NAOMI TOOK A DEEP BREATH as she poured herself another drink. The day had been exhausting and it wasn't even over yet. After Luann's funeral, she and Miguel had extended an invitation for everyone to join them at their rental home to celebrate Luann's life. Of course Gemma and Clay had denied the invitation claiming they had planned their own celebration for Luann.
Naomi did not mind one bit that her parents weren't coming β she preferred it, but she also knew this wouldn't be the last time she saw them.
"You doing okay?" Jax's voice interrupted Naomi's thoughts. It was clear he was concerned for his younger sister, wondering if everything had been all too much for her.
A deep sigh left Naomi's lips. She wasn't sure how to answer such a simple question. Of course she wasn't doing okay, but she didn't want to worry anyone. She had already done that to Miguel on the ride back from the funeral.
"Ask me that question again in a day or two." The tiniest of smiles forming on her tired face. "Does anyone need anything?" She quickly changed the topic from herself to her guests. It's what any good hostess would do she heard Gemma's voice echoing in her mind β making her cringe.
Jax shook his head as he grabbed a beer from the fridge. "Everyone is fine, Naomi. You don't need to play the perfect host tonight." He told her while opening his beer and taking a long sip from it.
"I know. It's just I don't know what else to do. I tried putting a smile on my face and have conversations, but in the back of my mind all I can fucking think about is Luann and Otto." Naomi confessed as her eyes filled with tears. How she wasn't all cried out already was beyond her.
The former Teller took a long sip from her drink before wiping away the tears from her eyes. "I mean, what is Otto going to do now? Luann was his life. He has no one now."
Naomi had always admired the way Otto cared for Luann. He loved Luann so much he would do anything for her. Whatever she wanted he got and gave to her.
It reminded her of Miguel in a way. Naomi knew without a fucking doubt that Miguel would do anything and everything for her and their kids.
A harden look took over Jax's face as Naomi's words hit him. He quickly pulled his sister into a hug. "He's got us, Naomi. You know the club will take care of him."
"I know." Naomi sighed, knowing it was better to agree than argue, but she didn't believe the club was what Otto needed or possibly even wanted right now. It was the club's fault that his wife was dead.
"Don't worry, sis. I promise you everything is going to be okay." A promise that Jax wasn't so sure he would be able to keep left his lips as he placed a kiss on top of Naomi's head.
A tight smile took over Naomi's face as she looked up at Jax. She wasn't so certain if Jax would be able to keep his promise, but she had to believe in him.
Β Β Β Β Β Β A YAWN LEFT NAOMI'S lips as she finished putting away the rest of the leftovers from earlier. Everyone had left a few hours ago expect for Jax who was talking with Miguel in the living room. Naomi was certain the two were planning something that had to do with the Sons and the Galindo cartel joining forces in some capacity.
"Go to bed, mi amor." Miguel's soft voice whispered in her ear as he wrapped his arms tightly around her.
"I didn't even hear you come in." A smile forming on her face as Miguel softly kissed her shoulder.
"I know." The Galindo man chuckled. "Jax said he'll try and stop by tomorrow and to thank you for everything you did today."
Naomi turned around his Miguel's arms, facing him she took in his tired face. She had only just realized that everything was taking a toll on her, but him as well. Miguel hated Charming and her parents just as much as she did, and she knew leaving their kids was extremely hard on him as well.
"I'm sorry."
Miguel raised an eyebrow at his wife's sudden apology. "For what?"
"I know all of this is also hard on you. I've been acting like it's only me and I'm sorry." Naomi ran hand over Miguel's beard, smiling as he grabbed her hand and placed a kiss on her palm.
"You have nothing to be sorry for, amor." He promised. "I can handle Charming and your parents, and anything else that gets thrown our way."
Naomi placed her lips against his at his comforting words. She knew Miguel meant it too. She didn't have to question his words like she had done with other people.
"What were you and Jax talking about?" The blonde raised an eyebrow at her husband as they made their way upstairs.
A chuckle left Miguel's mouth as they walked into the bedroom. "You'll know soon." He promised, undoing his belt as he watched Naomi pull off her dress, leaving her in a pair of lacy underwear and a matching bra. "Amor, you're killing me here." He groaned, making his way towards her.
A small laugh left her lips, enjoying Miguel's warm touch on her skin. "That's my job as your wife." She teased.
Miguel practically growled as he placed a string of kisses along his wife's neck. "I love you so fucking much." His tone serious as he stared deeply into Naomi's eyes.
"I love you too." Her tone just as serious as the couple moved towards the bed.
"I'll never let anything happen to you or our children." Miguel promised as he wrapped his arms around Naomi's waist. As much as he would have loved being inside of her, he knew she needed rest.
"I know." The blonde smiled sleepily as she snuggled closer to her husband, letting sleep take over.
