trying to figure out what's going on." nick sits there, trying to help his friend but miserably failing. "well how do you feel about him?" she sighs, not wanting to admit it. "i really like him nick. i'm just not sure that's how he feels about me." he smiles, "i knew it. i think you should try to talk to him again. if you want me, chris and justin can stand in front of the door so he can't leave." she laughs, "that would be helpful actually." nick nods, "okay, are you doing it right now?" y/n thinks, "i feel like i should." he nods again, "i'll get them."

   the three flash their thumbs as she knocks on matt's door, "come in!" y/n opens the door and quickly closes it, not wanting his brothers to be visible. "hey there, what's up?" she sighs, thinking about just running out the door instead. she doesn't, she instead sits next to matt on his bed. "can we talk?" he nods and sits up, "matt, you can't run away, okay?" he sighs and nods, knowing what she wants to talk about. "you have to tell me, what are we? what am i to you?" matt stares deep into her eyes, wanting to know what she's thinking. he gives up, knowing he'll get nothing.

    "you're everything y/n. you're my everything, you're mine. and us? i have no fucking clue." y/n's eyes widen at his words, "are you fucking with me?" matt quickly shakes his head. "no, you're everything. but i've been scared to talk about it because i don't believe you feel about me as strongly. so i've avoided it." the girl is left speechless, the words she's so desperately wanted to tell him are now caught in her throat. "matt, i want to say something but i don't want to scare you away," y/n whispers. the boy shakes his head, "you could never." she smiles, "i love you, wait you knew that. no, i'm in love with you. i don't love you the way i love your brothers or my nieces." matt just stares at her, debating kissing her. ultimately he kisses her, he grabs the back of her neck and pulls her impossibly close. he puts all the love he's ever felt for her into their kiss, wanting to show her how much he loves her. how in love with her he is. 

    "holy moly," is all y/n can manage to say. matt giggles and pecks her lip one last time, "does that give you an answer?" she shakes her head, "not really, so matt. do you love me?" his hands move from her neck to her back, "you know that i love you, i've loved you forever. you're asking if i'm in love with you." y/n nods, desperate for his answer. "i am so fucking in love with you, y/n. i'm crazy for you." matt reconnects their lips for a quick second, "y/n will you be my girlfriend?" she smiles, "a million times yes, matt." he grins and kisses her again, "you should come on family trips more." y/n giggles, "tell your mom to invite me more." matt nods, "i don't think i'll have to after i tell her that you're my girlfriend." 

the next morning matthew and y/n come out hand in hand, smiling at each other. "i think these two have an announcement." nick smiles proudly at the two. marylou looks at nick and then at matt and y/n. she looks at their connected hands, "me and y/n are finally together." y/n's nieces cheer, "yay! now you are uncle matt." matt laughs and nods, "aw, i'm so happy for you two." marylou hugs the two, jimmy walks to them next. "treat her right or me and you will have problems, matthew. i'm kidding, i know you will. i'm happy for the both of ya." y/n laughs, "thank god, now matt won't come into my room crying because he wants you so bad." chris laughs, "that is so not why." chris rolls his eyes, "i'll explain later." matt whispers into y/n's ear, she simply nods. the two sit on the couch, happy as can be.
