๐Š๐ˆ๐˜๐€๐๐๐€ stayed in bed the entirety of the morning she went to sleep with a full stomach and warm fuzzy feeling encasing her in a deep slumber. Her twin had barged the door open and started rambling about Marcel and the power he had over the witches but it seemed the loud thud hadn't even startled her awake.

He left her in a huff before seeing Rebekah walking in the same direction he came from and made her turn the other way.

Until Rebekah kicked the door open looking panicked and worried stricken, "Kiyanna!" She had to shout and was baffled by how she didn't wake up from the loud noise.

Her elder sister groaned peaking an eye open before shutting it and rolling over so her face was in the pillow and her back was to Rebekah, "what is it," she groaned lowly into her pillow, "I was having the most marvellous dream."

"Hayley's missing."

This made Kiyanna sit fully up in bed with her shoulder tensed and sleep ridden eyes wide, Rebekah could've laughed at how alert she now looked but these were dire times.

"Fuck," she muttered before speeding out of bed and getting dressed quickly she passed Rebekah who hurried after her, "search every corner of the city leave no stone unturned," Kiyanna hissed to her sister before setting off.

Her undead heart raced in her chest as she loomed in all the shops searching for a head of brown hair and trying to rely on her sense of smell more than anything. Trying to find the overwhelming apple and forest but she was left with blood and sweat apart from when she got to an empty part of town.

A place where no humans went she let out a low growl her eyes flashing a dangerous gold when she saw three vampires trapping Hayley. She snapped a metal sharp pole from the fence and roughly threw it at the vampire that looked to have a burned face. It stuck him in the heart and he fell dead in seconds the other two of Marcel's men whipped round ready to fight but Kiyanna already had her hands lodged into their chest and ripped their hearts out with ease.

Hayley let out a relieved breath but it soon fell when she saw the look on Kiyanna's face and rather the vampires try to attack her than have the original look at her like she was now.

"Why can't you just do as your told?"

The tone in which she said it made Hayley hang her head in shame but Kiyanna couldn't feel bad about her words. She had successfully tanked her and her brothers plan with Rebekah leading a trail of dead vampires and herself just adding three more to the list the Mikaelson family were the common denominators.

But when she smelt something strong and stingy she looked at the cup on the floor and a small bottle on the bench she sniffed the air and felt herself cringe at it. Wolfsbane. Kiyanna looked from the vile to Hayley who was rubbing her stomach in soothing circles and all the anger that she felt towards the werewolf dissipated. She wanted to rid herself of the baby, she wanted to be rid of the tie she would forever have to her family to Kiyanna herself.

"Did you?" Kiyanna trailed off her voice much softer than before as if afraid Hayley was the finest china she's ever held.

"No," Hayley spoke up wearily almost scared of her own words but it made Kiyanna let out a relieved sigh. She kept it but would she have if the vampires didn't interrupt her?

She looked down at the bodies on the floor and knew had to hide them but she had to get Hayley to safety first luckily her sister appeared behind her in seconds.

"Bloody bell that was fast," she looked at the three dead vampires and her sisters blood ridden hands.

"I need you to hide them somewhere, burn them, chop them up and flush them somewhere- I don't care," her words were cold and short. She was frustrated with herself, Hayley and her family all at the same time. Rebekah felt the hopes of rekindling with her sister dwindle and a sickening reality that Kiyanna would never be as she once was a thousand years ago that was until she picked up Hayley in a bridal style and held her with such security.

The pregnant girl squeaked at the change before realising she would soon have to get used to this if she was to keep the child and she couldn't wait.

Kiyanna stopped outside the house and set Hayley down before looking over her for any injuries and subtly listening to both her own and the baby's heart beat. She looked her in her eyes with such intensity Hayley felt like she was tripping over her own feet without even moving, "whatever you do don't tell Klaus why you were really there."

Hayley was stunned Kiyanna Mikaelson the most feared woman on earth was willing to help her keep such a big secret from her big bad hybrid twin, the man she knew for more than a thousand years. And Hayley felt her heart do summersaults at the notion but it was her last words that stuck with her, "and if you ever change your mind no one will hold it against you," Kiyanna told her sincerely.

It was then that Klaus burst open the doors with a furious expression and Kiyanna remained blank faced but had her left arm hovering in front of her slightly.

"Where have you been?" He was looking behind them and around to see if they had been followed but Kiyanna had been going too fast for any ordinary vampire to follow them.

"She was in the French quarter some nasty vampires had her cornered," she watched the dark glare overcome her bothers face at the news, "it was no bother I handled them and Rebekah will make sure their bodies will not be found."

Klaus looked both perplexed and pleased with the information he's heard when Rebekah appeared next to the two with dirty hands. "Cramming three vampires into a sewer is not a easy job," she glanced at her hands and made a face but when she noticed the twins tenseness she froze slightly. They were either about to fight or craft a devious plan that could be even worse than the one they already had cooked up.

"Are you certain you had not been seen?" He was assured his twin would not have been seen but his younger sister was clumsy and daft at times.

"I am sure that if anyone did see me then Marcel would be at our door with his army of vampires," Kiyanna scowled at the mention of an army thinking they would be nothing more than her things to play with if she got the chance to get her hands on them. But the plan she and Klaus had spoken about required patients and precision however Hayley leaving the house was a close call for them today.

Klaus tore his eyes away from Rebekah and stared at Hayley a while longer with his eyes squinted and Kiyanna knew he was trying to get her to crack without him even having to ask his question again given that his twin answered for her. But their little sister piped up again, "and in fact I would like to say that if anyone jeopardised your stupid plan it would've been you," she pointed to Klaus when they were inside the house and he looked at her in shock before pointing to himself.

"And may I ask why?"

"This plan you and Kiyanna are banging on about seems to be nothing short of a lie as I am yet to see any evidence of a plan in the first place." Rebekah snarked to her brother and sister who medley got a scoff and a roll of their eyes in return. Of course she wouldn't understand that taking a kingdom is like playing chess and she was never good at chess.

Klaus glowered at her and Kiyanna mirrored his expression making Hayley nearly forget which sibling was which until she felt cold when the hand that made itself home on her lower back pulled away.

"I have been making moves it is just that I do not tell you anything because no one trusts that you can keep your opinions to yourself," the twins shared a glance of understanding with one another.

"Ana we simply do not trust you to not go running off to Marcel, we can't trust you when a lover of yours is involved," counting back to the many times Rebekah wanted to leave or turn them into a vampire. Knowing quite well that when Rebekah found the next thing that took her interest they'd have a wondering vampire on their hands.

"You've never given me the chance to prove it," Rebekah defended but when Klaus raised his eyebrow at her she was reminded of their time in Mystic Falls. It may have been some time ago but the memory was still fresh in the twins' mind when she lured them to the town and Mikael appeared within seconds. The wretched man managed to scrape the white oak along Kiyanna's heart when Stefan came out of nowhere saving her life, she thought she'd be indebted to him until Klaus let go of the hand he had on him and in the next breath he'd taken their daggered family.

Finn had begged to be daggered after the supposed love of his life, Sage had been murdered by their father nearly four hundred years ago. He sought out a sleep filled darkness rather than living his life without love so, when he had the silver knife pulled out of him by his mother he'd never hated her more. Yet, when their family was whole once again he'd never been happier and thought he didn't have to go to sleep again until he had been killed.

Kol had been daggered on his own account when he opened his big mouth to their nosey sister who spilled the beans to the twins and turned his own creation onto him. He'd sleep for a time until Kiyanna pulled the dagger out and they'd have their fun he wouldn't have ever been daggered for century after century but he lived his life. Partying and drinking all he wanted until he got a call to come to Mystic Falls Kol wasn't fussed his mother was back from the dead and kept his attention on Kiyanna. They had their own ambitions trying to see if they could let Kol practice magic some way even if he was a vampire but their work was cut short when the Gilbert siblings ended his life.

Kiyanna had avenged both her siblings death within a week and was left with nothing but resentment and pain.

"Rebekah if we did that then we would've already been caught out," Klaus clipped back smartly and she averted her gaze to the ceiling, "now does anyone have anymore questions?" He was being dramatic and Kiyanna rolled her eyes but no one said anything, "no? Good because I have a question Hayley," he spat her name in a voice that his twin didn't find funny, "what were you doing in the bloody French quarter in the first place."

Hayley played with her fingers occasionally looking between Klaus and Kiyanna's gaze that was not on her but her brother, she was sizing him up.

"Answer me!" He grew frustrated and shouted at the silent girl making Kiyanna lift her top lip in annoyance.

"Calm yourself," she sternly told him and he glanced at her shortly before Hayley lost her cool with Klaus' tone and pushed herself off the wall.

"Do you wanna know what I was doing," Hayley couldn't help herself and Kiyanna closed her eyes in frustration, "I was putting your little baby out of it's misery."

Kiyanna saw the dark look that casted over Klaus's face he was engrossed in the anger and her muscles tensed readying herself. Nik only managed to make it to within reaching distance of Hayley before she grabbed him by the throat and sped him against the wall.

He gasped loudly at the sudden change and became small under the glare of his twin whom looked like death was upon them. "Do not touch her," she all but hissed to him and Klaus quickly nodded before she dropped him to the floor still giving him a harsh stare.

Klaus looked up at her from where he sat with his back against the wall eyes wide and in shock, "you were about to put your hands on a woman. A pregnant woman Niklaus!" She raised her voice at him and he wished his anger hadn't blinded him, he wished that he didn't have to always do something wrong. "I can't even look at you."

Kiyanna was disgusted and embarrassed by her twins actions. From growing up with two girls as his sisters, you'd think he'd know how to treat a lady right but it appears not.

Rebekah had stared at the scene with wide eyes as did Hayley at how easy she'd managed to apprehend Klaus with only using her hand and some harsh words. Kiyanna gave him one last glance before walking over to Hayley and placing a gentle hand on her elbow, one that hadn't been used to strangle her twin.

"I think you should head to bed," she said but it sounded more as a command than anything else and with a thankful smile Hayley waddled up the stairs with a hand on her stomach and into her room.

Kiyanna whirled back round to her twin who had stayed where he had been dropped to, Klaus stared at the floor with his arms resting on his knees. She looked to Rebekah and nodded to him before they both went and sat either side of him.

"You can not do that ever again Nik," Kiyanna spoke much more calmly than before when she saw the guilt ridden state he was in but still didn't look at him and instead stared at the chipped paint opposite her.

Klaus sighed loudly in disarray with his actions, "I know." Rebekah felt the corners of her lips twitch upwards because after all these years her brother still seemed the recognition from Kiyanna.

"I thought we agreed that it is okay to show that you care for the baby," she recalled their words on the bench and he nodded timidly. He was ashamed in himself and only wanted her forgiveness so Klaus reached for her hand like a child.

She let him hold her hand and gave it a small squeeze in recognition, "I'm sorry," he said lowly but Kiyanna was quick to correct him.

"Don't say it to me," she casted her eyes up the stairs where Hayley had gone up before, "say it to her." Klaus let out a stressed sigh before nodding to both himself and his twin feeling the nervousness leave him when she used her other hand to trace a small moon on top of his hand like when they were children.

"I gave Elijah to Marcel," Klaus told his other sister seeming unbothered and Rebekah lost all sympathy and turned to shock and anger.

"You bartered our brother," she gaped and Kiyanna was quick to point out the benefits that came with it.

"It was to earn Marcel's trust," she defended harshly when she saw the glare Rebekah was giving her twin and the blonde snapped her eyes to her sister with urgency.

"Of course your on his side," she rolled her eyes but swallowed shallowly when two pairs of golden eyes flashed at her the same reasons. Rebekah's tone was something they didn't take kindly too and found it rather offensive.

"Watch yourself Rebekah, remember your still the little sister here," Kiyanna warned lowly making Rebekah cast her eyes to the floor whilst Klaus gave her hand another squeeze.

"I did what I did for the greater good so if you don't like that then leave," he and Kiyanna rose to their feet before he made his way up the stairs to apologise and Kiyanna made her way to the kitchen, "see if I care."

And with that he left her in silence whilst Kiyanna silently went to get herself a drink, preferably something stronger than water but her elbow was harshly tugged back.

"Why did you let him do this?" Rebekah was in shock at how much darker her sister had become she remembered a time when the daggers hadn't been used in centuries but now it seemed Kiyanna might as well have been the one using them as well. It made Rebekah question wether or not her sister truly was damned but when Kiyanna said her next words she thanked whoever was listening on her prayers.

"To protect Hayley," Kiyanna sneered as if it was the most obvious answer, "nothing can happen to her or the baby," was all she said before sauntering off into the kitchen with a grunt.

Rebekah was left stunned at her answer before looking up at the stairs and hearing her brothers honest apology to the wolf before slightly smiling. The twins weren't to be lost in the sea of darkness this woman and child was going to save the Mikaelson family wether they knew it or not.

Rebekah sat outside on the porch with Hayley telling her about her family and old lovers that had been killed by either Klaus or Kiyanna's hand. Not long after they began to talk of the female Mikaelson completely forgetting their manners on not to talk about someone when they're not there.

"She used to be different you know," Rebekah starred and nearly laughed at how Hayley looked on the edge of her seat at the mention of Kiyanna's name. "She was never cruel or a conniving little shit like Niklaus," she huffed and felt saddened at how she watched her sister change but never did anything to stop it.

"What was she like?" Hayley was desperate to know more about the woman that had been so gentle with her but at times completely iced her out in another second. It was as if she was the pregnant one with her moods and emotions flipping half a minute, it frustrated the Marshall girl.

Rebekah smiled and looked off into the forest in front of them and with the fond look in her eyes Hayley knew she was reminiscing old memories.

"Back when we were human she was kind not whatever that is," she casted her hand back at the house where he sister was, "Kiyanna was who I wanted to be when I grew up and the only thing that hasn't changed is her need to protect the ones she loves."

Hayley felt her heart skip a beat at the words and felt the tips of her ears turning red, Rebekah smelt the blood from where she sat and gave the werewolf a smile. "I know you like her but I must warn you my sister hasn't had the best track record with women so she will continue to protect you but always end up pushing you away, Hayley."

Rebekah expected the girl to become saddened by this news but instead she got a fire awoken inside of her and the original watched Hayley lift her head up stubbornly.

"Not if I have anything to say about it."
