Katherine and Stefan were dancing between others, who were also attending the party in the Lockwood mansion. Damon and Alice were watching them from the side, mostly staring at Katherine, who was smirking since she knew they were looking at her and were being jealous since Stefan was the one dancing with her and not one of them.
"Would you like to dance, Miss Salvatore?" The voice of her annoying fiancΓ©, George Lockwood, came from behind her, causing Alice to turn around and accept his outstretched hand, knowing that if she didn't, she would face her father's anger later at home.
Alice knew that out of her and her siblings, she was definitely her father's favourite. Stefan and Damon didn't try to deny it either. He lost his temper less with her and had never physically hurt her. It's why she always stood up for Damon and Stefan when they did something wrong.
"You are looking extremely beautiful tonight, my lady." George complemented her, one hand on her waist, even tho they were not aloud to touch, making the girl feel uncomfortable.
"Thank you, Mr. Lockwood." Alice politely thanked him.
Alice looked to her right, to her youngest brother and Katherine, just to find the Pierce looking straight at her, before turning her gaze on Damon Salvatore, making Alice follow her eyes.
"Looks like your brother found someone to occupy his time." The words came out of her soon to be fiancΓ©'s mouth, but Alice didn't even make back eye contact with him as she worriedly kept looking at Damon, who was now standing by Elena, dressed in everyday clothes. Not in a long dress like her and Katherine. Damon was holding on to her hands with his own and both of them were smiling as if they were in love with each other.
"Elena?" Alice asked, a frown appearing on her face as the Gilbert looked straight at her before turning around and leaving the room with Damon.
"Don't, Alice." Katherine spoke and Alice saw that she had stopped dancing with Stefan to hold her back from following about the girl and her brother.
Alice ignored Katherine's words and went after the two, using the door they had used to leave the party.
But when Alice opened the door, she wasn't in her long dress anymore or even at the Lockwood mansion. She was in the Grill.
Looking down at her own clothes with confusion on how she suddenly was wearing those clothes. The girl's head went back up and she almost directly found Elena by the pool table, holding the cue stick in the Salvatore's direction. "It's your turn."
As Alice started walking forwards, Damon appeared from the other side of the pool table with two glasses. One for him and another one for Elena.
"Prepare to lose." Damon spoke, leaning in to kiss kiss her lips.
"It hurts, doesn't it?" Katherine spoke from behind her and unlike her, she was still in her long, puffy dress. "Now you know how I feel every time I see you with her."
Alice looked back over to the pool table. Damon's hands were on Elena's waist.
"Don't fight it, Alice. You loved me once, you can do it again." Katherine's palm rested on her cheek, cuffing one side of her face in a loving way.
Alice eyes found the 'couple' once more, but before she knew she was back in the Lockwood mansion, Damon and Elena no were in sight and neither was Stefan or Mr. Lockwood.
"I love you, Alice." Katherine spoke. "We'll be together again. This time forever." The vampires cupped her face again, planting a soft kiss on her lips. Their lips parted again, and Katherine laid her arm around Alice's waist.
Alice shot awake with a gasp, taking a deep breath to realise it had just been a bad dream. Nothing more.
When the girl wanted to lay her head back down, her head touched someone's shoulder, causing Alice to look at the person laying next to her in her own bed, knowing that nobody should be laying there.
When she saw Katherine's face, the girl used her vamp speed to get out of her bed. She knew it was Katherine. Elena wouldn't just have crawled into her bed. Katherine definitely would.
"You have to admit. I'm getting better at this." Katherine smirked at her as she sat up in Alice's bed. "I guess that's why I like you more than your brothers. It took Stefan longer to realise that I wasn't Elena."
When Katherine saw that Alice wanted to rush forwards to attack her, she held up her hand, telling the girl to not even try. "You both know I could rip you to shreds and do my nails at the same time." The vampire stood up from the bed and walked over to Alice.
Unexpectedly, Alice used her speed to push the Pierce girl against the wall, holding Katherine's arm behind her back and leaning in closer to her ear. "You were saying?" This time it was her time to smirk.
"Mhm." Katherine hummed as Alice realised her grip on Katherine so that Katherine could turn around again to stand face to face with her. But instead Katherine looked her up and down, checking her out with her perky shorts and her tight tank top.
"What do you want now, Katherine? Did you just come to annoy me even more?" Alice asked, sitting back down her bed, not at all in the mood to even look in Katherine's direction.
"I wanted to see you. I missed you, Alice. Indulge me for a little while, please?"
"Why are you here?" Alice asked her the same question from a few days ago again.
"3 reasons: you, you and you. Annoying everyone else is just a bonus." Katherine replied with a little giggle.
"You see, I can't quite get that down. Just kind of gets stuck in my throat." Alice spoke as Katherine sat down next to her, making Alice roll her eyes again.
"Well, you know, it's the truth. Deep down inside that gorgeous, gorgeous body of yours there's the Alice that fell in love with me too. And you know that too." Once again Katherine's hand cupped her cheek like in the dream that Katherine had made her dreaming before using one finger to softly trace down Alice's arm.

"You shouldn't read someone's journal, you know? Those are kinda private." Alice spoke, announcing her presence in the living room after she changed clothes.
"I know. I'm sorry. But it was just too tempting. All of your brother's inner thoughts and feelings, laying there on his desk for me to read." Katherine replied as Alice took the journal out of her hand and laid it aside, unlike Damon, who would've definitely read it if he was here instead of her.
"Damon's private stock." Alice continued, looking at Katherine's other hand as she sat down on the couch.
"Yes. Here is yours." Katherine spoke, placing another glass that she took from the table in Alice's hand. "I read about your recent werewolf siting. That must have come as a surprise."
"Why does it not surprise me that you knew that werewolves were a thing?" Alice asked, just getting a smirk in return. "What do you know about them?"
"I know not to pet one. Their bite kills, Alice. It's best to stay clear of them during a full moon." Katherine replied, standing up, still with the glass in her right hand as she walked around.
"Oh, really?" Alice spoke with sarcasm. The vampire opposite her was only telling her things she already knew since Mason tried to eat Caroline. "And how exactly do you know this?"
"Who do you think was responsible for ridding this town of vampires in 1864?" Katherine asked her.
"The founding families."
"Spearheaded by?" Katherine asked, picking up a magnifying glass.
"The Lockwoods." Alice realised.
"You remember the Founders' Ball, don't you? The one that you were dreaming about?"
"It's not exactly the dream I would've chosen, but, yes."
"Stefan was my escort and it was before you and your brothers knew about my little secret. People were torn apart. In a non - vampire style. Well, maybe your brother's but anyway, from the moment I met your fiancΓ©, I knew he would be a problem." Katherine explained, voice sounding sour when she spoke about Alice's ex- fiancΓ©.
"So, you're saying that all of the Lockwoods back then and now are werewolves?" Alice question, rather ignoring the mention of George all together.
"The werewolf gene runs in the Lockwood family. Not that they're all wolves."
"How many are there? I mean, is it just limited to the Lockwood family or are there other families as well?" Alice continued asking.
"No, there are others. Not many. They're practically extinct. They mainly exist now in books and really bad movies." Katherine took another sip before putting the glass down on the table next to the magnifying glass. "My turn to ask you a question, my dear Alice." Katherine smoke, a big smirk appearing on her face as she took something out of her pocket, before handing it over to Alice.
"Why did you keep this picture? Why not burn it? Tear it up?"
"I did not keep the picture. It's Stefan's. I found it after Elena did and then I forgot about it."
You want to know why I came back. Well I have a better question. Why did you? For Elena? No. You came back here to fall in love with me all over again, didn't you? Tell me, Alice. Has she had you the way I had? I mean you want her don't you? Elena. Just like your brother. But let me just tell you Alice. She will never see you more than a friend. She won't. But to me you already are more to me. You have always been."
"You didn't let me finish, Kath. What is it about you that still makes me care?" Alice asked as she stood up and slowly made her way over to her ex-lover, coming to a stop right in front of her. Katherine stared back at her, not having heard Alice call her Kath since 1864.
Katherine leaned in to kiss her, but instead of kissing back, Alice put the vervain dart in her back, making Katherine let out a little gasp, not having expected it at all.
Alice let the girl who turned her into a vampire fall to the couch, gasping from the vervain that was spreading through her system right now.
"Bitch." Alice spoke, before picking the girl up and bringing them to the basement, where she bound the girl to the chair with the chains that were attached on it.
"Now, where exactly were we?" Alice wondered. "Oh, yes, that's right. You were going to tell me why you came back to Mystic Falls."
"You don't have to do this, Alice."
"Just answer the question, Katherine. Don't make this longer than it has to be."
"I came back for you. I told you."
"Is that so?" Alice asked. "Well, if you came back for me, we'll play by my rules now, what do you think about that, huh?" Alice turned around to put on the gloves that were laying behind her, before moving left to take some vervain out of Zach's stack.
The glove protected the Salvatore's hand from burning, but when the girl pushed the vervain on Katherine's cheek, her skin started burning, causing her to scream.
"Now let me say this again. Answer the question."
"You're going to torture me now?" Katherine asked.
"Only if you don't tell me the truth." Alice spoke, throwing the vervain to the side, giving Katherine a look.
"Later that night at the Founders' Ball George came looking for me. It didn't take him long to realize that I knew what he was."
"What did he want from you?" Alice asked her, grabbing the chair that stood next to the door and sitting down opposite Katherine.

"You do realize that we can sit here as long as you want, right? Even so long that when you start to desiccate, there's a tomb with your name on it. I'll even make a really nice bed for you in it. Don't think it will do you much good, but you know."
"Remember that night after the party at the Lockwoods?" Katherine asked and Alice almost immediately knew what she was talking about. "We left the party together."
"How long do you plan on staying in Mystic Falls." Alice asked Katherine as the two of them were walking up the stairs towards their bedrooms since it was starting to become late.
"As long as I'm wanted. Your father has been very kind to give me a shelter." Katherine replied as the two passed through the hallway.
"How could he not? Losing your family in the fire. I'm gratefully you made it to Atlanta." Alice replied with a small smile as Katherine turned to face her.
"So, I gather I'm wanted?"
"Very much so. I know we have only know each other for a short while. A very short while, and I know my brothers have been in a competition for your affections ever since you have arrived in town, but I have never met someone quite like you." Alice spoke, but what Katherine did next surprised her.
The Pierce girl stepped closer to her, grabbing a hold of her hand, and placing her lips on hers. But Alice quickly pulled back.
"Katherine, we cannot. What would-"
"What if I told you it is not your brothers that I wish for?" Katherine asked her, cutting the girl off. "Come on." Katherine said, taking the girl away from the hallway into her room.
"Katherine-" Alice spoke as soon as Katherine closed the door.
"Shhh." Katherine shushed the girl softly by kissing her again.
"Go ahead, Alice. Torture me, keep me captive, drain me of my blood until my body turns to dust. It'll never change the truth. I never compelled your love. It was real and so was mine."

"Hearing the truth after a century and a half of denial must be overwhelming." Katherine said after a while, looking at Alice, who was sitting on the floor, faced away from Katherine, overthinking everything she had just heard.
"It wasn't real. I remember it. You compelled me."
"Not the first few times around. You were so scared of me when you saw what I was. I had to take away your fear."
"Well, good then that all of these 'feelings' I had for you, as you're calling them, turned to hate. All gone." Alice stood up and turned to Katherine once more.
"Love, hate, such a fine line, I can wait. Anyway, your fiancΓ© was causing all sorts of trouble. He used the vampires to cover up his own tracks. He even told the founding families about us. But he was willing to strike a deal with me."
"Let me guess? He is the reason you're the only one to come out alive of that tomb."
"Yes. I practically lit the match."
"How could you do this? They were your friends. Your family. And you just told them out so that you could get out?" Alice sat back down on the chair in front of her.
"Without blinking."
"What did George get in return? For giving you your freedom."
"So you sent 26 of your friends to their death, just to fake your own? No, you were running from something. What was it?"
"Everyone has a past, Alice. Mine needed to stay far far away but thanks to you my plan nearly failed before it even began. Once George told me that the round up was imminent, I made sure I could see you one last time, but your father used your love for me against you, he poisoned your blood. Then Damon being Damon, nearly ruined everything."
"We came for you, we tried to save you."
"I didn't want to be saved."
"So then my brothers and I died for nothing!"
"No, Alice, you died for love." Katherine spoke back.
"You call that love?" Alice asked her with disgust.
π₯ έ ΛΦ΄ ΰ£ͺββ βΉΛ
"Are you gonna tell me why you came back here or you're just playing another game?" Alice asked her after a while.
"Have you not heard a word that I've said? I've answered that question five times over now."
"Okay, than we make it six."
"I want what I want, Alice. And I don't care what I have to do to get it. My list of victims is a long one, and I have no problem adding one more name to that list." Katherine shrugged.
"Come on Katherine. If you wanted anyone dead, you would have done it by now."
"Still can. If I have to, I will snap Elena's little neck like a twig and you know it. I don't want you seeing Elena anymore. If you don't remove her from your life, I will kill everyone that she loves while she watches and then I will kill her while you watch."
"Oh, are you jealousy, Kathy?" Alice spoke, but couldn't help to feel worried for Elena, knowing that Katherine would follow her word if Alice didn't do what she wanted. But she couldn't lose Elena. The girl had been such a friend to her ever since she came back to Mystic Falls.
Katherine scoffed, before throwing the Salvatore to the wall opposite her, before getting the chains off herself, catching Alice by surprise, who still thought that the vervain was affecting her. Making her weaker.
"I have been sipping vervain every single day for the last 145 years. You caught me by surprise once, I wasn't gonna let it happen again. It doesn't hurt me one bit, Alice."
"Hello? Alice!" Two voices came from upstairs. She regonized one as Elena's and one as her brother's. Katherine looked up with a smirk, before grabbing a stake that had been laying on the ground somewhere, stabbing the stake deep in Alice her leg and then leaving the cellar.
"Fuck!" Alice cursed as she quickly removed the stake from her leg again and rushing upstairs to find only Elena. "Where's Stefan?" Alice worriedly asked her, but not missing her upset look.
"He went after Katherine."
"Hey, are you okay, Elena?" Alice asked, walking over to the girl.
"Not really." Elena responded, shaking her head.
"It's okay." Alice spoke, embracing the Gilbert, who quickly hugged her back.
Alice knew that she had to do what Katherine wanted. She didn't want Elena to die just because of her. If it meant, keeping Elena safe, even if she didn't want to avoid the girl or not talk to her, she would. She cared too much now.
