A satisfied smile filled Naomi Galindo's sun-kissed as she exited the courtroom with yet another win under her belt.
Congratulations and pats on the shoulder were offered to her from various colleagues as well as her client. Naomi smiled at everyone, saying a polite thank you as her heels click-clacked against the ceramic courthouse floors.
It was an easy case for Naomi, but she wouldn't say that out loud because even an easy case could take a turn for the worst, but the Galindo woman knew she had this case won from the moment she took it. Being a criminal lawyer most people assumed that Naomi studied law because of who her husband was — or her family. That wasn't the case though. Sure, it helped that she knew the ins and outs of the law, but being married to Miguel Galindo wasn't the deciding factor for her career.
It was also insinuated more than once that Naomi was only a pretty face or just the trophy wife of Miguel. Why would anyone want a Barbie looking woman as their lawyer? The more cases she won the smugger her smiles got to those who doubted her or called her 'lawyer Barbie or Elle Woods' behind her back.
"Court went well, Mrs Galindo?" Luis, the bodyguard Miguel had hired for her many years ago questioned as he opened the back door to the SUV.
"Very well, Luis." She nodded with a smile while typing out a text to Miguel. "I need to pick up a few steaks at Carnicería Reyes and then go to Emily's." The blonde stated matter of factly as she slid into the back of the SUV.
"Of course, Mrs Galindo." The older man nodded, quickly closing the door and hurrying to the drivers side.
Naomi busied herself on her phone while Luis began to drive. Even though she had just won a case she knew there would be many more waiting for her. The blonde read through a few emails, replying back to the most urgent ones, sent a few texts, and made sure to remind Miguel to pick up their favorite bottle of wine tonight.
A sigh left her lips as she finally put her phone away and leaned back into the comfortable leather seats. The memory of meeting Miguel for the first time entered her mind as a smile formed on her lips.
Naomi had thought she would never fall in love again after the heartbreak she had endured at her graduation party. It had taken Miguel sometime for her to agree to go on a date with him. She was too heartbroken among other things to even consider dating again, but Miguel was patient and didn't push her. He was the perfect gentleman. Naomi couldn't ask for a better man or a better father to their children.
"We're here, Mrs Galindo." Luis announced, his voice breaking Naomi from her daydreams. "Would you like me to go in for you?" He questioned, staring at her through the rear view mirror.
Naomi debated Luis' question for a moment. She enjoyed visiting with Felipe Reyes from time to time, but she was exhausted and staying in the comfortable air conditioned vehicle sounded better than going inside the butcher shop.
"That would be much appreciated, Luis." Naomi smiled as she felt her phone began to vibrate, a sigh leaving her lips as she pressed the ignore button. "Get two of his best steaks and tell Felipe I said hello." She added as her eyes stared at the voicemail notification that popped up on her phone.
The shutting of the door pulled Naomi from her daze as she looked up from her phone, watching Luis as he entered the shop. She shook her head and let out a scoff as she quickly deleted the voicemail not even bothering to listen to it. It wasn't worth it—it never was when it came to Gemma Teller.
After Naomi had left Gemma and her had a falling out—they had always been destined for one. Naomi tried and tried to make Gemma happy, but nothing was every good enough for the Queen of Samcro.
The Galindo woman let out a soft sigh as she shook her head free of the thoughts of her estranged mother and closed her eyes. She no longer needed Gemma Teller anyway. She had made a life and family for herself—far away from her mother's toxicity.
It was late when Miguel walked into their home with a bottle of their favorite wine in his hand. Their kids had already gone to bed hours ago with the help of Dita getting their one year old twins ready for bed while Naomi give their older daughter a bath.
Naomi would forever be grateful for Dita Galindo, the matriarch was not only wonderful with her grandchildren but she had become a mother figure to Naomi since she began dating Miguel years ago.
"I'm sorry I'm so late, mi amor." Miguel whispered as he wrapped his arms around his wife, kissing her neck. "I had a few things to handle." He explained while moving her long blonde hair away from her neck, placing more kisses on her exposed neck.
A low moan escaped Naomi's throat. She wasn't mad. She never got mad when he came home late. Naomi understood his job, and had since he told her when they first got serious. It would be hypocritical of her to get mad at him. There were times when Naomi was late too, and Miguel understood as well. They didn't get mad at the little things like that.
"My love if you keep kissing me like that we might wind up with more babies." She teased as she turned around to face him.
"That's fine with me." Miguel smirked as he placed his lips on hers, quickly deepening the kiss with his tongue. "The kids all asleep?" He questioned breathlessly as he moved his lips away from hers and began placing kissing along her jaw.
"Mmhm." She hummed while running a hand through his dark hair.
A small gasp left her lips as Miguel placed her on top of the counter, a smirk on his lips as he moved his mouth to her chest, placing soft kissing on her breasts.
"Miguel." Her tone held a warning in it as he looked at her with an innocent smile. "Don't tease me." She added.
A small chuckle left his lips. "So impatient, mi amor."
The sudden vibration of Naomi's phone made her sigh as a frown took over her face. She tried her best to ignore it as Miguel continued to tease her body, but it continued to go off.
"I'm sorry." The blonde apologized as she reached over for her phone, answering it quickly once she saw her brother's name appearing on it.
"Jax, what's wrong? What? No, yeah. We'll be there. I love you too."
"What's wrong, Naomi?" Miguel questioned, noticing the sudden shift in the room. "What did Jax want?"
It took Naomi a moment to realize that Miguel was talking to her, asking her questions. Her mind was dazed as she sat on the counter replaying her brother's words in her head.
"My godmother, Luann is dead." Naomi spoke slowly as she blinked back tears. "The funeral is in a few days."
Miguel's heart broke for his wife. He knew how much her godmother had meant to her. He could remember all the stories she had shared with him about the woman. Miguel himself had even met her a few times and could see the love the two woman had for each other. Quickly, he wrapped his arms around his wife, placing a kiss on-top of her head.
"I hate that town." Naomi spat as she held tightly into her husband. "It's poison."
Naomi's mind was screaming at her not to go back, but she had to. This was for Luann, the woman was more of mother than Gemma was. Charming and Gemma Teller would not poison her though. She had gotten out once before and she wouldn't get stuck in Gemma's web.
