โHow are you ever going to win when you're coming after the wrong people.โž

โ™

ย  ย  EVERYTHING AROUND HER slowed down as she approached the Salvatore Boarding House. She couldn't hear anything besides the high-pitched ringing she's pretty sure her mind made up. Her breath hitched in her throat while she reached for the doorknob.

She could hear her own breathing picking up its pace as she turns the knob and pushes the door open. She swore the door didn't make creaking sounds before, but when the door slowly opened, it creaked loudly, which Paris guessed is on purpose because it added to the ambiance of the scene.

She lets her feet take a few steps inside the house, her heartbeat speeding up before she reached the living room of the house. Her lips parted as she saw Bonnie and Elena unconscious on the sofa, with previously broken shackles around Bonnie's wrists.

She hears Stefan groan as he leaned on the bricks of the fireplace. Lucien barely kept his eyes open. Damon grunts in pain as he lied on the ground.

Another whimper was to be heard from the other direction and there she saw Meredith beside Alaric and Caroline.

Paris widens her eyes at the sight of her sister with a cut on her forehead.

"Meredith!" Paris exclaimed as she moved towards her sister.

But she wasn't able to reach her since when she was only a few feet away from her, an invisible barrier pushed her back, causing her to stumble a few steps backward.

She creases her forehead as she roams around her eyes wondering what the hell just happened.

"Boundary spell." Someone behind her suddenly spoke and Paris practically whips around at the sound of her voice.

"It's pretty useful when you want to keep someone from escaping." Camila added as she strolled into the living room, not bothering to change into new clothes considering that she was still in her ballgown.

"Those three-" she pointed to Meredith, Alaric, and Caroline. "-Came to check up on you. Little did they know that I was actually freed. So, here they are." She said.

Paris looks back at Meredith and the others with worry in her eyes before Camila spoke again.

"I fixed the shackles." Camila said, pointing to the shackled wrists of one Bonnie Bennett. "Aurora broke them when she freed me. That's a unique dark object though. I don't know why, but I wasn't able to siphon the magic out of that anti-magic shackles. Huh. Ironic. Magic in an anti-magic shackles." Camila said before she grinned and chuckled eerily.

Paris takes in a deep breath as she eyes the witch sternly. "Where's Aurora?" Paris asked.

Camila's grin slowly faded as she broke eye contact with the younger Fell. "I killed her. Well, Lucien bit her and his venom was slowly killing her. She was in pain so...I drove a stake through her heart to put her out of her misery." Camila said, all while looking everywhere except Paris.

"You shouldn't have done that. Aurora deserves to suffer after everything she did." Paris taunted, which was a bad move.

Slowly, the vampires have gained enough strength to stand up but like the others, they're also invisible barriers surrounding them, keeping them from getting out.

Stefan, Damon, and Lucien all shared glances before their eyes landed on the two Fells.

A spark of anger ignited inside Camila's body due to Paris' words. When she heard shuffling behind her, she turns around to see that Damon and the others are awake.

"Great. Just in time to motivate our little Paris." Camila said.

The witch approached the raven-haired vampire rather quickly, dismantling the boundary spell around him before grabbing his arm. Her hand glowed against Damon's skin and a series of groans fell off his lips while Camila siphons from him.

"Damon!" Paris exclaimed as Damon continued to grunt, his face scrunching up in pain.

"Magic is the reason vampires are still up and running. If I siphon every last bit of magic inside his body, he would die. For good." Camila threatened.

Damon proceeds to scream in agony and he widens his eyes when he saw his hands turning grey.

"Give me the serum or I'll kill your boyfriend." Camila challenged.

"No!" Stefan said as he thrashed around, punching the invisible barrier hopelessly as he watched his brother in despair.

"Fine! I'll give it to you, let him go!" Paris said as she gave in.

A grin appeared on Camila's lips before she released Damon from her grip. Damon immediately falls to the ground catching his breath as he held on to his arm, still seeing his arm half-grey.

Paris places her bag on the nearest table and takes out the very thing that Camila has been trying to acquire ever since she and Aurora came to Mystic Falls.

"If I give this to you, you'll let them go." Paris said as she held the small container that holds the serum.

Camila's eyebrows shot upward as she finally laid eyes on the infamous upgraded immortality serum.

Lucien's eyes widened at the sight of the serum in Paris' hands and he began to thrash around. "No! Paris, don't give it to her." Lucien told her.

"I have no choice!"

"Yes, you have!"

Lucien and Paris maintained eye contact. She knew what Lucien was talking about. She knew she had a choice, to give the serum or to drink the serum. But she already made that choice.

Suddenly, Camila uses her magic to snatch the serum away from Paris' grip and into Camila's.

"No!" Lucien shouted. Both him and Paris have their eyes widened as they watched Camila admire the container in her hand, a victorious smile tugging on her lips.

"I finally have it." Camila said. She grips the container a bit tight and hummed as she felt the magic inside the container. "Hmm. And it's full of magic." She added.

The witch turns her gaze towards the young vampire before she spoke. "Thank you." Said Camila.

A wooden stake suddenly appears floating from behind Paris as Camila thanked her. Lucien, Stefan, and Damon widen their eyes as they saw the stake flying towards her.

"No!" A scream fell from Damon's lips before the tip of the stake drove through Paris' back, stabbing her fragile heart.

A mix of gasp and whimper escapes Paris' throat as she felt the object scrape against her heart.

"No! No!" Damon said, thrashing around to come running to her but he was unable to due to the lack of life in his lower body that is covered in grey veins.

Lucien looked with wide eyes as he watched another one of the people he cares about deeply die in front of him.

Paris' mouth hung open as she tried to gasp for air but it didn't seem like she was able to inhale anymore. Her legs go weak and her knees went wobbly as she tumbles to the ground, falling on her side.

Her head hit the ground hard but it felt nothing compared to the pain she was experiencing in her heart. Her eyes remained fixated on a frantic Damon, feeling her body slowly losing its ability to move.

She tried to move her lips, desperate to mutter at least a word to Damon. But as soon as grey took over her neck and her chin, she couldn't move her lips anymore. A teardrop falls from her eyes as her eyesight began to blur, the flames from the fireplace grew bright before it faded to black. Her whole body and face are now desiccated. She's dead.

"No." Damon muttered as tears gathered in his eyes.

Lucien, who was unable to speak just stared at the lifeless body of Paris. While Stefan, closes his eyes, his hands balling into fists.

"Now, she's dead." Camila commented.

She turns her gaze towards the serum and grinned widely.

"Oh, Aurora, I wish you're here with me." Camila muttered to herself.

Considering that the three are vampires, they were able to hear what Camila whispered.

"But she's dead. You're not gonna see her again." Lucien taunted.

Camila shifts her gaze to the truly immortal vampire before she raises her free hand and sends an aneurysm towards Lucien, causing him to groan.

"Once I become a heretic. I'll just wait for a celestial event. So that unlike your precious Alexis, I'll bring Aurora back." Camila said before releasing Lucien from the aneurysm.

"And you-" she turns to a devastated Damon still looking at the desiccated body of Paris. "You'll see her soon." She added.

Usually, Damon would retort with a sarcastic remark. But he was too occupied grieving his dead girlfriend to even come up with one.

"Now, look here. I want you to witness as I make history." Camila said with a wide grin still planted on her face.

She takes the lid off of the container and the three vampires stiffened as they watch Camila take the serum in horror.

Camila brings the rim of the container to her lips to drink the serum but not before a bloody wooden stake flew through the glass container causing it to shatter, the serum spilling to the ground.

Camila glances at the wooden stake that stabbed the wall and sees that it's the same stake that she used to stab Paris.

She whips her head towards the other direction and there she sees Paris on her feet, her vampire face showing, although the difference was, her eye color wasn't green anymore. It was dark red.

"Why can't you just die?" Camila said as she looks at Paris angry, confused, and shocked.

Damon, Stefan, and Lucien widen their eyes as they stared at Paris. As if on cue, Bonnie, Elena, Meredith, Alaric, and Caroline also regained consciousness and finds themselves witnessing the new Paris.

"Lucien never said there was only one serum left," Paris said.

When she found the hiding place of the serum, she found that there wasn't only one but two of them.

Camila continues to look at Paris in horror before the upgraded original vampire speeds towards the witch and grabs her by the throat, lifting her from the ground and throwing her against one of the walls.

Not even five seconds later since Camila landed on the ground, Paris made her way over to Camila and kicks her hard, sending her towards the opposite side of the room.

Camila once again landed harshly on the ground as she felt a few more ribs break inside her. Nevertheless, she still forced herself to stand up.

"You think you're so smart? Fine, let's see how great that brain of yours is." Camila said.

Paris once again uses her enhanced speed to get to Camila but then suddenly her surroundings went black. She stopped dead on her tracks as she looked around.

Everything was black. She can't see Camila nor Damon and the others anymore. She can't hear them as well. It took a few more seconds before Paris realized that it's an illusion spell.

"Freaky, right?" Camila's voice echoed and Paris turns around to see Camila a couple of feet away from her.

She moves towards her but before she could reach her, Camila was gone again.

"I thought you were smart?" Paris heard Camila say again and she immediately goes towards the direction she heard her but then like earlier, she disappeared again.

Suddenly, her surroundings that were once black finally went back to normal. She was in the living room again.

Her eyes landed on a smirking Camila and Paris charged after her, immediately sinking her fangs into her neck. Camila gasps as the venom from Paris' fangs flowed out of her and into her veins.

"How are you ever going to win when you're coming after the wrong people." A voice very much like Camila's spoke behind her and when she glanced, it is Camila.

She's standing a couple of feet away from her as she grinned eerily at the vampire. But if she was there, who did she-

Paris glanced back in front of her and her eyes widened when she sees Damon with a bite mark on his neck.

"Oh my God! Damon?!" Paris exclaimed as she panicked.

Damon groans in pain as he felt the venom in his neck slowly spreading towards his chest.

"Damon! I'm so sorry. I-"

"I can't help but laugh at the irony of this situation. Damon killed you. And now you kill him. If you ask me, it's twistedly dramatic and, well, tragic." Camila said.

Paris laid Damon gently on the ground before coming after the witch.

She sends Camila flying and landing in the center of the living room near Bonnie. Camila could no longer feel a lot of magic in her veins considering that she's running out of it, she didn't have time to restore the dark magic.

Camila tried to stand up despite being weak but her hand came into contact with magic and she accidentally siphoned it, regaining her strength once again.

She stands up and uses illusion to mess with Paris again.

Paris felt her surroundings shift again. Everything was still the same, but she knew it wasn't. However, Paris did notice that this scene is quite familiar.

She looks around trying to find out which one is Camila.

Suddenly, she heard Lucien scream in pain. She whipped her head towards Lucien and saw that it wasn't Lucien.

Paris eyebrows furrowed as her surroundings flickered from the real one and the illusion, and as it did, so did Lucien.

The person before her flickered between Lucien and Camila repeatedly as he, or she,ย  screamed in pain. Only she doesn't know if it's really Lucien or if it's Camila.

"Paris!" Bonnie yelled and Paris shifts her gaze to the Bennett witch, seeing that her wrists are no longer shackled.

Turns out, the magic that Camila accidentally siphoned was the boundary spell trapping Bonnie. As soon as Bonnie was released, she immediately looked for the key of the shackles while Camila was busy manipulating Paris' reality then freed herself.

"Camila's pretending to be Lucien! I can only hold her down with my magic, you have to finish it!" Bonnie told Paris.

Paris nodded at the witch before she glanced back at Camila, that's when it hit her.

The scene was very familiar because she has seen this before. From the vision that Alexis showed her. The part when she killed Lucien.

She wasn't killing Lucien, she was killing Camila pretending to be Lucien. Camila is the devil the vision is referring to, not Lucien.

Because of that, knowing that she is destined to kill Camila, everything in her felt energized before she speeds towards Camila and punches her hand inside her chest.

Camila, despite having Paris' hand in her chest, was still trying to keep the illusion up as her appearance flickered between her real self and Lucien's.

After everything that Camila has done, she can't help but feel the anger rising inside her as a tear escapes her red-colored eye. Then she rips her heart out.

The illusion stopped and Camila was back to her real appearance. Everything went silent as Paris drops Camila's cold, black heart to the ground.

It was over. It was finally over.

"What did the witches say?" Paris asked Bonnie while they're outside the Salvatore House.

"They said they won't help. Especially since you're an upgraded original vampire." Bonnie answered in dismay.

Paris has been struggling to find a way for Damon to survive her bite but she hasn't gotten any luck. Bonnie offered another way.

She asked the witches that granted her the power she has access now if there's any way they could save Damon. But like what she answered earlier, they're not willing to cooperate.

Paris balled her hands into fists as she sighs in annoyance.

"I killed Camila. They should be thanking me!"

"But they keep saying you're still the greatest evil. There was no way they would help you. They said this was your punishment." Bonnie said, her eyes getting teary as well as she thought of Damon.

"No. They can punish me all they want but Damon has to stay out of it. Tell them I'll accept any punishment, just save him." Parks pleaded.

Bonnie opens her mouth but before she could respond, the witches started whispering to her.

Paris noticed the change in Bonnie's expression and figured out that maybe it was the witches.

"They'll help. They have a new punishment for you."

Paris walks inside Damon's room rather slowly. She sees him sweating as he laid on his bed. The bedsheets were drenched with his sweat.

A groan escapes his lips and Paris immediately move towards him to calm him down.

"Hey, hey. It's okay. I'm here." Said Paris.

His broken blue eyes shifted towards Paris and he weakly smiled.

"You're here...I can die now." Damon said.

Paris held his hand tightly before she responds.

"You're not gonna die. The witches are gonna help you." Paris told him.

Damon looks at her with furrowed eyebrows as Paris said those words. Why would they help him though?

"What's the catch? I've been alive long enough to know that witches are bargainers." Damon said, his voice hoarse.

Paris averts her eyes from his face and to their intertwined fingers before she replied.

"They're temporarily hiding the effects of the venom in your body with magic. It would still be in you, but it wouldn't kill you anymore." Paris started.

"And?"

"And...the witches are gonna link their magic to me. The venom inside you won't try to kill you anymore as long as I stay far away from you. If I even come within ten meters, the wound will appear again and would kill you. It's my punishment for upsetting the balance."

Damon creases his forehead even more and he repeatedly shakes his head.

"No. Not happening." He protested.

"Damon, it could save you."

"Then, I don't want to be saved. Not if you are miles away from me for eternity. I might as well be dead."

Paris sighs. She knew he would react this way. But it will save his life. He has to accept it, even if she has to force him to.

"I knew you'd say that..." Damon looks at Paris and she moves closer to him. "So I have to do this."

Damon took him only a second before he realized what she was about to do.

"Don't. Don't do this. Paris." Damon pleaded as he starts to move away from Paris but she held him down considering that she was now much stronger than him.

"Paris, please. Don't do this!" Damon continued to plead as a sob left Paris' lips, unable to keep herself from breaking down.

Her green eyes looked straight into his blue ones as she starts to compel him.

"You will forget about me..." Her pupils dilated as well as Damon's. "But I love you. And just know that I will come back for you, however long it takes..." A tear escapes her eye as her voice cracked. "And you will know that I've returned the moment that I tell you my name."

A sob leaves Paris as she slowly backs away from Damon, then speeding away.

โ™

After she has packed the things she needed and has said goodbye to everyone especially her sister who couldn't accept the fact that Paris wouldn't allow her to go with her since she has a life here, she gets into her car and starts driving away.

She was half-way out of Mystic Falls when suddenly, an all too familiar Audi was parked ahead and she was forced to stop. She saw a British man leaning against the Audi with a smirk planted on his lips, making Paris step out of her car.

"Lucien? What are you doing here?" She asked as she exited her car.

"Come on. You didn't think I'd let you take on the world without back up now, did you?" Lucien said.

Paris smiled widely at his words and can't help but laugh softly. Lucien returns the smile and it was a truly happy one. If Lucien is still able to be happy after going through so much, maybe Paris could find happiness as well.

Maybe she could still find happiness, she just needs to search the whole world for it.
