ย  ย ย  PARIS TURNS to see who it is and saw a man probably in his early 20s with a dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and a disturbingly scary aura. But Paris, being her usual self, is attracted to the mystery that this guy certainly holds and she wants to know who he is.

"Hello to you, too." Paris replied with slight confusion present in her voice. The man smirks when sheย replied, indicating that she's the type of girl that doesn't follow their parents' warning to not talk to strangers.

"Judging by the puzzled look on your face, you don't know who I am." The man said. Paris is captivated by the strong British accent that this man has and she suddenly remembers something from school earlier.

"You're that man, Klaus, aren't you?" Paris asked. An amused grin appears on his lips and a small chuckle leaves his lips after she puts all the pieces together.

"You really are quite a mystery solver." The man, Klaus, said. Paris can sense the terrifying aura that envelopes his entire being but she ignored it, not wanting to show any signs of weaknesses. Little did she know, that she's talking to the Original Hybrid himself.

"Yes, I am. But there is one mystery that I can't quite solve yet." Paris said as she narrows her eyes at the hybrid.

"What is it, love?"

"Why are you talking to me?"

"Well, I just want to know something."ย  Klaus said before he approaches the young lady.

Paris starts to back away step by step but Klaus grabs her by the arm and looks straight into her eyes. Before Paris could even defend herself, Klaus compels her.

"What's your relationship with Damon Salvatore?" he compels her. The young lady is getting confused and she decides to just yank her arm off of his grip and run away. But to her surprise, she did not do all of that and instead, she answers his question unknowingly.

"Acquaintances. We just met yesterday." she said. The brunette in internally confused but she can't help but just answer everything that Klaus wanted to know.

"Do you know who I am?"

"You're Klaus."

"Apart from that, do you know anything about me?"

"No."

Klaus pauses for a moment when he realizes that Paris is just a normal high schooler in Mystic Falls. She has no idea about the supernatural world whatsoever. Which makes her the perfect leverage against the Salvatore's and their friends considering that she is Meredith's sister and that Damon is quite fond of her.

"Are you attending the dance tonight?"

"I'm not sure"

"And why is that?"

"I have nothing to wear."

Klaus smirks at her answer and continues to compel her.

"Forget this ever happened and that you met me. You will remember, however, that you ordered a dress and is due to be delivered into your doorstep for the next hour." Klaus compels her before he disappears while Paris is blinking to recover from the trance she was in.

Paris tilts her head in confusion as to why she's still outside instead of inside her house. After a moment of thinking, she finally turns to her house and starts to approach it until she's inside.

โ™

Paris lies on her bed as she waited for both her dress and her sister to arrive. The young human looks up to her ceiling and begins to trace random things in the air.

She eventually sits up and looks at the bulletin board in front of her where newspaper cuttings of recent unexplained animal attacks are placed. She glances to every newspaper as she thinks deeply about the subject.

"What are you hiding?" she muttered even though she's just by herself. She's been trying to solve the biggest mystery in Mystic Falls ever since she came back from her vacation. She tried to let it go. But she just can't.

This mystery is like a powerful magnet, whatever she does, she always end up drawn back to it, no matter how hard she resists. Therefore, she stopped resisting. And continues to solve it as if her life depends on it.

A knock on the front door of her house snaps her out of her thoughts before she climbs out of her bed and runs down the stairs. She twists the knob and it reveals... no one.

Her eyebrows knit in confusion but that confusion was washed away as soon as she saw the white rectangular box on the floor. She reaches for the box and eventually closes the door when she got inside.

She goes to the living room and opens the box, revealing a beautiful silver fringe dress. The theme of the dance is the 20s, explaining the choice of fashion.

Paris stares at the dress in awe as she brushes her fingers through the fringes. Eventually, Meredith arrives from work, noticing her sister standing still in the living room while she looks at the dress.

"Now that is gorgeous. Where did you get it?" Meredith said. Paris doesn't move or at least glance at her sister because she's too preoccupied admiring the shines that the fabric of the dress makes when it makes contact with the light.

"I ordered it yesterday." Paris answered.

"Where?" Meredith asked again, since Paris didn't really answer the question properly. Paris once again furrows her eyebrows in confusion as she tries to remember where she got it.

She finally looks at her sister but still with a puzzled look before she answers. "I-I don't know." she answered. Now both the Fell sisters are confused by Paris's answer.

"What do you mean you don't know?" Meredith asked. Suspicion is now creeping into Meredith's mind, hoping that this isn't a doing of a vampire.

"I don't remember..." Paris answered. Meredith's confusion is gone and it's replaced with hidden anger.

"...I must've forgotten. Maybe it's from the clothing shop down the block." Paris added, dismissing her memory lapse.

"Well, how much is it?" Meredith asked again, trying to confirm something and when Paris answered, it's confirmed.

"I... still don't remember." Paris answered. Even Paris became confused at the missing memory in her mind. How can she forget something like that? It's unlike her to forget something, since she's very observant.

Meredith looks down at her wrist and found out that she isn't wearing her bracelet that Meredith gave her when they moved to Mystic Falls. A bracelet that has vervain to protect her from compulsion.

"Where's your bracelet?"

"What is this twenty questions? I left it before I went to school." Paris answered again and with that, she grabs the box that contains the dress and takes it upstairs so she could prepare for the dance.

โ™

Paris looks at herself in the full-body mirror and she could not believe what she sees in it. The dress hugs her body perfectly and the silver color of it compliments her skin magnificently. Her hair is in a low bun and her makeup suits her, thanks to Meredith.

"One more thing." Meredith said. She takes out a silver necklace from its packaging and holds it out in front of Paris so that she can see it.

Her lips part as she is mesmerized by the gorgeous thing dangling in front of her. "That's beautiful." said Paris. She wants to wear the necklace 'cause she think that it would go perfectly well with the dress. Meredith, on the other hand, wants her to wear the necklace to protect her from the very thing that she suspects earlier when Paris couldn't remember where she bought the dress. Compulsion.

The necklace contains herbs of vervain in one of the gems, making her immune to the compulsion of a vampire.

Paris reaches to her chest to touch the necklace that rests just below her collar bone.

A knock on the front door interrupts her from admiring the necklace and assumes that it's her friend Dana.

"I should go," Paris said before she walks out of her room while Meredith follows suit.

Paris opens the door and it shows her good friend Dana. Dana eyes her from head to toe with her eyes widened and her lips parted. She is pleasantly surprised over the fact that she looks incredible even with minimal time to prepare for the dance.

"I'm jealous right now." Dana commented. The brunette rolls her eyes and laughs at her friend's comment before she glances at her sister one more time.

"See you at the dance?" Paris asked and Meredith just nodded. Meredith is going to the dance since Alaric invited her to become his date. Paris doesn't mind though, even though her sister's going to be at the dance, constantly watching her. She doesn't have anything to hide.

The gymnasium of the Mystic Falls High School is filled with students in their 20s get up. The gym's also decorated how they think it's decorated during that decade and they did a pretty good job, thanks to a few participants who were actually alive in that decade and still alive right now.

Paris, who is not so enjoying herself, stands before the punch table as she drinks the horrible punch that she, later on, throws away.

Paris's green orbs with blue and grey specs roam around the gymnasium to find anyone she recognizes and found Matt and his friends, Elena, Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler, and Stefan.

The sight of the younger Salvatore brother made her think about the eldest one. She wonders whether or not he's here, even though he isn't in high school. But who knows? Meredith's here.

Meanwhile, Meredith is by the bleachers together with Alaric. The two silently argue as they talk about the compulsion incident on Paris, who they suspect is the one with the raven hair and icy blue eyes that loves leather jacket and sarcasm.

"Then who else would it be?" Meredith asked him. Alaric has been defending Damon ever since their argument started, and Meredith is getting frustrated over the fact that he's trying to make her think that his best friend is innocent, well in this situation. In other situations though, let's just say 'innocent' isn't in his vocabulary, or anyone's in the scooby doo supernatural gang for that matter.

When Alaric didn't answer her question, Meredith continued. "That's what I thought."

As if on cue, Damon appears in their sight and sees that he's approaching them.

"Evenin'... not so lovebirds." Damon greeted and did that eye thing wherein he finds the scene before him amusing. Meredith, however, is the complete opposite.

"Don't. Don't act like you didn't do something completely unacceptable!" Meredith yelled. But due to the loud banging of the music from the speakers, her yell was a bit inaudible, but Damon still heard it.

"Right. I admit... I drank from a pornstar." Damon joked and did his usual smirk. Ric rolls his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger as a way to contain his aggravation from surfacing and take over.

"Damon, this is not the time to joke around."

"It's always time for joking when you're with me."

"So you consider compelling my sister a joke?" Meredith said and the smirk that was firmly placed on Damon's lips quickly faded. Confusion starts to take over him as his forehead creases and his eyebrows furrow.

"What did you say?" Damon said. There was a hint of anger in his voice, resulting in Meredith to question her assumptions as well as Alaric.

"I asked Paris where she bought her dress and how much it costs. She said she doesn't remember. When I looked down at her wrist, she wasn't wearing the vervain bracelet I gave her."

"And you didn't even bother to give the big bad hybrid a credit?"

Meredith's assumption disappeared in an instant when Damon mentioned that and all she could think about is finding her sister and get her out of here.

"We need to find her." Alaric said and the three of them immediately split up to find the younger Fell.

Damon passes through a couple of dancing teenagers while he looks for Paris when he catches the sight of his brother and his girlfriend.

"Oh no. You got that...face on." Stefan commented on his brother's facial expression.

"You mean the face I make when Paris is in trouble?" Damon sarcastically said and basically informed them about the current dilemma.

Both Stefan and Elena widen their eyes at Damon's statement and become frantic. "She's what?" Elena said in shock.

"She's in trouble, Elena. You've only been here for three minutes and you're already deaf because of that horrible music that has nothing to do with the 20s." Damon said with frustration completely obvious in his way of speaking.

Stefan, Elena and the rest of the supernatural scooby gang join the search party for Paris, but none of them succeeded in finding her, until her best friend Dana approached Damon.

"Excuse me. You're Damon Salvatore, right?" Dana said. The eldest Salvatore stops abruptly but still his icy blue eyes never once glance at the young girl in front of her. Instead, he roams them around to find a certain brunette.

"I have no time for autographs." Damon just said.

"But I have a message for you. It's from Klaus..." Dana said and his eyes shoot to the compelled girl in front of him.

"He said that if you want the girl back in one piece, you need to burn every white oak wood that exists by midnight. Fail to complete this task, well, let's just say a certain brunette and green-eyed human would be burning brightly tonight."

Here's the new chapter! I'm so busy in school right now but even though I'm drowning in schoolwork, I still manage to update at least two times a week since I find this as my escape from all the things that stress me out.
