"...𝔱hat's ancient history, been there, done that." Luke smiled, as Ellie continued to head bop, singing into a slice of pizza as if it were a microphone. The music to the Hercules soundtrack had been blaring ever since it started, and Luke could feel a migraine coming on, but Ellie was happy.
More so than she'd been earlier.
"Who'd you think your kidding? He's the earth and heaven to you..." Ethan sang in response, doing overly exaggerated dance movements. Luke was starting to regret ever introducing the pair, especially after they had started singing along to the first song.
He wouldn't say anything. Ellie was happy, incredibly happy, and having fun with Ethan. The pair had hit right off as soon as they'd been introduced, chatting like they'd known each other for years.
"No chance, no way, I won't say it, no, no," Ellie glanced back at him, and Luke couldn't help but laugh as a slice of pepperoni fell off and onto her face, but the girl took it all in her stride, eating it as she sang.
Diet coke cans and empty pizza boxes were littered on the coffee table, along with a store brought cake that they'd yet to start eating. The entire apartment looked like a bomb had hit it.
"It's too cliche, I won't say I'm in love," Luke laughed, as Ethan continued to dance on the other side of Ellie, a large grin on his face. Something about this entire affair was just bringing him more comic relief than normal, and whilst he wished that he and Ellie were alone for her birthday, Luke did find that Ellie and Ethan's chaotic nature was good for taking his mind off of work. But he still was regretting ever introducing them. "I thought my heart had learned it's lesson."
He rolled his eyes once more, tuning them out as he continued to watch the video.
Finally, after another minute of torture for Luke's ears, including a high note from Ethan, a plethora of dance moves and a large amount of over dramatic-ness from both of them, the song came to an end.
"Thank the gods," Luke murmured, as the pair reverted back to eating pizza and watching the movie quietly. Ellie flopped back into his arms, perfectly content, as Luke wrapped his arms around her waist. She burrowed further into his arms, pressing a kiss to his jaw as he smiled.
"Disgusting." Ethan shuddered. "You two are good at making people feel single I take it?"
"Well, you can always come and cuddle too," Ellie laughed, opening her arms. Luke began to shake his head, hoping his best friend would not but it was ignored. Ethan turned, lying between Ellie's legs as the pair began to talk about Disney. Luke kissed his teeth, before shaking his head.
"What did I do to deserve this?"

"Call me, Bella!" Ethan shouted to the girl, as Luke dragged him out of the apartment by his collar. "I'm normally in New York so we should definitely hang out when Luke's not around."
"For sure!" Luke opened the apartment door, pushing Ethan out, as the man laughed. "Bye Ethan!"
"Bye!" Ethan waved, before the door closed and he was left with Luke. "Okay, she's great and way out of your league. How did you get her to date your lame ass?"
"That's a good question, Ethan." Luke rolled his eyes. "But, don't tell the others, yeah? I don't want the others to know."
"I wouldn't, don't worry." Ethan smiled, patting his friend on the back. "I'm happy for you, man, she's great! Thanks for having me round, I loved it. I'll see you soon, yeah?"
"Yeah." Luke waved, before watching as Ethan hurried off down the stairs and out of the building. Luke huffed, before opening Ellie's apartment and immediately making a bee line for Ellie, who was putting stuff away. "Ellieeeeee."
"Yes?" She glanced over at him, as he wrapped an arm around her waist, kissing her cheek.
"I didn't get to give you your birthday gifts cause of Ethan." The girl blushed, leaning into Luke's touch. "Now a good time?"
"Absolutely," She grinned, as Luke took the plates from her hand and sat her down on the couch, before running off to find her presents. Pulling them out from the various hiding places in their bedroom, he flopped back down in front of Ellie with the gifts in hand. "You are too sweet."
"I'm your boyfriend, it's my job," Ellie grinned, leaning over to press a kiss to his lips. It tasted of frosting and diet coke, all mixed together in a sugary combination that left him craving more.
Luke felt like he could get a sugar high just from her kisses.
She pulled away first, running a thumb down the scar on his cheek, watching him with warm eyes and a wide smile. He beamed down at her, before pushing the presents over to her.
"Okay, I'm getting to it," Peeling the sticky tape off, Luke grinned at Ellie's excited face, as she pulled a Ravenclaw scarf and knitted hat from the package. "You are the absolute best."
"Thought that you could wear it to the cinema for the movie," She grinned again, before moving onto the next present. Opening it, she cheered at the sight of another fluffy blanket and more socks, along with a hoodie. "They're my old ones that are too small for me. I knew that they'd probably get a good use if they went to you."
Ellie laughed, before pulling the hood of her hoodie (which Luke knew was his because he had left it with her) up and grinning at him again.
"I'm never gonna take them off," Luke laughed, before placing the final package in her hand. Ellie's eyebrows furrowed at the weight of it, before pulling it open to reveal a Celestial Bronze dagger in her hands. "What...? Why...?"
"I hope you never have to use it, I really do," Luke murmured, the grin falling from his face as he thought. "But if you should ever get stuck with one of those monsters that others like me fight, you stab it until it turns to gold dust, and then you run far away from it. The blade won't hurt humans but it will hurt the monsters. Just in case I'm not there."
Ellie nodded, sheathing the dagger and placing it on the coffee table, before she pulled Luke into a tight hug and pressed a kiss to his exposed collar bone. His hands rubbed up and down her back, as they sat in silence for a moment.
Finally, Ellie pulled away, catching Luke's face in her hands.
"Nothing's gonna happen to me." She smiled, as Luke wrapped his arms back around her, happy to have the comforting weight of her in his arms once more. "Not when I've got my very own superhero around to save the day."
If she only knew how wrong she was. Luke shook that thought out of his head, as he pressed another kiss to her head, both of them basking in the evening glow of the city.

Hiya,
Ethan and Ellie are my favorite brotp and no one can convince me otherwise and Luke is so over protective of his girl, I love it. I just love this book and couple to be perfectly honest.
Also;
Let me know what you think,
Love Li xx
