๐๐๐ peaked an eye open before shutting it quickly with the light blaring through the curtains and let out a soft groan. Kiyanna wrapped her arms tighter around the werewolf, one securely around her stomach and the other acted as a pillow for Hayley.
Deciding she would allow herself a moments piece with the scent of apples and the outdoors encasing her. The hybrid's head dug into the crook of Hayley's neck a seamless silence waiting to be punctured when the other one woke.
But then her breath halted in her throat and she slowly pulled her head back looking down at her arms draped across the werewolf's form protectively. Kiyanna listened out trying to focus on any sounds that weren't the babes or mothers soothing heart beats. There was no other sound in the house and when glancing at the clock on the nightstand it read 10:50 Am.
She grunted slightly at the time wondering how she could've slept in so late and carefully tried to move away without waking Hayley. She managed to stand before the werewolf stretched with her eyes still closed and Kiyanna froze before she simply brought the covers up to her chin and turned her back to the hybrid.
She let out a breathy chuckle followed by a small grin that was quickly hidden and snook out of the room as quietly as she could. What she didn't see was the werewolf laying on her side with her eyes wide open and lip dug under her teeth in thought of how quick Kiyanna left her as soon as she woke.
The blonde made her way downstairs and searched for her twin without wanting to raise her voice to a shout. She peeked through the blinds and saw neither his nor Rebekah's car in the drive and huffed before making her way to the kitchen for a drink.
'"It's noon somewhere," she muttered before pouring the bourbon in the glass and sipping it before plucking a piece of card with her name on it from behind the bottle.
Kiyanna I have ventured with Rebekah to retrieve our brother and Marcellus' weapon that keeps his hold over the witches.
P.S keep an eye on your darling
She scoffed at the last part and downed the rest of the glass, it wasn't that she minded babysitting the werewolf and her unborn child. Yet he left without calling for her for their plan they had been working on for days, perfected every imperfection and he left with Rebekah.
Klaus had a good intentions at heart when he left his twin behind he barged into her room but sniffed the air following her trail to Hayley's room and stopped at the door. He heard the soft breaths and calming heart beats of Kiyanna and his littlest wolf from behind the door and left quickly.
Well she thought to herself I suppose a pregnant woman would like breakfast in bed. She went to grab the eggs from the cupboard and milk from the fridge when she heard Hayley's footsteps coming downstairs.
She briskly walked Into the kitchen giving Kiyanna a small glance and smile before taking the milk from her and box of cereal along with a spoon. However she didn't take a bowl and simply wordlessly left plopping herself down on the couch and switching the television on.
The original watched everything Hayley did still standing there with the box of eggs in had. She scratched the back of her head wondering why all she got was a rather awkward look.
"Darling?" She asked as she stepped into the living room making Hayley pause as she was about to poor the milk in the box.
"Yes?"
"Are you alright?"
Hayley hummed and just stared at the tv, "of course I am why wouldn't I be?"
Her tone was short making Kiyanna try and connect the dots to what was the problem, "have I done something to upset you?"
Hayley sighed realising she was overreacting at the fact that all Kiyanna had done was leave her in bed without a word. "No, no it's nothing."
Kiyanna hummed but said nothing more and took the cereal from her grasp along with the milk, "would you like an omelet?"
Hayley's eyes lit up and she nodded, "please."
Using her speed she zipped back into the kitchen and turned on the stove she was cracking the eggs into the pan when a nock at the door stopped her.
She walked out to see Hayley about to open the door, "stop," she grabbed her hand and pushed her away so she'd be behind the door when it opened.
Kiyanna scowled when she realised it was one of the witches, "what do you want?"
An awkward hand was extended her way, "I'm Agnes, here to check on Hayley and the baby." Kiyanna just glared lasers into the outstretched hand until Hayley pushed her aside.
"You're who Sabine sent," Hayley said with much kinder eyes before walking back into Kiyanna which forced the vampire to move out of the way with her lips upturned.
Hayley lead her into the sitting room, Agnes on one couch and Hayley on the other whilst Kiyanna stood behind the brunette beauty with her arms folded. "I told you Agnes, I feel great."
"You're overdue for a checkup." Kiyanna glanced down at Hayley when the witch said these words, why hadn't she said anything?
"What am I gonna do exactly? Pop into the doctors office for a ultrasound, a pregnant werewolf escorted by a witch and original vampire, nothing to see here." Kiyanna but her cheek to prevent a smile as she didn't want to no longer intimidate the witch but found it adorable that the werewolf already assumed she'd come with her.
"I know a doctor out in the Bayou," Agnes glanced up at Kiyanna for a second but flickered her eyes quickly back to Hayley. The vampire caught onto this as she had been watching her for the slightest of mistrust ever since she stepped into the house. "I took the liberty of making an appointment for you, tonight, after hours, just us. Vampires will never get word of it."
Hayley eyed her suspiciously and looked up at Kiyanna who was already looking down, she was silently asking if she should go. The original nodded, "okay, fine, Bayou baby doctor it is," Hayley said and made her way to get up whilst Kiyanna followed on her heels.
"She can't come," Agnes sheepishly told from behind and the two women whipped round to face her.
"She doesn't go if I am not there," the witch went to speak up again, "one more word and I'll be forced to remove your teeth." Agnes looked to turn ten shades lighter and she wearily nodded before Kiyanna turned away with a sneer and a gentle hand on Hayley's back to guide her out of the house. The werewolf walked slightly slower so the vampire didn't feel tempted to remove her hand.
"You know you didn't have to come with me," Hayley assured as Kiyanna drove them into the Bayou following after the witch. She pulled the gear on the car and opened her own door before speeding over to open it for Hayley who have her a smile.
"I know," she held her arm out for the werewolf to take and she did so with ease before walking into the doctors. There was a door labelled Doctor Paige and Kiyanna opened it without warning to meet the surprised face of the doctor.
"Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't expecting," she trailed off and Kiyanna easily picked up on the increase of her heart beating. "I wasn't expecting you as well."
"It was a quick decision," Kiyanna briefly said and leaned over by the cupboards. As she applied the ultrasound gel Hayley looked over to her and held out her hand, the vampire came over in the second and gentle held it within her own.
"You've got yourself a healthy baby," the doctor smiled at Hayley. Kiyanna listened herself with her ears twitching at the small beats and couldn't stop the small grin herself.
"I knew it, she's a tough one, like her mom," Hayley toothily smiled up at Kiyanna who gave her a small wink. The werewolf wiped the gel off of herself and Kiyanna handed her cardigan when she once again heard the doctors heart racing.
"That's a unique birth mark."
Hayley looked up at Kiyanna but she was silently staring daggers into the head of the blonde woman, "we're pretty much done here, right?"
Dr Paige shook her head, "your blood pressure is a bit high, I've got something for it," she gave a blinding smile that seemed all too fake. The doctor walked over to Agnes and spoke in what looked to be normal, boring conversation that Kiyanna felt no need to listen in to. A howl of a wolf pierced the girls ears and they looked to the window to see several more headlights appear and Hayley and Kiyanna looked to one another. Agnes said no one would know.
The original was now balancing on her toes as she was ready to lunge, "ah, you know I'm- I'm actually not good with pills." Hayley stood from the bench and now stood so she was slightly behind Kiyanna who narrowed her eyes at the woman.
"Neither am I, truth be told," the doctor laughed weakly and Kiyanna could see the beads of sweat that formed on her brow. She turned to see a group of men, dressed in black before whispering words that didn't quite sound like any language at all. Dr Paige turned back around with a syringe and looked to rethink her life's choices as she looked between the werewolf and the vampire.
As she went to take a step Kiyanna was quick to twist her wrist and impale it into her own neck before kicking her with a grunt towards the men, sending some down like bowling pins. She sped over to shut the door and lock it whilst elbowing the window so it cracked and held a hand up for Hayley to escape out of.
"I'll be right behind you, love," as she went to take back her hand Hayley gripped onto her jacket.
"But- I can't just leave you," Hayley looked frantic as she looked between the banging of the door and Kiyanna's almost unbothered blue eyed gaze.
"Darling, go, I'll find you," the sounding of her words filled with such confidence gave Hayley the sense to nod her head and run as fast as she could. The door knob blew off the door as it gave in with one final kick, witches she thought in disdain. They each held their hands out and opened their mouths but Kiyanna was quick to throw sets of scalpels and scissors, some landing in their chest or their mouths.
With a grotesque fashion she plunged her hands into a set of chests and ripped out their hearts before slicing her fingers clean through some necks, easily separating a head from a body.
She sighed out before looking to the door where she saw no Agnes and punched the doorframe in fury, leaving a large dent. She hurriedly walked outside and tried to smell the air but was overrun with multiple scents, they weren't alone. As her breath quickened at the thought of Hayley being captured she knew of a stronger way to be able to sniff out the woman.
Kiyanna cried out lightly before grinding her teeth at the feeling of her bones snapping back into different places as she was forced onto her knees. Her eyes flashed a golden hue with her fur coat black apart from a long stripe down her back that was discoloured to a lighter shade.
Now, as she changed she sniffed the air again and her ears twitched upwards with a growl before she ran after Hayley's scent. As she ran she saw many dead bodies on the floor with either claw marks dug into them or plain trails of blood.
She heard a yelp and saw a large, burly man stood over her whilst she was on the ground holding her stomach. He must have heard the snapping of twigs as he turned to see a giant, pony sized wolf pounce form the undergrowth with its claws outstretched and jaw unhinged, that was the last thing he saw before his face was ripped off.
Hayley gaped at the sight and backed away whilst clutching her stomach till she hit the trunk of a tree. The Wolf looked behind and around, sniffing the air harshly before sitting on its hind legs and simply staring at Hayley.
The pregnant werewolf didn't know what to do as she stared into those golden eyes with its snout covered in blood. The Wolf lowered its head and took slow, careful steps towards Hayley as she didn't want to frighten her before gentle nudging her booted foot with her nose.
Hayley looked unsure of her answer as she tilted her head, "Kiyanna?"
At the sound of her name her head perked up and Hayley smiled for the first time since the attack, her wolf side in her eyes was beautiful. A strong chest with a long nose and slender body but was accompanied by muscled legs and shoulders, a strange stipe down her back that would let Hayley always know who she was. And her eyes, the bronze orbs that she adored so dearly were still well kept in this body.
Hayley reached out to pet the top of her head and Kiyanna let her as she settled besides her until she was ready to move and rested her head in her lap. Her ear was propped up against her stomach so she could hear the dull, soft heartbeat of the baby in her belly. The werewolf smiled once more at this as she continued to stoke patterns on her head until a crunching of shrubbery made Kiyanna now alert.
The two both stared ahead and Kiyanna now stood up but stayed near Hayley, her body tense until another wolf emerged from the bushes.
It was grey and possibly smaller than Kiyanna but that didn't stop the growl that rumbled in her chest as she moved to stand in front of the woman behind her who now stood up. The original was prepared for a fight and it seemed this other wolf was too as it crouched to the ground and prepared to pounce.
Kiyanna barked behind her to Hayley, as a way of telling her to go back and oddly enough she understood. Although, she walked away wearily slow with her front still facing the two wolves and within a split second of her walking back the wolf pounced on Kiyanna.
But she was stronger and pinned it to the floor with its claws digging into its shoulders and snapped her mouth around the neck. It's sharp teeth puncturing the skin and she tasted the blood all over again, it's back legs kicked at her stomach and she was thrown off.
She rose quickly but still managed to get nicked with its claws against her stomach, she nipped at its shoulders again except with her teeth. It only managed to bite her front leg before she attacked the same spot in its neck once more, viciously and the final blow. It mewled and pulled itself away before hobbling as fast as it could into the forest, Kiyanna could have gone after it but she was tired and needed to get back to Hayley before anything else could happen.
When she returned to the doctors office she saw her brother standing over a dazed looking Hayley and her sister crouched next to her. Klaus was quick to turn round with his eyes wide, "sister!"
He was alarmed at the amount on blood and opened the boot of the car hastily with spare clothes before tossing them behind a tree, allowing her to change in privacy. With a groan she stretched her human legs that were glad in some joggers with small cuts underneath the fabric.
The top half of her body was lined with blood, splashes littering her face with the red liquid and a mark on her neck that was becoming fainter as she healed herself.
"Are you alright? What happened?" Klaus worriedly asked as he stood in front of her with his hands resting on her shoulders, whilst his eyes trailed up and down her form. They flashed in fury, he would be sure to exterminate the rest of the leeches that threatened to harm her.
"Just an attack, organised by some traitorous witches." She sneered and ur bed away her own blood on her neck but she saw her twins concerned look and smiled to him. "I'm alright Nik, I promise," Kiyanna looked over his shoulder to the werewolf girl who looked like she had her heart in her hands as she stared at the vampires bloodied form. "And you, darling?"
Hayley didn't seem to snap out of her dazed expression and sort of strung a sentence together, "yeah, I'm- I'm okay."
Rebekah, who was sat on the porch with the pregnant girl, looked from her sisters eyes that were shinning with care to the werewolf's who's were cloudy with fear. She was frightened at the amount of blood she had seen on the woman, how selflessly she had protected Hayley, never once thinking of what could happen to herself. It baffled Hayley once more as she couldn't understand as how someone like that could be called a beast.
Kiyanna caught Rebekah's gaze and saw her eyebrows slightly furrowed and troubled face but she just nodded, this time more noticeable. Her little sister would always worry for her elder, after all, she had done the same when they were children.
"We should go," Klaus said with his head twisting in all directions with disgust before they settled on Hayley.
She nodded and wobbly rose to her feet, Rebekah kept a close eye on her as she watched from her seat and Kiyanna had already taken a step forwards. Within a few short steps, from exhaustion and stress, Hayley would have landed face first in the dirt if not for strong arms scooping her up and holding her to their chest.
Kiyanna's thumbs lightly stroked against her shoulder and thigh whilst cooing softly to her, "I've got you, love." Her tone was hushed but still prominent with her warm British accent that made Hayley nestle her head further into her chest and sigh tiredly, the flush on her cheeks being disguised by the hoodie Kiyanna wore.
